So I made a mistake with how Damage Barriers worked.
A Damage Barrier is not a shield or reduction. Instead, it is a damage threshold. For example, Charlemagne as a damage barrier of 60. This means any attack that has a base damage of 60 or less is ignored. Anything that is above that value is resolved as normal.
So what that means is that the first attack against Charlemagne would have done no damage (as the base damage of an Assault Rifle is 55 and none of the MLF members had supernatural abilities or something).
However, we'll keep the 6 damage for now. There is a plot reason that I am not making up retroactively that the guy was able to damage a servant, I promise.

Huh. So that's how it works. Still nice. But when/if we level up, I might need to purchase Damage Barrier with some Mystical and Physical armor. Even Gnosis 0 has some nice abilities.
One question though - do I still lose action when not Absorbing and I get hit?
And I'm totally okay with not changing that damage. Plot reasons are the best.
Also, about quite some distant future - how does one upgrades an artifact?

I'm gonna say no. You'll keep your action if you get hit but the attack does no damage whatsoever.
If you want to upgrade your Artifact then it has to be done via PLOT because I don't see any sort of clear mechanical path in the book. If your interested in that, pursue it IC.

Got it. Maybe I should later search for a devout priest or mage? That's going to be interesting.
On this note - what exactly are Blue servants in the chain of command? If I understand correctly, they are under direct command of Tetsuya. Exceptions are like our current mission, when they are put under someone else's command, at least, to some degree. But still, they retain a great deal of autonomy, right?
What about my actions then - ditching the "leader" of the mission and taking over?

Servants do not fit into the structured Blue Clan hierarchy.
If you have any sort of military experience you can consider a servant to be something like a civilian contractor. They don't fit directly into the rank structure, but they can oversee enlisted personnel depending on the circumstances.
In this case, it would be expected of you to take the lead in a combat situation - within reason of course. You still have the overall goal of keeping the clansmen safe.
If you start giving orders then the other blue clansmen are going to follow them (though a leadership roll couldn't hurt!). Most of them know and respect you and trust in your ability to see them through this.

I am posting this to all my games (apologies if you see this multiple times):
I am going to be out of town for an work conference that I was asked to go on last minute. I will be out of town through Friday (the 27th). There will be internet a the hotel, but the schedule will be really hectic and I won't have a lot of time to post.
Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in my game, please note that I will probably not be making an update until Saturday at the earliest.
Apologies and thank you for your patience.

Hey all, just wanted to apologize for the slow updates for this game. My schedule has changed recently to where I am working very long shifts. While this does allow me plenty of time to write dialogue posts, it makes it more difficult to do anything that I need to reference my notes for. Anima is a challenging game for me to do off the top of my head.
