Good Morning Pathfinder Players,

I am currently opening recruitment for a homemade Pathfinder campaign. The setting will take place in the fictional world of Epiphany, which I will outline after recruitment has taken place. The campaign will focus mainly on social encounters and mythology, but combat will still occur on a regular frequency. The intent of the campaign is the story and the adventure.

Campaign and backstory notes:
1 post per day, and be patient, as I will only be making between 1 and 2 posts per day due to my online time availability

Will take between 4 and 6 players, depending on interest and character balance

Backstories will be written after recruitment as all players will have their bios intertwine.

Recruitment is open until Friday, at which point choices will be made. Over the weekend I will outline the world of Epiphany to the players and the backstory writing phase will begin

Crunch notes:
20 Point Buy

Any Class (no psionics)

Any Race (within reason)

Two traits

150 Gold for all classes

Any alignment is welcome as long as its not CE and you can work with the party

Class alignment restrictions are lifted, Paladin's can be any good or neutral, Antipaladins must be any evil. Monk's must remain as any lawful.

Clerics and any class that require a divine patron; please do not designate a Pathfinder god, let me know which domains you want to use and I will designate a god to you in the backstory phase

Gunslingers must be of the dwarven race, as dwarves are the only race with the secret of gunpowder in this setting

I will try to answer any questions

Galdor de'Rivenwild Elven Bladeboud Kensai Magus. I have no problem posting every day. I am still relatively new to PBP, but am enjoying it. If you do not like this concept or it does not mesh well with the rest of the chosen group, I have other characters I would like to play.

Class is good and we can work out a bio after recruitment. For the time being, set up an alias and crunch up a character sheet with everything.

I'd love to play a Dwarven Gunslinger.

I'm thinking of a Gun Tank, but if you'll allow the Mechanist I'd love to play that instead.

I am very experienced with PbP games and very reliable.

Do you want builds now, or would you rather pick first?

I will start off by saying that I'm not a fan of 3rd party classes and archtypes, but the Mechanist will fit in really well with the setting for this campaign, so please go ahead and make a build with that if you prefer that over the gun tank.

And Please go ahead and make builds, its one of the items I will use for determining the group. Just no background information yet

This is my basic guy, let me know what you think. I will be working on the stats in the meantime. ;)

Hello, I'm new to PbP I just ran across this post before heading off to work and I'll like to put myself into consideration. Currently I'm thinking of playing a Cleric, Druid, or Bard. I will edit my post by tomorrow sometime with the build that I decide on.

-edit- I will be going with a Half-elf Songhealer Bard, as I mentioned before I will post my official build by tomorrow,

Seems my last post was eaten by the forum. Well this is my guy, he just needs gear.

Doomed Hero here. Here's the avatar I intend to use. Mechanics to come tomorrow.

Hello. I'm also somewhat new to PbP but I am very active. I am very interested in playing a Elf Rogue. I'll be posting a build soon.

can't wait to see the builds, and I hope to see more apps as well

I submit Senadyne Deepblood. Hope he makes the cut.

Apps so far:

Soris Inkcaller - Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer
Boomer Bellowpiper - Dwarven Gunslinger (Gun Tank or Mechanist) (waiting for crunch)
Narkari Evergreen - Female Elven Rogue
Senadyne Deepblood - Male Undine Summoner

Good apps so far, looking forward to seeing some melee fighters and divine casters

This is SuperUberGeek

Thanks Galdor, adding one male elf kensei bladebound magus to the list!

I'd like to throw fenis, a life oracle, into the mix he was made for another Campaign so I may need to change some things.

And now the refreshed list of our applicants:

Soris Inkcaller - Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer
Boomer Bellowpiper - Dwarven Gunslinger (Gun Tank or Mechanist) (waiting for crunch)
Narkari Evergreen - Female Elven Rogue
Senadyne Deepblood - Male Undine Summoner
Galdor de'Rivenwild - Male Elf Magus (Bladebound Kensai)
Fenis - Male Human Oracle

Surprised I haven't seen any barbs yet

Hey, Tierce! I hope your RL fun-ruiner resolved itself in the best way. This is the GM from your game as Mierra, by the way. I'd like to submit a male human cleric. He will focus on melee combat and will carry a banner proclaiming his devotion and inspiring his allies. He fights for freedom for all, and will take the liberation and glory domains. I'm on my tablet right now, but I'll get the alias set up tomorrow.

