Updates now!

Sorry for the long delay there folks. Now that the Ruins of Azlant Recruitment is humming along, posting will come much quicker!

That is the last new game I am recruiting for until something else closes down. It'll be a while before that happens based on the adventures I have going on right now.

Table I - The Final In City Issues Prior to the Journey

Caelan mark off 257 GP for the Shield & 4,000 GP for the +1 Mithril Longsword.

Xetovia, just realized I did not respond to the question about the tube, yes you can refill it.

Ama, based on your post, I'll assume you marked off teh cost of those items. On the trip you can attempt Spellcraft checks to learn those two spells.

Bad assed Goblin! Gotta love it Table II :-)

Heads up everybody:

I will be leaving for GenCon tomorrow, and as I am working, I do not know how much time I will have to check on games, let alone post to them.

Ballsy move! :-) And it worked.

Updates now for both tables.

I'll try to turn this over a bit quicker! Especially for Table II as you are in combat.

I'll update both tables tonight too tired last night and too busy this morning!

While Xetovia wouldn't have any overall personal preference for sitting in either the first or second wagon, the one thing that she may have to take into consideration (apart from whomever she gets to spend time with upon the journey) is which one Gauntlet would be placed in- if she's in the same wagon that he is, she'll definitely have to keep her left hand under close supervision. ;p

Come to think of it, is there an "in-game"/"to hit" difference between having the top down or not; and would that top be strong enough to support the weight of people standing on top of it?

During the attack, Xetovia may (depending on the actions of those whom she's seated with) end up using her tube arrow shooter to make a ranged attack. I was thinking of having her load up on the arrow shooter as a full round action and having her left hand, Dol Durand, make the actual ranged attack on it's own full round action. Would something like that be okay by you, GM the Dragon Above? If not, it's not really an issue- Xetovia will just have to make an attack with the shooter every other round. ;)

I was considering RPing the trip but I want to slide past that assuming that the group gets along well enough, I feel you have all become a fairly cohesive unit.

I would assume that you are in a wagon with Erix and Caelan as you seemed to have bonded with them the best (and there are only 6 of you so 3 and 3 makes sense).

The In game difference is that with the top UP, the PCs in the wagon have cover, unless they step out. Whereas if the cover is off, no cover.

Yeah, I'd be OK with that as Dol Durand does have a mind of his own :-)

Pink-Eye wrote:
standing on a wagon with reach can I hit the buggers on the sides?

YOU could because of your height and length of arms and weapon :-)

---

Table I:

With respect to the wagons, I'll give the group till Sunday to post a Yea or Nay on the wagon tops. Thereafter, I'll simply make my own judgment call and post the villain combat actions accordingly!

I'll also get a map up too :-)

As I am about to go on vacation anyway, I'll give Table I a bit more time to ascertain how they want to array themselves.

--

My vacation will also give Table II a chance to Post in the next round of combat as I know some vacations and bad weather may be effecting posting rates this close to the Unofficial end of summer :-)

Have a Safe and Fun Trip. :)

In terms of close in-character bonding, Erix/Caelan/Xetovia being in one wagon does make plenty of in-game sense; wasn't originally sure how everyone would want to be placed in which wagon of their choice, so I hadn't made any in-character post as of yet.

In terms of Wagon-tops though, would it be possible to have one wagon with the top down ("Pink-Eye's standing room only attack") and one with the top up? It'd be a great visual identifier for our hostile attackers... "Yewz! Take dat wagon wit da top on! I'z gonna deal wit da one wit dat minotaur dat's all standin' up-like!"... plus it could help to narrow down the choices (wanna be in the wagon with the top on or be in the wagon that has the top off?)

At any rate, Xetovia would opt for some kind of shade-giving top cover since she's already lightly armored, relatively (the same goes for both Erix and Ama, in terms of actual AC).

And thanks for the permission for letting Dol Durand assist with Xetovia's attack action. It would have to wait until her next attack round though since she's got to take out both the tube arrow shooter and the ammunition; not to mention, she has to first spot whom she'll be attacking. ;)

Holy that took a while Table I!

But combat is FINALLY up and running for the caravan cliffs ambush.

---

Table II, combat over. I sense that we may have lost Beylinda unfortunately. I'll give the Player another week before I pull them out of the current PC list.

The good news I believe is that Taryn should be back with us soon!

Didn't matter in this case, what with it dying anyway, but the goblin needed a second will save from my effect: one for the power and one for the enervation.
I'll try to summarize it better next time. The mechanics are a little new to me, too, and very chance based.

I suspected that might be the case but when Taryn's attack wiped him out, I just went with a single save. :-)

I do indeed, 10 is just from 1st level, I forgot to increase from leveling. How are you doing HP for this game? Though, if it's not max, I think I am still unconscious, as I have no Con bonus. And of course, I don't think my two deeds that might be able to save me would work as I can't see the attacks coming.

