What was the save dc?
Renee le Rapide |
"If they want to stay there, let them stay there."
Renee starts shooting Red, mostly because he happens to be the closest.

Old Grog |
From what i understand, you'd only need to roll for it when interacting with an illusion. You could otherwise be staring at a pretty set of bricks. ^^
Not had time to research this till now, but as far as I can tell that's not quite right because:
If any viewer successfully disbelieves an illusion and communicates this fact to others, each such viewer gains a saving throw with a +4 bonus.
Xeram |
One of Renee's arrows hits red for 14.
-----------------
Cultists
Blue finishes chanting, and a big eye with a mouth, attached to a dangling spinal cord, appears before Carlaya and Renee. Grog is within range, and swings his hammer at it.
Hammer, negative lvl: 1d20 + 15 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 15 - 1 = 32 Dmg: 2d6 + 11 ⇒ (5, 2) + 11 = 18
It's an instant gore fest, as his hammer causes it to explode, dousing Carlaya, Charis & Renee in blood.
Blue steps 5ft closer, and pointing his finger, casts a spell at Ed Earl.
Rt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Nl if hits: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 5) = 16
Ed Earl feels some force of impact hitting him.
Cyan casts a spell on red
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 7) + 3 = 13
Green (-7) steps back, and casts.
A dark fume enshrouds the group.
Obscuring mist
Red (-1) comes up to Ed Earl, and makes a swipe at him.
Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 Dmg, SMITE, SA: 1d6 + 2 + 2d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (6, 1) + (2, 2) = 15
An utter miss, to boot.

Charis, Ed Earl & Old Grog

Stepping back, Grog smashes his hammer down like a machine!

Dana the Doppelgänger |
"Ugh! They're coming from the wall!" Ed grunts as the black ray saps some of his life force.
"Good job, Grog!" Ed smiles as gore flies back and forth. "It's good to see you again, back in fighting form."
"I can't see a thing through that fog." He readies his blade. "But they have to come out of there..."
He takes a step back and readies a single swing against the first foe to get in range.
+1 greatsword, Negative Level, Power Attack, Vital Strike: 1d20 + 14 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 14 - 1 - 2 = 18
Damage: 4d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 6) + 14 = 30
The Maiden of Jewels |
"Let me flush them out of there." Charis peeks around the corner and then causes the entire back room to burst into flame! "Either they burn to ash or they come out and fight."
She's actually casting minor image. Will DC 15 to disbelieve.
Tae |
Tae just stands there dumbfounded as things are passing through the wall in both directions... and blood comes spraying from it... yet it still appears quite solid to him.
The Maiden of Jewels |
OK. If I can't see it, then...
The Maiden casts Good Hope on the party. "May Abbadar guide your senses."
Old Grog |
"Ack blood all over, I need a drink! announced Grog, "What?! There's more? Curses!"
Tae |
does the wall go all the way to the ceiling? if not, Tae will cast fly and fly over it... if it does... I'm at a loss, sigh
Tae |
Tae's been told the wall is an illusion, but it still looks real to him... he walks up and touches it... runs his hands over it... closes his eyes and tries to reach through it.
in the hopes that some physical contact might garner a new saving throw maybe? if so, here's my roll, if not, ignore the roll.
will save: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 4 = 22
edit: added the +4 for being told it's an illusion
Old Grog |
You should get +4 on that roll to disbelieve because you've been told it's an illusion.
Carlaya |
Will save redux, Good hope: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) - 1 + 2 = 18
Carlaya still isn't quite sure what's going on, and simply mimics Tae's actions. "Der...... Why are you touching this wal-- OOH!"
Renee le Rapide |
"Merde... Can anyone make this stupid mist go away?"
Delay until Renee sees an enemy
Xeram |
Cultists, round 3
Carlaya is still baffled by the wall, yet Tae has gone to check it out.
Renee holds.
---------------
Cultists
Blue casts, and like before, a dark mist spews forth, Grog and Ed Earl now find themselves in the mist too.
He then steps 5ft closer to Tae.
Cyan and Green close distance with Tae....
Feint: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Feint: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
---------------
Charis, Ed Earl, Old Grog & Renee
Old Grog |
"I cannae see nothin'!" fumes Grog. He steps out of the fog and yells, "Back up, give a Dwarf some room eh!?"
I guess mechanically Grog will ready an action to smash the first enemy that comes into range. We should probably just retreat and make them come to us or wait for the cloud to dissipate whichever comes first.
The Maiden of Jewels |
"Well, if they're gonna take their sweet time, I'm gonna heal myself."
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
One more zap from the wand. She already can see its cracks forming... 3 charges left!
Tae |
Tae dutifully backs up... still only seeing a wall...double move
Xeram |
When Tae moves away, three swords are slashing at him.
Blue: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Cyan: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Green: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Tae is slashed for a minor injury, and emerges from the smoke, much to his companions' relief.

