Seltyn hands Suny her +1 Red Sonja bikini.

Now, Suny, you have to wear it for it to be effective. I know you don't like to wear clothes, but this will help you stay alive. We need to stay alive. Understand?

lmao, Wil is going to be healing a lot of nosebleeds in the future. I predict it to be so....

Scrolls of Dispel, Displacement, Fly and Haste, then.

We can give the Protection wand to Thalas, and the CLW wand would be good for Eirel to use. He can tumble into combat and save us a Raise Dead with it and maybe still get out alive, too.

Not the ideal way to use it, but you never know. He could also use it to sneak attack undead...

It looks like we've spent our rather scant resources pretty wisely, thanks to Wil's work. If anyone has anything else to suggest, please do.

This little essay is a good discussion of how parties work, and if you have a few minutes, it's a good read.

I am away for a week as of tomorrow. I can check in on my phone but posting wont be easy. Feel free to NPC Elorin while I am away to prevent the game slowing.

Though I should be able to look in and post a little if needed.

Wishing every one all the very best.

I am moving my business travel to the west coast over the weekend, but will try to get something up. The hotel allows me a free beach coaster bike, which is good, but has crappy internet. So I will be biking up the beach rather than doing extensive posting.

Why is it that your "business travel" never seems to be somewhere with a lousy climate? :P

lol :) Alaska is beautiful in the spring, summer and fall. Winter gets annoying ;) only because I work in the coldest place ever. Other then Antarctica. Hit me up when you get up here in the next couple of years as i am sure I will be here or somewhere on the boards lol!

Working on a build for Wil right now, kinda hard with his stats but I should be able to figure something out~

He can heal quite a bit right now lol! Another extra lay on hands would make him a little over kill though...

My brother lives in Anchorage so we'll be in the Anchorage/Kenai Peninsula area most of the time, maybe with a day-trip to Denali. Can't say more than that, since it's still 2.5 years out!

Okay... Rant ahead:
I was being nice about it but here it is. It would be completely ignorant of us to assume that they don't have people designated to defend something of importance. I mean seriously Wil is a soldier and he's thinking like one. If it's important enough for us to be attacking a PORT TOWN Warehouse then obviously they are gonna protect it better then a pad lock and chain...

Even if Merc's attack, this is an active and obviously wealthy port. So most likely they have mercs of their own to keep the wood elves busy. So no one is stomping on my idea because I was just trying to figure out a contingency in my first post. But like usual we think of only one aspect. We don't even discuss if there is magical defenses? And sneaking in is great for about oh... three of us maybe four since Seltyn has no ACP but no real ranks in stealth. Five if Azlain gets lucky. I wasn't trying to say HEY LETS ATTACK THE BARRACKS! I was trying to think of ways to keep them from noticing us and if they did WHAT we would be up against. As silence doesn't allow any noise in or out. So Invis + Silence means no one hears the heavily armed guys trumping around or the thief jangling the chain as they pop the lock. That was my idea, I don't know where the disconnect came from but whatever.

I try not to Meta-game, I try to stay in character but lately its been proving difficult. Maybe I just put to much into making a fu&*(*& plan before we trump off to get slaughtered.

Wilaml Fmelvam wrote:

Seven of us against a possible score of them. If they aren't fairly skilled like last time we stand a chance, if they are newly trained militia we can defeat them easily. Silencing a distress call will be the challenge...

Wil makes sure no one is overhearing them before speaking to the others, using his low light vision to pierce the dimness around them with ease. "As much as I dislike underhanded attacks, I dislike these cultists more. So a possibility of a score of soldiers against us. Should we split up into two teams? One team assaults the warehouse while the other tries to keep the guardhouse quiet. Do we have a way to silence their horn calls?"

I can see where this can get misconstrued as my In Character Thoughts wasn't really clear. But I was meaning one team takes the warehouse, perhaps the more sneaky team. While the Other team keeps watch in case the guard post comes to investigate and we can act like interference. That was all I was suggesting, Wil was trying to think of if worse comes to worse this is what we'll be up against and how do we stop them from calling reinforcements once we engage them?

Next time I will just sit quietly.

M Elf Wiz 9 Init +4/ HP 65/65// AC: 22 18/T:17/FF:14 - Percep: +11/ F 8/R 9/W 8 /CMB 4 - CMD 17

I think it will play out something like that. The sneakies will try to sneak, and if there's a problem, screaming mercs will ruin our sneakytime.

We'll have to silence the alarm, if we can, or just fight our way back to the boat sans treasure, if it comes to that.

The longer we can linger, the better our chance of getting some good stuff and burning the place down. That ought to keep them busy.

Okay because I was seriously confused there, frustratingly so. Wil would never suggest attacking a guardpost and he had enough fun trying to survive a witch burning him alive less then a week ago. A dozen swords in the gut isn't any fun either. lol.

I will work on investing something to up my sneak in the future, to avoid issues like this later on. Also I will take some ranks in Sneak to Offset my negatives~ As much as that is kind of an opposite way of thinking in regard to a paladin but it seems to be nescessary~

Suny can help, y'know, give Wil some pointers. Like, maybe takin' off all'a that armor and stuffs fer a while.? (^_~)

M Elf Wiz 9 Init +4/ HP 65/65// AC: 22 18/T:17/FF:14 - Percep: +11/ F 8/R 9/W 8 /CMB 4 - CMD 17

I wouldn't bother. If it's not a class skill, and you don't have a high dex, it's not much use. Armor kills stealth, and you really need lots of ranks to use it reliably. And, anyone could roll a 1.