Edit: Never mind, they are ranged attacks! I'm screwed!

Either roll OR 1/2 +1 HP for base class.

If you roll high enough you'll still be up. :-)

Obviously, if you choose to roll you'll have to stick with whatever you get.

1d10 ⇒ 8 HP roll.

Shadow, are we allowed to choose which method each level or must we stick with the one we use at level 2?

Nice roll! You are still rocking with 2 HP after the its you took!

You can decide to use whatever method you prefer for each level individually so you are not locked into this decision when Level 3 rolls around.

hey all, sorry for the long absence! I won't bore you all with the details of how insane my summer was but now that all I have going on is work, my family, and the busiest semester I'll ever have in grad school I'm easing back into my games. Thanks for keeping Taryn around. I'm going to read through the posts I missed right now and (hopefully) have a post up this afternoon or evening.

Great, once you are done, I'll get you in on the combat on Table I.

The mechanics and descriptions are done. I need to fill in her background to finish her off.

Welcome Back to the Eberron madness, Taryn (and Beylinda). :)

Congrats on joining us and Welcome to Table 1, Meridian. :)

Now if Erix also ends up with a fumble on the second round, it'll certainly be a sign of the "GCP Joe dice syndrome" upon the humanity of Eberron. ;)

Does some research upon "GCP Joe dice syndrome; taking 20 upon said research plus all the appropriate modifiers...

Y'know, there might be a solution to all this dice roller affliction...

A Neon Green solution. Still not sure if it has to be something worn, wielded, or ingested in real life or if a mere depiction of something neon-green (like a jpg or background) has to be placed in the computer...

further research must be conducted... ;)

or it could just be that the online dice roller is broken...

As for that whole saw-toothed "Rutterkins" blade stuff in my last post... let's just say that a virtual, imaginary Chibi-Xetovia (complete with sharp monstery teeth and angry tic-marks) kept bugging my mental well-being (and consciousness) about how it was all unseemly that she was wielding some a wickedly alter-dimensional crimson bug-headed assassination weapon; so I managed to finagle an explanation to her about how, in Eberron, the sawtoothed sabre was actually an "art-house" weapon design, implementing both Talenta and Xendrik design aesthetics by some hipster weapons designer who went by the nickname of "Rutterkins" (no relations to any saw-like blades wielded by evil extraplanar forces of the same name) and that the sawtoothed sabre found some limited popular usage during the Last War due to it's lighter weight (and less steel required in it's manufacture) and all, earning its' name "Rutterkin blades" and it has absolutely nothing to do with any palette swaped "Kamen Rider" lookalikes. I think she was somewhat mollified with that hasty explanation of mine (jury's still out if the Chibi-Dol Durand bought into my explainings though). ;p

Oh I dont know, extra dimensional giant mantis that want to eat all of humanity's souls? That couldn't be all that bad, right? I can think of worse ancient nameless beings waiting in Releigh or thr bottom of the ocean... heck I can just go garden variety titans and be looking at world ending apolocalypse. Oh well

No worries on the switch Xetovia, scroll of PfE is fine.

Table I updated. You are wearing down those foes as they can only seem to hit Erix! OK, a minor hit on our new PC but considering what it could have been, no bog deal.

Table II update coming up.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Table II now updated, still no sign of Beylinda. Perhaps the players computer is still on the fritz, I am just not sure. At any rate, I will Bot Beylinda until this crawl is over. At that time, if she is still not back, I'll just drop the PC as she is the 8th person in the group anyhow.

the Dragon Between wrote:

Thank you, the Dragon Between- sounds good to me. :)

Got m'self this Neon Green Fidget Spinner; will see if I can get some better rolls for our resident Eberronian Human Vampire Hunter- also might prove useful in "bribing" Chibi-Dol-Durand too... ;)

Don't worry, Caelan, she's still around; haven't really gotten around to posting until now. ;)

It lives!

I have managed to finally successfully update Table II, Table I I will get to tonight as well.

I do not quite see clear skies ahead but I'll try to keep up as best I can until I am feeling 100% better and back to normal so bear with me.

I assure you that unless I am dead, this campaign will be finished, hopefully soon at a more normal pace.

Sounds good to me, the Dragon Between, and no worries- we know you're doing the best you can.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well, 7 days is an improvement over my posting rate of the past 2 months...

FYI, Beylinda is now a full DMPC for the remainder of this adventure. The Player has been MIA from the boards for quite some time now. I'll not re-recruit that spot unless you all want to or someone knows someone who wants to get in on an Eberron game.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Sorry for the delays once more. Updates tomorrow for both Tables. Thanks for your patience all.

Divorce is moving along while Bankruptcy is in limbo a bit so no calm RL seas as of yet.

Hopefully by April the weather will warm up and RL madness will clear up as well and my posting rates will move back to where they were last year.
