I was on about having bonds, rather than resolving them, but ah well.

When does normal play resume?

Presumably when everyone else gets their EoS stuff done? I see new bonds on Shy's profile, just wish they'd mentioned. We're waiting on Kara, Ammy, and Reno too I believe. Though Reno really doesn't have much to do, in this case.

I just wanna know what's happening with Cuddles. I made the alias on a whim, statted it up as a character even, but until things get moving again we won't know how the situation's going to turn out. Not unless I get a PM or there's posts about it or something.

All I can really say is we've all come to terms with the 3 questions answered yes. The armor is the memorable loot, was the overcome threat and was valuable new information. Though on that last one I'd say Sora having a sibling is surprising.
Therefore I'd like to make a bond with Ysolde: "Ysolde is Sora's sister, but can she be trusted, or is she like the evil twin?!"
"I thought Nox was loyal, but he (?) never showed up." +1 xp
"I seem to have something in common with Shyness, we've never experienced carnality, we could be chastity sisters?"
"Kara is as reliable in battle as she is outside, she's the best!" +1 xp
" Nathan seems to be quite the asshat, but he wears it with pride."
And last, but certainly not least:

Everyone rests the night, with the secret room closed. The next morning Cuddles is moving slightly, and the destroyed breastplate has repaired it self about 30% of the way. He seems to be healing. As everyone is finally awake he stands and offers the sword out hilt first to whomever wishes to take it

What do you do?

Shyness claps her hands and squeals in glee. She accepts the hilt, and the point of the sword quickly falls to the ground. Under the awkward weight, Shyness sways for a moment, before landing on her bottom. Embarrassed, she looks around for some help.

Anares floats immediately over to the golem, and, assuming she allows it, falls asleep (Turning silver-blue as opposed to his usual vibrant gold) on her shoulder or in her lap. He likes you She says to the Flame-wreathed woman And Sora tells me you were protecting her in... that place. Thank you for that

After she is done, her brain still reeling with a mixture of disgust and envy, particularly at the detailed drawings of the Orc stroking her wings. Ammaranth? Did a lot of people feel this way about my sister? does she inspire this sort of desire in people?

after that conversation, she will decide to learn about her sisters protector. What are you? I've never met a person as remarkable as you before.

and, back in the present, she will immediately rush over to help poor Shy up. Anything special about that gesture, do you think?

After the sword is gone the armor sits, basically in a meditative pose, blue light spilling from the hole in the chest

"Thank you," Shyness says as she blows hair out of her eye. "I think it might be its way of way of asking for orders. Or maybe a new master? I should consult my books, but from what I remember..."

Apparently, this subject really intrigued her. =)

"Woah, hey." Nathan kneels and closes his hand over Shy's, helping her lift the heavy blade. "Bit heavier than you thought? Just, ah, mind the blade. It's not a good sword to practice with."

"Umm, yeah. Not that I would want to. Practice with it. Or any sword, I don't think. They're heavy, and a bit pointy," Shy rambles nervously.

"Awful stark world to go without a blade. Even just one for defending yourself." Nathan flips his combat knife out of his belt and rolls it across his fingers. "It's not a shield, mind, but it'll keep you and yours safe from the unforseeable." He offers the knife hilt first. "Unless you've got claws of a different sort altogether..."

Sora sits, watching Cuddles for the moment. The suit of armour had attacked her not long ago. Now, it was positively peaceful. Perhaps there was something to what the Whipmaster had intended to do here? It was...intelligent. Perhaps there was a way to communicate?

Sora looks through a crate for cartography supplies, or something she could write with in general. It didn't seem they could speak, but perhaps they could read and write?

It's a bit complicated. I can't read it you see, books burn in my hands. I was made with the capacity to read, a fondness for if even, but then left with no good means to do so.

