I was going to have her look different in hell, but yes. There is a brand on the back of her skull like a raised snake bite. Active from the touch of Sephrahime, it would have runes around it like ruptured veins around a drug injection site. Hers looks healed, but that just means it's been a long time since she has been given orders. Neither side of this conflict should trust her except she usually caries the Censure of Hebron. She does not currently have a completed blade set. Looking forward to a Thor moment if/when she gets back to town, especially after a dip in hell.

Also, yes, in that order, with a dramatic pause. Her delivery is deadpan, but that was a joke.

Belym shakes her head at the braggarts. " Honestly. Seems to me like it's kind of moot... Won't slaying a literal surfacer diety outweigh any number of these minor beasts? Seems hardly worth counting at all."

I'd say we all head to the hell mouth just to be sure it's clear, and that Tom's GPS works on the other side.

At Belym's words, Roshan looks to Conwall. "I guess we'll see whose arms are most effective against hell's nobility..."

Ron turns sternly on the grumbling troops. Form up. I had to prove my second's loyalty. I am satisfied. Step forward if ye believe me a cultist. Else, prepare to March.

I have difficulty posting today so move on without me. Here is my roll to make Tom and Conwall invis with Larune's help.

Cast Invis (increased effect): 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 = 9

That's an 8. Forget spell.

The lot of you go down the Marshway, a moderately fast moving company. the Marshway becomes more disheveled as you get closer. the boards worn down, and more and more of the protective rune's scratched out. you see some winged beasts circling you high above, and the marsh is incapable of supporting any bird of that size.

Roshan and Conwall, you both note several demonic sigils and runes carved into the dead trees, most simply profane, but some you recognize as symbols of a demon prince (Spout lore to know which one). What do you do?

Ron & Tom, you both notice several signs of skirmishes between demons and the native undead. re-killed ghouls, and bits of bloody brass armour litter the shallows of the ghostmoor, and there are signs of conflict (damaged sections of the marshway, spilt blood) in the deeper sections. What do you do?

Belym, The feeling of constriction only gets stronger as you approach the hellmouth. and a female voice, harsh and commanding, echoes inside yur head. Do you wonder what the dwarves at the mine are doing? How they are faring in my realm? or had you forgotten your kin, the kin you failed to die for?. What do you do?

Female Dwarf Channeler 8 (23/28 hp, 1 armor, d4 damage, 2/15 xp) (Str -1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +2, Wis +1, Cha +0)

I did my duty by them! Belym thinks furiously at the voice in her head. Any chance I recognize it, possibly from my initial vision at the altar? And whatever you are, your kind has no claim over my people. If you have taken them, I will free them. At a bend in the path, Belym's inward focus causes her to march right into one of the militiamen.

Roshan stays near the flank of the war band with her followers. Felix asked, so she's reading off the demonic carvings they see along the road. You can see here the word for leather is literally whip-skin. That one just reads "no through traffic" I'm not sure what they mean by that. Now this one..."

Ron studies the signs of battle with a veteran eye. Tighten up ranks!

Something had been bothering the old battlemaster for a while, and he just now put his finger on it. Brass. Why brass? It's resistant to rust, certainly, but it's weaker than iron. Why build walls of this? Are there arcane applications?

Well, aside from being plentiful in hell, for reasons even he greatest scholars have yet to understand, Brass is a metal that accepts and sustains enchantment exceptionally well. the wall is likely to br comprised of equal parts brass and magic.

Conwall

While you hear no overtly cultish talk, you hear a few men (You can't quite tell who. the helmets muffle everything, and all human voices sound pretty much the same anyway) talk about leaving, bemoaning being commanded by madmen and foreigners, and otherwise dislikeing their lot in this mission.

I'm taking "easily reached" as a glorious lifeline!

Ye heard him! Break for the tree line double time! Archers form at the treeline! Withdraw behind shields after two volleys! These beasts will devour your children if we do not stand! For Ghostmoor!

Ron, Beldroth, Merrick, and Larune charge for the treeline and set up in the formation Ron described. Ron and Larune are at the treeline with ranged weapons drawn. Beldroth and Merrick stand ten paces behind with shields ready.

Form on me!

Any rolls for this? Oh also, I was going to ask if I could convince you that Larune should get +1 loyalty from the way the loyalty test played out.

Ron raises his spear arm and waits for the first demon to enter range. I will call targets Larune. Strike true and we'll survive this. Beldroth, watch for traitors among the ranks.

Ye are a fool Einora to face me without yer full strength.

The men form up,inexpertly, and the archers loose a pair of volleys. none find their marks, but the demons hang back somewhat longer than they would have.

"When an enemy first enters consecrated ground, they take damage equal to your level." doesn't say it ignores armor, no. It's just a free riposte per enemy.

The demons land on the Marshway, maces, blades, and axes readied. they number a dozen, not including their commander, a fair, chiseled man with white-plumed wings, wielding a spear of purple glass. This ends now, Heretics. he declares, in a beautiful, tenor voice.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Ghostmoor militia places a dagger at ron's back, as his face morphs into a strange, elf-ish face, and his body shrinks slightly Come now, James, you had to know this was coming.. as Seirzact makes his move, a dozen of the guardsmen draw daggers, and turn them on their fellows.

If I'm able to take a move again...

I give a wink to Tom and using the spear as a spring board I flip back to perform the killing blow
2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13
I give him no angle to strike me back
1d10 + 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + (4) + 1 = 9

I wish I'd thought of this earlier, but I want to do a slight narrative revision on how Remorse learns spells. I wish I had gone with my gut choice to take fireball as my last spell, and mimic for next level but, I think Remorse glows bright blue when slaying a magical creature, absorbing some element of it that opens a new ability. So invisibility came from the eye stalk demon, mimic from Seirxacht and fireball (will come) from the vessel demon. Charm came from touching the altar, taking a sliver of Kelos ability to dominate his followers.

Remorse glows brightly as Sierxacht dissipates and Ron realizes how simple the trickster's trick really is.

Thank you for this gift, my lady.

True to their training, Ron, Beldroth, Merrick, and Larune form a triangle, with Merrick to Ron's spearside (right), and Beldroth to the shield side. Larune stands in the middle, firing at nearby cultists.

Ron and Beldroth lash out at the two nearby cultists, while Merrick watches for counter attacks.

Reckless H&S: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 2) + 2 = 9

Spend my gambit from Conwall to make that a 10.

Damage (Pierce 4) : 1d8 + 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (8) + (4) + 4 = 16 Still a bit confused on how RAW against multiple H&S targets works. Would this hit both?

Woooooo, max damage!
