Yzgar the Runt |
...please lock me up in the storeroom ...
Yzgar shrugs. "Suit yourself."
Yzgar goes over to the doorway where Johund stands watching. "So what's going on out there?"
He looks out just in time to see Gormly strike a telling blow with his sword. "Aw, Razmir's Balls," he curses under his breath.
He makes a gesture and whispers a word that Johund can't quite make out, though he can feel his hair stand on end as magic flows from Yzgar's hands and his eyes glow pale yellow for a moment.
Casting daze on Gormly. DC 14 will save or he is dazed for 1 round. Hopefully that will buy Luthian some time to put this idiot down.
Luthian |
"Lucky shot!" he grunts. But still a smile on his face as he goes for another hard jab

Johund Struckland |
Johund frowns as Gormly's knife finds purchase. "...daresay the storm's got worse."
Tempted to return to the fire, he hesitates. Luthian shouldn't be left to bleed, even if he had started the scuffle. Someone had to cover Johund's retreat if things got ugly.
He glances out at Gormly.
Well, uglier, anyway.
"I'm gonna regret this," he grumbles, running out into the rain. He nears Luthian, clasping his hand on the man's shoulder. Rivulets of rainwater mingle with the graylight,
dispersing the glow of Johund's spell with a singular gloom.

"Yer Majesty, Court's convenin' inside. Best finish up now."
Luthian |
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
"You are out matched coward. So I do hope yo accept your fate" he growls at the man. After he gives his timely healer a nod of thanks

"At least I have friends... unlike you" he throws one more punch. Hoping to finally put the guy down for good

Luthian |
Even how fun it would be to pummel his face in. He grabs him by the hair and drags him to the house
"Thanks again for that timely save my friend" he thanks him again
"lets go and see some justice done" as he enters the building he drops Gromly at Svetlana's feet
"I found this piece of trash near the outhouse m'lady. As the owner of this establishment, what would you like us to do with this trash?" he smiles very casually

Yzgar the Runt |
Yzgar curls his lip in distaste as Gormly's body is dropped onto the floor.
"Leave him outside, for Pharasma's sake. You're messing up the lady's nice floor."
Yzgar looks the body over.
"Does he have anything of value?"
Luthian |
"I don't think he does..." he shrugs then looks at Svetlana again
"Up to you m'lady"

Yzgar the Runt |
Yzgar raises his eyebrows. "I don't see how having this fool around would help us in that regard," he says.
"I could use magic to convince him I am his friend, but then he will still be cross with all of you, Luthian particularly. It won't make him forget. And my spell won't get rid of what loyalty he has to Happs. Seeing as he has a grudge against you he would still see Happs as the one to save him from you."
"No, if you have no information you wish to squeeze from him then I say dump him in the latrine and be done with."
"You have to be careful and cunning in the use of a charm spell. It would work best if we could determine ahead of time which men liked Happs the least, or who were mistreated the most. When the rest of us appear, those men, once charmed, could be told that 'now is their chance to break free of Happs!' Alternatively, if we can discover which of the other men is the most ambitious, I might be able to convince him that killing Happs would let him rule the band, and that now is the time to make such a challenge."
"A charmed man won't act against his own interest, so the trick is to give him cause to think your proposal is in his interest."
"I could actually cast the spell on their horses, if they have any. That would actually be easier as horses don't have the kind of guile that humans do."
Luthian |
Luthian listens for a while and nods
"Besides. I think they will be here soon. He was watching the gates when I went to... meet... with him. So be prepared" he looks down at the mess at his feet
"You heard the lady... come on" he begins to drag him to the back where he was to spend the rest of his short life

Yzgar the Runt |
Actually I do not think that would work. Horses are no person, charm person only works on humanoid!
Not for Yzgar! (evil grin) He has the serpentine bloodline, which allows enchantments that normally target only humanoids to be allowed on animals, magical beasts, and monstrous humanoids. If they are language dependent then the spells allow them to understand me.
Bloodline Arcana: Your powers of compulsion can affect even bestial creatures. Whenever you cast a mind-affecting or language-dependent spell, it affects animals, magical beasts, and monstrous humanoids as if they were humanoids who understood your language.

