???: hm, very well then.

You only now notice the presence behind you. You were already within the striking range of ???'s servant.

???: Ah yes before I leave. I believe you were looking into the one who poisoned the water supply.

He tosses you a few pictures.
(assuming you look at them) the pictures show a variety of spears imbedded into the ground at various spots throughout the sewer system.

???: Although I have no proof or way to determine their effect, someone has been planting such spears throughout Fuyuki City. I am unable to analyze their effects, nor am I able to do anything about them, however I found traces of magic on them. It's quite possible that whoever is planting those spears is the culprit who poisoned the water. What you chose to do with that information is up to you.

8:00 AM-ish

Elizabeth had known, or at least suspected, that the enemy Servant was likely nearby. She'd been pretty sure that she was moments away from death for this whole encounter.

That didn't make it any less unnerving to find out precisely how close she really was.

She suppresses a shudder. Not the time. "Alright. Thanks for the information; I'll keep an eye out. Is that it? Do you know anything else, anything strange going on?" It would be nice to know if she was likely to run into him while investigating the signatures.

Perception and Insight:
1d20 ⇒ 71d20 ⇒ 18

Amelia studied her surroundings, or whatever was left of it, merely two Servants caused this pure entropy and destruction. She trembled at the thought of having to fight against these monstrosities, and wondered if she would be able to compete against the other mages.

The young magus tried to shake away such thoughts and tried to focus on the task at hand, “So this was due to a Caster and Berserker?” Amelia said softly as she began writing in a tome, “Perhaps we can find some clues about their identity around here, we should make this quick, as the enemy Masters would no doubt come back to erase any evidence if they have not already done so, and I’d rather be in town before they arrive. May I ask for your help in looking around Beast?”

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Observation: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

Sorry for the wait, I'm back now and I'll keep up to date with the posts.

@Elizabeth Craig
???: Unfortunately this is the only lead I have. Since it sounds your target is the person person who poisoned the water, I propose we leave each other alone until he or she has been dealt with. They've caused me quite a few problems myself. well then if you'll excuse me

He turns to leave

@Amelia Abendroth Martelli
Beast: Any servant with any ability to sense magic would immediately know Berserker's energy. Since I specialize in magic it is easy to tell what classes were fighting here with such a large quantity of residual magic in the area
...This smell... It's...Familiar...I probably knew...Berserker...

Beast looks utterly different from her usual bubbly self. she is very serious yet beautiful.

Though there are several other types of damage, the majority of the attacks used appear to be slashes

(Insight to intemperate what this means to you)

Beast: Master someone's coming

(ooc: So sorry with the lack of replies! My computer pooped out on me so I had to get the link again and blah)

Idaliseviel frowned as she heard these words spill from the Harlow's lips. Her hand to be the one to untie the world? That was the least of her wishes, but what did she exactly wish for in another one of these wars? She paused for a moment to think this over, was it the same thing her previous ancestors wanted? Or did she want something entirely different all together? The silver haired maiden shook her head to clear her thoughts, she won't allow the Harlow's words twist and alter her mindset of what she wanted or believed in.

"I hardly believe you can go around questioning what I can and cannot do, Mr. Harlow. Instead, what do think you are capable of doing in this oh so fragile world you speak of?" The young lady asked him.

Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23
Persuasion: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Elizabeth nods and watches him go, pretending to sigh in relief as she waits for the presence of his Servant to fade.

Perception and Insight:
1d20 ⇒ 131d20 ⇒ 13

@Idaliseviel von Einzbern9:--
Christopher Harlow: Hmph. 'what do I think I am capable of.' I don't have to 'think' about what is already destined. I will become the the force that unites the world and steers it to a path of peace and security, with or without the grail. As I thought you have no right to posses the grail with such a lack of conviction, therefor I shall take it from you. To possess the grail is to posses absolute power, therefor it deserves one with the conviction to change the world. I will take control of this world and guide it to a better future without wars or suffering. This is the destiny of the Harlow family.

@Elizabeth Craig
???: Well then I wish you luck with your search Ms. Elizabeth Craig.

and he is gone. His servant leaves your side after you are no longer able to track him

(you need to tell me your next move It is approximately 8:30 for you)

Elizabeth allows herself to relax very slightly. Motioning for Avenger to follow, she turns and continues walking in the direction of the downtown energy signature. After a short distance, and making sure the man is nowhere near, she closes her eyes and concentrates.

Perception and Insight:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 181d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

As far as you can tell whoever was there is long gone, but may have left some clues to their identity or a mana trail you can follow. Avenger lets you know that he lost track of ??? and is on his way to meet up with you.
(luck check)

Elizabeth shrugs and waits for Avenger to return.

Perception, Insight and Luck:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 161d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

I'm starting to resent being the only one having to reveal any stats, though I do realize there's a reason for it.

Not taking any chances, Amelia searched the area for an escape route, however being unable to find one, with only one entrance and exit, she went for the next best alternative. The blue haired magus grabbed Beast by the arm and hid in the nearest container.

Spoiler:

For extra precaution she silently casts an illusioncraft spell (Rank C)
Stealth(5) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

@Elizabeth Craig around 4:45
You find a picture of some girl around middle school that is drenched in an insane amount of residual mana.
don't worry everyone is going to have to give away their stats sooner or later. And the one's you're showing don't exactly give away any weaknesses or advantages.

@Amelia Abendroth Martelli
A girl with long white hair, pail skin, and brilliant blue eyes walks out from some rubble. She is wearing a white dress torn and stained in blood. her Right arm, the right side of her face, her neck, and her left shoulder are covered in bandages.

You can immediately tell she is not human, nor Homunculus. She is without a doubt a servant.

Servant: That is quite an unusual reaction Master of the Holy Grail wars.
[GAME SAVED]

you know you can change what the spoiler says by changing the text after [Spoiler=<type text you want here>]

Elizabeth looks at the photograph. How....impossibly convenient. She sighs. It's probably a plant, a tempting morsel to lure her into some overly convoluted scheme. Unfortunately that doesn't mean she can ignore it.

