The towering tiefling runs toward the holding cells, spiked chain in hand and a snarl on his lips.


As Jerax arrives he sees that the bars in the windows have been pulled out by some great force, probably a horse kicked into straining against them. One last booted foot is out before he can pull them back in, but he does see the culprits as they get away, Tileavia Allamar's sons, Loran and Lacall.

Cimri, *ahem* nearby, looks at the bars and spits out a curse, "The little s$!$s have been filing our bars!" She races out of the jailhouse after helping Trevor wake everyone. "Time to catch us some convicts!" she bellows, mad glee running through her eyes. The Allamar boys have a bit of a lead on you but not much, it should be possible to catch them.

Only able to move as quickly as their slowest members Lacall helps the-still limping-jail breakers to put some more distance between you and them. Cimri, having none of it rushes forward throwing one of her daggers at his brother. Approximately 75 feet away from the rest of you, 45 from her.

It miraculously catches Loran even from this distance, drawing a curse to Iomedae from his lips.

Vokrin rises from his sleeping, and makes utmost haste toward the outer walls of the building. He would like to be able to drop sleep on them, but he had already cast that and hadn't the time to prepare it once more, leaving only more harmful methods at his disposal. Blasted children...


Ah, let me clarify. This is the next night over, so you've had a chance to regain spells/abilities/etc. for the day. Sorry for not making that clearer.

At Trevor's shouting, Penance bolted upright. His eyes adjusted to the darkness instantly and he grabbed his crossbow as he made his way to the cells. "Well, I guess they took the bait. Time to go reel them in."

As the prisoners fled, Penance gave chase but quickly realized he could not catch them. Rather than pursue a lost cause, he prayed for someone that could.

"My lord Asmodeus, I am in need of one of your fiendish servants." A flash of fire and brimstone erupted 25 feet in front of him. Speeding through the air on blood-red wings flew a fiendish eagle. It reached the traitors in an instant and sliced out at the nearest one with a crimson talon.

Talon, charge: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 = 20
Slashing damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Standard action to summon monster 1 for a fiendish eagle.


Penance's monster slashes at, and takes down, one of the teenagers causing Loran and Lacall to pause and try to help him up. From atop a nearby building what looks like a child with four wings and a bow flies to hover over Loran and Lacall. It opens fire on Cimri as its face grows sterner.

The arrow skims across her calf drawing blood. Loran pulls out his mace and takes a swing at Penance's eagle.

The head swings just over the eagle, missing by a hair's breadth.

As Jerax rounds the corner of the building, the anitpaladin sees both prisoners escaping, helped by the Allamar Twins and some kind of angel(?)

, roared Jerax and he charges toward the escapees and their liberators, swinging his spiked chain over his head.
Double move.


Got the map up. Apologies it isn't that great.

Lacall Green casts a quick spell DC 17 Spellcraft reveals it to be Sanctuary on himself before helping one of the injured further on.

Cimri rushes up, sap pulled out and ready to swing at anyone continuing to escape.

Vokrin prepares to cast sleep. It will take hold in a round, he takes small steps to keep the ruffians in the range of his spell.

With his summoned servent of the abyss clawing and biting at the traitors, Penance rushed ahead to catch up.

Penance's servant causes the convicts to begin dropping to the ground. Loran calls to Iomedae to heal the injured, closing the wounds around him before fleeing further. The mysterious archer flies down next to Lacall and opens fire on the fiendish bird harassing everyone.

It barely skims over the eagle, but draws blood all the same.

Trevor's spell takes immediate hold of one of the convicts, causing him to attack those he is escaping with.

A fistfight breaks around Cimri who does her level best to stay out of the scuffle. When they realize what they are doing the stop and attempt to flee further, drawing attacks from Cimri and the eagle.

Cimri knocks one unconscious as he tries to flee.

Even with Jerax hemming it in she can't quite get it.

Vokrin's spell finishes, and he drops a wave of tired energy on the group, centered on Lacall. DC 17 will save, affects up to 4 HD of creatures.

The brothers drop to the ground unconscious as the magic sinks into their bodies. The criminal appears to be unaffected, but is startled by his companions sleep nonetheless.

Missiles of force infused with the power of his blood shoot from an outstretched hand and fly unerringly to strike the criminal.

His little legs pumping along, Penance ignored the sleeping brothers and hustled after the remaining criminal. As he closed in on the trio, he skidded to a stop.

The eagle drags one of the criminals closer to the grave as Vokrin fells the last free standing criminal. The angel flies upwards to escape Jerax and Cimri from attacking it, its face shifting to a fierce eagle as it ascends. AoO from Jerax

Cimri's blade again cuts nothing but air.

The angel screeches, causing great pain to Cimri and Jerax, standing so close together.

As the angel tries to flee, the antipaladin's spiked chain seeks his opponent's flesh.

After Jerax's attack, the good outsider screeches very loudly, hurting the tiefling's pointed ears.

Undeterred, the towering tiefling whips his spike chain again for another attack.
MW Spiked Chain (flanked): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
Dmg.: 2d4 + 1 ⇒ (2, 1) + 1 = 4


The chain catches the angel's flesh, scoring it, but refusing to dig in, as though its skin were warded from basic attacks. DR, duhnduhnduuuuuuuuuhn! Bad music effects aside, yeah that angel has some serious baby-faced mojo going on.

Cimri tries again, whipping her kukri at the angel, trying to bring the thing down for more punishment.

Slash!: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (3) = 5

As with Jerax's chain her kukri bites, but leaves only a small mark that quickly repairs itself.

Vokrin moves to get better aim at the angel. He's expended several of his strikes already, but this fleeing creature will not do.

His ray of frost goes quite wide, striking a nearby building.

Screaming in Abyssal, Penance shouted "Smite the winged one, oh great servant of the abyss."

The eagle flapped it's crimson wings and banked to it's left, circling about and heading straight for the angel.

damage, smite: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Penance stepped back a few feet and began to unsling his crossbow.


Penance's eagle does little damage to the angel, but it does force the angel's face to shift once more, this time to a fierce leonine visage. It snaps at the eagle, intent on stopping its aggressor.

Bite!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

The jaws flash around empty air.

Trevor gets an idea. Hold the escapees hostage and make the angel leave! He will begin advancing on a sleeping prisoner while drawing his knife.

Cimri calls out, "Good idea Trevor!" before rolling backwards and holding her kukri against Loran's neck.

The angel slowly floats to the ground, bow listless in its hands with its charges threatened. Combat over!

The people of Longacre have long since learned to ignore sounds in the night, and fear the Archbaron's justice. Jerax sees nothing as everyone begins tying up the captives as well as Loran and Lacall. The angel continues to look upset at the threats to their lives.

Okay. With the others tying up the humans, Jerax will attempt to grapple and bind the angel with his spiked chain. Since I don't have Improved Grapple, the outsider gets an AoO on Jerax.

The angel lashes out with its jaws, looking to stop Jerax.

It scrapes its teeth on his armor as he wraps his arms around it, holding it down.

Now that the angel is grappled, Jerax will go for a pin. The anitpaladin now has a +5 to his CMB because of the grapple.

While the tiefling has a good grip he does not manage to pin the angel down, allowing it to attempt another chomp of his flesh.

It manages a chunk of flesh, but nothing too damaging.
