I try to search for identifiable traits in the creature (maybe it's some sort of undead or outsider) and deduce its intentions, as well as identify any spell it might be casting.

Glaive nods to Alastor, and attempts a smile, failing miserably. "Thanks - I won't!"

After accepting the proffered rope, he ties the prisoner, being sure to make the bonds tight.

"Anywhere but here. Make like this one is injured, and we may be able to escape…"

Thinking quickly, Glaive shoves his shapeless poncho over the hapless prisoner, then with the warforged between him and Codrus begins to make toward the main artery leading to this ally.

"Make way! Injured guards coming through! Make way!!!!"

Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 to move the crowd out of the mouth of the alley

"Grab the victim's ring and gear!" Codrus calls back to the Human and Lizardwoman as he shoots a glare at the crowd to hasten their parting. "No point leaving them for looters!"

"Now we need a secure place to sort this all out..." he mutters to Glaive as the clear the crowd.

Zakmakiv nods to the minotaur, and quickly heads to the human body quickly removing seemingly important items and stowing them quickly away, before resuming taking up position behind the warforge altering herself appearance to blend in with surroundings, keeping an eye out for followers.

As you search the dead man, you quickly find two items of note: A golden pocket device, that looks like a pocket watch. It has strange markings on its lid and you can not open it - at least not without closer examination and more time. The other thing is a torn piece of paper containing a short list of names and descriptions. Those are the names of you and your friends.

Despite not being particularly threatening when addressing the people gathering around, Alastor still has his bardiche in hands and keeps his eyes on the shadowy figure at all times.

Three men in the city watch uniforms push through the gathering observers. The leader has a barred sword in his hands and a small globe of arcane light orbiting his head, while the two behind him have halberds.

"By the Six! What is happening here?!", the leader shouts. "By the order of the Watch, everyone drop your weapons! Somebody better explain what happened here!" He turns to the watchers. "And you, lot - disperse!"

Not wanting to be a target of the city watch, she quickly stows the arrow and slings her bow onto her back once more. She remains still, and silence while looking out for any threat to her, as she ponders the note with her name on it, How did the Black Mambas find me so quick... Also why are the name of those I just met also on the note too.

Glaive has slightly better Diplo (+9) but I agree Alastor is better suited to relations with human watch officials…

And as before, don't forget you guys can Aid Another very simply by scoring 10 or more, each success adds 2 to the character in question's attempt

Glaive puts his falchion away with professional alacrity, and makes an attempt at assuming a non-threatening stance.

"Thank you officers for the timely warning. We will endeavor to approach all future hostilities with a minimum of bloodshed and apply to the appropriate channels for aid."

Let us have the grace of some moment's light conversation. There are those nearby, watching this scene, who are fell and mighty. We would thwart their aims, and vouchsafe our own safety."

Codrus rumbles in his chest, but relents. "Very well, we'll come for him in the morning." motioning the others aside, he tells them "It will take time for his friends to come for him," He whispers, "I should make my way near the guardhouse at sunset and keep my own watch."

He turns to the assembled adventurers.

"Well, perhaps we should introduce each other somewhat. I'm Glaive - this [indicates other warforged] is Tarragon and this is Tomp. Currently looking for employment. And now looking for answers. And you all are?"

Happy to skip introductions if folk want - Glaive is pretty much looking to return to the inn we were in and secure lodgings for his group before fronting up at the watchhouse in the morning...

Looking to see where the guards are, she whispers to the warforge, "Perhaps it is best we find some place more private and more secure than here to discuss what happened and figure out what is going on."
