Samhain Galanodel |
I'd say he misses. I'm 20 feet below him, haha.
Samhain Reflex: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Buho Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Samhain Folio Reroll: 1d20 + 12 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 3 = 29
Buho is unable to avoid the firey blast this time and falls to the ground, skin and muscle burnt to ash.
Buho is dead
Samhain moves to take cover behind a pillar, drawing a wand which he uses on himself.
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8
"We need to end this! Now!"
Hugo Victor |
The two Bralani are toasted, and disappear, back to their planar home in Elysium etc.
Hugo reflex : 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
believe that leaves Hugo at -9 hp .
Hugo Victor |
if Savage killed her on the first hit, could he have picked up the ring?.
Hugo Victor |
ok just checking...I was not sure if just having it in possession would matter :) .
Hugo Victor |
I forgot about a folio reroll... I do not believe I used mine yet.
reflex, GM star : 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 = 31
Hugo Victor |
Hugo will don the ring and command the Phoenix to help us (either heal the party or attack the remaining swordsman) . If Savage died, Hugo would consider breath of life on him but not sure if that is guaranteed to work, since Savage would have to don the ring or we will all be cooked .
Hugo Victor |
Hugo dons the ring, activates it and commands the Red a raven...
"Assist our party to the best of your abilities, either heal us for the damage you caused us or take out the remaining swordsman.. "
Samhain Galanodel |
Not to be nit-picky but that's a 20 ft drop. Acrobatics to negate?
Samhain steps away from the man and uses his renewed energy to fire at the man.
Multi+DA+Favored+PBS: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34
2d8 + 32 ⇒ (7, 2) + 32 = 41

2d8 + 32 ⇒ (3, 3) + 32 = 38 additional
Hugo Victor |
Sorry I could not use breath of life on you Savage. Just out of curiousity, if Hugo casts the raise dead and restoration, is that any cheaper than paying for an NPC? Seems like it should be...assuming we get out of here.
Hugo bends down to inspect the fallen barbarian for any sign of life.
"Alas my friend, it is too late for you but the fight is not yet lost . "
He casts cure serious on himself.
cure serious wounds: 3d8 + 11 ⇒ (2, 8, 5) + 11 = 26
Assuming the raven continues to assist us. If Hugo needs to command it, he will.
drbuzzard |
Ok, the main cost associated with raise dead is the gem of 5000 GP value. That's the issue. The cost involved in hiring someone to do it is fairly low (450 GP). Of course you also need the restorations (2 since you get 2 negative levels from raise dead) , which has a 1000 GP material component each. The caster cost on that one is only 280 GP. He was talking about using prestige, and nothing you do has an impact on that.
The Phoenix, er Raven will continue to engage the designated target until it is down.
Samhain Galanodel |
Would already be prone from falling damage. May have made my shots miss.

Hugo Victor |
Hugo will continue to command the Phoenix/Raven to attack the remaining swordsman while he moves toward the others. If the swordsman falls, he will request the Raven assist/heal the party. Hugo will also cast Heal on Ezrek or whomever is the most down.
"Is that the last of them? I need assistance here. I fear we have lost brave Savage in that last blast. He is beyond my ability to heal. We need to regroup and rest and I may be able to restore him or teleport us to someone who can."
drbuzzard |
The fighter and Phoenix both take damage from Ablin's bomb.
Fighter reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 2 fail 11 damage
Phoenix reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 2 pass (yes, I am not kidding) 5 damage
The Phoenix will drop the hammer on the fighter with his last fire storm.
damage: 18d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 3, 1, 4, 3, 4, 4, 1, 5, 6, 1, 3, 3, 2, 1, 5) = 60
Fighter reflex save: 1d20 ⇒ 13 fail
The fighter goes down in a heap after the brutal scorching. He is breathing, but barely.
Combat is over.
The Phoenix has 2 more heals or 3 mass cure criticals.
Hugo Victor |
Hugo looks around at the remainder of the party.
"Do we need to interrogate this last swordsman before he expires? I am not sure if we have all of the pieces to this puzzle we have been chasing."
Samhain Galanodel |
"If we know what ground our quarry is running to, I do think we need not spend time questioning his henchman. Stabilize him if we must, but we should proceed quickly. What of this creature? Shall we bring it along?"
At this point, he notices his fallen feathered friend and retrieves his lifeless form, crisped plumage falling from its body with every motion. Wrapping his late companion in a cloth, Samhain attaches the owl to his belt, muttering something about hoping his successor will fit into the armour. He seems oddly at ease with a deceased owl hanging in such a manner...