Maren Azurill |
"That would be ideal, yes.", nods Maren at Svetlana's suggestion, his face displaying severe annoyance at Gormly's continued existance within his eyesight. "What an absolutely repugnant individual.", he shakes his head, standing up. Smiling at Ysgar, he shakes his head in amusement. "Truly, it is easy to know what motivates horses. Or mules. Speaking of which...", he shrugs. "I'd need to take care of ours.", he sighs, pulling up his hood. And I so hoped for a warm meal before bloodshed. Granted, it's better after., he thinks as he moves outside to take care of Supply and Demand, the two mules tied to the house, as he takes them to the barn.
DM_Keddah |
As Malen is tending to the mules and Luthian disposing of Gormly's body they think they hear something through the storm
Yzgar the Runt |
Yzgar listens carefully, trying to make out the nature of the sound.
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
"Sounds like company has arrived."
He looks at Svetlana.
"If you still want to be tied up in the storage shed, you better get out there. Is there rope in the shed? I have none."
He looks at the others.
"We don't have time to make much of a plan... but at the start it would be better if I can't be seen. I'm going to hide in the barn and look for a spot that I can see out of."
Yzgar heads out to the barn. Once inside, he looks around for a knot-hole or crack that would allow him to see out into the courtyard. Preferably up in the hayloft if there is one.
Johund Struckland |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Johund immediately hunches over, drawing his cloak about him to diminish his size and vigor. "Pharasma won't be lookin' on us, kindly or otherwise, if I got a say in things. Now git."
"Gents, the time's come to prove our mettle 'afore the gods and men. Here's hopin' we impress 'em. Hanspur guide yer sword arms." Johund steps toward the back of the room, but maintains a position near the center of his companions.
Maren Azurill |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Hearing the words from the other side of the pallisade, Maren finishes tying the mules and quickly sprints over the muddy ground to retreat to the main building. Walking through the door, he nods at those already inside. "I've caught that Gormly's friends are behind the pallisade.", he shares, drawing his rapier. Smiling at Johund, he runs a finger along the blade. "I will take that offer, Master Struckland. Hanspur and whoever else chooses to gain us their guidance.", he nods politely. "Would we be proceeding with the challenge to single combat, or have you decided for a more... direct approach?"
Evil_DM_Keddah |
The door creaks as it opens to show a man astride a horse followed by at least other six on foot. They all look armed, angry and tired.
Consider Columns to be letters A, B, C... to AD
Rows as numbers 1 to 24.
I'll try to post a numbered version later but I'm having trouble with my home computer.
Please tell me in which square is everyone.
Ratna "Rat" Mahajan |
Rat straightens up at the mention of Happ's arrival, and takes a quick account of where their allies have placed themselves. They consider trying to hide, briefly, but opt instead for finding a place by Maren. They may not be able to be of much help in the real fight, but the least they can do is add their voice to the negotiations, and keep the duelist healed.
In case it isn't clear, wherever Maren places himself, Rat will stand beside, but a space behind him. Also, I'll be out of town the next few days, so I'll be stuck posting from mobile. Shouldn't be a huge deal, but figured I'd give a heads up.