That would be because I'm not exactly a person. I was shaped to look like one, created to act like one. My creator wanted me to be made of magma though. If I had bren magma I would help dig faster. I think it went wrong when meanings were mixed up, he wanted me to look hot and naked, but no one would be able to touch me. Would agonise the slaves, he thought. Bit like Sora until recently, except she can at least choose to let someone touch her. Oh and she was the one who gave me this lovely name, my creator never even bothered.

Himnon packs some rations from the crate.

"Does anyone want a stick? I can't carry it anymore. Sora, you might at least want to take back your feathers."

A big stick with some bloody feathers stuck to it (Two handed, Close, Clumsy, +1 damage, 2 weight, really just a support beam, good for sitting on)

He comes back to watch the armor to see what happens with it.

Shyness flips though her books, referencing this passage then counter referencing other passages, she soon comes to a very simple conclusion. It is resting as it heals, that and by replacing the gems, you have basically rebooted it. A trained gemhearter could give it standing orders at this point, but not actually doing that will, basically, allow it to have free will.

Shyness declines Nathan's offer of a knife."Oh, um, no thanks, not necessary. I have this." Shy proudly holds up her nondescript broom.

With her nose buried in a book, Shyness mutters, "It seems that she needs to rest for now, to heal." She closes the book with an audible whump. "After all, you gave her quite the smashing," she says in a most disapproving and accusatory tone.

If only I knew more. But maybe I can study her. Not here, of course. The lighting is terrible. Even with Ysolde and Amaranth here. Poor Amaranth, unable to hold a book. How terrible that must be.

Huh. I was expecting more to happen. Probably shouldn't have worried about it. Do I find suitable writing material? If so:

Sora finds what she's looking for, and slides Cuddles a quick question, with the means and room for reply. "Can you understand this?" The question is left in front of the meditating suit of armour as Sora backs away quickly.

Himnon is met with a sigh. "Trust me, I tried. They're stuck fast. It's just a stick, and there are real weapons here - feel like burning it, Ammy?"

Shyness, in contrast, is met with interest. This thing is mysterious as it is, and she seems to know about it. Perhaps with her help, Cuddles could walk with her...like the Whipmaster intended. "She, Shy? It has a gender?" She guessed it was possible, but what gale brought her that info? "Anyway, not that important. Any way we can speed this up? And maaaybe ensure that it's not immediately going to attack us once it's done?"

"Well, I assume. As I understand, men don't usually have these." Shyness quite indelicately points out the protrusions on the armor's chest. "At least, so the books say."

I couldn't resist.

So guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the bridge to the outside is broken. that won't be a problem for Shy adn Sora, or nate probably, but those two don't have wings or brooms or weird climging ability, and my wings are ornamental Ysolde pipes up, aware of the possible time crunch, and also wanting to feel the sun on her skin again. I wish I could tan she thinks Then again, I would probably just burn.

Those DEFINITELY weren't there before. Must be part of the repair process. Either those had been gotten rid of before, or...molded there by itself? Is it shaping itself and identity? She still wants to know about speeding healing and making sure she isn't killed, but Ys brings up something else quite concerning.

"Dammit, Ys. That's bad. Between us we could probably get everyone over, but Ammy needs something to burn...hey, wait!" Sora turns to Ammy. "Think we could use the stick to keep you going in the air? Maybe some other stuff from here?"

Never done it before, but I suppose it's worth a try. I have no idea how much we'd need, though something that burns slow would go a long way. Amaranth says after thinking on it for about 5-10 seconds.

"I think I can try to get those of you who can't fly or climb across the bridge... if you're prepared for just a small chance of something going horribly wrong."

when you are ready to move on just make it clear that you are reopening the room and moving out, then let me know which direction you go. Toward the bridge? Back through the killing out room? Some other plan?

