Journal:

22nd day of Lharvion - The group comes together at the Cracked Mirror inn for the first time. Aeyra arrives on her own to retrieve stolen property from a man rumored to frequent the Cracked Mirror. Lianna and Blaze arrive together after having met Jess and placing bets on the next days Race of Eight Winds. Akasha, Silian, and Vannevar arrive together after having foiled an attempted robbery.

23rd day of Lharvion - The group meets Lady Neris and learn of a potential job recovering a stolen artifact. They are led to a gambling hall to watch the races from its balcony. Blaze wins, breaking even. When they return to the Cracked Mirror, Lady Neris awaits them to take them to her Mistress. The party agrees and leaves with Neris.

Kaelys explains that her house was broken into and a stone statue's hand stolen. She shows the party a corpse that was killed by her magical traps. She explains that a cleric questioned the corpse and learned that it was the Ravers of Fallen who stole the statue, and are seeking to reassemble the statue of the radiant idol Sythrael. She offers the party 600 gp for the recovery of the hand, 600 pp if they can recover the entire statue. The party accepts the quest, as well as the invitation to dine and spend the night at Kaelys' home.

24th day of Lharvion - The party is given some two days worth of rations and the use of Kaelys' Skycoach. They depart at first light and make their way to Fallen. The group convinces an old woman to take them to Blackstone Church to meet with the Priestess Faela. Faela is able to use the description of the tattoo on the dead man's hand to identify that the man was a reaver from the Stone Keepers tribe. She shows them on a map roughly where they can be found, in a place once called Colrac Hall.

While there, the party meets a gnome named Balthazar. Balthazar had come to Blackstone Church in search of a Priest renowned for his work in alchemy. Balthazar arrived only to learn that the Priest had passed away some time back. While at the church, Blaze feels that he is meant to stay in Fallen and help the people by establishing a forge and teaching of Onatar. He asks, at Faela's suggestion, if Balthazar might take his place in the group to search for Lady Tela's property; Balthazar agrees.

Shortly after leaving the Blackstone Church, the group encounters a group of four Blood Drinker reavers. Things begin to look hairy, but a stranger arrives claiming to be an ally and helps level the playing field, changing the score in favor of the group. Once the battle has ended, Silian dismisses his Darkness and the group gets to take a good look at the newcomer.

After some initial tension, Bosramir is accepted into the fold and quickly forms a budding friendship with Aeyra. The group moves on towards Colrac Hall. Along the way they come across a skeletal hand protruding from a pile of rocks. After a little digging around, several items of use or value are recovered. The group is disheartened at the discovery of a child's skeleton. The tragedy of this place settling into their minds, they continue on in a much more somber mood.

Upon arriving at Colrac Hall, they find the doors fallen off the hinges and broken glass spread across the grounds as a spire from the great Glass Tower protrudes from the roof of the hall. Choosing to secure the area before resting, the group runs across the Night Stalkers, a group of somewhat less barbaric and more civilized reavers. The leader, Kra, is able to speak enough common for a truce to be made between the two groups. He likewise takes a liking to Aeyra, and offers her a dead rat and a place among his tribe. Aeyra respectfully declines. The group is able to gather some information about the Stone Keepers from Kra, and are told about another passage that they can use to get into the tower. The group decides to spend the night locked in the feasting hall with the Night Stalkers.

25th day of Lharvion - The group wakes early and after a brief discussion with Kra agree to be shown the external entryway to the tower, but Kra will not accompany them into the tower.

Entering the hallway, Aeyra opens the first door she comes to and is immediately set upon by three Horrid Rats. Akasha readies Color Spray and urges the others to move back. Aeyra chooses to enter the room on her own, and is regrettably attacked by the Horrid Rats and her life is ended. While the others battle one of the rats that left the room to attack the group, Aeyra's body is consumed by the remaining rats.

As the battle wages on, a strange Warforged appears and advances on the group. Hailing Silian, he announces himself as an ally but Silian refuses to believe him and so shoots him with his crossbow. Meanwhile, Balthazar begins chucking bombs into the room, doing quite a number on the rats. Demise seeks cover from Silian's crossbow and the two shout to one another over a distance until Silian finally consents to allow the Warforged identifying himself as Demise to aid in the battle.

