You find a secret door on the base of the monkey paw statue and also find tracks of the raiding party leading off into the jungle.

Actually there is only one set of tracks leaving and the secret door in the statue base. There is no indication that anyone has been in there recently.

The idol does radiate magic. You can spellcraft it for flavor. The rest of the stuff is mundane treasure.

The module actually does not get specific as to the length of the trek. For the sake of being merciful, we'll say it required one night of rest along the way.