Hey, so I hate to ask, but I'm over 200 posts behind. Could I get a quick recap that would fit in a Tweet so I know where we are and what happened? Thanks in advance for anyone that could help me out. Normally I'd read each one, but I'm also trying to get caught up on other campaigns today as well. :)

For new players, hi! I'm Reno Jackson, half-elf paladin. I was formerly employed by Drazhu as his diplomat/emissary - basically playing the role of this guy from 300, minus the part where I get kicked into a pit. Actually, NOT minus that part, that actually did happen to me - only it was my employer, not my enemy, who kicked me. Drazhu took issue with my sudden attack of conscience after I discovered his penchant for necromancy.

Apart from that I haven't really done much, so my character is still fairly new. I have a prior relationship with Kara Silvertongue but not anyone else that I'm aware of.

Don't think I can manage tweet-size, personally, but I'll try and be brief.

We kicked the ass of the Whipmaster and his entourage. Looting is done, and Sora ends up issuing Nathan death threats after he comes twirling out in a cloak made of her feathers, apparently the Whipmaster's. Feathers are a really big deal for Skyfolk. A drawer in the Whipmaster's room is forced open, with one of Himnon's things, the Whipmaster's journal full of lovey-dovey crap towards Sora that led her to vomiting, and a switch for a secret passage. There, we find Cuddles the Murder Armour in a "Do not cross" circle - Sora tries to take his sword from afar, botches, gets hurt and nearly loses a wing for it. Ysolde and Shyness burst on the scene, Cuddles is taken out but not destroyed due to OOC pleading and Kara's intervention, and Ys is revealed as Sora's stunted-winged sister. Cue discovery that Cuddles is a rare example of a lost art. Cuddles is fixed, we have a nap, and Cuddles is currently rebooting and repairing.

If you want more detail, just check the recent stuff. Also, we did an EoS - the three questions have been Yes'd, so that's 3XP, plus any alignment or bond stuff. Feel free to add or resolve bonds based on observations if you go back through the posts.

Can we make Cuddles a team mascot? That sounds good. I'd like that. He She has free will (since we don't know how to make her not have it post reboot), she can totally play along. I'm up for another party member. Or they can just vanish until Sora gets done in and I need a new PC.

After a few hours of pushing bricks and tugging sconces, Nathan returns to the group somewhat less jauntily than usual. "So, if the bridge is out, should we try for that passage on the other side?"

Shyness is having a friendly, animated, and decidedly one-sided conversation with the armor. She finally looks up, and in an exasperated tone, exclaims, "We have this." And she holds up her broom as if that explains everything.

Reno shakes himself out of the wordless torpor he had been sitting in. "How's a broom going to help us?"

Because, my dear elf, Shy is no ordinary woman. in her hands, an ordinary broom becomes an extraordinary means of transport. Right Shy! Ysolde says, shaking Shy's shoulder gently. By the way, my name is Ysolde, renegade saint of Alphine. who are you?

Reno's eyes widen a little at the self-given appellation of "saint," but doesn't comment on that. He's in no position to be rude, even if he had the inclination.

"I'm Reno. I used to work for Drazhu, until he revealed his true colors. If this broom can get us out of here, I'm willing to give it a shot. I certainly don't have any better ideas. I'm afraid I haven't been much use to us so far." As he admits this, his demeanor hardens, his backbone stiffens up a little bit, and he holds himself up straighter. "But that won't be the case any longer. I'm ready to throw myself into this escape attempt wholeheartedly. What can I do?"

"Of course, Ys. Though I don't know how extraordinary it is. Everyone I knew before you could do it. But obviously, we need to wait for her to be ready." Shyness indicates the armor. "I'll never learn more about gemhearting without her. Oh, and, nice to meet you. That's what I'm supposed to say, right, Ys?"

Reno, you can resolve the bonds with Elena and Nox. They've kinda dropped out.

Shyness was proving interesting to be around. Sora was already quite fond of her. Ys had good taste. But it was plain she wasn't quite equipped for handling people well. Guess that'll come later. "It's not a common thing for people to get around on a broom, Shy. Then again, this isn't exactly a 'common' group in general, so it should work out. But, umm...if we're going to wait for 'her' to recover, then I really want to know how long that will take. You're the expert here."