After much struggle, the Horrid Rats are defeated and the group takes what they can salvage from Aeyra's half-eaten corpse. At Silian's insistence, they decide to return the way that they came so that they can heal and Balthazar can prepare what he needs for more bombs and mutagens. After they have made their preparations, it is decided that they will check the room that they skipped the day before.

Upon opening the door they find that Vannevar's suspicions were correct, they are faced with two more Horrid Rats. This battle moves much swifter as one of them is rendered unconscious instantly through Akasha's spell. With only one conscious rat to fight, and the hallway preventing much movement, Bosramir is severely injured once more as he tries to make way for the others to enter the room. Akasha likewise suffers injury, but remains conscious. Still, it does not take long for them to kill the conscious rat and with it out of the way they easily dispose of the unconscious rat.

After healing his allies, Silian discovers a narrow wooden box with a silver lock. Balthazar spends a few minutes attempting to get the box opened, but is unable so the box is stowed for later consideration. Moving on, the party comes across a room that was once used to wash laundry. There is evidence that someone else has recently entered the room. Vannevar notices that the basin in the corner was moved and then slid back into place, he asks Bosramir to help him move it away from the wall after seeing a box hidden behind the basin. Together they retrieve a crude wooden box that has been nailed closed. Lacking the tools to pry it open – and not wishing to take Balthazar up on his offer of throwing a bomb at it – Vannevar tucks the box away for now.

As the party leaves the room, they hear a faint singing. After a moment, they determine that it is coming from behind a closed door across the hall. As they make whispered plans on how to handle the situation, Balthazar suggests simply knocking. So, the party knocks at the door but the only response is that the humming grows louder for just a moment before becoming faint again. Balthazar decides to knock harder, but when he does there is a click and the door opens a crack. When the door is pushed open all the way, they find that there is no one at all in the room. However, when Akasha enters the room, the singing gets louder and a ghostly apparition appears.

The battle with the Allip goes poorly, leaving half the group hypnotized and Bosramir befuddled from the Allip’s touch. Akasha wisely decides to drag Bosramir out of the room and closes the door behind her. After a moment, the singing becomes faint again. Akasha then slaps her hypnotized allies, waking them from the spell.

Vannevar then points out an opening near the ceiling of the hallway, where the Glass Tower cuts into Colrac Hall. He is able to hoist himself up and into the opening, where he then lowers a rope to aid the others to ascend. It is darker here, and everything is upside down but the cages that are bolted to the floor turned ceiling can’t be missed. The room breaks off into a hall that curves around, Vannevar scouts ahead until he reaches a closed door with no sounds coming from the other side. The party makes their way to the door, and after listening carefully they open it to find what was once a bedchamber.

All of the furniture is now smashed and lying in random heaps, most likely it was broken and tossed around during the fall. There are two doors in the room, one to the left and one straight ahead. Balthazar opens the door to the left to find what was once a laboratory. Amidst the smashed jars and tables, there is evidence that horrific experiments were once staged on living beings in this room. As Balthazar looks closely, he notices an inverted stairwell at the far right of the room… and the floor is littered with skeletons. It is discovered that some of the skeletons are canine, and some are intact. Balthazar, thinking ahead, throws a bomb into the room.

Two of the canine skeletons, which Silian was easily able to identify as being those of blink dogs, rise from the ground and a battle ensues. It is a close call, but the group is able to destroy the reanimated skeletons and decide after that it is best if they rest for the night. Demise is asked to take first watch while the others sleep.

During the night, everyone suffers from strange hallucinatory affects and terrible vision like nightmares. The visions all seem to be of the same event in which a group of robed, chanting men sacrifice a woman on an altar. Behind the altar is a stone statue of a beautiful man, who each somehow knows to actually be the radiant idol, Sythrael. They are unable to interfere with the sacrifice, nor are they able to save themselves as the ritual somehow causes the Glass Tower to fracture and then fall.

26th day of Lharvion – Ayumi and Xing have made their way through Fallen and to Colrac Hall, following a vision that Xing received. They are not certain why they have come to this place, only that they must. Xing is forced to send his glidewing to the rooftops to wait for her to call her when they find that the glidewing will be unable to make it through the small opening into the Glass Tower.

They make their way to the bedchamber and first open the door across from the entrance. They discover a slightly beat up chest, but when they attempt to move it they receive a violent shock. After using detect magic to study the chest, Xing decides that it is best if they leave the chest alone.

