Lianna and Vannevar move forward filling in gaps, neither can really do much from their current locations. Ayumi, I think that it's kinda iffy that you'd be able to get a shot off from your location but I'm going to allow it if for no other reason than to make things go smoother.

Akasha's swing misses but Ayumi follows through with an arrow. The dog snarls and lunges at Akasha.

Balthazar looks at all of the people surrounding him and measures the distance between him and the dog and his companions. "Too close... toooo close." He begins petting the bomb he's holding as if soothing it. "Not yet. ...Not quite yet."

Balthazar looks around. "The splash damage... I can't."

Hold action till I get a clear shot.

For those that can see, Silian's face is trapped somewhere between a sneer and a smile. "Wait much longer and there won't be much left of the beast to destroy."

Silian looses another arrow at the blink dog.

"Damnation!" Silian curses as the arrow goes high.

Akasha slashes away at the blink dog again, realizing that in such a cramped space, support would be minimal.

Silian fires another arrow at the beast, as the arrow skitters past the blinking cur, the sound of Silian's teeth grinding is audible to all.

Growling in fristration, Akasha throws up her free hand chanting as she does to send a blast of swirling color at the blink dog.

@#$% this...Color Spray!!!!

"Well done, Akasha." As the blink dog struggles, Silian steps forward as he drops his bow, drawing his scimitar and slashes at the blink dog from behind. Sadly cannot coup de grace.

Silian's sword slices deep into the dog, yet it still lives.

Vannevar moves around the corner and fires a crossbow bolt at the dog. The dog lets out a final yelp and falls over, its breath coming to a halt and its eyes glazing over.

Silian's hatred smolders behind his eyes as the blood drips off of his scimitar. "Kill... it... now..."

As Vannevar's bolt pierces it and the dog drops, Silian sighs with relief. "Yes.... yes I really hate these things."

When the battle has ended, Balthazar speaks up, "I don't like this place. It's wrong, all wrong. I must get out of here, good luck finding the statue's hand. This isn't worth it for me."

He gathers his things and brushes himself off before making his way back out of the Glass Tower. After a moment Lianna says, "He is right, you know. I don't know what that dream was all about but this place definitely takes a toll on a girl's image. I'm going with him."

Ayumi looks at Xing, and they nod at one another. Xing whispers quietly to Ayumi, "We need to follow the one with the red hair. She is where we are suppose to be."

Lianna cocks an eyebrow at this but doesn't address it for now, "Balthazar, wait! We're coming with you!"

And with that the group of seven has dwindled to three. Vannevar frowns for a moment before addressing Silian.

Silian replies in the Common tongue. "The word of House Thuranni has been given. Let the cowards flee, I intend to see this through to the best of my abilities. Akasha, do you wish to take your leave with the others?" Silian picks up and stows his bow, and sees if any of his fired arrows can be retrieved.

"Have you ever known a Denieth to go back on a contract?" Akasha says quietly.

Silian smirks. "Indeed. Well your company, and your blade, are appreciated. We should be cautious as we continue to hunt for the hand."

Assuming you continue on. As you continue on into the maze, you round the corner to find a long hall filled with hurdles. I've marked the walls in red, hurdles in orange, and as a reminder, the spikes you've passed in blue.

Good question! No, these were not once rafters and the spikes weren't once nifty ceiling decorations. This stuff was put here after the fall.

"Well this certianly looks like fun!" Akasha mutters sarcastiacally. "Up and over I guess."

"There isn't enough room for the three of us to tackle each hurdle in turn... this screams of ambush. Nothing for it, I suppose."

Silian examines the hurdles, before attempting to cautiously go over the first.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Sorry, forgot to mention the movement adjustments for the hurdles. They can easily be navigated without any skill checks but it costs and extra square of movement. Alternatively, a DC12 "Jump" check keeps it from slowing you down. So acrobatics in Pathfinder.

The hurdles are simple wooden frames that stand about 3 ft high and span the width of the hall. They don't block visibility, so nothing could be hiding behind them. Silian is easily able to make it over the first hurdle without being slowed down in the slightest.

Seeing no need to rush, Vannevar takes the time to stoically step over the first hurdle and then extends his hand to Akasha in offer to help her do the same.

Unless hindered, Silian will continue to make his way slowly through the hurdles to the end of the hall.

Taking the proferred hand with a small smile, Akasha steps over the hurdle with ease.

You make your way to the end of the hall, slowed a little by the hurdles but negligently so. A peak around the wall shows that the hall continues on a short distance before opening up to the left.

Silian draws his bow once more, nocks an arrow, and peers around the corner. "If anything gives chase, those hurdles are going to be a nuisance."

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

There is nothing to be seen around the corner from where you are on the map, unless you moved and are looking around another corner? but Silian's ears pick up on something. Straining to see if you hear the sound again, you hear the sound of claws clicking on the stone though you aren't sure exactly where only ahead of you and not behind.

"Hear anything Silian?" Akasha asks.

"There are claws on stone... though the echoing makes it difficult to determine where they come from. Be wary." Silian peers around the corner again.

There still isn't anything to be seen.

Gazing into the hallway, Silain pauses to cast detect magic, whispering in the tongue of shadows. "Shof."

The spell reveals nothing new to you. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to be in this particular hall.

"As if the babbling spirit wasn't odd enough..." Silian cautiously presses onward.

Vannevar's perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

"I think it is just on the other side of this wall," Vannevar says quietly as he indicates the wall to the east.

Bow drawn, Silian will enter the hallway to his left.

A low growl comes from the area that Vannevar mentioned as Silian moves into place. It hasn't revealed itself yet, but you are certain that it is aware of you. You can, of course, attempt to avoid the fight by moving slowly west, the direction Silian has moved.

At the sound of the growl Akasha quickly whispers a command word, a shimmering shield of pure force flickering to life on her right arm.

Slowly, as if stalking prey, a blink dog emerges from around the corner headed towards Silian. It catches sight of Vannevar still in the hallway and stops, hunkering low and growling at both of the elves.

Vannevar moves towards the animal, confusing it, before swinging his greatsword at the beast.

Akasha moves forward but is unable to safely get into position to attack the blink dog, and hold her blade ready for the opportunity.

I know, that's why I made sure you had opportunity to move passed Vannevar last round before the way was blocked off, I'm sorry. This area really sucks for battle.

Champ lunges at Vannevar seeing him as the bigger threat, nipping his thigh before darting back again.