Sora starts flicking through the journal again. Perhaps the Whipmaster had some useful info relating to Cuddles in here. She looks in depth for info, trying not to linger on the poetry as it comes by. How could she be repaired? Communicated with? Disinclined from immediately murdering us?

Yes shy, that's how normal peole interact. by the way, has Sora spoken to you yet about... intimate interactions? Ysolde says, blushing intensly, but not wanting to leave her friend ignorant of the facts of life (particularly if Sora was correct about Nathan)

Nathan chimes in from behind Ysolde. "You see, some folks put a lot of stock into who you have fun with, and how you choose to have fun behind closed doors... or open doors... or in public-"

"No. She wants to have intimate interactions with me? What does that mean?" As Nathan chimes in, Shyness only seems more confused. "I have fun with Ysolde. Why would others care about that?"

Well, she wasn't having this. Sora closes up the journal, and boots Nathan away from her sister. "Nathan. Didn't anyone tell you it was rude to listen in on private conversations? There's only one thing you home in on that easily. Just because it's practically the only thing on your mind, doesn't mean you get to go ahead and say things like that whenever you like. Damn pervert."

Sora turns to Ysolde and Shyness, looking exasperated and ashamed. This was the last thing either of them needed to hear, for differing reasons. "Sorry about that. I'd be careful about what you talk about around him...I meant what I said before. If there's the slightest hint, he'll go for it without a second thought." Sora crosses her arms and shakes her head. "And Shy? He means naughty fun. Think Succubi and their kind." Her arms unfold and she walks over to Nathan.

"Hey. Listen up. I believe you should see what the problem is with Shy already, but as for my sister? Kinda got whisked off by the local bastard Church of Alphine when she was very young. She was raised there. So she's not exactly familiar with any of the stuff you like to go on about. Not even been in a relationship to my knowledge. And that means you could hurt her quite easily the way you do things. So. As much as I hate to say it, I can't stop you two doing anything. But if you hurt my sister, in any way? There's going to be hell to pay. If you have to bother her, then treat her right. I hope you understand." The look on Sora's face is like the one she wore when he came out in the cloak. But somehow, it's even more severe.

Sora goes back to where she was, and returns to flicking through the journal for info.

"Well, see, some people are real uptight about what kinds of fun you can have, where you can have it and with whom."

After the armor was defeated, Kara's face becomes immensely focused, and she spends an inordinate amount of time shifting through the three crates, taking things out, gazing at them with a professional's eyes, either putting it back or shifting it to another pile. She pours all of her energy into it and has little attention for the talk spinning on around her.

Eventually she settles a full arsenal about her curvy form. She seems to have picked up a bow and a quiver from the crate of weapons, a double portion of rations from the crate of food, and a moldy rucksack of adventuring gear from the crate of...adventuring gear.

"So," she says, with the air of a mom returning from a shopping trip. "You guys ready to go or just wanna stay here and talk about stripping down an' doin' the nasty all day?"

...

"What?"

At Kara's suggestion, Himnon agrees. "I think we should go towards the bridge, what with magic and the broom. Do you all think so?"

I think so. last time I rode with Shy was really fun, until the eagle... she says, nudging Shyness in remembrance of the incident And Shy, Sora and I are going to have a little conversation with you, about... certain things. Until then, just ignre Nathan when he's coming on to you

Reno nods, glad to move on from this subject of conversation. It never ended well whenever the topic was explored too deeply in mixed company. "Come on, then," he says, heading off toward the bridge and beckoning over his shoulder."[/b]

Kara and Nathan's implications fly right over Shyness' head. But her attention is distracted by Ysolde. "Oh, yes, the eagle. I still say that she was likely protecting her territory, and not personally offended by your wings. Though she did not give up the chase easily."
