You are correct in your impression, Galonor. Each level is a module that will earn you 3 xp and 4 pp. As for leveling as you head up the staircase? well, that's something that we will just have to find out!
Gadrielle Credenza |
I believe the staircase heads down. Nothing good ever comes from going down in a dungeon.
Mikhail Ximenez |
It's worst here! After cupid day we have Chinese/Lunar New Year Eve which meant big family gatherings! Believe Kuey had sort of the same thing going on.
You mean your family, where you live, or both?
Uhvat Balanos |
Yeah, as big a think as Thanksgiving Dinner, I imagine. That's the time that we put on weight. :)
GM DevilDoc |
That's pretty much the end of the first level! Congrats, we did a full module dungeon crawl in around 2 months.
For those with dayjobs, please finalize your rolls and get that onto my spreadsheet.. I will be making the chronicles tonight. Once this is finished up completely, I will post the link to collect them and then there will be a few days window for you to do what you need to do before we start the next level.

Ok guys two things.
1) I went to try and report this game and had some issues. Several of your PFS numbers came up with error codes or different character names, one of you came up as a Core PC, and another did not have a PFS number on the sheet at all. Please verify that your PFS number is entered correctly so that I can get this game reported!
2) We touched on the Landrush Chronicles HERE but that conversation kind of fizzled. I need to know who is going to purchase a plot of land so that I can get that taken care of on the chronicle sheets.
While I mess with this, I will go ahead and let you know that you have each earned 3 xp, 4 pp, and 1398gp.
Landrush Chronicles are 2pp to purchase a hex of land. In the future, I will not only need to know if you are purchasing, but which hex you desire to purchase.
Landrush:
CariMac:
Batpony:
Upaynao:
PJP:
IHIYC:
Kuey:
Mikhail Ximenez |
1) You've got mine right.
2) There's no point in the Landrush if Mikhail isn't getting any hexes past the first, so none of that for him.
Galonor the Mighty |

My number is correct and should have both errors (different name (Torcet) and core) due to an inexperienced mistake from trying out PBP a long time ago. Galonor will not be taking the landrush.
Gadrielle Credenza |
Everything should be correctly written in the reporting document info.
Gadrielle will participate in the land rush, but I thought we had to start with hex A?
Uhvat Balanos |
Uhvat's seems correct, but let me know again if something pops up.
Yes, Uhvat will purchase land.
GM DevilDoc |
Gadrielle: Yes, for this first land rush, you must start with Hex A, however in the future you may choose an adjoining hex and will need to tell me which one you want.
Landrush:
CariMac:
Batpony: No
Upaynao: Yes
PJP: Yes
IHIYC: No
Kuey: Yes
GM DevilDoc |
Thank you all. I will be updating the reporting sheet for your table to make it more effective for our needs here.
As for this game, You can find the chronicle sheets here. I also placed a permanent link to this folder under the campaign header tab. Those of you that elected to purchase the land will have two chronicles: "Your_name", and also "Your_name- LR". Please make sure that you grab both of them!
*IHIYC: Mikhails number is actually -18. That was one of the things throwing me off, but I get it straightened out!
So what did you all think about the first level? How was the pacing? Was it too easy? Any and all suggestions, comments, and criticisms are welcome; either here or through PM as you so desire.
As soon as everyone finishes leveling your characters and posts that you are ready to rock, we will commence Level 2!
Petromyscus "Chinchi" Spalaxchi |
Chinchi is ready to delve deeper!
Level two brought little with it, but gained a few spells known, up to 12 hp, +1 Ref and Will saves, and versatile performance gave a big boost to Diplomacy and handle Animal (now use Perform(Winds) at +9). Added another round of performance as Favored Class bonus.
I also paid 300gp to "keep" the wand of CLW from the chronicle.
Gadrielle Credenza |
Gadrielle is paying for her old armor to be shipped over. Which coincidentally is the same as having full plate made from scratch.
Hooray for Gray Maiden Plate
Galonor the Mighty |
Galonor is also ready.
Purchases 1300gp: Sword to Masterwork quality, and Cloak of Resistance +1
Will also spend 2PP for a wand of CLW.
Regarding feedback of the scenario, I thought it was well balanced between RP and Combat for a heavy dungeon crawl, and the pace was perfect for me. I'd like to pretty much see more of the same in the next level!
Zifan the Graceful |
Zifan is ready.
She bought a cloak of resistance and a Masterwork Chain shirt. 1,250.
Zifan took the Hex Ward at level 2. She can give one character a +2 to AC and saves until hit. Which front liner would like to get this?
Uhvat Balanos |
Alright, Uhvat is updated. Shopping list:
Decided to switch out toughness to weapon focus. Hope I'm not making a mistake... :P
Galonor the Mighty |