But now isn't the time. For now, she needs to (finally) investigate that damned energy signature, and run at least one important errand. After that....well, she certainly seemed to have her self-imposed work cut out for her. The poisoned water, the second signature, this girl....she sighed again. She hadn't even gotten into a fight yet. This was shaping up to be a long Holy Grail War.

Assuming she survived that long. She shook her head and waited for Avenger.

Perception and Insight:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 251d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

(you're at the source of the second signature but the person there has already moved on)
dang you rolled good
Avenger shows up and at the same time you happen to spot the fading trail of residual mana that whoever was here has left. You can tell by the way they left it, that they are not intending it as a trap since the way it is left would be both too obvious and dissipate too quickly to be effective as a trap. So this magus must ether suck at concealing their mana, or have something forcefully drawing large amounts of mana from them that they are not used to.

8:30 AM - 9:00 AM -ish

For what seemed the thousandth time that day, Elizabeth sighed, this time in tired frustration. Nothing to show for this trip except a photo. It wasn't even ten in the morning and she already wanted to go back to sleep....well, at least she's still alive. It could've been much worse. She greets Avenger tiredly, shows him the photo, and sets off towards her next destination.

And this trail....well, there wasn't much guesswork to do: It was probably a Master and their Servant. And if what she had read was anything to go by, Berserker was a good guess. That made her chuckle a bit. It really could have been worse.

Perception and Insight:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 111d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

9:45AM(?)

The young magus frowned at the stranger's words. She glanced at Beast before cautiously peeking over the debris she was hiding behind. Seeing a wounded and tattered young girl she instinctively stepped out of her cover to aid the child, only to jump back behind the cover and kicked herself mentally at her own stupidity.

Despite the girl's appearance she is still a Servant, a hero, like Beast standing beside her. No doubt running up to one is tantamount to suicide. Because of the enemy's weakened state a normal person would most likely choose to attack to taking advantage of the situation in order to win the war, but due to Amelia's naivety she could not help but be concerned.

"A-Are you alright? What happened to you?" She meekly asked.

@Elizabeth Craig
You arrive at location and are taken inside.
You see a familiar face that you both respect and despise

Eric Crag: Ah, our little master. What news do you have on the war. I'm certain you wouldn't come here otherwise.

@Amelia Abendroth Martelli
I probably should have mentioned the bandages are clean but this is still a reasonable response

Servant: This as well is an unusual response. Or perhaps you have not realized the significance of my existence.

Beast: Stop joking around. What are you doing here?

Beast is uncharacteristically serious

Servant: Although premature, this was the sight of the first fight between two servants in this war. As per my role I have come to witness the results.

Time: 2PM - 4:30PM
Day 1 of the War
After reading the important parts of the book in the early mourning Damian begins to read the book from page one, and continues to do so until about 2:00 PM

Joseline "Daaaaamian I don't wanna do this stuff any more"

Damian walks up and looks down at her books "Hmmm Idk Jo, doesn't look like you did any of it right, I think u'll have to redo it all"

Joseline "NOOOOOOO DAMIAN" [crosses her arms and makes a pouty face]

Damian "Hahahaha" [Ruffles her hair] Comon, lets go see what the Fool is up to.

Damian and Joseline go to the workshop and see Fool working on some kinda weapon, it kind of looks like a small sword with a chain that leads to a weird oversized handle that fits down the length of a persons arm, the workshop has changed in size since the two have been in the workshop, and many of the devices present before have either been changed or disappeared and been replaced with new devices.

On the wall next to where the painting of Damian and ??? Hangs is another painting, this one featuring a picture of four people around a circular table. One of them clearly represents you, one represents ???, the third is Jo, and the fourth is some girl you have never seen before. the four of you are sitting around a moderately fancy table in a relatively nice room. On the center of the table is a giant gold cup, which you interpret to be the holy grail. The shadows that would normally be on guard for your portrayal appear to be tranquil and calm. You are sitting on the center left, and are staring at the unknown girl, who's appearance reminds you of a beautiful doll. You are staring at her with a look of passion, caring and affection that you have previously only shown to Jo. Jo, seated on the far left looks rather happy, she appears to be eating delicious looking food, and enjoying herself. ??? is the only one of you standing and he is looking down upon the rest of the table with a warm expression. In a word you might consider this room "paradise." Though it certainly isn't one you dreamed of.

Damian: "Hey Fool, whats that your working on?"

Fool: "Ah nothing jeune Damian, just one of my many projects" [continues to tinker with it while talking, almost seeming to not be paying attention to Damian]

Damian: "Well while your doing this I got a list of stuff for you to make, here" [hands Fool a list] "Let me know if you need anything to make this stuff"

(flash grenades, intercoms, a Swiss army knife with nearly endless variation of small applications and a weapon Davinci thinks would suit Damian)

Fool glances at the list "Hmmm yes, for these things I will need (insert what he needs here)

Damian: "Alright I'll be back after I get the stuff and take care of some things, Shade come here"

Out of Damian's shadow appears Shade "Hows it goin boss, got anything tasty to morsel on?"

Damian makes a (-.-) face "You don't eat Shade, now listen, watch over Jo, make sure she doesn't go running off, and if I'm not back by 7 make sure she eats something, got it?"

Shade "Sure thing boss!"

Damian leaves the junk yard and quickly makes his way to the pawn shop a few blocks over and gets all the things Davinci asks him to get.
He then spends a couple hours in the Eastern city area communing with the shadows and asks them to alert him should any mages go through this area and to take note of what the mages look like (50 MP to commune properly if needed)

After a little while he feels he has to stop putting this off. He takes the phone out of his pocket and dials the only number on the phone.
Damian: "Hi....So tell me more about this partnership you had in mind"
(we can PM a conversation from here if you'd like)

Elizabeth stopped and stared, her face frozen in shock, confusion and rage. She doesn't bother trying to conceal any of it.

"....oh G** d*** it. What in the HELL are you doing here?! I knew someone from the family would be here, but YOU?! F***!" she growls.

Amelia grew increasingly worried, her role...? Besides classes does each Servant have an assigned role as well? Or is it because that was instructions given to her by her Master?

Beast's response as put her on edge as she was different from her usual energetic self maybe she could ask what class the Servant is but her inquiry could wait.

