This Tab shall the Discussion thread for both Group I - The Mysteries of Khorvaire and Group II - The Secrets of Sharn.

The Heir of Siberys shall be the guide of those who cross the length and breadth of Khorvaire.

While the Dragon Below shall lead those who dare the deadly environs of Sharn to ruin...

Ready Mr Dragon Below sir!

*sigh*

Looking forward to it!

@ GM Thanks, I too am looking forward to this! As I finalize my character have you had a chance to think about the potion glutton feat I PM'd you about? No worries either way, thanks.

No, there are a few open questions I need to answer which I will get to no later than Wednesday evening.

Thanks.

Those in Group II can invisidot in the Gameplay thread, dot an delete so you are dotting the entire thread.

Both groups will have the next two days to combine Backgrounds as you wish within each group for which you were selected as well as with the other Group as you see fit.

These groups will encounter one another here and there but will generally be campaigning separately.

Probably Wednesday night I will finalize all questions you have regarding rulings and review final links to one another. I am looking to have Gameplay for both threads up and running on Thursday.

My table top game is this Friday so do not expect to see any posting from me that night.

I anticipate running both groups through 9th-11th level. Not sure I have any ideas past that but time will tell.

Some of you play in games that I currently run. Those of you who do not, if you wish to get a feel for my DMing style you can cick on my Profile which lists all the games I run. The Vampire thread being the primary one.

Welcome to Eberron!

Do I need a more official background, or is the ten minute background good enough?

Also, will create a alias shortly.

Two to Three paragraphs are sufficient plus one extra paragraph explaining ties to any other PC's. If that fits into the 10 minutes background so be it!

I made just a basic intro post in the gameplay thread. I didn't really do anything with it, so I hope that's okay.

Artival Brisboir wrote:

Sure not a problem.

I'll get Gauntlet up to snuff shortly.

OK, Gauntlet is basically up and running.

Backstory/Development:
Gauntlet has few friends and does not trust anybody from House Cannith. He's unsure of the other houses, but tends to avoid them on
principal. He gets what little money he needs from occasional work as a body guard or tough guy. He stays on the lower levels usually
and tends to shy away from limelight or notice if he can. He does not call many people his friend (except Micky P, his work 'broker')
but has plenty of acquaintances who are familiar with his work and abilities.

I'm not sure how much he would fit into another character's backstory, but let me know if you have an idea.

Sovereign Court

Hello everyone! I'll be playing Caelan d'Orien, a human fighter (tactician) with the dragonmark of Passage. I'm part of group 1, Mysteries of Khorvaire. Totes open to various connections and background stuff. :)

I had a flash of inspiration. We could use an event to tie us all together. I was thinking an airship disaster. Where we are either in or nearby a crashing airship. We could post the carnage and our heroic efforts in a round robin. Saving men women and children and eachother, Culminating in a recognition ceremony for those who braved the disaster and saved so many.

Any thoughts on this idea?

Sovereign Court

Arcanum?

Just getting back from a long weekend out. I will have an alias and intro posts up later today. Thanks for the selection!

So should we be posting character intro posts in the Discussion or Gameplay thread? Going forward, which IC stuff goes in Discussion and which in Gameplay?

Eberron - Echoes of the Past - Players from Table I The Mysteries of Khorvaire will post all I/C in the Gameplay thread.

Mellowgoth - Viorr - Elf (Two Weapon) Fighter,
Jeremy Clements - Gauntlet of Sharn - Warforged - Magus (Mindblade),
Edelsmirge - Pink-Eye - Minotaur - Cleric,
Gerald - Artival Brisboir - Human Monk,
Me'mori - Ama Freewater - Khoravar Wizard (Water),
Jesse Heinig - Caelan d'Orien - Human Fighter (Tactician),
MonkeyGod - Erix Orien - Human - Swashbuckler Mysterious Avenger.

WHILE

Eberron - Echoes of the Past - Players from Table II Secrets of Sharn will post all I/C in the Discussion thread.

G-unit - Dharakk - Half-Orc - Investigator,
haruhiko88 - Rission d'Lyrandar - Half-Elf Gunslinger,
nate lange - Taryn d'Lyrandar - Half-Elf - Bloodrager,
goodwicki - Carduus "the Bemourned - Human - Oracle of Life,
WreckTall - Liberte' - Human (Empty Vessel) - Psychic Warrior,
Oceanshieldwolf - Haqueton - Warforged Vigilante (Stalker), and
Algar Lysandris - House Deneith - Human Arcanist Blade Adept.

BOTH groups will post all OOC in the Recruitment Thread.

I have a Star Wars Saga game Player vs. Player vs. Player using this format and it is working well for me.

Posting for the group cross over I will announce once the groups actually cross over.

Clear?

Note that those in the Discussion Thread posting will need to post in the Gameplay thread and then delete that post to DOT the thread properly.

Ah! Now I see - perfectly clear.

Gauntlet, Viorr is also finding patch-work as hired muscle, though I don't see him working with anyone in particular for too long (Flighty elf, ya know...)

