An old school homebrew campaign for a party of Elves. They will interact with a party of dwarves on an increasing basis.

The Witch King of Angmar got done in by a freakin' hobbit tag-teaming with an untrained fighter with a broken arm. "Chump" doesn't begin to describe it.

The ringwraiths got drowned by a bunch of river horses and they're afraid of torches.... Lol

At least it took a tag team to beat the witch king. He still beat gandalf by making his staff explode, killed king theodin and beat up the shield maiden who eventually stabbed him in the face. :)

The ringwraiths stabbed some pillows, killed the 80 yearold gate keeper, it took 9 of them to eventually stab a single hobbit. :)

Witch king wins~ :D

I'm going to get out my big old nerd-peen here...

The Witch King was a ring-wraith. He was the one who stabbed Frodo at Weathertop.

(Bonus nerd trivia, Weathertop used to be the fortress of Aman-Sul. It was sacked and destroyed by the Witch King about 1500 years before Frodo was stabbed there)

Guess I read into it that Ringwraiths were something else than the Witch King, and rather chump-like. :)

All of the "nine rings made for men"-bearers were ringwraiths, yes. We're saying that the Witchking died like a chump.

That's my only real complaint with the movies. In the books, the sword Merry uses to stab the Witchking was found in the Barrow-Downs, the graves of the Dunedain buried with their weapons enchanted specifically to defeat the Witchking - which is why Merry was able to pierce the Witchking's sorcerous protections and allow Eowyn to deliver the killing blow. None of that was shown in the movies, which strains credulity for why he hadn't been earlier defeated if any old weapon could've done so.


That was one conceal roll I wanted to do again!

Doh! If I could have shot it I would have lol! I thought that when you said it moved to be at the stern of the ship that I couldn't see it to shoot it. That was why he abandoned the ballista and tried to save the others in the lull of not having something to shoot.

My mistake :(


I pointed out it had cover to make it a tough shot. Windfavor would have hit it except for the 20% conceal.

I miss the old haste and the extra standard action you got. XD i'd have started reloading this round but I have two full rounds ahead of me to get it loaded...

All I had was a sword when he woke up, no bow, no armor and a massive siege weapon is my only recourse for damage dealing....

:( Wil is having a bad day. He also was following Seltyn's order/saw that the creature. Had a hold of thalas so pulling on the rope for Azlain wouldn't have done much good if we wanted to recover Thalas... :(

So azlain is no longer going to try and save thalas and I'm not loading the ballista?

I see what actions were stated for me or did I miss a whole new round somehow?


It takes two to reload or two full rounds. I had Wil pull Azlain in. Let me know if you'd rather start the reload.

Azlain would not have allowed himself to be pulled up without having ahold of Thalas.

Thalas passed out above azlain, he'd have basically fallen right on him. Should have been pretty easy for Azlain to grab him.


Thalas was grabbed by the Deep One. Rather than swim back, you can attempt to break him free.

Wil: Forget the ballista. It's on the wrong end of the boat. Let's get some bows in some hands and take advantage of those extra attacks while we can. If you have no bow, get Talon on his feet, first, then take Windfavor's or grab your own, whichever's quicker.

Azlain: If it's your CMB vs. the monster's CMD, you're going to lose. Get One-shot from Thalas (I think he has it, or do you?), and get back on the boat. Your good checks should allow you to do that much.

The only way to save Thalas is to kill the deep one before it swims away with him. We can't wrestle it.

We'll deal with our other problems once it's dead.

Okay, that could have better and could have been worse. For allowing the Trojan horses aboard undetected, things turned out quite well. The perceptive sea captain kept the assassinations to a minimum.

@Chainmail Is it okay to change my current Mercy: Fatigue to something else as I get the Fatigue mercy from the necklace as well? Just thought I'd ask. :)