They came here to find out more about the battle, and perhaps the identity of Caster and Berserker, however her investigation was cut short as she'd rather not fight someone over it.

"R-Right then, we'll just get out of your way. Good day!" she replied trying her best to smile in this situation

@Damian
???: It's risky to talk in too much detail over the phone meet me at [location] and I'll have some supplies for you too (will FB Conversation with you)

@Elizabeth Craig
Eric Craig: of course I'm here. This is the Holy Grail Wars. Did you really thing we would let you be in charge of it? Your role in it is merely to do the fighting for us.

Amelia Abendrot Marelli
Do you just leave? If so how.
???: You have quite the unusual master Beast.
Beast:...

For a single, glorious moment, Elizabeth has to fight the urge to order Avenger to kill the man before her. Then it's gone, and it's just another meeting. With appropriate niceties, of course.

"Well f*** you too. As it happens I did hope there was enough faith in me, as your chosen sacrifice, that YOU of all people wouldn't feel the need to fly out. Why not some lieutenant or leg-breaker? You know what a phone is, right?" Suddenly, she feel suspicious. Why did the arrogant moron feel the need to be here, in what was now one of the most dangerous locations on Earth, in person?

Perception and Insight:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 281d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

(I'll treat the perception as Intuition. Perception is used to notice important details about your surroundings and people around you that you aren't looking for specifically.)
(He's not intending to let you make a wish on the grail. He's ether paranoid or doesn't trust his underlings to bring him the grail after it's been won. Come to think of it you've never heard of a family being able to chose their representative before...ether way he doesn't seem to trust you (big surprise there))

Eric Craig: Rather than send one person at a time it's far more efficient to immediately send someone to organize multiple forces. This way we have the entirety of the head family's resources involved in the war immediately without having to resort to convoluted methods or such insecure methods such as telephones which can so easily be intercepted by magic. You know we just caught traces of someone monitoring radio waves with magic(you know who you are). Sadly we weren't able to track them. As for safety you are the master representing our family, so long as that is the case it is highly unlikely I will be targeted. So do you have any information regarding the war yet?

It's hardly a shock for Elizabeth to have Eric's lack of trust in her confirmed. It's even less shocking to realize that he doesn't intend to allow her access to the Grail.

The second point, though....how was one selected for the War in the first place? Was it some other power, perhaps a secret cabal within the Tower? Was it actually the Grail deciding, as was sometimes said? If the first, then ok; but if the second, then how? Why? Why would the Grail bend to the whims of the Craigs, of all people? And why her? She didn't want it. Another sigh, this one mostly internal. More problems to figure out. Just what she needed.

But for the moment, she has other things to worry about. Insulting the man before her some more, for instance. "Believe whatever you want to, s***-for-brains. If anyone finds out who I'm working for, you'll find yourself with a great big target painted on your face. And do you honestly think that 'the entirety of the head family's resources' means jack out here? You're nothing compared to most of the real families, and there are any number of others who'd love to get their hands on the Grail." She shakes her head in mock wonder. "But you really think you can do it, don't you? Otherwise you wouldn't be here. F****** idiot." Another shake of the head. "As for news, the situation looks damned near FUBAR already. The city's water seems to have been poisoned, and at least one other Master is as deluded as you - seems to think he can stop the chaos on his own, vigilante-style. Just barely got away without a fight. And there are traces of high-level magecraft all over the city, probably Master/Servant teams. It's gonna be nasty."

Perception and Insight (because paranoia):
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 151d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

"Hah! Who said anything about doing anything alone? I'm just here to more efficiently organize my people, it's your job to fight 'vigilante-style' as you put it. Any thing else? I can't have people investigate things without proper leads."

Amelia sulked at the comment, "Uuu.. Even a Servant thinks I'm weird..." she cried softly before getting herself back on track. If a Servant is here the Master shouldn't be too far behind and no telling how man other unexpected guests might pop up.

The blue haired woman already figured the two Servant classes here, it's a shame she didn't have time to figure their abilities or identities but one shouldn't get greedy. "We were just here for the same reason as yourself; just to investigate but um we don't want any trouble." Amelia explained as she walked around the Servant keeping a reasonable distance. Once the magus made enough distance she should be able to make her escape into town, she wouldn't follow her into a public area. Hopefully. Maybe.

Athletics to escape, observation to keep track of the Servant's movement

Damian: "The [location]? wtf why there?!”

???: "Because it's a safe place where there are no other masters”

Damian: "Whatever >.> how should I find you once I’m there”

???: "Just ask anyone who works there for me”

Damian: "Alright shouldn't take me too long to get there, cya there Glasses" Damian makes his way to [location] walks into the front entrance and goes up to the receptionist desk,
Damian: "Where can I find ????"

Receptionist: “Are you Mr. Damian? one moment please he's been expecting you” she makes a phone call and ??? comes shortly after

???: "Ah good to see you. Come with me." ??? leads Damian to an area that is labeled 'authorized personnel only' Damian closes the door behind them and the two start walking down a corridor with multiple doors

Damian: "So what makes you so important around this place?"

???: "I manage and own this [location]" he hands Damian an ID card "This will let you access most of the facilities in this hospital, should you need them"

Damian:"Thanks *Damian puts the card in his pocket* So you want to work together right? if you expect me to form some kinda ‘alliance’ with you we need to talk about a few things, first of all you already know what I want the grail for, so what do you need it for? A nice set of prescription binoculars?"

???:" Haha, no nothing so trivial. Truth be told I don't actually need the grail to attain my wish, all I need is a moment of time before it is used to study its properties before someone makes a wish on it. As such I want to form an alliance with you, since I have calculated that it is the safest way to attain my goal with the least casualties."

Damian: "You expect me to believe that? With the power of omnipotence and everything you could ever want within your grasp, you simply want to 'look at it'? You already know my intentions thanks to this illusive 'mind reading computer’ you have, but I don't have that kind of luxury. How do I know I can trust you?"

??? stops by a room "please look here." Damian looks into the room and sees a beautiful girl sleeping in a bed hooked up to some machinery, she is about Damian’s age and looks exactly like the girl from the painting. "That's my daughter...as you can see she's very sick."

