Je'grik begins speaking in an almost ominous voice, pointing his finger at the boggard. A dark green bolt of energy shots from his fingertipe tot he creature.

Folks, my modem has fried. I'm hoping to be back online by Tuesday, if I can get my 'net provider to express me a new one, otherwise it will take longer. Please bear with me.

Shiny new modem is working just fine. Game on!

Nekogami, you're up. Show 'em what you can do.

*bump*

the feral, Bestial, Shinkuro will charge the Nearest guard and attempt to tear his "Sword arm" straight out of it's shoulder socket with a simple combination of grab and twist!

how would we manage this? i was thinking like a disarm or something. but i literally want to tear the guy's entire arm off.

Cheliax (Male Half-Devil 30 point buy Witch)

Szinroc will go full Defense and wait for someone to close in on him. AC 15.

Right now the only visible opponent is the boggard. The guards are on the level above. As for the "tear his arm off" routine, that would be a grapple, then using a grapple check to do damage. Of course, you could just use your claws and tear it out that way.

i guess i will use my claws, boggard is fine

Claw attack

1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13

Damage

1d4 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Round 2:

As the assembled prisoners face off against the outnumbered boggard, a new combatant races in from the stairway, flanking the bufanoid. Applying flanking bonus to the attack. He swipes down with a clawed hand onto the boggard's shoulder, tearing through flesh and nearly severing the arm at the shoulder. The boggard falls.

At this point, the lot of you stand about looking over the companions fate has thrown together. From up the stairwell, more sounds of chaos and combat are heard.

(Male Primal Goblin Ranger 3)

"I'm gonna take a looksee upstairs as to what all that noise is about" Vaki scurries up the wall of the stairwell, effortlessly blending in with the shadows. 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36 Stealth 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35 Climb, also under the effects of Spider Climb

What's the lighting conditions like?

(Male Human Sorcerer [Draconic/Efreet] 1)

The immediate threat dispatched, the great red man looks around, surveying the destruction on this level.

Are there any dead guards here? Specifically I am looking for a whip, to use it against our captors and create some poetic justice.

Qadira (Male Human, mostly English Major 4/ Creative Writer 4/ Grad student (prestige class) 2)

No guards on this level. The only available weaponry right now, with the exception of Gurk's "flail," are chunks of masonry that can be used as improvised bludgeoning or missile weapons.

Lighting comes from lamps set in the walls. There is enough shadow in the square spiral stairwell for Vaki to move stealthily, especially since he can scale the walls and ceilings, using the shadows from the arching supports for concealment.

Shinkuro will rip out a pillar from the walls to use as an improvised bludgeoning weapon. how much damage would a pillar swung with both hands deal?

Cheliax (Male Half-Devil 30 point buy Witch)

Szinroc will hang back and follow the rest that advance up the stairs. Lets get out of here. You brutes lead the way and I will use my dark gifts to cover you.

Ripping out a pillar would be a bit much, not to mention there are no pillars in this particular room. You could grab up a piece of masonry from the floor, which would act as a club.

make it a piece of masonry then. i will have it held in both hands

Qadira (Male Human, mostly English Major 4/ Creative Writer 4/ Grad student (prestige class) 2)

This has been a lot more sluggish a pace than I like. Let's see if we can't jump-start this.

Vaki:
Vaki climbs up the stairwell, slithering along the shadows, and comes upon a large room, entering from the stairwell in the southwest corner. The floor is covered with rubble and the occasional body. Four sets of double doors and four stairwells allow exit from this room. However, three of the doors are currently blocked. To the north, two grim looking guards in black robes, wielding staves, stand watch. To the east are five guards, wearing more conventional garb of chain shirts and bucklers. Four of them keep large hounds in check at the end of leather leashes. Finally, to the west, a large rough humanoid, crafted of unfinished pieces of wood, stands silent sentinel.

(Male Primal Goblin Ranger 3)

Vaki scurries back down to the others "Uh guys, it does not look good up there. Lots of guards and some nasty lookin dogs. Man I wish I had a bow n a quiver or two"

Hint, hint. Poor Vaki won't be much good in this fight with no bow

When your group is ready to go up, let me know and I'll get an initiative order and put up a link to the map.

Qadira (Male Human, mostly English Major 4/ Creative Writer 4/ Grad student (prestige class) 2)

Well, looks like this attempt has died. I'm going to go ahead and call the game quits. If it ran any slower it would be classified as a glacier.
