Liberty's Edge

This thread is for accepted characters' player's out of game discussion...for now, I want all the ideas you want to share. :)

male Aasimar, angel-kin paladin 6 OoV HP: 56| AC: 22 T:12 FF:20| CMD: 23| Fort:+11| Ref:+9| Will:+10| Init: +2| Perception:+10

do I belong here?

possible ideas-
Cult unleashes a secert dark ritual of ugathora
The lines between the plane of shadows and material plane become hair thin.
A alchemist goes insane searching for ways to give himself eternal life and unleashes the "plaque"
People just turn after dieing, period.

For crafting starting gear Bill would probably charge 25% markup of cost or 58% of base price. Unless this is post outbreak at which point I would charge flat cost or trade for valuables.

Liberty's Edge

Incidentally...the map is 5 miles per hex...the skull and crossbones are battle sites...three dots = ruins...

Male Ratfolk Alchemist(Vivisectionist/Internal Alchemist) 1 |HP 9/9| AC 18(T15/FF14)|CMB -1; CMD 13 | Saves Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2| Initiative +4, Perception +7, Sense motive +1

Map is cool. I guess this are has no cities. Is it a frontier sort of place?

Vitals:
HP: 11/11 | AC: 17 T: 13 FF: 14 | Will: +2, Ref: +5, Fort: +4 | Init: +3 Perc: +6 | Effects: none
Abilities:
being suspicious of everybody
Male Human Ranger 1 Trapper Archetype

Nice map. Was wondering one thing though, I see the mountains and hills, but no forests? I suppose they are there, but not shown to not clutter the map to much?

Male Ratfolk Alchemist(Vivisectionist/Internal Alchemist) 1 |HP 9/9| AC 18(T15/FF14)|CMB -1; CMD 13 | Saves Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2| Initiative +4, Perception +7, Sense motive +1

is there an online document to the E6 pathfinder stuff?

All I know is that there isthis page, which doesn't have an online document. You can download pdf's there though. Reminds me that I need to download them still, although I figured they weren't that necessary yet for level 1 :)

Liberty's Edge

See the dotted line that runs around most of the county?

That's the edge of the forest...

...it's almost all forest. ;)

...and yes, Morella county is considered a backwater.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks for the P6 link...I didn't know it was that codified. I may use most of that...but I was working out my own rules for ritual magic...it won't be too much of an issue for a while, at any rate. :)

Liberty's Edge

I'm hoping you guys will establish a little while things are a bit normal...

Male Ratfolk Alchemist(Vivisectionist/Internal Alchemist) 1 |HP 9/9| AC 18(T15/FF14)|CMB -1; CMD 13 | Saves Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2| Initiative +4, Perception +7, Sense motive +1

So definitely no zombie breakout yet?

Liberty's Edge

Not just yet...but I'm wondering where some folks went...

I wonder the same ...

Male Human Fighter (Lore Warden) 1

Hey, all -- I got distracted/buried in offline things and hadn't realized how long it'd been since I logged in.

Probably best if I *not* try to jump in now, since I can't give any promise that my life is any less crazy the next few weeks... :(

Well, I'm glad to see you're still alive and not already eaten by some zombies or whatnot ^_^
I wouldn't mind if you still jumped in.
Game is going at a leisurely pace, so shouldn't be a problem I think?

But this is all my opinion and the GM might have a different one.

Liberty's Edge

Just post when you can...I'll work you into the story then. :)

Liberty's Edge

So...now that it's all started...please feel free to post your feelings on the game. I'm still very open for thoughts about people, places, and things. I appreciate constructive criticism...give me any feedback you have. :)

Liberty's Edge

I'm preparing a map of Greenleaf. It's about half done. Once I finish it, I'll do The Grounds...that won't take long at all.

Liberty's Edge

Greenleaf was taking a while, so I went ahead an posted The Grounds...I'll have at least an unfinished version of Greenleaf by late tonight or early morning.

Male Aasimar Ranger (Divine Tracker/Trapper) / Inquisitor (Sanctified Slayer) 7 (HP 60/60) (AC 21/14/17) (CMD 23) (Fort +11, Ref +14, Will +13) (Init +9) (Perception +20)

Take your time :-)

Liberty's Edge

Ok...Greenleaf is unfinished, but up at least.

Looks nice :)

Male Ratfolk Alchemist(Vivisectionist/Internal Alchemist) 1 |HP 9/9| AC 18(T15/FF14)|CMB -1; CMD 13 | Saves Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2| Initiative +4, Perception +7, Sense motive +1

I can see my house from here!

Liberty's Edge

Yes, you can. ;)

The small place, long and narrow, in the middle of the ruins, with a slightly wider building just south of it, and a square building across the street? That's Kaars' shop.

The large square building at the end of a street, by the river...that's the Rusty Buzzard.

The large building next to the graveyard is a tentement, with shops on the bottom floor. It's three stories, while most buildings on that side of the river are two.

The huge house with a tower...that's the Compton estate...possibly the richest family in town...it was also where Karsh made his residence during the occupation. Though it's back in the hands of the Compton family, to say that things are back to normal would be something of an exaggeration...

Liberty's Edge

The Greenleaf map is complete. One square=30'...Kaars and Timothy are in q25, Basil is in p32. The front door of the Rusty Buzzard is in p21.

