Ever the diplomat Albrekt heads out to the seek out seedier bars and taverns, he'll particularly try and target local grave diggers for information regarding Xander;

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

(face palm) why did I even bother...

So you want just one check for a full day?

Diplomacy (Gather Information): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Some pretty solid opening checks there. Albrekt's attempt at aiding (in any capacity) has failed pretty miserably. Are Kamau and Solace going to attempt to aid either of the two party diplomats or fulfill other business?

Kamau is not especially useful for the 'asking around' part, but he will lend himself to "adding up" the various bits and pieces of information the party returns with using

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

If the party finds a lead and decides that forcing information from people is an option, Kamau will attempt/assist that as well.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Piecing together bits of collected info seems like aiding for Pyrrius's roll rather than helping to get the word out, so that puts Pyrrius's check at 29 now. I haven't heard from Solace in awhile. Joy, are you still around? Want to provide another aid to put Pyrrius over 30? :D

Apologies for the multiple checks DMFatespinner, envisioned Albrekt trying to gain info savvy like, then degenerating into intimidation if nothing came to light. Moot I know as rolls were... terrible lol. Just didn't want you thinking I don't read DM requests!

Joy appears to have gone MIA. I have her in two other games I believe, and she hasn't posted in them in awhile

Apologies for the extended delay. I was holding out for Joy's response and then found myself rather suddenly inundated with writing assignments and paperwork. I'll give Joy another couple days to surface before I start hunting for a replacement, then, and we'll see if we can't recover from the delays presently...

Haruk spends his day rather proactively circulating rumors of an undead fiend lurking the streets of Caliphas and generally sowing paranoia and fear in the population thereof. (Haruk, please let me know if you are angling for a specific type of undead, or just using vague generalities. It could be important later.)

Pyrrius, however, spends his day traveling between several notable taverns in town with Kamau in tow acting as a guide to maximize the barrister's efficiency. Through a combination of eavesdropping and clever conversational cues, the pair are able to learn a significant amount of information about their quarry.

That evening, the group gathers together back at Solace's shop around dinner time. Solace busies herself in the back room, making poultices and herbal extracts to replenish her stock after an unusual influx of local customers mumbling rumors about an undead creature on the loose...

I realize we had a bit of an extended delay last week, but is anyone still around? I'm still here and still willing to go with this.

Sounds like it's time to brainstorm, then. Assume that everyone made it back to the shop that evening to compare notes and make plans.

As for the type of undead... The rumours shouldn't be too specific with regards to creature type, since the general populace might not be able to identify them as such and it may seem strange for them to be using the precise terms. Just include abilities or powers that a survivor or a witness to an encounter with such a creature could report on. Let the hunter draw the appropriate conclusions. And what do we know about the various types of undead? Pyrrius has Knowledge (religion) +6, so if he and others with the skill put their heads together, we might be able to figure something out.