Damian suddenly feels strong attraction toward this girl, he looks away, confused by his own feelings "What’s wrong with her?, and what does that have to do with my question, it seems like you would need the wish for her" *Damian tries to make his voice sound its normal gruff self*

???: "The nerves that control her body, even those that control her heart and lungs aren't working. Her body has been maintaining its self by using her magic circuits as a replacement, but they are incompatible with her body and are decaying faster than they can be generated. Once they are gone she can no longer replace them. I'm in the process of creating replacement circuits that will regenerate no matter how badly they are damaged. The Holy Grail is made of just such circuits. It has been able to regenerate its self from nearly utter destruction. I only need to study the grail to be able to reproduce its regenerative powers in my daughter. After that you can have it."

Damian: “Makes sense I guess, what’s the kid’s name?"
*he looked at her again out of the corner of his eye*

???:"Irean"

Damian: "Is Irean.....can she last until we finish this war? how long can she stay hardwired like that?

???: "She'll last up to a year and a half if I don't finish my research...although that's only if you can count 8 months of being totally comatose as 'living.' But for now she's just sleeping"

Damian: “So not long” *Damian takes another good look, and has a hard time looking away from her* “Let’s go" Damian wanted to be out of eye sight of her, his emotions for this girl made him lose focus of why he came here "Well that makes things a little better, but there are still things about you that don’t sit right, for one thing, that computer you have, it gives you far too much info on me, if we do become ‘teammates’ I’d like to know where it is and to be able to use it.” The two walk farther down the hall and enter what appears to be a private office. In the room there is a giant screen with an input console that is hooked up to what look like bookshelves of hard drives mixed with magical technology, which farther run large cables down the room into the wall.

???:"I'd be more than happy to let you use it, but without my magic circuits it doesn't work. As for how it works, it merely runs simulations of all possible outcomes of an event, isolates the most likely results and gives you an answer."

Damian: "This looks expensive Glasses, tell me, how rich are you?"

"I was rich, this was, but that was before added my own funds to this machine" he taps one of the shelves "I actually have only purchased 4 of these. The rest are built up from multiple generations of multiple families, pooling together their resources to make a device powerful enough to make prophetic predictions. Simple put, this is about 200 years’ worth of investment from 10 different families."

Damian: "So you’re telling me you have no money? I mean, to own and manage the [location] you must get some good income from that, at least 3 pairs of glasses".

???: "True, I am not poor, but I am currently not rich ether, and the moron poisoning the city's water isn't helping ether. I you need some money however I would be happy to provide some."

Damian: "It’s not that, its just an idea....I'll share it with you if I feel like I can trust you more, for now don't worry your pretty little head about my financial situation, I can get by on my own By the way, you've been pretty compliant with my questions, surprised you don’t have questions yourself, though I guess this machine makes that job easy"

???: "Not exactly, I can see general outcomes and the most probable result of my actions, as such I have seen several different ends to this war. For instance one where I question you thoroughly and end up fighting against you, one where I don't show you this room in which you died and I lost the war, I've even seen one where I have a son and daughter in-law..." he smiles pleasantly at the comment, while Damian blushes looks away at the comment

Damian: "Well I guess you wouldn't want that, I'd probably be too much for you to handle, it makes sense that you'd be afraid to ask questions" *Damian turns back with a smirk on his face "So if you don't want answers then what do you want, nothing comes for free, and it seems like your offering me a whole lot for very little. If there’s one thing I learned everything has a price."

???: "All I want in this world is to see her free to run around in the open again. All I want is to see her happy."
Damian: "I don’t mean that, I mean why me? I've got very little to offer you, and I'm not the most trusting of people, it seems like you would want one of the other however many people in this war, I mean if you have info on me you probably have info on them"

???: "To an extent, however there are side effects to teaming up with any of the others that are less beneficial for example if I was to team up with Berserker's master ...the world would come to an end. Saber, half the planet dies and I still don't get the grail. Lancer, I end up winning the war, but my daughter is already dead. You get the picture."

Damian: "So what I bring to the table is your best chance at saving your daughter, that makes sense…for now I’ll trust you, still I'd like one of my familiars to be here, specifically in this room, so I can know what questions you ask this computer, also I want to know all the info you have on the other combatants, I will seek them out in my own time and work on how best to get rid of them and lastly I want to know all of your magics. In exchange I will share with you my Servant's name, and allow you access to his abilities, I think they would be most useful to you. Sound Fair?

???: "Feel free to leave a familiar here, don't give me any information on your servant, I don't know anything about him/her other than it is of the Fool class, and neither of us like the results of you telling me that. As for servant information, this machine is intentionally cryptic, and often doesn't give specifics, but here is what I can tell you about the other servants is...[left out of game]"

Damian: "Good, It seems I won’t have to do any Glasses stomping in the near future, *summons a mini-shade out of his shadow* I want you to stay here, follow this guy around and report anything he doesn't tell me and anything he asks this computer. *starts walking out the door* If you don't need anything else I think I’ll be off"

???: "Ah take these." He hands you a jar of candy looking pills. "They temperately double your strength magically. Needless to say they won't work on servants. And be careful while using them. they will double your strength speed and stamina for 30min, but after it wears off you will have half your strength speed and stamina for an hour. you could consider it borrowing from your future strength."

Damian:"...thanks, cya around."

Elizabeth snorts. "You f****** are so screwed....and so am I, probably. But whatever. It's your call. No, I don't think there was anything else....oh, if you're gonna have people investigating, I guess these might be important." She pulls out the photos. "That vigilante moron gave 'em to me. He thought they were related to the poison attacks somehow. And I found this one" here she shifted to the picture of the girl, "freaking drenched in mana traces from what I suspect was the Berserker team. Probably a plant, with my luck, but who knows?"

You run away form the dock sight.
Beast: Ah! Master wait!
As far as you can tell the servant is not directly following you out of the area, but it is watching you the whole time, tracking your movements.

Just as you are about to leave the area, *BAND*, you run into someone.

???: Ow ow ow ow... Whatch where you're going. Are you ok?

