Xeram |
I know it's the weekend, but given posts by 2 daring adventurers, i'll assume everyone moves 10ft behind Charis & Carlaya, like with a while ago.
Charis doesn't spot anything suspicious at first, but when she and Carlaya step down from the stairs into the small room, they see the room for what it truly is.
Nothing looks out of the ordinary to you.
The interior is overrun with a layer of biomass, like blood veins exposed.
Several holes produce tiny larva-like creatures, colored a sickly pale green, with pitch-black eyes and two front appendages. About 10 of the things crawl around, not taking any action other than crawling.
Two carvings of humanoids with hideous visages stand against the wall leading to the hallway ahead.
Carlaya & Charis, roll me a sense motive please in this room.
The Maiden of Jewels |
I'd better watch my footing in here. This must be the fruits of that wacky nurse's labor.

I hereby apologize for this enemy. I've seen my share of sci-fi.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
To Carlaya, a nearby larva looked like any other in the room.
To Charis, it seemed smarter than the others, as if to be observing them for something.

Some vision draws Charis to one of the larvae. She stares at it before cracking her whip at it.
Scorpion Whip +1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

"It's staring at me. It's not as dumb as it pretends to be!"
Xeram |
The whip hits the larva, and it shrieks.
To the others, save Carlaya, the room still seems perfectly normal.
1 Carlaya, 2 Charis: 1d2 ⇒ 2
The larva 5ft's into Charis' square.
AoO Charis: 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
This time she misses, and it opens its tiny maw, like a piranha does on a prey.

The darned little thing hits.
CMB for special ick tactic?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 Succeeds.
The larva quickly scales her leg, and lunges itself into- and down, her throat, causing her to cough after the ordeal.

Renee and Tae are confused what this is all about, worms, a generic room.
Renee steps up to Charis and casts guidance on her.
I have no track of Tae's spells reserve used for the day, so i'll pass on it.

Charis feels a discomforting ache in her torso.