How about we worked security for opposite sides of a negotiation or such. A couple "Legitimate businessbeings" looking to settle differences peacefully, but neither trusting the other enough to come unaccompanied. We were basicly paid to stand around and look intimidating for a couple of hours...

So we might recognize each other, but not really know each other. Interested?

Table II: Secrets of Sharn

Carduus is a mercenary for hire, could easily have worked/be working with any other PCs with a similar background. He could also be employed by a House and know some characters that way, or be familiar with anybody who also resides in the refugee tenements of High Walls.

EDIT: Totally looked at the wrong character list the first time around.

That's sounds fine by me. Casual acquaintances are mostly who he knows anyway. Looks like we would work well with each other too. You have the speed, and I have durability.

Well, everybody needs a back-street healer on their list of contacts, especially in Sharn (I'm assuming that is where we are starting.) Especially one who can work under pressure and keep his mouth shut. The fact that you don't have any direct allegiance to an actual religion or house is a bonus too.

@Gauntlet: Turns out we're in different tables, but if Shadow wants a link between the two groups in place, I'm all about working for Mickey P.

Yes both Groups will start in Sharn...

but both will not stay.

Sorry! Yes, that was basically the point I was trying to make, i just gobbed it. A good shadow-healer is always wanted and needed in big cities by almost everyone. So you would be a good link to almost anybody from either table.

Links between both groups make sense - even if they are not necessarily friendly - but the more important links are the ones within the group.

What is our current location? Are we scattered?

Table II: Secrets of Sharn

Given that several of us seem to be wandering the streets and/or newly arrived, we could all meet as patrons of the same locale (perhaps where Rission cooks, Liberte gambles, Carduus is employed as backup to the bouncers, and the rest merely quench their thirst or rest their weary feet.)

I'm not opposed to the Hindenburg scenario, if the Dragon Below doesn't think that it's taking too much liberty (setting ourselves up as heroes of the city as background.)

If we don't need everyone in the group linked prior to proper play starting, Carduus could easily be on loan from Mickey P to House Lyrander or Deneith and know the characters associated with those Houses. Carduus is also a veteran of the Last War, providing a possible link to any other vets.

Sovereign Court

Table I: The Mysteries of Khorvaire

Caelan is a former military man for Orien, and if anyone else served in the Last War (Gauntlet, you seem like a likely candidate) we may have crossed paths then. Also, since he is favored of House Orien, he tends to have perks like riding the lightning rail, so nearly anyone could have met Caelan on the railways.

Table I:

Artival might have met any member of a Dragonmarked House in prior dealings as a member of House Deneith. This could have been in any bodyguarding type of duty.

Yes unless you choose not to be. :-)

Sure, having any one of you or all of you being minor Heroes is fine with me.

Well, there is always Micky P for us non-house affiliated. He's an NPC I created for my back ground that acts as my job 'broker.' He gets Gauntlet the occasional odd job and take a bit off the top for his services.

From my Background:
"...an old one-legged former Brelish army mule-skinner named Farley McPheer, or Micky "P" as everyone calls him. Mickey acts as Gauntlet's part-time manager and occasional job broker. Gauntlet trusts him because Mickey vehemently hates all Dragon-marked houses for his own reasons, claiming they are all in "cahoots" with each other to overthrow Breland's rightful government."

He could be a relatively simple way to bring some of us together. He just has to have a "job" he thinks we would all be perfect for!

Table II: Secrets of Sharn

I just figured the Hindenburg scenario would be some exciting prose to write, and a strong bond for us to start with. But I'm fine with happenstance meeting in a bar as we go through a get-to-know-you back and forth as well.

We just need a general consensus with group 2 at the very least.

table 2

I'm fresh off the boat (from Stormhome), so I won't have much connection to most of the other characters. I was PMing with Rission and he and I went to school together before he left. As for an airship crash, unless it just happened when I arrived (via airship) I won't have been a part of that.

Is this something that will JUST happen or has already happened? I prefer already happened as it will be a neat bow for how you all know one another unless some in the group just arrived in Sharon for the first time...

Or it could be used as flash back to when those that just arrived (a few days prior) on the ill fated ship. And those already here and in a position to run and help... That's kind of why I suggested a round robin of the event. With the conclusion being a recognition ceremony.

However From the recent posts, I get the impression that most want a tavern meet and greet, which I am perfectly good with

No real preference myself. I tend to go with whatever makes it easier on the GM inthe end (I swear I'm not kissing up here...) but I got to say an airship crash has its merits for forging quick bonds. Especially if the elemental gets loose to rampage through town too and has to be put down...

Table 2 I'm up for anything, I like the airship idea but tavern may be easiest at this point.

I think I figured out a way to do both. post up in a bit

Table 1.

DM, I've come down with the ick. I assume it'll be a day or two to get to feeling better, so I'll be a little less frequent here than usual.

No worries.

Tomorrow night I will be addressing questions from players on Rulings related to Feats and Abilities and Traits.

Thursday night I have plans but will be home early and Gameplay in both threads will formally begin.
