Any who have herolab portfolios of their characters please send/ resend them to me.
Torvald I'll go through the Written in Blood discussion thread and update you by hand. Let me know if anyone else needs me to update them by hand.

Play will begin in earnest starting Friday.

btw I'll inactivate Written in blood on Friday. I need time to poor over the threads before I close it up. Also go ahead and dot the game play thread even if you don't want to post anything thanks.

Silver Crusade

I have arrived! Guys I still have a pile of gold left over, should I spend most of it on another attempt at making Fireward Gel? I'd like to be able to contribute to a fight once you're in melee but not splash my allies to death.

@Torvald - It can't hurt to mix up another batch. If it takes a full minute to apply, we're going to have be pretty good at guessing when we're heading into combat to avoid wasting it, but the one-hour duration should help.

Jamir will need an updated hero lab por. from you (I got your tracking sheets and boon). Craggark, Jawhar, and Analia I got your updated por's. Torvald I'll look on the written in blood thread and Update your character with your new purchases. All of you let me know if you want to buy anything before you start adventuring. Do we still have the Nag of Holding? I'd like to stow some gear, if there is room.

Does anyone think we should invest in some shelter (a tent)?

male Snows of Summer

GM hint The Nag won't fit well in this one. Best to leave her back in Kalsgard or Dalun, where you'll kick off this adventure.

Jamir has a large tent, which would sleep all of us (3 medium, 2 small). But it's carried by the Nag, because it weighs something like 40 lbs. But if we're going to Whitethrone, hopefully we won't have much use for it, or need for a pack animal.

@Jamir: I could carry the tent instead of my alchemist's kit--we'll just say I packed it up and left it with the Venture Captain for safekeeping? Since dwarves aren't terribly bothered by encumbrance we'll have it if we need it. Doubt I'd have time to craft anything in-mission anyways.

OK guys and girl. As we're getting ready to kick off I'm going to introduce a couple of Game Master privileges suggested by some of the GM's at the Flaxseed lodge.
1. Players will no longer roll for initiative instead I will roll on herolab and post the initiative order. This could save hours and in a few cases a day of play time (waiting for another player to roll before you act is always a drag).
2. All perception checks will be rolled by me with one exception: Perception checks in which a player wants to intently study, look at(for) or, listen to(for) a person, location, or thing. The later perception check will always count as a move action; where as the perception checks the GM makes for the characters are always free actions. ( I will study each player's character sheet in order to garner any circumstance bonuses they may receive like a Ranger's favored enemy or a familiar being within arms reach. However, if there's something you feel I might miss without pointing it out please let me know) please note this should not discourage the players from asking questions about the information they already received on free perception checks ie.."does it look like he's armed" or "does the water look cold?" "the whispers I heard,..did it sound like they were arguing?"

You can assume that if: something or someone that, you're using a perception check on, is not mentioned, or a particularly important fact (about that item or creature); then you either failed the perception check or the important thing(person) you're trying to perceive doesn't exist in this encounter. Example: the men attacking you indeed wear red socks...just like the men you're looking for. If I din't mention that the men were wearing red socks, you either didn't see it, or they weren't wearing red socks.

Lastly, all searches for traps, hidden compartments , hidden loot, and such must be declared by the party or set up in some default manor. (ie. "GM every hallway we explore, the thief ranges out 20ft in front moving 1/4 speed (half for stealth and half again for checking for traps) the party always remains 20ft behind unless a fight breaks out"...)

That's the only changes I'm implementing for now; however, I would like you guys to develop default procedures for opening doors (in dangerous areas), sleeping (both at an Inn and camping/ resting in wilderness or dungeons), and lastly a default marching order for 5ft wide corridors and 10ft wide...
(overland marching order would be nice as well ...ie is someone out front scouting?)

I'm not enforcing the default procedures immediately. Each adventure they may change. However, it would be nice to have some kind of default procedures eventually ... because when 6 ghouls ambush in the middle of the night, I know who to paralyze first. hehe...

Well, we don't have a scout (anyone with stealth or a particularly high perception), so there is no point to scouting. Ditto with trapfinding.

Marching order: Craggark in front, Jawhar behind, little people in the middle (Jamir toward the front, I imagine)?

Jawhar->Torvald->Lia->Jamir->Craggark.

Camping watches?? I've never been clear on how to create a watch schedule. In campaigns where this has been important, there has been someone who knew what to do and organized the schedule.

There's a link to our new google docs folder in the description of the campaign. Give me a day or two to retire "Written in blood" as an inactive campaign. (still need to update Torvald and it's convenient for me keep the campaign up top until I do). The documents that Runa had on her were translated from the cipher and in one case (Runa's Pass) a modified Secret Page spell was dispelled to reveal the true contents of the document. Included in the parcel will be a letter from Benarry (that I'll write up tonight or tomorrow morning), a map of Irrisen, the 2 notes found on Runa, and a small satchel of gold for traveling expenses to Dalun.

male Snows of Summer

Regarding Plisk, any questions you ask him are met with grunts of agreement or disgust while he sits down and enjoys his rum. He is a plot device to get you into the opening act of this adventure. Sense motives reveal he is not happy about being suddenly ordered to the Iron bound Isles; in fact from your previous
experience you know he's not a big fan of the North period.