Liberty's Edge

So...does anybody do business with The Hob?

Think about it for a while...the townsfolk whisper all sorts of nasty rumors about these strange folk... ;)

Liberty's Edge

Hob:
There's a peculiar quality about The Dell...when it rains...it tends to rain hard...and it NEVER floods. It's a karst terrain... ;)

EldonG:

Perfect :)

Liberty's Edge

Now would be an excellent time to suggest people, places, and things in your characters' backgrounds so that I have material to work with
Was there a cave you played in as a child? Are there ruins almost nobody knows about? What happened to your first love? Your family?

I tried this before, but maybe now it makes more sense to you....the more you have to give, the more personal and immersive I can make the campaign.

Well, the nearby farmer could be George, and his daughter Elspeth. Perhaps her fiancee to make things interesting.

How's this
Durn is as Taciturn as his name sounds. Halflings tend to be a cheerful lot, and Durn's wife certainly seems cheerful enough, but Durn is the exception that proves the rule. Perhaps it was the long years running the "caravan" that soured him - certainly year after year staring at the backsides of oxen four times higher at the shoulder than he was can't have been pleasant.
Still, hard work paid off and Durn's one (albeit massive) wagon caravan makes regular trips carting goods from Greenstand to Larkton, trundling from farm to farm along the way. There are many small breweries, distilleries, picklers, farriers, tobacconists and herb-growers among the farmers and Durn makes a good profit by cutting out the middleman - enough to cover the cost of the Caravan and led him (somehow) woo a Larkton wife.
The Family often trade furs and leather to Durn, accepting payment in alcohol. He won't come to their door, but there's a road that lives not to far off and the Family often post a watcher there when he's expected.

Liberty's Edge

Sweet.

This is great stuff...I assume Hob and Durn have some level of friendship, beyond just business?

Male Ratfolk Alchemist(Vivisectionist/Internal Alchemist) 1 |HP 9/9| AC 18(T15/FF14)|CMB -1; CMD 13 | Saves Fort +3, Ref +6, Will +2| Initiative +4, Perception +7, Sense motive +1

Kaars will have some connection to Hob and his family, maybe not friends but they at least understand how the humans don't like other different races.

Liberty's Edge

Where is Kaars' family? Are there any significant numbers of ratmen living anywhere in Morella county?

@EldonG: How's this. Mostly business, yes.
There was a time three years ago when one of the locals - Lucas tried to rob Durn while he was approaching the farm. Local was drunk, or high. Had a bow, put an arrow into the wagon near Durn and was threatening to put another into him. Hob threw his axe and somehow caught the tough full on.
Durn and Hob buried the body. Things were getting a bit tense when he returned, with Lucas' large family accusing The Family of something. Durn claimed Lucas had hitched a lift out to Larkton, and sent word back.
While its not really a murder, the manslaughter and its cover up has remained a secret between Hob, Durn and Durn's wife.

@Kaars: Sure. Merchant? Something else? I've been calling Kaars "Rat Man", which suggests either that the relationship is relatively weak or that they've some shared backstory that makes that a nickname with special significance.

Old Human Paladin of Iomedae hp 7/10, ac 17/10/17, per 1 , f2/r0/w3,

EldonG, what do we know about the Bright Temple?

After awakening, Krenlin will come to the junction of the King' Road and the Buzzard's street, looking around, w/y 21

Liberty's Edge

The Bright Temple is a temple to the Dawnflower, Sarenrae. It's a huge temple complex, actually, with a monastery and shrines to allied gods. :)

Old Human Paladin of Iomedae hp 7/10, ac 17/10/17, per 1 , f2/r0/w3,

Heh - just to mention, I won't always be able to keep up this pace during the day, though I will usually be good for at least a couple posts a weekday...

A combination of a slow work day and the giddy rush of a new game...

Liberty's Edge

I figured something like that. Glad you joined...and happy it works for you.

As you've likely seen, I'm looking for lots of suggestions on this one. :)

Welcome father Krenlin!

Old Human Paladin of Iomedae hp 7/10, ac 17/10/17, per 1 , f2/r0/w3,

Thanks! hopefully I can run into some other folks in game soon.

Old Human Paladin of Iomedae hp 7/10, ac 17/10/17, per 1 , f2/r0/w3,

Hey, all;

I'll be on the road this weekend with limited time and access, so you probably won't hear from me until Sunday evening.

Enjoy and don;t get eaten...

Old Human Paladin of Iomedae hp 7/10, ac 17/10/17, per 1 , f2/r0/w3,

EldonG;

Outside of the Shrine, I went for a bull rush, rather than a trip or knockdown - I think I would have just pushed him back, rather than knocked him over. So, as much as I'd love an AoO, I think he'd get his actual turn...

Liberty's Edge

Hmmm...ok, good point. I'll correct that, then.

spells:
CLW, CLW (Cast). 0 = Guidance, Message, Resistance

I'm going to be WOI (With Out Internet) for two days - sorry guys.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry to hear it...but all good. :)

spells:
CLW, CLW (Cast). 0 = Guidance, Message, Resistance

am back!

Liberty's Edge

Ya didn't miss much.

Okay if Hob memorises some spells, casts one and heads out of the Barn? If there's a chance of talking with Elspeth, or even George, he'd take it.

Liberty's Edge

Sure.
