I'm clocking out, but it just came to my attention that Rosa actually *has* the fiendish heritage feat, so I'm recommending that Mierra and I just use our default 1/day powers. Sorry to bring that up again, but I think even if the playing is the important part that we shouldn't obsolete feats for no reason. G'night (for real this time).

I did role for pos/neg energy, but if Ira is going to keep her 1/day power I can keep shatter instead. I leave it up to the GM

Good morning, everybody. Sorry I left you hanging last night. It was 2:30 AM on the east coast and I needed to go to bed. I didn't realize we were all bidding each other good night =) Anyway, today is the big day, so shore up your party selections, post them here, and make sure I have your names on the Obsidian Portal wiki.

We will be starting at about 9PM EST, which is 11 hours from now.

Gaius, as much as I love that you want to take slaves, be wary. I didn't specify this before, but Fallsvale is extremely lawful. There is essentially no crime, so you may have trouble actually getting slaves past it. You may be able to sedate a goblin or something and stuff it in a bag, but for the most part, it will be pretty impossible. The idea is that by making Fallsvale lawful, I can keep the adventure in the wilderness, not the town. The town is safe, boring, and devoid of adventures. The best way to ensure that is to make the town well-governed, well-guarded, and crime free. Although, I suppose there's no rule preventing you from setting up shop out in the wilderness. That could be fun. You'd have to clear out a suitable location, though. And I don't know how everyone else would feel about that.

Is there a set number of posts we should shoot for in a day? Also I will be up at 9pm, but I am a parent so I usually head offline by about 11pm, so if anything happens after that, I will have to catch up in the morning


There isn't really a strict number of posts. Shoot for 1-2 per day. I've set it up so that, even if don't hear from one person for a while we can continue fairly well.

Same here just spotted no traits so removed them ans as we don't seem to need FH i move the martial weapon proficiency great swords so as not to disrupt game play done all ready.

Well I assumed slavery in some form would be legal, as it was in virtually all medieval societies (and pathfinder ones for that matter). However, if there is no one to buy the slaves then they can be utilized clear cutting forest or mining or something. I guess that depends on what we find out there.
If someone makes a really huge stink about it I guess we can just kill all the monstrous demi-humans we find, like the "good guys" normally do. Seems like such a waste of labor though.

As for the people who have agreed to travel with me so far:

We would accept Chuffy as well, but I'm guessing he's gonna choose to travel with Tensen and Finn if allowed.

As for that start time, it's 11 PM in China now, so I'll probably be going to bed in a while. I should be back up by 10 or 11 EST though.

Can one of you three in our party make sure we have some acid flasks and a pole? I bought rope, iron spikes and a hammer but monks only start with 35 gold, and my strength is 10. No more weight or money. Everyone except Amar has darkvision, and he can cast light. Anyone think of anything else we're gonna need? It might be a good idea to operate nocturnally, since we have a clear advantage there over the "good guys" where only Ira has darkvision.

@Gaius - Good point regarding the legality of slaves. I suppose, more realistically, the town wouldn't be as upset about the slaves as it was about the fact that you (already a hobgoblin) would be marching bands of goblins through their streets. The town prides itself in it's good defenses against the goblins and other beasties, and isn't terribly interested in having that security undermined by some monster-man who just rolled into town. I'll say that, for simplicity's sake, I still won't allow you to sell slaves back in town. The town doesn't allow beasts from the wilderness to come in. but feel free to put them to work doing other menial things. Or, you could probably use them as henchmen, since you're kin.

GM_Jacob, it came to my mind that in first Paizo Adventure path (RotR) there was a special runes scribed / enchanted on the skin of varisian people to boost their magical abilities (DCs if that was their effect.)

Wondering if I could during the adventures to after each session include one meaning to my etched robe.

Would give great roleplaying plus idea for the robe (plus if I die and I am robbed / party killed-> monster or whoever could get it and have the benefits). The robe itself grant the "boost" so removing it will take those boosts away.

It is an idea just. Would need to check this out later to be sure I remember it correctly.

Of course, never waste resources fighting if they're willing to join you. Just hold the leader's children hostage or kill one in every five adults. Something to make sure they don't get uppity :P

Yeah, PBP time gets bent a lot. Sometimes you need to respond to something that happened earlier in game, but right now in real life. Or people spend hours posting back and forth like we've been doing, but hardly any time has really passed in game. Wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey.

Edit:
Mierra - By my calculations you have 4 gp left over right now. Assuming we don't need to keep track of food and water, we'll give you a grappling hook (1gp), a bear trap (2gp), and the 10' pole (5 sp) because I don't want to assume the DM was kidding. You can hold onto the stuff, it would encumber me.

I see it is quite interesting but just that charisma based DC is kind of... oh well, would still be nice addition

Edit: Varisian tattoo can be good. If you're planning on specializing in a school I think conjuration has the most useful spells. Lots of good save or sucks in there.

Don't sweat it. If worse comes to worst, I can head out by myself XD In all seriousness, I'm not terribly worried about it all.

EDIT: for clarification, bard is merely the mechanical chassis for the archetype. Jackson's more likely to smell like sweat and tombs than perfume. On one hand, you guys are making fun of him, so that's just in-character and totally fine, but on the other, I just feel that I should point out that there's actually no indication that he's a bard, or for that matter that he's not a rogue or fighter.

Good catch Jackson. I would have assumed ranger or rogue based on the picture and indications of archaeology. Incidentally, don't feel like you have to use an instrument either. I once played a bard who carried a standard and inspired/frightened with battlecries. Much lots of fun.

The archetype I went with doesn't actually get bardic music of any kind, so there's no real reason for Jackson to have an instrument, aside from playing the Indiana Jones theme on harmonica around the campfire. That battlecry bard sounds like fun, too. Kind of like the bardbarian builds in Diablo II. Speaking of Diablo, I can't wait for Tuesday!


Ah, yes. I didn't even check the archetype stats.

as for the movie, it was worth seeing, but imo, not really worth spending $7 bucks on... I'd have been just as happy waiting to see it on netflix. There were some cute scenes, but cute doesn't carry a movie... all i can say is it was 'okay'.... otoh, my husband loved it. go figure.