In front of you is a woman with long blond hair.

Eric Craig: (taking the pictures) Walter!

Walter: yes master Eric?
A butler enters

Eric Craig: Make copies of these then return them to Elizabeth. Send Tarrisa's group to investigate these spears to find their purpose. Tell them to be careful and not directly interfere with them. Also, have someone kill everyone in this picture.

If you are going to call him hypocritical read this reply and continue with what happens after you hear it:

Eric Craig: No not at all, I'm quite well protected. If you want more information, please feel free to ask the moderators at the church.

This is the destiny of the Harlow family.

....what? "....what? Wait, what?! NO! Nononono, no, don't do that! What the hell, you psycho! Don't just kill her! Them! Christ! We don't know who she is or why her picture was there! There's no damn reason to just start murdering people, you sick f***!"

"Well if what you say is true, then it is highly likely that one of the people in this photo is ether is or is closely related to a master. Regardless of how they appear, we must take this opportunity to draw them out. If they are a master they will ether be defeated or reveal themselves as one. And if they are closely related to a master attacking them will provoke said master out of hiding where Avenger can defeat them."

he hands you back the original photos which have been copied.

"You don't have to like it. Just do your job."

Ryder: "Ah yes, my old friend is somewhere off in the heavens, you are simply his representation, hmmm that makes me think do you know everything about me? All my dark secrets that the world didn't know, or are you simply what the world made of you?"

Sentinel: "Idiot. Of course I'm me you moron! And like I could forget any of my comrades in arms so easily." Sentinel kicks Ryder in the face the same way she used to on many occasions while she was alive.

*picks self off of the floor rubbing face* "Ooooh I almost forgot what that was like, well I had to be sure old chum, haha I'm not fully aware of all this grail is capable of. I've missed you a great deal, its been far too long"

Sentinel: "Well knowing you you've probably spent at least half of it asleep." The two continue to catch up on lost time, what Ryder has been up to, the state of the world, politics, the finest drinks to be had, until 2 o'clock comes around

Ryder checks his pocket watch "Well I think that enough for now, let’s see what my men have come up with." *the two walk back into the room where Shadow is. “So what have you managed to dig up for me?”

Shadow: “Not much so far, just a few tips on some of the magic families and a few individuals Ryder might want to take note of” *Shadow hands Ryder a list*

Ryder: *reads over the list* “Alright let’s get started, Shadow gather my protégés *the three protégés gather*Here’s the plan, Shadow I want you to start working on finding out if some of these families have contestants in the war, then find out what magics they use, what kind of resources they have, and what their wishes are if they have contestants.*****specifics left out **********

Ryder: Sentinel and I will go visit the Nishimiyas and the Martellis, they are weak magical families that shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, but may prove a valuable resource. Afterwards I will go visit Ms. Nightingale, hopefully her services are within my price range. *Ryder and Sentinel make their way to the Nishimiyas’ and arrive at around 2:15 to find it’s a small average house.

Ryder: hmmm seems harmless enough but just to be sure (detection magic A 25 mp for magic traps, people and presence…There are two people home and boundary field that detects when people enter or leave the premise)
Ryder: Ah a boundary field, interesting it wouldn’t be too hard to avoid detection, but let’s let them know I’m coming, doesn’t want to scare them off.* walks up to house knocks on the door*

A woman opens the door.

Woman: Yes can I help you?

Ryder: Hello Madam, my name is Baron Von Goolish I am here on behalf of my benefactor who wants to get in contact with as many “gifted" individuals in this city as possible,
if you wouldn't mind I'd like to speak with you and anyone else in your immediate family, your family has been noted to have special talents

Woman: If you're talking about Hikari's hobbies we're already correcting that

Ryder: Ah, sorry ma'am perhaps I'm not being clear, I am referring to your family's magical abilities

Women: I see, so what do you want with a second rate family like ours?

Ryder: Employment madam, our group seeks to pay you for time spent assisting us in recent event, do you mind if I come in?

Woman: Very well come this way. Ryder and sentinel are taken to a small living room and offered seats

Ryder: Have you by chance heard of the "Holy Grail Wars"?

Woman: I can't really say, What's it to you

Ryder: Well in case you are unaware *explains basics of the war, the Grail, servants (though I don’t directly mention that Sentinel is a servant) and I focus on the amount of death usually associated with these events* Our group seeks a swift end to this contest, and for that we need as much help as possible, even if that help is as you say a ‘second rate family’. At the very least we would like to avoid conflicting interests with any mages, so I come to you today seeking your input.

Women: Well I hate to break it to you but Hikari isn't here right now. You'll have to try again later.

Ryder: You've mentioned this Hikari twice now, is she you sister?

Women: Daughter

Ryder: Ah, well if you'd deliver my message I'd be happy to talk to Hikari some other time; could I give you my number?

Women: Sure

Ryder: Right then I'll be on my way then *puts phone number on table* good day madam, hope to hear from you again
The pair leaves the small house as the dour is quickly closed on them.

Ryder: Well that was interesting; I hope some fruit bears from this endeavor, though I highly doubt it. For now let’s go seek Ms. Nightingale then, we wouldn't want someone to employ her services before us. And she will be much easier to persuade at the right price.

9:15 AM-ish

Elizabeth glares back, forcing herself to breath slowly and evenly. "That's not tr-Walter, don't you f****** dare leave- that's not true. I do have to like it right now. This is wrong, Eric. I'm not standing by and letting you flat out murder innocent people here. And come on, you moron, look at it logically. It was stupidly easy to find that photo; it's probably a plant. Maybe someone sending us on a wild goose chase, or trying to get us to get into it with a different team - or to lead us right into a trap of their own. And JUST NOW you were talking about how YOU shouldn't be in any danger because I'M the Master and you're a bystander. Fine. You do this, you escalate things. You put yourself and your people in much greater danger. And God d*** it all, YOU NEED ME. You don't trust me as far as you could throw me, but you still came to me with this job. This will all be a lot easier for all of us if we work together a little bit."