Just as Xing and Ayumi open the other door, the group jolts awake from their dreams. Silian, true to form, points his crossbow at the newcomers as the group tries to make sense of what just happened. They realize quickly that Demise and Bosramir are both missing, and they all more or less just had the same dream.

Xing and Ayumi are able to convince Silian to lower his crossbow after some tense moments in which Xing recounts her vision. They decide to move on as a group. Xing and Ayumi take the group to the chest which electrocuted them. After examining the chest (without touching it), the group is able to glean some information about the trap on the chest. Having no other way to disarm the trap, they decide to let Balthazar try to blow it up. His bomb doesn't do much damage to the chest, but it does set some of the debris in the room on fire. After putting the fires out, they decide to deal with the chest later.

The group makes their way up the stairs that were in the room they slept in, they come across a maze like room that is set up with spikes and other obstacles. As they make their way through this area they encounter, and dispatch of several more blink dogs. However, several of the party decides that the price offered isn’t worth the risks involved with recovering the statue and part ways, leaving Silian, Vannevar, and Akasha to carry on without them. When they finally find their way out of the maze they encounter another blink dog and a raver amidst a roomful of nests.

After having killed the raver and the dog, they are able to make their way up another staircase. They stop near the top of the stairs when they hear movement and chanting. They see two people held as prisoners, an orc that appears to be a Night Stalker and a human male. The room also contains several ravers standing guard. A door on the other side of the room is cracked, and it seems to be where the chanting is coming from.

Akasha leads the rest of the way up, and a battle swiftly pursues. Things begin to look dire as the orc and human prisoners struggle to aid the group in the fight and also free themselves in the process. Vannevar is taken down during the fight, and the orc is seriously injured but the group prevails and when the fight has ended everyone is healed back to fighting condition once more. The human is introduced as Jonah d’Tharashk. The orc does not appear, unsurprisingly, to speak but is able to pantomime an agreement to stay with the group and help fight their way out.

Cautiously entering the next room, they find that it is a young man that is chanting. By his side, another blink dog, at the far end of the room the statue of Sythrael. Silian sends a ball of fire at the dog, it misses but it does get the attention of the young man who seems deeply confused by their presence. Akasha realizes that the statue is not merely a statue but a living radiant idol that has been petrified by magic. After tiring of the insane gibberish coming from the clearly insane and/or possessed young man who talks of completing the statue and restoring Sythrael, Silian makes an attack.

As the battle wages on, two more dogs join in the fight. It would seem that the young man knows some magic, and the dogs use their ability to blink in and out of existence to their advantage but at last the party is victorious and all who opposed them lay dead. After some debate on how to get the statue back to Lady Tela, it is decided that they will push the statue over, in hopes of breaking it into smaller, easier to carry pieces. When the statue shatters, dust and debris is thrown up into the room choking the group who also suffer from many abrasions and bruises from the chunks of stone flying about. Nonetheless, they are able to gather the many pieces together and leave the wretched place that was once a glorious tower.

As they make their way back through Fallen, the group is drawn to a pile of rubble within the ruins of a building when they hear rocks sliding about and Jonah sees the glint of sun on metal. Vannevar determines that there is indeed something buried beneath the rubble, and so the group works together to clear the area. Finally they are able to determine that it is in fact a warforged that has been buried. It would seem that the warforged is indeed active, and has been waiting over two years to be found.

The group does not have long to speak with the warforged before a group of ravers sets upon them and they must once again fight. The ravers prove to be nothing more than a nuisance to the group who swiftly and decisively cut them down. After the brief battle, Akasha asks the warforged if he will be joining them and he agrees. The group makes it the rest of the way to the church where they find Faela sweeping the porch. There is a moment of tension when they group learns that Faela is unwilling to use her magical gifts to heal the group because they are not followers of the Silver Flame, however it is really moot because the group has a divine healer with the fellow Jonah that they rescued as well as a wand that is capable of mending their wounds. They spend a moment patching themselves up before entering the church.

Faela tells them that Lady Tela has been sending word for them each morning they first arrived. She welcomes them to stay the night in the church so that they will be present when the messenger comes the next morning. They spend the remainder of the day conversing within the safety of the church but sleep in shifts.

