Ausk noticed Dharkantia talking to Tolus and grinned, calling out to her Making a battle plan already, Dharkantia? You don't still feel bad about your throws, do you?

Kasatha Brawler

Dharkantia looks over at him her nititating eyelids blinking.

"You tell me."

Moving to a ball she picks it up.Turning it this way and that until she got a grip that fit her four fingered hands and throws it at him putting her strength behind it.

"Catch."

Throw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Nothing seems that amiss this morning, there are a few passes by walking torwards the walls of the lower part of the city, but nothing suspicious.

Come on over here Linli, Mr. Woon will work with you on your passing technique while we see if any of you players can catch!

The coach called waving one of the men down on his end torwards you. When he gets close you realize he is slightly unremarkable. He was about average height and kinda lean, dirty blonde hair that was lazily kept messy atop his head.

Hey guys, nice to meet you, I'm Nordy Jelson, I was well the one of the back up catchers on the team but Coach Dreen is going to have me lead you through the catching drills. The first three passes will be basically thrown right where you are standing, just try to catch it with your hands. I know Mr. Woon will probably put it right at chest level. If you drop the first couple ones no worries I'll show you how to use your body to help catch it if your hands dont want to co-operate. The next three passes will have you running with the passer trying to hit you in stride. Running and catching isnt that much more complicated than standing here, you just have to learn to judge it really. I show you a few.

He said and waved towards the coach and the two 'throwers' You all could see the older man say something to Linli, the he wound up and threw the ball. It sailed through the air spiraling almost perfectly into the wait outstretched hands of the young man sent to guide you.

See pretty easy. Lets get started
alright folks give me 3 Catch checks DC 15.Then give me 3 checks at DC17 for the catches on the run. Use your Dex bonus. Add a +2 if you have any skill points in acrobatics, and for the time being take a -2 for unfamiliarity of both the catching of the ball and being slightly hampered by the kits padding.

0 catches:
Nothing wrong with having stone hands, just focus on keeping the other team from our offensive players! The coach yelled muttering under his breath.

1to3 catches:
Not bad not bad If we have the ball and you happen to find yourself with no opposition around keep you eyes open, we might have to throw you the ball! The coach called clapping his hands a bit

4to5catches:
Excellent excellent Woo! We are gonna shock those drakes I tell you, Get with Nordy after this and he will go over the specifics of the position. The coach called sounding really excited.

6catches:
The coach was just silent but you could see his grin from the opposite end of the pratice space. Afterwards The older man came forward and clapped you on the shoulder. You remind me of the GOAT Rarry Jice. A natural a pure natural, get with Nordy and work on getting a bit open, We'll talk closer to game time about special plays. He was genuinely smiling, and looked positively excited.

It was easy to tell the strange and exotic four armed female could track the ball in its arc, especially on the move... just the art of holding onto the ball seemed problematic. You all could see the coach muttering to the two throwing the ball and shaking his head.

Alright Alright dont worry over it, next! He called out to her.

He smiles at the coach's outside and enthusiasm. At least he wouldn't be left wondering what to do when the game started.

Ausk attempted to catch the ball Dharkantia so sassily threw-

Ausk pounded his chest again after catching Dharkantia's throw Hahaha, I suppose you WERE still a little upset after all, eh, Dharkantia?

His confidence clearly damaged his ability to catch, but this was still of no matter to Ausk GOOD! I have solidified my position as a defense man, I didn't catch a single running throw!!!

Do not worry, Dear Dharkantia, Ausk will eat anyone who intercepts the ball :) Of course, my CMB will suddenly roll all natty 1's on the d20 and then we are all screwed, lol

Kasatha Brawler

You missed rolling one of the running catches.

"Pay attention!" She barked as the last throw went his way.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

Ausk grinned "No, I didn't"

Holding one hand up cool like as he ran out for the catch, Ausk attempted to catch the ball without looking, one handed

I have no idea what you are talking about, Dharkantia!!! See???