Hugo Victor |
Hugo nods to the Raven
"Indeed. This ring has done too much damage already. We appreciate you helped to repair some of the damage caused while under its control. Unfortunately, we are unable to bring our friend back with the ring. To save you from falling under its control, I will destroy it. Do you know anything of those who used it against you?. "
Hugo will pull out his adamantine axe and find a place to set the ring.
Hugo Victor |
"Do you know where and when this execution is to take place?. "
assuming that other than Savage, the rest of us are healed. Do we have time to rest and have Savage resurrected of are we still in pursuit...if so, that is a problem .
Samhain Galanodel |
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 5) + 3 = 11
CMW: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 7) + 3 = 14 full
Samhain quickly hits himself with his happy stick before heading forward. "Running murderer, pending execution... If we did not require answers so desperately, we may just leave him to his fate."
drbuzzard |
"The trial I believe is under way as we speak. It is being held in the Montrose manner above us. There are stairs leading up at the north end of the cavern. From what I understand of Galtian 'law' the execution usually follows immediately after the trial. There is a guillotine set up for just that purpose already. "
Hugo Victor |
"That would figure. No rest for the weary. We must stop this execution before it is too late."
Ezrek Filosten |
Ezrek stretches his sore muscles and gingerly touches his newly mended injuries. "No time like the present." He says as he begins taking stock of his extracts and recharging a few minor ones.
Hugo Victor |
i am assuming the raven heals us up to full. Can it provide any buffs before we leave!? Also are we leaving Savage here with the bird? .
Hugo says a quick prayer to Abadar before inventorying his spells and resources for the day.
"This long day makes me want to reconsider coming out of retirement . "
drbuzzard |
The phoenix is able to make sure everyone is topped off HP wise. He does not have any buff spells beyond healing ones (or restoration for that matter, but again after raising you still still need the material component for level drain).
"I will be happy to guard your fallen comrade while you intercede above. Noone shall be allowed to do him any further ills. "
drbuzzard |
You head up the indicated stairs.
The secret door from the tunnel leading down into the Raven’s Roost opens into the false facade of an altar in an austere chapel dedicated to Abadar, Master of the First Vault. Numerous lit candles flicker from shelves built into the whitewashed walls, which extend thirty feet to end in what must be some sort of spire or steeple. The upper walls of the structure bear huge stained-glass windows. From the light illuminating their colorful scenes it’s clear you’ve emerged onto the surface. Two huge double doors on the far wall, about 20 feet away, stand open just a crack, revealing a sliver of the courtyard beyond. Several figures throng the yard, jeering and yelling. Inside the chapel, though, all is quiet.
The map has been updated.
Hugo Victor |
Seeing the crowd assembled, Hugo will step back from the door and quietly reach his hand under his sleeve to activate a sihedron tattoo (22 temp hp for 3 mins).
In hushed tone...
"Well, gentlemen. This looks like the right place. I am low on inventory for a prolonged fight. As a temple of my patron Abadar,
I may be able to try subterfuge, but my guess is the chance of success is slim."
drbuzzard |
Since you did mention subterfuge, there was a Red Raven Costume hanging on a hook on the inside of the secret door you just emerged from. If you are so inclined, you can try to assume that disguise.
As you recall Red Raven is the 'people's hero' of Galt, and does command a lot of respect.
Yes, for some reason, unless people express interest, they magically don't notice the costume.
drbuzzard |
Peeking through the crack in the door Samhain sees:
More than a dozen angry Galtan citizens throng the narrow courtyard of the keep, crowding around a tall wooden guillotine erected on the far end. Four tall, gaunt human men wearing long gray coats and armed with sturdy halberds patrol the angry Mob, keeping the peace while at the same time cheering along with the bloodthirsty crowd. Howls of “off with his head!” and “death to the noble traitor!” emerge from the loud din of the rabble. A richly garbed man wearing an absurd hat festooned with ribbons and badges looks down on the crowd from atop the courtyard wall, unfurling a scroll and preparing to speak. As the crowd shifts to reveal the guillotine, the focus of all the anger becomes clear. Kneeling in the mud, his neck exposed to the guillotine’s blade, is a dark-haired human man dressed in familiar red leather armor.
“Aric of Halvon,” screams the hat-wearing man atop the courtyard wall. “You stand accused as an enemy of the Red Revolution and a sworn foe of the People of Galt. By my decree, you are required to grant us the magical password that grants access to Montrose Keep, so that the ill-gotten gains of your evil nobility can be distributed to the good people of Galt!”
Samhain Galanodel |
"This looks grim, my friends. We must act fast, but with what course of action? Shall we don his crimson garb to distract them? Or just bust in?"