Carlaya's arrow goes from left to right, then back, then left to right again....

Cultists
Blue advances, meeting Ed Earl.
Ed's sword, PA, VS: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 4d6 + 14 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 6) + 14 = 30
The cultists is forced to make a step back, as Ed's big sword swings down towards him.
Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
His own aim is even worse, and Ed raises a brow at the evil's lousy aim.
Cyan follows.
Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 1d100 ⇒ 48
Cyan manages to scrape Ed for a minimal wound.
Ed: "Oh, think you're grand, eh? Landing a hit? Your head's soon going to roll."
Green appears before Grog. Carlaya's shot flies, but it disappears into the mist, missing the cultist.
Renee, have your shot. 20% miss chance.
If he'd stand, he repeats his compatriots actions.
Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 1d100 ⇒ 3
But...the cultist misses Grog.

Charis, Ed Earl, Old Grog & Renee
Old Grog |
Grog was ready for the cultists and mad as hell. When they approached through the murk of the clouds, Grog set about the cultists with wild abandon. His hammer smashing like a wrecking ball.
Readied action, Rage, Power Attack, Negative Level: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 15 + 2 - 2 = 32Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 44Damage: 2d6 + 1 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 + 6 + 6 = 25

Dana the Doppelgänger |
Don't forget Charis cast Good Hope a few rounds ago. That's a +2 to attack and damage!
Ed grins and swings at the blue-robed cultist with glee.
+1 greatsword, Negative Level, Power Attack, Vital Strike, Good Hope: 1d20 + 14 - 1 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 14 - 1 - 2 + 2 = 22

Concealment, less than 20 is a miss: 1d100 ⇒ 10
"Blast this mist!" He grunts.
The Maiden of Jewels |
Unable to get a good shot, The Maiden uses the wand to heal herself yet again.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Xeram |
Grog's 1st 2 attacks would have been devastating, were it not for the smoke concealing anything beyond 5ft.
When green is actually close enough, he makes a swing, as he steps back.
His attack smacks the cultist brutally, and he goes down!
I've worked with a sledgehammer to demolish ceilings, doors and walls, on several occassions during the last few weeks, and i know the impact a hammer can have on objects with enough momentum. :P
Ed's having a little less luck there.
Renee
Renee le Rapide |
From the map it looks like the enemies are still in the cloud, unseen be Renee? I'll switch to ready, then.
Seeing some faint movement inside the cloud, Renee takes aim at the moving figures. As soon as he can see the outline of an enemy, he will release the arrow.

Carlaya |
Carlaya preps another shot for whatever might step through the fog. "This is taking way too long. Come on, guys, get out of that fog!"

As the artillery lines up outside the fog, the remaining duo attack Ed Earl, unaware of their own risk of advancing.
Both cultists set off a vibe of chaotic energies.

Ripples of energy wash over the party, save for Carlaya, who's out of blast radius.
Charis takes 15, Ed Earl takes 9, Grog takes 15, Renee takes 9, Tae takes 19.
The cultist chuckle, and Cyan steps south, with intent of flanking Ed later. Doing so, he sets off the firing squad.
Hit % Renee: 1d100 ⇒ 8 Sorry. :(
Hit % Carlaya: 1d100 ⇒ 90
Though Renee's shot went off the mark, a finely aimed Arrow from Carlaya and the magic missiles from Tae make quick work of Cyan.

Tae moves back and readies another magic missile shot if a target makes itself visible by coming out of the fog.
mm dmg: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1) + 4 = 8
OMG that's sad
Dana the Doppelgänger |
Ed feels the negative energy flow through him. "And here I was hoping for a simple sword duel..."