Damn it, she caught me. Alright Ausk, maybe you are a little TOO excited. He smiled sheepishly at Dharkantia as he walked back to her

Doesn't matter, even though I caught it, we all know Ausk wants defense. Hahaha

Lucky catch <3

Tolus claps when Ausk starts show boating. Really, anyone could see that it was lucky from the instant of surprise that preceded the confident showman's smile. Tolus want about to call it unimpressive though, lucky our not.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

Ausk scratched the back of his head intensely, afraid that too much praise would give the captains the idea that he too could catch the ball in the game- and he really didn't want that.

Ah, thank you Tolus! BUT, don't forget, Sulieman had just as many good catches as I, and he's not a show off! Right, Dharkantia???

Ausk looked to Sulieman, hoping he would take the praise as he quickly shuffled as far away from the drill station as possible. Damn it, I really DID take it too far- I can't believe I got that lucky!

Kasatha Brawler

Dharkantia would just shake her head looking around waiting for the next trial to start. Dharkantia could hear her mother's voice in her head.

'If you have weakness, get rid of it. If you can't do something. Master it. Either way, do no fail. You must be faster, stronger, better prepared. There is no room for failure. Now practice again.'

Shaking her head she looked at the others. At least everyone else had some showing in doing this.

Running to the ball seems easier since he can just grab it out of the air except for that last one where the thrower lead him into a pile of gear laid out on the field.

Getting up and brushing himself off he heads back to the others to see how they will humiliate him next.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

Julioooooo! YES! Ausk offers a chest bump to Julio

I think you could be another one of our catchers! I hope so, anyways. I really just want to scare the shit out of some people and knock someone unconscious. Ausk whispered, as he did not want to hear the coaches riff-raff about it being a team sport or that he would have to catch the ball.

He was on his way to becoming Orc- He would safely do as he pleased.

Suileman! Lucky! HA! I don't think so my friend, don't be so modest!

The coach and the two throwers walked over, the large dark skinned coach was rubbing his hands together. Alright alright, we got us quite a few good looking options, you there Tolus was it? After we do the contact drills I want you working with you go with them as well Julio?

He said obviously trying to make sure he had everyone's names correctly A couple of normal looking fellow hurried from one of the tents and began to set up a series of what appeared to be wooden dummies, though they all had padded stick arms.

This purpose of this drill is to help you hold onto the ball. What you will do is take a hold of the ball and run through the dummies. Your teammates will be on the wide of them controlling the 'arms'. They are going to try and knock the ball out of your hands, or knock you down. Dont let em. Jelsen Show them how its done.

He said clapping his hands once loudly. The helpful young fellow who aided you in pass catching took one of the balls and then started to run through the dummies, the men who had set them out were taking great joy in battering the plucky young reciever.

Running drill! You will need to make a series of five checks in acrobatics DC 15. Any check you fail, you must make a STR check of DC15 to keep a hold of the ball. Any of the balance checks you fail by 10, the DC to keep a hold of the ball goes up to 20.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

YES I GET TO HIT SOMETHING, FINALLY

Ausk grabbed the ball hurriedly and ran at the dummies full speed- he could give a shit about the ball- they'd learn eventually to let him do his thing and to not give him anything but a reason to smash someone in their way, or, protect the thrower, of course.

Tried to preview my ACR rolls so I could just put the STR checks next to them, and it re-rolled it. My biting the dummy was originally a 20 :( :(

Ausk dropped the ball multiple times- after the first two drops he no longer cared. Splinters flew as he slammed into the flimsy wooden dummies. On the last one he sunk his teeth into the "neck" of the dummy.

Oy! Dharkantia! See!!! I told you- I'LL EAT THEM! Ausk begin to laugh as he walked off the field, unsure of how the directors would feel about his ferocious but inappropriate behavior in the last drill.

Pretty sure I wouldn't mind protecting her, either, payback for that "I can take care of myself" comment for last night. Ausk hid his grin behind his hand as he tried not to laugh suddenly from the image he had in his head of what her face would look like after the game if he said such a thing.

Dharkantia looked at Suileman. "You have one more to do. But good job so far."

She told him as she looked at each of the original team members trying to gauge them. She already knew where she stood. So far her showing was far less than the males and this grated on her. Good thing her mother wasn't here other wise she would be getting an earful. Not being familiar with the game would give her some leeway but the fact she hadn't shown well at all. Yes, definitely a good thing her mother wasn't here.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

Oh Dharkantia. Your analysis is appreciated, but Ausk let his voice roll with a throttle again as he spoke to her This is just practice, after all.

