Dungeon World - Strom's Six (Inactive)

Game Master Infernal Zero

This is a story, not about heroes and villains, but of the adventurers in the shadowy Lord Strom's employ. What's the job this time?

I prefer Loopy due to connection and I think the character better fits the story. Having the campaigns cross over once in a while could be fun as well, no?

That could be cool.

Indeed. The question is how that would be handled.

Hope I don't need to prod anyone. It's probably not justified, but I'm getting antsy waiting for anyone lacking a stated absence.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I may be waxing poetic here, but suppose we contrive the setting such that players move between two fronts, headed by characters played by the other GM. Our characters act as mercenaries for hire to the fates of Elena and a character of loopy's. Between "jobs" we can shuffle between games. Both games trading a cast of characters built in their first jobs.

It's a beautiful thought, but it would take some feat of collaboration between the two of you. Then we can combine games as folks leave.

It would simulate an adventurer's life: bouncing between plots. Two distant powers echoing through their lives.

Yeah, I'm thinking of locking it in for Loopys table. My concept of a cat burglar druid was sort of specific to this campaign idea.

I wouldve most likely rolled something more straightforward for Elena's table idea.

Happy to be serious about the assassination mission, once we ask some introductory questions I can't wait to see why we are all involved.

Understandable.

The situation is now:

Loopy's Table - 5 open spaces
Gromroir - Preferred
Fizzwiddle - Preferred
Terestria - Preferred, designed for setup
Bikke - Preferred
Nonna - Preferred
Tublat - Preferred

Elena's Table - 6 open spaces
Ropetail - Preferred
Gorn - Preferred
Tublat - Willing

Undecided
Yizid
Takesh - Unable to decide until at least Monday
Ramonde

Which leaves us with an issue, as far as preferences go. Also, non-vocal players.

Tublat, would you be alright to take a spot with Elena? It'd help with sorting, and you don't quite fit in established dynamics. Think about this IC - as suitable as you are for killing someone, you'd probably be an infohazard, for obvious reasons. That lowers your job suitability for this target. Plus, someone has to remind everyone else what likely awaits them over with me!

I'm going to check in on Ramonde and Yizid, just in case, but I feel like they and Takesh will operate better on Elena's table, due to the setup. If Tublat will join them and they have no massive objections, we have the tables sorted!

I concur with Loopy, because of the two camps of Character I have noticed developing in this thread.

A good metaphore for this is the movies Star Wars and Guardians of the Galaxy. For the record, I enjoyed both movies, but Star wars was played much more seriously, whereas GotG had a more out there cast, and strayed farther from genre conventions. One camp, containing myself, the Winter Herald, Elena, and Terestria are distinctly star wars, we are more traditional fantasy archetypes, whereas Tublat, Ropetail, Gorn, and Yzid are distinctly more nonconventional (GotG)

and then there are Fizzy, Bikke, Ramonde, and Takesh, who are all caught in the middle, able to fit the tone of ither table (if they... kot nessesarily ham it up, but embrace their eccentricity a little more, they can fit in with the Gorrilla psion, and the drider quite nicely, but if they lean slightly more traditional they will be a home with the physical, depowered god, and the magtech/steampunk kids)

As I say, both table look like they will be awesome, but the tone will be different based on the characters at them

I do enjoy the drider book actually. The implications that a PC drider brings are fun! Plus driders are awesome.

Alright then, though I'll have to tone down the brutality of Tublat ever so slightly. Either that or he seriously owes one of the other members.
I do have the thought that Tublat is an inmate of the prison from ages long past and is roaming freely.
There's ways we can go with this, I can do this.

As a point of interest, can two different campaigns connect to the same recruitment thread?

I guess I'll take Elena, since it looks like Loopy's table is full :)

i don't think so.

It looks like everything's pretty much sorted here, and I don't want to leave the thread to idle. It's been connected up, and discussion is now open for my group - the link's here.

Hope everyone else doesn't have to wait long.

Monday for mine, don't like starting over the weekend.

Maybe we could at least start discussion? Or would that be considered 'starting'?

I'm in the hospital right now, I should get out tomorrow, please start without me until I start posting again.

Oh yeah, that's fine.

Linky

Credit goes to Gromroir for the name.

For the record, I like this idea. I assume it would be some work for the GMs, but if it weren't a problem I would enjoy playing at both GMs.

I think that's a great idea too.

I actually think it could be handled fairly simply, so long as the GMs make it clear when one mission ends and another begins, and players trade evenly so that GMs aren't overwhelmed.