10:00 AM

Amelia quickly made her way towards the exit, looking back the Servant stared at her but did not make any other movements. A chill ran down her spine which made her run even faster, Beast’s voice reached her ears asking her to wait but her fear prevented her from doing so. The blue haired magus felt disgusted at her own cowardice, she apologized to Beast under her breath for the fact that she was stuck with a weak Master.

Lost in thought Amelia plowed into someone outside the docks, “Ah! I’m terribly sorry!” she cried as she bowed several times, and then glanced over the blonde woman for any injury, “I’m really sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was going. Are you hurt anywhere?”

@Elizabeth Craig9:15ish
Eric Craig: the possibility that it could be a trap is precisely why we shall do this. If and when someone DOES respond to our attacks. We will inform you, and you and avenger shall deal with them then. As for my safety, you should go to the church if you want more information regarding that. And I don't believe anyone ever said anything about using "my people" for this job... There are several decent mercenaries in the area.that will suit our purposes quite nicely. And if you still don't like it please feel free to defeat the enemy's servants before they are killed. If you do, I'll be happy to call off the hit, though I can't say how long it will take for these mercenaries to do their job.

@Amelia Abendroth Martelli

???: No, I'm fine...but what's a civilian doing in a place like this?

Beast: Mast~~

???: Hm? Are you perhaps a Magus?

(ooc: Hello friends I have returned, Finals have ended! So I'll be more free to reply from now on.)

9:15 AM (ish?)

Idaliseviel blinked curiously at the Harlow before her, she rested her elbow on her arm that was wrapped around her waist and rested her chin on he back of her hand. "Oh? You seem pretty firm and set on with this noble duty of yours. I just find it funny how you proclaim how it's your duty and how it's destined to be something by the Harlow family, yet you still need the Grail's help on achieving this?" She started, pulling her hand away from her face as she smiled at the man.

"If it was destiny, then fate must be cruel to taunt you with this noble task, since it's been how long since the Holy Grail War has been going on, but the Harlow family has yet to end pain, suffering, and war just in general? It seems like to me you're the one actually lacking conviction in the war." The homunculus ran her hand through her long, silver hair.

"I'm not saying your cause is pure, because being the unifying hand to guide the world into bliss is very honorable. I'm just not sure if you're doing this out of your own free will, or if it's been thrusted upon you by your own family members." She pulled up her hand and covered her mouth, "Perhaps I said too much and made too many assumptions. If so, my apologies, Mr. Harlow." The silver haired maiden then curtsied to show some respect.

Elizabeth stared at the man before her. Disgusting. It hit her harder than she would have expected - for all her raging hatred off him and his ilk, she had still assumed a certain basic humanity. But here he was, refusing to back down on the matter of MURDERING A YOUNG GIRL AND HER CLASSMATES. She really wasn't going to get anywhere at this rate. She continued glaring in disbelief. "Alright, how were you planning on finding her?"

@Idaliseviel von Einzbern9:15ish
Servant: Insolent little girl. Did my Master not make himself clear? He does not need the Grail, but finds it quite continent.

Christopher Harlow: That's quite enough Ruler. Is it not a king's duty to hear the gripes of his subjects?

Ruler: Indeed, however it is also a king's duty to correct the follies of his subjects.

Christopher Harlow: Ah that is quite correct as well. Indeed it is as Ruler says I shall accomplish my goal with or without the grail. My conviction is far greater than you could imagine. This destiny is not one that was forced upon me by the universe, nor the Harlow family. It is one I took with my own two hands, and the blood of my brother.
[GAME SAVE 2]you may start at the first or second game save sections should you get a bad end. (you were supposed to make a will save to see if he persuaded you that he deserved the grail more than you, I will consider it as if you passed that check)

@Elizabeth Craig9:15
Eric Craig: haven't you been paying attention? I'm not going to do anything. Mercenaries will do all of that. If you are that insistent on saving them simply kill whatever master or masters are connected to the three of them and I will force the mercenaries to stop. Oh and by the way Walter has already contacted them "of his own accord" of course. I suggest you hurry or you If you want to be first.

(you sense something that makes you feel very uneasy coming from the basement, but you cna't go investigate it right now)

A surprised expression appeared on Amelia’s face. Once again she found herself in another predicament, it was safe to assume the lady in front of her was also a magus, in the worse scenario the Master of the Servant she met earlier. Like before the girl would preferably avoid confrontation so she would need to choose her words carefully.

The girl took one, two steps back and kept her guard up. “I-I am,” she replied softly, “We came to inspect the storm last night but realized it to be too hazardous to linger any longer.” Amelia stayed quiet for a few moments before deciding that she should try to get some information too, “Um.. W-What about yourself?”

???:Me I'm a detective, so it's natural I'd be at a suspected terrorist sight. What's your name?

”A detective, it should be safe to share information with her, plus if I don’t tell her anything she may wander into that white Servant and get herself hurt.” the young lady thought as she let out a small sigh of relief.

"My name is Amelia, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," Amelia stated with a bow, "Unfortunately there is a powerful familiar per-se at the scene so it would be rather dangerous for you to go in alone, but I was able to find some info before making an... unsightly exit.”

The blue haired woman took a quick peek at her Servant before returning her attention to the blonde in front of her. “It wasn’t a terrorist attack but a fight between two magus, whether they themselves were at the scene I cannot ascertain, but they were using their familiars to do battle. Um... the nights will probably become more dangerous from now on so a PSA telling civilians to stay away from open secluded areas could help. Oh I’m sorry I never got your name.”

Elizabeth stared in disbelief. "You mean you....you just gave the order to have several random people killed....with no more information than a d***ed photo I found on the ground? How....why...." She had a headache. This was actually causing her physical pain. It took a moment for her to wrap her mind around the truly monumental idiocy and lack of concern for anything even vaguely resembling basic human decency - or common sense - being displayed by the man before her. "How....how were you planning to confirm that? These are MAGES, some of them could probably fake that s*** easily! What if this causes incidents beyond the sanctioned scope of the War? How in God's name are they even supposed to FIND them, what if they just slaughter their way through a bunch of schools?! How am I supposed to....AND FOR CHRIST'S SAKE, WHAT IN THE GOD D***ED HELL ARE YOU DOING IN THE BASEMENT?! F***! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"

Idaliseviel frowned upon hearing the Harlow's answer to her question. They were just going to continue to talk in circles at this point and it was starting to bore her really. Although, she managed to irritate him enough to reveal what class his servant was, a Ruler class. She used her peripheral vision to glance at her maids standing beside her who seemed to be on alert, being sure that there would not be any change to harm their mistress. She knew with them around, and Saber being even closer, she didn't have much to worry about. She made a choice to decide to ease off the subject, to see if she could manage to leave without any more conflicting moments between the two. After all, fighting in daylight isn't something she wanted to do, especially this early.

