Ah, I'd forgotten about stone strike affecting CMD. Thanks for the breakdown.

I'm dubious on enlarge person increasing the hitpoints of your gear. Also, I think your math is off. The armor bonus on full plate is +9. I suppose it's fine for enlarge person to increase your armor's effective HP. Just keep in mind that when the spell wears off your armor loses the extra HP and potentially instantly fall apart.

It would be ((9 armor * 5) * 2 large) + 10 * 4 enhancement = 130 hp.

Your fullplate is currently at 70/130 damage taken.

The extra point of AC is from the feat Armor Focus which specifically increases the armor bonus by 1.

Absolutely my armor is going to crumble when the enlarge person wears off but hopefully it keeps me alive through this melee. :)


Good point on armor focus. It's still broken at this point but it's at 70/140 damage taken.

GM: By my calculation I am showing my armor to be a 74/140. Did I miss something or goof up a number? See calculation below.

You're right. I miscounted the number of hits that I had to adjust damage for when I had the hardness wrong. Your armor is not broken quite yet.

It's worth mentioning that you should count damage up rather than HP down, especially in the case of your armor losing a ton of durability as soon as your enlarge wears off.

I am just running it off a spreadsheet so as soon as the Enlarge Person wears off I will just remove the x2 from the HP formula and watch my armor crumble.

But I would not want you to bear the cost of repairs again after I sundered your ax in the last game. Fortunately, this time you are playing with Ralph. Feral: In an earlier PM I asked you whether I could cast overland flight on Rhon if I temporarily possessed him using magic jar and then casting overland flight using his body. You ruled that the overland flight spell was a mental effect rather than a physical effect and so it would not remain with Rhon's body. Feral: It looks like he messed something up in both his current and max hp. Based on his character sheet his hp should be 85/95.

6 dragons in one fight is also quite onerous. What is the CR of this encounter supposed to be?


It's a CR 17 encounter. The little dragons are only CR 10s and the wyrms are CR 8s.

Believe it or not the previous encounter was mathematically harder. It was CR 17+.

Feral: It is not just the numbers. The tactical elements of this fight are obnoxiously stacked against the players. An elder dragon that starts hidden and invisible and 5 younger dragons starting in a cave far above the range of most spells. Not to mention 6 highly mobile strikers in a large arena that gives them the full advantage of their mobility. If Exiel had not won initiative so he could use EFS and if I had not been in a stone body to tank a lot of those hits we would have fallen long ago. This would have TPKed a less optimal party. I thought Sean K Reynolds would have been experienced enough to balance this fight a little better.


I'm aware of concepts like line of sight. Please stop. If I have a question on what you're trying to do, I will ask as I have been. You are making this game a chore and I have better things to do than participate in games with players that do not respect my time.

The paragraph from pages 12-13 of the guide to organized play allows players to get full credit for a module or sanctioned AP book if they complete at least half of it. As GM you also would get full credit.