27th day of Lharvion In the very early hours of the morning there is a noise that draws Jonah’s attention. It is followed shortly by a loud knock at the door. The sudden banging startles awake everyone who was still sleeping, and quickly they prepare for battle drawing weapons. Faela enters the room, frowning at the show of steel over a knock, but does not say anything as she moves to the door. She opens it to reveal Kurthan, the bugbear guard of Lady Tela. He says that he has come to fetch them from Fallen. Jonah requests a few minutes to say his morning prayers before everyone leaves Fallen.

The airship that dropped them off is waiting for them and takes them directly to Lady Tela’s manor. Kurthan shows them to the study before leaving to return to his post. Soon after Neris and Lady Tela join the group and want to hear all about their adventure in Fallen and to discuss the statue. It is agreed upon that she will pay them the same price for each piece of the statue as was offered for the hand itself. While examining the statue pieces, Tela is startled to find that when two pieces that would normally go together are placed close enough together they rejoin and the fissure of being broken disappears completely.

She orders Neris and Kurthan to separate all of the pieces into individual containers where they cannot come into contact with one another. Further discussion with Akasha reveals the true nature of the statue, that of a radiant idol having been turned to stone through magic but still very much alive and not simply a statue. Lady Tela says that she had heard the rumors but never thought that it could possibly be true. She says that they are all very lucky indeed that the last piece had not been found. It is agreed that Lady Tela will bring their payment to them at the Cracked Mirror inn, where she has arranged for them to have two days of room and board, after she makes a trip to the bank to retrieve what she owes them.

The group is given a ride to the inn where they find Jessamin confronting a very drunk man. Just as Jonah approaches to offer aid, he finds that Jessamin is quite capable of handling the situation herself. She greets them, welcoming them back, and can’t help but to note that Lianna is no longer with them. Akasha confirms for her that Lianna went missing but was alive to the best of their knowledge. Jess takes it in stride and ushers them inside where she has them all set up with hot baths in their rooms at their request.

After their baths, the group slowly reassembles in the commons area where they enjoy a hot meal. Kurthan arrives bearing a chest with their payment and the money is divided amongst the group. Garotte decides he has no need for the coins and instead gives his to Akasha. Akasha decides that she would like some pampering and asks Jess where she should go for a nice massage. Jess directs her to the Upper Central Plateau and Akasha heads out.

Shortly after, Silian asks Mrogab where he might buy some magical trinkets or perhaps have some enchanting done and Mrogab directs him to Everbright. Silian decides to see if Jess would be willing to act as his guide, and she agrees with the condition that he buy her a nice dinner that’s at any place other than the Cracked Mirror. And so, as Akasha is having her sore muscles worked over at a fancy spa, Silian and Vannevar are led to see a very odd woman about enchanting his blink dog hide. Tava tags along to take in the sights and do some shopping of her own along the way.

The odd woman makes Vannevar and Silian both uncomfortable with her unsettling mannerisms but the woman makes no aggressive actions. Silian concludes his business with the woman, paying her half up front and agreeing to pay the second half when he returns the next day to pick up his belongings. When Vannevar questions Jessamin about the woman’s behavior, Jess laughs and says that the woman is harmless and sees or maybe hears things that others don’t and is always paying attention to several things all at once.

Meanwhile, Jonah spends his time buying drinks for strangers and making idle chit chat trying to pick up on the feel of the city. He hears something about some costume party but that’s about it, he does, however, get quite intoxicated. Garotte attempts to speak with Mrogab further about the woman he was after but to no avail. Akasha returns after her long, relaxing massage a bit tipsy on all of the complimentary drinks that were brought to her. After a while, the others return to the inn as well.

Silian changes into nicer more formal attire and reminds Jess that they are to have dinner together. His appearance is a bit more than she expected but always one to go with the flow, she excuses herself to change her own clothes and returns his match for evening attire. Silian was able to make reservations using his house connections, and so takes Jess to a lovely restaurant. Vannevar, refusing to allow Silian to ever be too far away shadowed the event but watched from a distance allowing the two their privacy. When the night was closing to an end, Silian made one last flirtatious remark to Jess and found that it had paid off as she invited him back to her room. Vannevar took up post in the commons, forgoing his own comfortable bed waiting for him, so that he could be in ear shot of Silian.