Yzgar the Runt |
Yzgar's exact position would depend on the availability of holes in the wall of the stable that he could see through, which would presumably be random. but it will preferably be towards the south end of the stable by the east wall. Barring that I'll open the south door of the stable a bit and peer through the crack between the door and the wall.
Evil_DM_Keddah |
Yzgar the Runt |
As the men enter the enclosure, Yzgar mutters to himself and his hands make some strange passes under his chin, while watching through a small hole in the wall.
Yzgar's first action will be to cast charm person on the horse Happs is riding. Will Save DC is 15. I won't try to tell it what to do just yet.
Luthian |
sorry for the delay. Babyshower/storm party for my wife was this weekend
Luthian will stay inside in till needed. He was still slightly bloodied from his fist fight with, the now corpse, Gromly

Johund Struckland |
Johund steps nonchalantly from behind the corner. "Happs's men. Change of plans. There's trespassers from the wood. Gormly's already ridin' ahead. We's about to leave ourselves." He smiles mischievously, showing yellowed teeth. "But we's told to wait on you, on account you'd have instructions for us. So how can be be of service?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 1 = 15
Evil_DM_Keddah |
The man smiles at Johund Well, I'll be fucked sideways with a sword, I'm pretty certain you're not Happs' men but let me confirm it he turns his head to the right and in a falsetto voice says Are these your men Happs? he turns left Of course they aren't you fucking idiot he answers himself in a deeper voice.
He turns to Johund, his smile even wider There you have it! he motions to his men to ready their weapons Now, if you'd be so nice to introduce you, I take you have killed Gormly, can't blame you that cunt was disgusting. But I can't let anyone murder my men, that's something only I can do. he looks to the clouds pensively Can you pay or shall I strip your corpses?
Maren Azurill |
"Pay?", asks Maren, his hand resting on the laquered hilt of the rapier. "I am afraid we've no intention of paying anyone. Customary practice is people paying us.", a smirk appears on the elf's face. "However, since it appears pragmatism is a trait of yours that I share, we would be willing to offer a deal." He pauses. "A bit of frontier culture, so to speak."
He paces around. "I would like to extend a challenge to you, Happs. I would duel you for the leadership of your band.", he explains, putting his palms together. "I'm led to believe you've lost some of your men already, while you've no idea how many of us are here. You could choose to attack, and live with the consequences of rash behaviour.", the elf's arm waves over the encampment, where undoubtedly many more fighter hid. "Or, you could even tighten your reputation among your men by showing a fancy city elf who disrespected you in front of them why you should truly lead them." He leans on the cart, fingers dancing on the rapier's hilt. "Well, would you choose to display spine, or are you simply a wretch choosing to hide behind numbers?", he smirks.
Evil_DM_Keddah |
Happs smiles at Maren Calistria's cunt! And they say elves have amazing sight! You've mistaken me for a gentleman. Was it my fancy clothes? he says as he gestures smelling the wet leathers covering him Or the high company I keep moving his arm in an arc towards his men Or is it just you think I'm fucking daft? his smiles widens giving him a maniacal semblance If you had the numbers I'd be as dead as that fat idiot Gormly. I'm getting tired of this game. Kill them.
Everybody roll for initiative. Those out of sight (Felix, Yzgar and Luthian) get to take a surprise round
Maren Azurill |
Maren sighs. "I mistook you for a reasonable psychopath, Happs, nothing more, though it seems my judgement was premature.", he says, as the rapier flies out of the scabbard with a flash. "It would be a shame to dispose of a perfectly good group of entrepreneurial thugs, however. Finite resource.", he remarks, assuming an elegant Kyonin stance, one foot in front of the other and a hand behind his back. "Gentlemen! When I relieve your leader of his vulgar tongue, I would be happy to accept your surrender!", his voice carries over the encampment.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Or not! Could I recommend we all put out initiatives under our profiles, so that the GM can roll - it really speeds up PbP, same for saves, if everyone's alright with it.
Yzgar the Runt |
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
First, Yzgar shouts at the horse, who he has already charmed.
"Agaibh marcaiche ro-iochdmhor! Thilgeil dha agus an uair sin e breab-steach an t-salchar!"
Free action to speak. This will obviously give my position away, though they won't know exactly where I am.
Opposed Charisma Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
He then murmurs a few words and points at the largest man in the enemy group (aside from Happs).
Standard action to cast charm person again. Will save DC 15.
Opposed Charisma Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Luthian |
Initiative : 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Unless I can charge one of them. I best take my time to strike when needed