Eirel's our sneaky guy, and the girls are pretty good at it, too, if they want to go with him. If he can't open the door, I'll burn a knock spell with my object.

Ideally, we get in, silence any opposition, and have time to find the good stuff without facing a hail of arrows as we leave.

The scary part is that whoever's in there may be slaves of the cult, and not actual cultists. Once we get in, you might need to detect some evil to figure out who to kill, and who to spare.

Then again, I could be over-thinking it, but that's totally in character for Seltyn. The situation is always fluid, as Badger would say, and we have only a vague idea of what to expect.

The fight's on. We get in, clean out the best stuff we can find, and run. We aren't likely to leave as easily as we got there.

Heh...No plan survives first contact with the enemy. (^_~)

We'll get through.

An' after? Suny can help Wil get all 'sneaky' like. (^_~)

Thinking about a crafting feat at 5th, maybe Wondrous Items. Don't know how that would work out. Might not be doable in this game.

Yeah, whatever. What you mean to say is that you blew out your flip-flip down in Margaritaville. Or Monterrey Beach, or something. ;)

Sometimes you just gotta blow out the pipes...

Computer back. I can resume soon.

For the record, it is Monterey and Santa Barbara CA that are the hardship business trips. And my meetings went so long, I didn't take out the free bike on the beach once :-(. And with the sequester, no more trips for a long time as some government civilians are getting furloughed every other Friday. It is amusing that some can work overtime to make up for it though, so it doesn't save any money that way.

Your posting rate is fine.

With this warehouse seemingly being just supplies, how do people feel about me just setting the whole place ablaze and getting the heck out of dodge?

So I think I will start gathering up CM based skills to make me more versatile. I've realized from this fight my guy's niche is really narrow. So I may have to take levels in fighter to speed things up. I have to read up on the rules to see if this will end my paladinhood, I don't think so but I need to double check and start mapping things out~

Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18

Going pure paladin is fine. I haven't noticed things being overly slow because of it. Single classing seems to be that much more powerful always to be honest. I am multiclassing simply cause it kinda made sense for me to do so.

My opinion is that your scores of 12 in Str and Dex are hurting you a lot more in this fight more than feat/ability selection/availability. Plus Chainmail getting 16, 17 on the die a couple times.

true, but even if they were slightly higher it wouldn't change the fact that his CMD is terrible. If this guy was a grappler I'd be toast. And yes I agree CM has been getting sme great rolls. :) I've gotten a couple but man the dice roller is hating me~

BUt I was thinking of looking into Disarm and improving CMD type feats to make Wil a little tougher to mess with in that regard~ Besides I wanted to play an average character and my abilities build fits that really well, I personally don't do a dump stat because most of the time it's one that I forget to roleplay correctly after dropping it to 8 or lower.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

It still comes down to ability scores since the Improved (Manoever) feats requires Int 13. Meta-gaming the current situation, the only thing the human has that you don't is a higher Str, he doesn't have any of the Improved feats, either. oddly enough, I could have given you a Bull's Strength buff before you went out to challenge them. Which is my long winded way to say that your character is fine, but we need to plan better still/more.

M Elf Wiz 9 Init +4/ HP 65/65// AC: 22 18/T:17/FF:14 - Percep: +11/ F 8/R 9/W 8 /CMB 4 - CMD 17

We're 4th level. Not spectacular.

We could plan better, maybe, but we never know what to expect. Harsh world, for elves.

Dwarves are down to five active players--one original.

Elves seem to be the down to five--Eirel, Talon--two originals, Thalas, Wil and Suny.

I think we will continue at five for now.

Anyway, plan is after this raid, Elves will be level 5.

Both Azlain and Elorin quit? That's unfortunate, since I like those characters.

I haven't seen them post in a while.

One original dwarf and two original elves, at more than a year of running two separate games?

Good PbP, and turnover is expected. 5 each is more manageable, and 4 each works fine, too.

It's good to scroll back and remember those bad rolls. There's no mercy rolling a d20. LOL

got a response from elorin they're saying they weren't able to access the thread anymore and thought that they'd been kicked out. Cm you might want to PM her and discuss if you wanted to come back or not she seems willing to play is just losing the thread and not being by accessing kind of us prevented her from posting.

I haven't p.m. and um azlain but maybe the same thing happened to him?

f Elf bard/4. Init +2/Low-Light Vision/Perception +11/ AC16, T12: FF14/

hi everyone, I am back. I have missed my elven brethren.

Yes there was a mix up with the threads and I misinterpreted that.

Wow I have a lot to catch up on. please forgive me if my posts are slow while I find out what has gone on and what is going on.

CM Thank you for adding me again.

CM feel free to NPC Elorin during this encounter to not slow things down. I will post again when I am caught up.

I had a problem with an earlier player and I was quite direct to them via PM. I had no intent of booting Elorin or Azlain; I thought they were getting too busy for this. Sorry for any confusion. Attrition is so bad, I just figured that was what happened here.

Especially after I gave Elorin the brutal logic puzzle.