Maybe he would be able to catch a drink before the real game started- that seemed to loosen him up, and Ausk was currently still faltering in and out of his blood rage.

Kasatha Brawler

The look on Dharkantia face contorted into something he didn't think was possible for her smooth features. The fact the mask covered half of it would make most men very thankful.

"I told you I don't half ass anything. If you are willing to half ass practice then how can I trust you not to half ass the game!"

The coach noticed the way in which the four- armed female kept track of and rode her new teammates made the large darkskinned older human smile.

Time for some good ol but very important tackling practice. All these offensive skills dont do us any good if they can run up the score.

He whistled and the men holding the stick arms pulled them out and instead set the dummies up side by side.

On our team everybody plays defense, even the old there will mark a player or two. That means tackling the opponent. Now it usually works better focusing on the ones who move the ball or might score, but even a lineman wont be much use blocking laying on his back so lets see you hit those dummies! Oh and Ausk, watch the teeth, dummies do cost some coin eh?

He began whistling to again to one of the other players you hadnt met who ran forward and dove into the dummy wrapping his arms about it and following it down to the ground. He rolled off the top of it and moved onto the next one doing much the same.

"GO GO GO!"

The coach called as the fallen dummy was stood up.
make 1 check per dummy their are five, the weigh progressively more so it starts at DC10, and works it way up through 11,12,13, and finally 14. It is your BAB (if you have one) and your str bonus

As everyone began to get ready to move into the drill the coach pulled aside Dharkantia for a moment and spoke lowly to her.

Tolus proceeds to knock himself silly on the dummy's. The second he's pretty sure fell on accident. Tackling was not for him. Not unless it was an emergency. Of all the tests, this was probably the most brutal, and every ounce of training up to this point was screaming at Tolus. "This Tackling, Can we grab them cause these little arms are great for grappling. Infact if I can, I can continue to hold or fight with my large hands while my small hands hold tight? I think we could use that as an advantage.l"

Kasatha Brawler

Dharkantia would watch the drill until the coach pulled her off to one side.

Whispering to Coach:

"Trying to hard? Nonsense. This is going easy compared to what I am use to. It's obvious my training will mean nothing here and I will have to train to do things on this.....field of battle so to speak."

Her voice was canted low as she spoke back.

Whispering to Coach:
"We can call it cultural differences for....drive. Now, as for stopping people from scoring that I can try. Can't be any worse than I have been doing. The odds are stacked against us and we barely have a grasp on this game. It is not a situation that curries things in our favor and I am well aware of that. Let's just say I have a thing against losing."

He can see his references to the boys and girls didn't quite go over well but she seemed to let it slide.

Whispering to Coach:
"So tell me about these shooters and their weak points."

Dharkantia watched Tolus as he worked seeing the difficulty he was having. One good solid hit was at least something.

Watching Throg afterwords she would smile and at his suggestions nods. "Actually you can squeeze the breath out of them as you go so they drop unconscious. After all, A knocked out player is a player that can't score. I think its a great idea Throg."

A six... aye yae yae

Ausk looked with pride at Throg YES! Hahaha THROG, we will both scare and squeeze the life out of them, eh?

Ausk was now looking very much forward to the game- he had messed up on a few, but when he wrapped up-

They weren't going to get back up- not a chance.

Kasatha Brawler

Dharkantia looks at Throg. "Fighting and using your lower arms to hold on makes sense. I was just adding you could do that also."

Turning to watch Ausk do his work she nods. "He is eager to be defense as you can see. Give him an excuse to go all out and he will it seems." She said with a chuckle.

Male Half-Orc Warrior/ 0

Ausk grinned at Dharkantia Ah, your talents are being put to use as a tactician, eh? He gave her a playful and gentle nudge Glad to see it- if we win you got my vote for Captain after all

Alright- defense defense defense. We play both, and I'm fine with that- either way I'm going to crush those players one by one until none of them are conscious.

Ausk gave a yearning, throttled roar as he replayed his tackling drill over and over in his head.

Yes- I wonder if my family will see me play? They bet now and again, being merchants and all that- hopefully they didn't bet on the drakes!
