I ran a DW game where our Druid kept summoning nature spirits and then not choosing to retain control. So they'd run amok, trashing things after they left. He was real ticked off when they returned to shore after a battle on the beach and then a battle in-land only to discover the wind elemental and the earth elemental had worked together to sink their ship

Yep, that's what the move says :p. There's an advanced move to reabsorb an elemental, but you have to still have control and you take damage on a 7-9. (An additional 6+ advanced move lets you gain hp on a 10+ when you do.).


weirdly, when i quote you guys, sometimes, it rerolls your dice. the ones in your posts are the correct ones, I'm sorry for any confusion.

Scath, sorry for bringing us into melee. I was hoping collapsing the barricade would deal some nice AoE and/or bury some victims in rubble. Didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.

Hey guys. School is wrapping up, but I've been extra busy, and I'm going to be for a few weeks. It sucks, but I think I'm going to have to take a break or something, since it's getting harder to post frequently, and if I can't post frequently I miss out on a bunch. I've really enjoyed playing with you guys, and hopefully I can return, in a couple weeks.

Actually thinking about taking druid's balance, reskinning as inspiring presence to add some more healing, but Fulcrum would be so damn fun.

Also, interesting passage from the H&S entry on the Dungeon World SRD:

"If the action that triggers the move could reasonably hurt multiple targets roll once and apply damage to each target (they each get their armor)."

Anyone know if that is in the most recent version of the core book? I only have an older version.

1. If you are looking for healing moves, I would let you reskin the Lantern's "Healing Light" into battlefield medicine (it's already INT based)

I just discovered it myself. Also still learning. I don't think a spear fictionally lends itself to AOE, but maybe for Conwall.

It's a space opera hack of Dungeon World, like Firefly mixed with the Hobbit.

Thank you, but it's really no trouble, for the most part I've got nothing beter to do, now school's out.

Thanks for the offer. I've played before (actually, I've had it run for me by Vincent baker's kid) but i'd consider it. are you using adventures on dungeon planet?

It's a mish mash of dungeon planet, normal dungeon world, and uncharted worlds. I've been very lenient with available playbooks, including allowing class warfare.

Current players are Ranger, Vampire, Ogre, Technician, and Engine of Destruction.

And scene+ end of session feels right; plus I'm pretty sure at least 3 of us will be leveling up :-) Picking a move is going to be tough - I've got 4 things I would love to have right now.

Bender of the Elements, Signature Technique, Teleport, and Dual Conduits all seem useful, flavorful, and cool. Thread the Needle and My Body is Ready also both look nice, and I could see picking those up if we reach high level play.

can I just say how glad I am that this thing is rolling low. I didn't realize how deadly this thing could be. fortunately, you guys are like seriously dishing out damage (almost anything else would be dead)

FYI, if the dice roller says anything went awry, I drafted and previewed a post, but didn't get to submit it until Ron and Conwall rendered it moot. The missing post had a 7-9 on Command Elemental.

He is a demon summoning cultist, so not much in the way of sympathy from Ron.

Wait a second ... When he said "drop your weapons" did he mean "lower your weapons"?

I read it as: let's all put our weapons on the floor so I can start casting again.

If he just wanted me to lower the spear, well I missed that and wouldn't have killed him.

also, Scath, I kinda forgot to wait for you, sorry.

here's the move people!

When you reach the end of a session, choose one of your bonds
that you feel is resolved (completely explored, no longer relevant,
or otherwise). Ask the player of the character you have the bond
with if they agree. If they do, mark XP and write a new bond with
whomever you wish.
Once bonds have been updated look at your alignment. If you
fulfilled that alignment at least once this session, mark XP. Then
answer these three questions as a group:
• Did we learn something new and important about the world?
• Did we overcome a notable monster or enemy?
• Did we loot a memorable treasure?
For each “yes” answer everyone marks XP.

Mark xp, and drop it, it doesn't count as your one bond if you want to end another (and next time a player drops out {god forbid}, you are free to do that whenever)

Okay, then:
Bond with Rigwald is resolved, keeping Thaddeus's around if he's returning.
Alignment:
Use your Conduit to help someone at cost to your body. My feeling on this one is not really - neither time I used my buddy as a dam really meet this, and I got away with no other real consequences.

Something new and important: The Cult of Kalos' activity would seem to qualify.
Notable Monster: the Hand of Kalos and the Barbed Devil
Memorable Treasure: how often do you loot not just a fort's content, but the fort itself?

So, 4 XP for Belym.

I'd like to write a new bond with Ron:
Ron's anger in combat is terrifying to behold.

Resolving bond with Belym, I don't need to protect her, she is obviously capable enough that she will probably be the one protecting me. +1

New Bond: Conwall's fighting style is too flamboyant and reckless. I will teach him discipline in battle.

Alignment: Endanger yourself to make plan succeed. I say yes. Several times I took hits meant for others. +1

Learning: existence of cultists, presumable army location, connection between cultists and Braxos. +1

Overcome Notable Monster: Conwall's pride. +1 (actually the demon boss)

Loot memorable treasure: A memorable amount of gold, plus that ruby. +1

So +5 and I get gambits from Conwall instead of Belym now.

Puts me at 1.15, which becomes 2.7.

Alignment: defend someone weaker than me: can't say I did. Mostly I was getting defended on
+3 from the end of session moves puts me at 5 exp total!

Once I get some downtime with Belym and Scath I can pop off those bonds.