Crunch is (mostly) up. I just need to sort out my equipment and go fishing for a couple traits.

@Jacob - Hey Jacob! Looking forward to seeing your app. My RL issues were unfortunante and I do miss the online campaigns, which is why I'm going to start GMing this. Just can't join any others as my online time is limited

@Boomer - Looks good so far, what type of firearm are you aiming for? Get it, aiming for, puns are awesome. But in all seriousness, musket? blunderbuss? or pistol?

@Scrappaper15 - did you have your app and crunch ready?

Hey, Tierce -

I need to have a free hand to carry a banner, so I was wondering if I can have a double purpose flag/spear, maybe with some sort of attack penalty. If not, I'll just ditch my shield.

I will allow either a flag spear, or the ability to have the flag mounted on the back of your armor, similar in concept to how samarai's would have their flags. The choice is yours.

As for how the flag/spear would work, the only penalty would be from TWF, so the penalty would be reduced if you took the TWF feat

As for flag design, wait until the writing phase if your app is chosen and we can go threw that

Just converted this thread to a campaign, so you may now notice the tabs.

I just posted a brief look at the history of the world of Epiphany in the campaign info as well as a world map, so if your interested, please have a look. Although this won't be important until the writing phase.

Edit: If no other apps come in, I might take all seven of you, or eight if Scrappaper makes his bard. The only part that I am uncomfortable with is that we have no main class front liners (monk, fighter, barbarian) or even a bard. We have two arcane casters and a hybrid arcane character (magus), would any of you be willing to re-roll as something else?

I might be willing to. I love Character creation............ I'll reroll a front liner when I get home.

Read the world info, interesting to say the least. I have my eye on the Raven Isles, a good spot for say a little hideout or piracy. Maybe grab one upon retiring make us a little kingdom. So many ideas. ^.^

P.S. That jade tower has my eye, getting the itch you know.

Funny that you mention it, the Raven Isles are actually a pirate hideout. I didn't go into that much detail on it until we get into full swing, but its very similar to the Shackles.

As for the Jade Tower, there might be a hint there for much later in the campaign

And Senadyne, I also love character creation. I remember just making characters for the fun of it back in 3ed. And I appreciate you looking into making a front liner

No problem. I also went crazy with 3rd ed. I think I still have the folder with 25+ level 1 characters, somewhere.

Need to do some tweeking for this campaign, but here's a druid for consideration.

Ghanymae Syntheab wrote:

Thanks Ghanymae, just need to add in those feats and take out your customization for Kingmaker. Also, Aasimar Druid, not a usual choice for a druid, interesting to say the least

I have a Barbarian I would play. Give me a little time to clean him up and I will post him. He was originally a rolled character and his stats are way better than 20 point buy. I will convert him and post him buy this evening.

Well when I think tower my mind jumps to mage and how I will steal his home for myself. ;)

As for the Raven isles well Soris was originally a high lvl sorcererous enchanter tattooist that made his fortune from pirates that liked his work. Guess the pirate stuff just follows him lol.

Well I will say that the reason its on the map is that its a well known landmark that can be seen from the coast, and it glows green in the sunlight, so it received the nickname of the Jade Tower. But no one has gone to explore it as no sane man would set foot into the dead swamp

I would love to do the back-mounted flag holder. I will be a dedicated front-liner, too.

@Jacob - Good choice, looking forward to seeing your crunch.

As for roles, if we do get one more front liner, then we should have 2 of everything, which will be good if we have any player turn over or such

This is GM_Jacob's submission. I decided to take the Liberation(freedom) and Glory(heroism) domains. Do you happen to know what my deity's favored weapon will be? If it is one-handed, I will use that, but if not, I will ditch the shield. I do also have one feat left open depending on what type of weapon I will be using. I have purchased a flag, but I have not detailed it at all yet.