Plisk is not amused by complaints about the chest and could care less if you follow Benarry's orders or not. He is truly just the messenger. Excessive complaining in front of him just causes him to loose, what little respect he may have had for you and your group. The key is, indeed the key for the chest. You may choose to open it or not. If you do open it the contents/consequences are below.

contents of chest:
The chest does indeed contain a variety of documents related to various Pathfinder lodges throughout Golarion. Some of the documents contain membership rolls and financial information. Others have historical or geographic information. Most are encoded in a semi-complex cipher
(DC:18 linguistics) and/or seem to use a language other than common. A few of the more mundane documents about locations of well known Pathfinder lodges and commonly visited archaeology sites have been left un-coded. As a whole this information might be quite valuable in establishing patterns or used to investigate and or track particular agents careers as they moved through the Pathfinders ranks. But, as for it's immediate usefulness to your party...there is none.

Torvald try as I might I just cannot find the post where u made the smoke sticks only the post where you threw the red one. How many did you make and what colors?
Here's what I got for your gear as of right now. (besides bombs)
Acid x4 (crafted)
Alchemical glue x2 (crafted)
Alchemical solvent x2 (crafted)
Alchemist lab
Backpack
alchemist formula book (boom book)
cold weather outfit (free clothing)
fireward gel (crafted)
liquid ice (crafted)
shard ice x3 (crafted)
smelling salts
smoke pellet smog x2 (crafted)
trail rations x4
spring loaded wrist sheath (currently empty)
Chain shirt
light crossbow
10 crossbow bolts
spiked gauntlet

The only magic you carry is your con mutagen
And you've pre-mixed cure lt wounds and shield extracts..

You currently have (according to my records 2XP, 3PP and 574gp, 3sp, 7cp {not accounting for any smoke sticks I haven't put on your character sheet or any other item you may have}) If you want the Precious Vindication boon.. I suggest you do the survey today as this may be the last day you're able to. You'll then need to scan it and send me a copy for me to include it in your character record (no rush on the second part).

Go ahead and give me feedback on this when you can. thx...
PS. I noticed you don't carry a waterskin or anything to light a fire...these things might prove useful in future adventures..also you cannot read in the dark with darkvision only. You must at least have candle light. (Darkvision is nearly akin to infrared)

I have to agree with Jamir here:

PRD wrote:
Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black-and-white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise—invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision."

No mention of not being able to read.

Sorry folks - trouble with the Paizo website again. Seems to be a DNS issue - I can't get to it through my home network, but I can if I go through a VPN service. Not just my DNS service blocking it, that would have a specific notification window. I'm traveling for work the next few days, though, so I'll be on VPNs or mobile anyway. I will try to update before I take off, and then will post next from the City of Brotherly Love.

Torvald you can PM or any of the guys ur currently playing with (I think they all know PFS rules better than me) regarding Torvald. As you finish up your current scenario it's perfectly acceptable to assign your GM chronicle sheet to him. If you're playing in tier 4-5 you'll not be able to "credit" that chronicle sheet until 4th level (in fact you must). So in effect, let's say you play in my game through 3 and 2/3 levels (8XP). When we finish the very next scenerio that gives us 1 XP or more (taking us to 9XP or 4th level) Not only would you assign the chronicle sheet I just gave you (and receive any boons for it you earned) you'd also receive the chronicle sheet for the scenario you GM'd way back when.

Furthermore, you have access to all the boons for tier 4-5, get the additional gold for tier 4-5, full XP (usually 1) and full prestige (usually 2) no mater if your players earned those rewards are not!
I actually leveled Shaman to 3rd lvl without ever playing him! When I hit 5th level I'll automatically jump to 6th level because I assigned my Giant Slayer (hill giant's pledge) chronicle to him!

For a person that doesn't play alot (of PFS) this is a great way to have a mid-high level PFS character on hand in case that's the only game playing.

You assign the chronicle to a specific character# on the reporting site immediately when you credit the game, but you just won't count/apply the "paper" chronicle until you level as luckless described.

The reporting should always be done as soon as possible but as I have been told on many occasions, it is a back up to the paper chronicles for the players.

As a side note, I ,along with many people, have been unable to reliably access the forums to post till just recently. They have been posting about it over in flaxseed so cruise over there to see what's been going on. I lost my connection and was surprised my last post in the gameplay made it in.

yep many of us have had trouble connecting. Thanks for the clarification on the chronicle sheets. I think we'll just stick with Paizo forums for now people. If becomes an bigger issue we can move the game to a different medium.

Please complete any purchases ect.. by tonight 06/05...I'll try and post another thread in Game play tonight followed by one in the morning..

I sent my dropbox link to Analia's herolab portfolio last week sometime, but never got a response back so just let me know if you have any questions or had any issues. That should let you always access the most current version of the file, every time I save it.

That's what I did as well. Let me know if you have any trouble accessing it.

I expect Paizo will work out the website issues over the next few days, so it should be anything more than a short-term issue. If there is ever a period of extended downtime, I think Lucklesshero has email addresses for all of us, and we can figure out next steps that way. That said, I also try not to compose any post of more than a sentence directly in the browser.

Well aren't you *Mr. Fancy-pants-offline-text-editor-user* then. ;)

Seriously though, that is a rule I think of often, but seldom follow, sadly to say. I do Select All and Cntrl-C often though, thankfully.

A friend of mine signed me up for Keep of the Huscarl King and it just so happened to be the same game that you are in Luckless! I just took my name off the list and moved the wait listed fella up so you still have a full group, but I thought it was funny that it happened.

My friend is a good role player, and his character, Spackle McGapfiller, will be fun to have with you.
