Yes, now we have four on the Dwarf team, and two of them Dwarves ^_^

This will be the first Cleric I've played in the pathfinder system so any suggestions for build would be welcome :)

I have created the a hallowed place for Elves to gather. (The elves have their own thread now). Gnomes and dwarves and those that favor them are not welcome there.

Dwarves, get your act together and you can come to my hallowed halls. Brask, you still up for the party lead or do you want the more pretty faced cleric to lead. Remember, a warrior spirit is more important than a pretty face. I will also find you your bannerman, but he is drinking himself into a stupor right now.

Thograt, the ability to take a blow rather than give it is the true strenght of the dwarves. Now them crazy battle dwarves like to do both.

"Aye. Let tha cleric lead. I'm a hunter more than a leader. An' good one that one is, me Lord."

Brask, that was a test. Rock slams his mug into Brask's thick skull. Don't ever let me hear you doubt your abilities again.

Rumor has it the elves have picked a mage to lead. If the best of my ranger recruits isn't up to this task, then I will indeed turn it over to the priests.

Now get my crew ready for before the elves beat us to the riches the mainland has to offer.

Team leader will be like the old school caller. He is responsible for the actions of those not posting, as they will then follow general orders to the best of their ability. He (or she) will submit the roster of the five characters they want to take with them.

He is responsible for issuing battle orders in times of stress. Before any encounter the team leader will be allowed 20 words of text to convey battle orders to the group. There will be no communication beyond 20 words of text for each character per round when the poop flies.

By the way, the dwarf team leader will have even more authority. Rather than a first among equals like the elf, he will be more like a military leader.

Torag has given me a warriors spirit I will lead you troops!

Hmm ok I'll take over the leader role. Just be aware that I'm in Australia eastern daylight savings time at the moment. I'm not sure if that would be a problem...

How about Brask is on the hook for your twenty word post if you are late. Plus the troops should be able to reply to your posts next day. I see no problem.

As I mentioned before, but not explicitly.

Do not look at the other teams thread. If you want to follow along while not playing, pick a single thread so you will be eligible to join them if you like it.

Do not look at spoilers or post spoilers from the other two threads. There will be plently of news and updates about how well the two parties are doing, and it will be posted here. They are running around a continent that is highly suspiciously of them with a big banner.

Are we psyched yet?

Super Phyched!

Did the elves ever get their final melee slot filled?

Eben TheQuiet wrote:

Not yet. We really need a run-up-there-and-whack-'em melee guy. Take the wood elf stat mods and see what you can come up with!

That goes for anybody. If you want to be in the queue (we're expecting a high mortality rate), pick Team Dwarf or Elf, and follow along in their super-secret strategy thread. If we lose a guy or 2, it would be nice to have some replacements ready to go ASAP. First come, first killed. ;)

Okay, then I have two thoughts, and I'd love some input. My first thought is to go with a wood elf barbarian, primarily using a longspear or pole arm of some sort. This guy will have an abysmal AC, so will rely on a big health pool, team healing, and general retreating tactics (move into position > ready an attack > repeat). My concern with this one is that it doesn't provide a solid, stable front for the softer people to really get behind. It's the one I want to play, but I don't want to set us up for difficulties as a team.

Secondarily I could go with a wood elf fighter. Focusing on getting decent to good hp and a solid offense and defense by going the Elven Curved Blade route combining power attack and weapon finesse.

Thoughts?

Both sound good. If barbarian is what you really like, go for it. That's what I'd play, just because I like it.

Without the extra books, fighter is probably a better choice on paper, but a barbarian with reach is nothing to sneeze at. We just gotta keep you alive.

why weapon finesse for a wood elf fighter?
The elves might take a battle cleric in their final slot
Favored weapon for a battle cleric's deity can be the bastard sword. That gives him weapon prof in an exotic 1d10 one handed weapon for free.
That eases some concern about the healing and the front line staying power.

You would have to take the war domain to justify this.

I would think the wood elves would provide the battle cleric, but you never know.

Only an elf team would leave in a party of six without a fighter, paladin or barbarian :-)

Chainmail wrote:

Not my preference, but it's sort of a "run what ya brung" thing. LOL

The armored lower level stooge holding the banner in the front line is an interesting tactic at lower levels. He did say he would obey. Some say NPC lives are less precious than PC ones. :-)

I have had dwarf parties leave with half pure fighters by the way. That was approved by the king.

Khazad Grimglaive reporting for duty to Team Dwarf!

I'm fairly new to the game, so any build/tactical advice is appreciated.