"If I push him more, I might risk myself and my servant into battle, but that would allow more insight about what Ruler is capable of, and that gives us more information about a servant in this war. But at the same time, that's risking our well being since I'm unaware of his potential. I guess it'll be safe to just back off now unless forced to battle.

"Very well, if you insist, but I'm not very convinced." She sighed as she adjusted a strand of her silver hair behind her ear, "I believe that's enough chatter for today, I do have other plans; I hope I haven't interrupted your daily routine as well." The Homunculus gently picked up the ends of her dress and pulled at it lightly to make another, elegant, curtsy.

Renei Milllrose: "Renei Millrose. Don't worry about me, a familiar or two is nothing to worry about. You must have arrived in town recently because there was already a similar warning issued a few weeks ago after a string of murders. As for the Magus involvment that much was obvious. Truth be told, I'm currently hunting down a group of illegal Maguses who are using Magic to commit crimes... here's my contact information. please contact me if you find out anything that might be a lead."

she hands you a busness card and starts to walk off in the direction you came.

Eric Crag: What are you talking about there's nothing but supply storage in the basement. And are you REALLY that stupid. Of course that's not all we're doing. Regardless of whether or not I trust you, I'm not telling you the whole picture because if I did, it would totally wast the point of separating you from our main support network. The Church will protect Magus family members not directly involved with Masters you D#^b A$$. So just shut up and do your job until Walter gives you more information!

@Idaliseviel von Einzbern
Christopher Harlow: No, no, did you really think such a meeting between two families as powerful as ours at the start of the war was really coincidence?

you have a really bad feeling.

Christopher Harlow: you 'aren't convinced'...Unfortunately, I am!

This should normally be a DEAD END, but since I didn't give you enough clues nor prompt you to role to find out how to get out of it, I will give you one last chance to change fate, or you can re post from saves 1 or 2 your choice. I will post the original DEAD END here under a spoiler so people can see what they look like.

DEAD END:

Christopher Harlow: YOU ARE NOT WORTHY TO COMPETE FOR THE GRAIL. Therefore I will take it right now!

before you can speak a presence appears behind you

Saber: !!!

Ruler: Your opponent is here Saber! Hah!

*clank* Ruler rushes forward with sword in hand clad in full armor, and crosses swords with your now materialized servant.

???Servant: Tsukiyo Oukami no Kiba.

A sharp blade runs through your side, slicing clean through your body. As your conscious fades you look up to see the blured figure of a samurai.

Christopher Harlow: Good work Assassin. well then it's tim~ ~~.......

Tiger Dojo! (read if you can't figure out what you did wrong!):

Taiga Sensei:DOHOHO! WE HAVE OUR FIRST LOST SOUL!

Bloomers Ilya:YAYH! But sensei nether of us have appeared in this game. Is it really ok for us to be doing the help screen?

Taiga Sensei: Don't worry about it Ilya! This is just the DM making the game feel like the actual visual novel!

Bloomers Ilya: Oh I see. But sensei why did we even have the option of getting a DEAD END in this RPG to begin with.

Taiga Sensei: That's a good question Ilya! ...

Taiga Sensei:...

Taiga Sensei: Why is that?

Bloomers Ilya: Buhuhu...Se~n~sei~ you're supposed to know that...

Watcher: This is because in order to move the story along we have to put characters in position's where there life is threatened, however if the player makes a wrong choice, they could die there and be killed off too early or in ways we don't want to happen.

Bloomers Ilya: AH! A third person appeared!

Taiga Sensei:Who are you?!?

Watcher: Watcher. As I was saying rather than telling players what they can and can't do, the DM has decided it's more interesting to let the players make what ever choices they want and see the results, and then let them try again from the most recent point at which they could have saved them self.

Taiga Sensei: Ah I see.

Bloomers Ilya: Sensei! Don't sound so surprised!

Watcher: Well when it's convenient the DM will prefer to Deus Ex Machina save the characters' lives, but at some points of the story this just doesn't make sense...

Watcher: Shouldn't you be giving the players advice?

Bloomers Ilya: AH! That's right! Sensei! HOW COULD IDALISVIELC_CHAN HAVE AVOIDED DIEING AFTER MEETING THE HARLOW B@ST3RD?

Taiga Sensei:GUTS AND COURAGE!!!

Bloomers Ilya: Eh???

Watcher:*sigh* In other words she wasn't aggressive enough once she met Harlow.

Bloomers Ilya: AH! I see... But wouldn't being aggressive have provoked an attack sooner?

Taiga Sense: Indeed! However the first mistake was meeting Harlow in the first place. Though this couldn't have been avoided by the player's action since it was decided by the dice gods and can't be changed now. Since running into Harlow in the early stages of the game is always a bad thing Idaliseviel needs to think of not how to avoid any losses, but rather how to minimize her losses.

Bloomers Ilya: I see, but how does she do that?...WAIT DID SENSE JUST SAY SOMETHING THAT MAKES SENSE

Taiga Sensei: *whack*

Bloomers Ilya: ITAI! *sob* I'm sorry...

Watcher: Since Harlow possesses the assistance of a servant that can attack people in public locations without revealing itself, namely Assassin, baiting someone else to attack before Assassin gets ready to assassinate her is a good idea.

Bloomers Ilya: That's not fair two against one... But wait how was she supposed to know Harlow has Assassin with him without meta gaming?

Watcher: that is exactly why she is allowed to redo this section of the game.

Bloomers Ilya: Ah I see.

Taiga Sensei: So she should basically have baited ether Ruler or one of Harlow's body guards into attacking her in the open, since Harlow would just order the assassination faster.