This half-orc cannot afford his full plate yet! I feel vulnerable with an AC of 16. :P
Gadrielle Credenza |
Just wait until I can afford to get it made out of mithral, heh.
I think Galonor would probably benefit from it most of the time, and those few times where you need for someone to take a few blows and block a passageway, pass it to Gadrielle.
Uhvat Balanos |
Yes, agree. Uhvat is not exactly a frontliner with his AC17 and lower HP. Can't wait til hit level 5 when I get one rank of monk and his AC shoot up by 4. Oh, and the other sweet spot of level 4 to get lash with reach!
Zifan the Graceful |
I will be away from good computer access this weekend starting tomorrow. Feel free to bot me as needed. I may be able to post, but can't guarantee it.
GM DevilDoc |
Zifan, thank you for the heads up. I meant to get a post up Wed to get us started, but I failed there and am sorry. I will get us moving ASAP.
Black Sun |
Read magic should be all it takes to read ANY spell scroll, even if it's not on the reader's spell list (or even if the reader doesn't technically have a spell list at all, technically!).
GM DevilDoc |
That is correct.. all it takes is Read Magic.
However, none of the characters at this table have Read Magic listed anywhere on their profiles, so I was offering another alternative that might be a feasible method of identifying what you have found.
If someone has Read Magic, then they should list it on their profile.
Black Sun |
We've got a Bard, Shaman, and Spiritualist; at least one of them should know that spell or have it prepared at all times.
GM DevilDoc |
True.. which is why I looked through everyones profile, stunned that it wasn't listed anywhere for anyone.. so I offered an alternative.
Black Sun |
I'm not blaming you, DM, I was just saying that for the future to the party.
Petromyscus "Chinchi" Spalaxchi |
True, that would have been useful here, but I find I use it very rarely in any game I have played. Also, don't forget that both spellcraft and UMD work for reading scrolls, and I have decent skills there. Just didn't get good enough rolls today.
I also hate the fact that read magic and detect magic take up spots in spell lists - they should be default skills. But since they are options, sometimes I choose to follow a different tune. (And, of course, we can always pick up a wand for not too much cash.)
Uhvat Balanos |
Hey guys, I'll be away for a short vacation until 18 Mar, Sunday. I'll still have internet access but posting will likely slow. Please bot as needed.
GM DevilDoc |
I apologize for my lack of posting or slowdown of late. These last two weeks have seen a great many things come up professionally, medically, and now legally. I will catch up and post as best as I can, but while dealing with health issues with the wife, I am also going through a professional transition from a job that I held for over 5 years and back into the medical field, as well as dealing with the legal system after a teacher at my son’s school not only battered him in the classroom multiple times but dragged him through the hallway by his neck. This might be considered a bit of oversharing by some, but I wanted you all to understand and I felt “Life is getting rough” was a bit too vague.
I will update as I can and will continue my games, but please understand if my pace temporarily slows. If I am a player and you need to bot me to maintain pace, please do so with my apologies. If you are in a game I am GM’ing, I have not and will not abandon you and I will update as I am able to.
Galonor the Mighty |
I can't even come close to understanding how difficult that might be, but it goes without saying that I have you in my thoughts and prayers. All the best with everything and please take as much time as you need.
GM DevilDoc |
Thank yall for your concern. Things are settling down a bit around here, and I hope to be easing back into my games. I am not up to full posting just yet, but it will be improving.
Chris is holding up.. and the sub is in jail on felony charges.
Uhvat Balanos |
GM, I think I speak on behalf of everyone when I say, welcome back! Don't worry about the postings, yah? Gambatte!
GM DevilDoc |
Ok guys, s*&! hit the fan in a real way, and I completely ditched you for much longer than what I intended to. For this I really apologize. I still have a few things percolating, but the majority of things are if not resolved then at least on a back burner for right now. I am still going through a few transitions, but I hope that the majority of the insanity is past. I will be striving my utmost to get back to my daily post rates.