Your deity with be Praetor and his favoured weapon is either of the following: Longsword, Bastard Sword, Great Sword or Gladius

Hey is there a magic god, that one god deal kinda goes against my nature. ;)

Btw about the jade tower, sense when are adventureres considered sane?

Soris Inkcaller wrote:

As the campaign deals with alot of mythology, I can't go into detail on that question as it will possibly ruin parts of the storyline. As far as your character is concerned and knows, there is only one god, and he is Praetor. If you dislike that concept, then use it in your character concept, that you dislike that there is only one all powerful god :)

This is SuperUberGeek's Barbarian

Edit: Read the campaign setting. It sounds like fun.

Senedyne Deepblood here with my front line alt, if you still need one.

DM:
Can I re-fluff the Two-Bladed Sword? Basically, it separates into two blades that, by themselves, are too unbalanced to wield, much less fight with. This way I can carry them in separate sheaths and with my quick draw feat, it my look like a Two-Bladed Sword materialized out of nowhere (a tactic I can use to make Intimidation checks if I desire).

dm:
I'm currently working on trying to get this character into two games. For your game, the only change would be to swap place names and remove the trait pioneer.

@SuperUberGeek - Barbarian looks good, so does Magus. Which do you prefer to play? With Darius, your Magus is a better choice for the campaign

@Darius Vladicus - name is awesome, especially for this campaign setting. Also, you can refluff the two bladed sword, but it will still be difficult to wield if you don't have TWF. If I can make a suggestion, if your going to use two weapons, go with two katana or urumi's. Same damage, but increased crit range.

I have never played a magus and would like to. If it fits, I will play it.

Alright, here it is. I decided to go with a morningstar primary weapon instead of a favored choice. Everything else should be in order.

One more day of apps and I will be making the decision on Friday morning, at which point we will start the bio writing. So far our applicant list is:

Soris Inkcaller - Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer
Boomer Bellowpiper - Dwarven Gunslinger (Mechanist)
Narkari Evergreen - Female Elven Rogue
Darius Vladicus - Male Dhampir Fighter (Weapon Master) or Senadyne Deepblood - Male Undine Summoner
Galdor de'Rivenwild - Male Elf Magus (Bladebound Kensai)
Fenis - Male Human Oracle
Isaac of Steyr - Male Human Cleric
Ghanymae Syntheab - Female Aasimar Druid

Will probably pick between 6 or 7 apps, depending on a few factors

There would only be an issue if I attempted to attack with both ends, just sticking to one attack will work just fine, it all in how you describe the strike. And I appreciate the suggestion, but what I have in mind thematically needs this weapon.

Given the lack "heavy hitters" I think I'll stick with Darius.

GM Tierce wrote:

Heh. Nice.

I'm going with a Blunderbuss. It's in the Combat section. For some reason I didn't put it in my equipment list (probably because I hadn't started it yet)

Also, it looks like the Mechanist doesn't really stack with the Gun Tank. There's a couple of later-level overlaps (You can see it on the chart at the bottom of this page).

I think I'll take a level of Fighter next to get myself Heavy Armor, but starting out I'm not going to be much of a tank.

@Darius - good choice, I will update the app list

@Boomer - We should honestly be ok for the first few levels unless you guys bite off more than you can chew

@Narkari, Fenis and Ghanymae - after looking threw your characters, I noticed that you app'ed these characters to other campaigns. Did you get into those other campaigns? I would have preferred if you would have made a character strictly for this campaign. If any of you are willing to make a healer strictly for this campaign, then your in.

Recruitment will completly close tonight, but at this point I have only one spot open for a healer class (preferably a female as we seem to be having a sausage party). I will wait to see if Narkari, Fenis or Ghanymae comes back with an app just for this campaign.

Which also means the following characters will be exploring Epiphany:

Soris Inkcaller - Male Suli Tattooed Sorcerer
Boomer Bellowpiper - Male Dwarven Gunslinger (Mechanist)
Darius Vladicus - Male Dhampir Fighter (Weapon Master)
Galdor de'Rivenwild - Male Elf Magus (Bladebound Kensai)
Isaac of Steyr - Male Human Cleric

Congrats guys, I will get the discussion thread up shortly so we can get a jump on writing your backstories