Watcher: Also, players should note that making Intuition checks are like asking DM for advice, as long as you don't make them every or every other post.

Bloomers Ilya: Well then that's it for this lesson!

Taiga Sensei: Buhu! I hope more people get DEAD ENDS since this is the only place the three of us get to show up!

Bloomers Ilya: Actually sense...We might be appearing in the story...

Taiga Sensei: WHAT TRAITORS! The possibility of me showing up is almost none.

Watcher: Actually I have already shown up in the story.

Taiga Sensei and Bloomers Ilya: EEEEEEEHHHH!!!!!!

Boomers Ilya: WHEN!?!

Watcher: Fufufu...

Bloomers Ilya: THAT'S NOT AN ANSWER!

Watcher: Ah! We're out of time.

Bloomers Ilya: WAIT!

“No! Nonononono! Wait! Please wait!” Amelia pleaded as she stood in the detective’s way, there’s no telling what may happen if Renei runs into the Servant earlier, and she couldn’t tell her about Servants and Masters, but she needs to do something.

“If it was a regular familiar I wouldn’t have deemed it was dangerous either, but I suppose that the term familiar is incorrect, as they’re more akin to ghost liners. In addition two of them fighting each other caused the destruction of the port, they’re not to take lightly,” she explained as quickly as she could in one breath.

And now Elizabeth is seeing red.

What. In. God's. Name. Was. The. F***ing. Point. Of. Seperating. The. Lynchpin. Of. Your. Entire. Puppy. F***ing. Operation. From. The. God. Damned. SUPPORT. STRUCTURE.

There is no logic here. There is nothing approaching good planning or sense. Why was she cut of from the the lion's share of the resources of the side she was supposed to be winning the War for if THEY WERE LITERALLY INCAPABLE OF WINNING THE WAR WITHOUT HER? THAT WAS THE ENTIRE POINT OF HER INVOLVEMENT. It would make more sense to just lock her in a damn room at this point, and keep her fresh and not dead for any Servants that the poor, unsuspecting mercenaries can't handle on their own! And if the Church was oh-so-reliably protecting family members and associates, and if her side was explicitly relying on this, then WHY WASN'T HER SIDE INVESTIGATING THEIR MURDER TARGETS BEFOREHAND TO ENSURE THAT THEY DON'T OFFEND THE CHURCH? WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?

She desperately forces herself to say nothing, because if she says something it will probably be either an inarticulate scream of rage or an order to Avenger to wreck s***. After what feels like an eternity, she feels confident enough in her control of her faculties to grind out, between the carefully regulated breathing and in a last ditch effort to not be the only member of Team Avenger, besides possibly its namesake, not operating entirely on stupid-juice: "Why, exactly, are you going after these people, then? Are not they likely to be protected by the Church as well? Would not it be in your best interest to not piss off the people you claim to be relying on for protection?"

(WELP, LET'S GO BACK TO SAVE ONE.)

Idaliseviel blinked at the Harlow's sudden questioning. "My hand being the one to guide the world into peace? That's surely a very nice thought isn't it? And certainly something hard to obtain within this fragile world." She paused for a moment before having a warm, yet almost mischievous smile pull across her pale cheeks, "And yet, I don't feel very pressured about this daunting task. It would be a shame for this world to crumble in our hands and fall through our fingers, I rather like it in Fuyuki."

She delicately laid her hand on her chest, "I believe I have been the one who is blessed with the Grail's power, being from a prestigious family that has been in this war since the beginning itself, I'm the one who should best deserve it, no?" Another small smile appeared on her face, "There are reasons why the Grail always chooses certain families each time it reappears, and what I want, in all honesty and kindness, is far more deserving than your cause. I want to do more than just unite the world, Mr. Harlow. I want to make sure the glue never wears out or falls apart again, and be sure that it's secure enough for years and years to come."

@Amelia Abendroth Martelli
Renei Millrose: (cracking her knuckles)Sounds like fun. But that's also all the more reason I can't leave my non Magus colleges there unattended. You're welcome to give me backup if you'd like, but I won't force you.

@Elizabeth Craig
Eric Craig: Are you seriously listening to your self? I JUST SAID WE AREN'T DOING ANYTHING. If they are protected by the church that would immediately let us know they are connected to a master, which will narrow down the search for masters. You really think we are stupid enough to not be prepared for the church protecting them?

(You realize he's right. you've know him to be arrogant, temperamental, unfriendly, and stubborn, but not stupid. The only thing you're accomplishing here is making your frienemies more and more unhappy with you. By separating you from them and your information sources, enemies can't use them to find you. By having Walter personally higher mercenaries, 'of his own accord' Walter is the only one risking the loss of the church's protection, and thus the only one besides you risking his life. And since he's already contacted mercenaries, every second you spend here is a second those three girls and the people around them could be getting closer to death. If anything this plan has put time pressure forcing you to achieve results faster.)

@Idaliseviel von Einzbern
Christopher Harlow: That's quite an interesting theory, however, I do believe the Einzberns have only participated in the holy grail wars due to their role in the creation of the grail, not any current qualifications. By that logic, an individual who has participated for the past 3 wars, would be far more qualified than you.

(I probably haven't clarified well enough, but you need to get the Servant mad not Harlow, since Harlow is planning on using Assassin anyway)

Amelia bit her lip, she didn't like fighting yet despite her pleas Renei seems excited. "How reckless..." the magus thought quietly to herself, reluctantly she made a small nod and replied with a trembling voice, "Alright, I'll come, but if it becomes dangerous please retreat."

Elizabeth controlled herself. Barely. Fine; it wasn't her fault if he wanted to be stupid about this. Immoral? Underhanded? She expected that, if perhaps not to this extent. But this kind of carelessness....she shook her head in frustration, focusing her glare on the man before her. Either he wasn't as smart as she had always grudgingly believed him to be, or there was more at work here. She really wasn't sure which option she liked less.

But either way, no matter what her "family" was doing, she had her own work cut out for her. And the first item on the list was to head off those mercenaries and get a handle on the situation. "Fine. Was there anything else, or can I go?"