"Now yer talkin'! 'Nother Dwarf ta bash in those smug pretty-boy faces!"

It's a 15 point buy, so getting an 18 to STR is going to be costly. I think this might work out better
STR: 17
DEX: 12
CON: 15
INT: 13
WIS: 10
CHA: 5
Point your first Ability increase in STR and your next into CON, get good armor and a hard hitting weapon and your good. 13 INT for combat expertise, which opens up some more feats. I'd take Iron Will at first and leave Cleave for second, keep power attack.

"Um...yes. Hullo. Yes. I...um...yes. Well, see...I...um. Am I needed, still?"

Keep em coming; didn't I mention before I left 60 dwarves at the battle of, shouldn't drink so much.

I want more dwarves, gnomes and those that will take order from them.

Chainmail, can the elf team field another half-elf? I think I've made my choice, and I'd prefer it to be half-elf over elf.

We're still in need of a fearless melee guy for the elf side. An elf is preferred, but a human or half elf would work. Halflings are allowed, too, but we've already got a rogue.

Who will charge to the front in our efforts to eradicate the dwarven plague?

Edit: Yes, Eben, a half elf is fine. Post him up in the Team Elf thread!

"Aye, we need ye an' e'ery good dwarf we can get."

A nearly 7 foot tall, powerful, and scar-covered half-elf stalks into the area, his one un-ruined eye shying away from the haughty looks he receives. Apparently finding his quarry, he walks up to Seltyn and Talon, planing the butt of his pole arm on the floor with a thump as he scratches the ruined hole where his right ear should be. "This where I put my name down to join the fight?" At the answering nod, he gives only three words, "Telethal. The half-blood."

His clothing and armor is as scarred up as he is, but he walks with a dangerous strength.

"Well, we ain't goin' anywheres until we get another one to come with us."

So the List at the moment for the Dwarves:

Brask Alpsbane - Dwarf Ranger
Ninni Lindnock - Gnome Monk
Gluckle - Gnome Sorcerer
Thograt Ironheart - Dwarf Cleric
Khazad Grimglaive - Dwarf Fighter

We know what classes people are, but as a courtesy, let's not click the other teams' character names and look over their game info. That would give people unfair advantage and ruin the fun.

Hmm perhaps another arcane type? So far the party looks good.

I'd appreciate a rogue or bard :)

For da dwarves!

A bard is my preferred for the last slot.

If there is room i would liek to join as a dwarf rogue. show those elves who they are messing with.

I am very new to pbp, though tabletop gamign i have played plenty of pathfinder. i normally play ninja's or rogues, i liek thegaming style i am very good at playing them. this sounds liek it will be great and fun to play.

Looks okay, but I think for a rogue, you're going to want to blow as many points as you can in DEX, WIS and STR or WIS and CHA are next. I also noticed you still have a point.

I think this might work better (I'm assuming that your using the normal dwarf stats.)

Dwarf Rogue:

STR 10
DEX 17
CON 12
INT 10
WIS 14
CHA 8

You don't have to use these, but they're there if you want them.

Sounds like good advice. Will take a look at character and repost any changes.

I took a look and while the numbers might be nor optimum but they fit character concept.if you really want I'll change but I like the direction I'm going. Wich is towards victory!!!!

It's cool, do what ever you want to. I was just trying to help. Still, it's nice to have another Dwarf on the team.

"Me Lord, I believe we 'ave a group that I'd be proud ta fight and e'en die beside if that be me lot."

Thograt, if you take a war domain you can choose dwarf axe as favored weapon--as you would get proficiency with it (see post for elves to get bastard sword)--and you already have proficiency --you get weapon focus dwarvish battle axe for free.

Dwarves will get their own thread tonight or tomorrow Eastern time.

15 pt buy remember - Is Brask over? Only battle dwarves can dump CHA to 5 or 6.

Standard Dwarf adjustments are +2 CON +2 WIS -2 CHA so that's what I used. You can have between 7 and 18 points in a score before adjustments. I just double-checked and it seems okay to me. I can adjust if need be.

My bad -- Brask is good - Dwarves not good at math.

Thograt leader for dwarves; Brask is deputy.

You can start your plotting when I get your thread up.

Dwarf thread is up. Anyone invited over by Thrograt (Brask is already in by personal request of the king) can move over to the dwarf thread. When you have six ready to go in the gameplay thread the dwarves can start.

My spies report the elves have already left, but they are traveling on a boat. My goodness, that is funny. I thought those namby pambies would hide on their island forever.

Well dwarves, get your group together. We need to leave this cold wasteland.
