Having wounded the officer Kiltem usually prefers to keep on the attack till his enemy is dead, however the pink bandanna wearing sailor gets in his face with a cutlass. This pisses the big druid off. A looping upward swing of his empowered club whistles up toward the sailor's face.

Lucky's shot might have hit an unsuspecting sailor, but these officers are no novices to naval warfare. The bolt misses by a hand's breadth.

In the mist, the dance with Ko continues, though the enemy pirate's fortune continues to ebb Mist Miss: 1d100 ⇒ 11 as the mist gets the better of him.

The slippery and greased pirates both try to stand. Despite the danger and wounds, they still fight back:

The pirate near Kiltem tries to get a better angle and stab the man low on his 8 line. Red v. Art: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 missing.

The stuck officer does the same, though he knows the odds of a hit are low: ATK: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 - 2 - 4 = 16 for a hit of DMG: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 He shouts at the hit as he sees the druid is in trouble!

Lucky adjusts his attacks slightly, aiming for the pirate's current location as opposed to his previous location laying down in the grease spot...

Short sword: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 + 1 = 24 for 1d6 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 + 1 = 3 damage, and 1d6 ⇒ 2 precision damage.

Lucky's stab is much better aimed this time out, and the pirate cries out in pain, at the last of his strength, and devoid of allies.

Seeing Kiltem struck, Ko leaped from the mist and charged heedless towards the hapless officer. Tendrils of mist trailed behind him. Blood dripped from his blade. His eyes rolled An enraged roar erupted from his mouth. He would not be stopped.

Roll:

I’ll brave the AoO to charge the officer. I don’t know if hopping down off the deck counts at difficult terrain, but, if it does, I will use my Nimble Moves to move through that terrain without trouble.

Tired of the combat, the blood, the limbs, the futility, Ko charges the remaining officer. AoO: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 2 = 6. The Bekyar smashes the pike aside and cuts a swath through the man's belly. He cries in anger, ignoring for now the entrails exposed to smoke and hate. He fights on, hoping to take you bastards with him!

Round Twelve

As Kiltem's blood flows from the devastating pike stab, his fury is turned up even higher. An unintelligible animalistic scream errupts from his throat as he moves to crush the life from the Yellow Officer. His shield moves side to side as he bounds forward trying to evade the AoO.

With a final swing of the druid weapon, Kiltem drops the officer! The remaining pirate opts for sharks over the combined might of the party and the utter inhumanity of Captain Harrigan.

The battle is won! The Man's Promise is taken!

For victory in the fight of your lives to take the ship, the party earns 3,600 XP. (To make matters simple, I'll no longer divide XP.)

The battle ends with the pirates victorious! The fog dissipates, and a line of prisoners from the Man’s Promise is paraded before Captain Harrigan and the cheering crew of the Wormwood.

Aboard the Wormwood, a party begins as the pirates celebrate their victory with fine food and drink from the Man’s Promise’s hold. Captain Harrigan holds a meeting with his top officers and divvies up the plunder from the Man’s Promise among the crew in the early evening. Bolstered by gold and good drink, the party lasts for 36 hours, well into the next night. Naturally, no work takes place during the party!

Eventually it's your turn to receive your booty, and the Captain himself hands it to you. You can't help but picture him throwing 7/8ths of a human heart at a man with the force of a slingstone...

You are EACH given 150 Gp with a bonus for clearing the aft deck. The bonus is another 100 Gold coins EACH. The party as a whole is given 3 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds for the effort.

The captain also holds aloft an amulet in the shape an elephant's head! He holds it aloft and moves to give it to Lucky, but then slaps him with it instead. "Bold move hoping that pirate could stick me!" He then hands the amulet to Mr. Plugg instead. Plugg makes a kissing face at Lucky.

"Still you're a ruthless lot." He hands the party a single back of 225 coins of gold.

did Plugg participate in the battle? Curious...

Ooc- Lucky didn't see the Cap'n... he failed his perception check.

It's okay, the results are the same since no one made note.

You're all HEART, Cap'n

So, 3 questions.
1) did Plugg actually participate? I imagine most, if not everyone, did, but I'm curious if anyone noticed his contributions.
2) we each got 250 gp, and an additional 225 for the group--is that correct?
3) are there any items for loot and/or sale, apart from the amulet?

Mr. Plugg had blood on his face, but you didn't see him engage. You also didn't see most of the fight abaft. Your gold calculation is correct. You also received potions.

This bit is mostly RP. I've got the flu right now, so I'm likely not going to make the next big post until tomorrow.

24 Arodus 4717

At dawn, a few hours after the celebration finally winds down, the ship’s bell sounds, calling all hands on deck. When the crew is assembled, a long line of captured officers and sailors from the Man’s Promise is brought on deck and paraded before the crew. Captain Harrigan addresses the captives first, offering a place on the Wormwood’s crew for any who want to throw their lot in with pirates. Several of the Rahadoumi sailors step forward; Master Scourge cuts their bonds, and the sailors take their places among the Wormwood’s crew. Harrigan then turns to address the Wormwood’s crew.

“All right, you scurvy tars! You’ve done a right good job by me—we’ve got a second ship now, and she’s quite a prize from the looks of her. But I still have only one crew. So here’s the plan—the Wormwood will sail on to our planned destination with our new shipmates here, while Mr. Plugg will pick a skeleton crew to sail the Man’s Promise to Port Peril, where she’ll be worth a pretty penny as salvage."

“As for these fine fellows here”—Harrigan gestures at the remainder of the captured ship’s crew—“some of them will no doubt be worth a hefty ransom from their families back in Azir. And for the rest, if the life of a pirate’s not for them, they can spend the rest of their lives at sea!” To make his point, Harrigan grabs one of the Rahadoumi sailors and throws her overboard to the accompaniment of cheers and laughter from the Wormwood’s crew. As the unfortunate woman sinks beneath the waves, many of the remaining sailors scramble to swear their loyalty to Harrigan. The officers are led belowdecks and the crew begins to disperse to their daily tasks.

As they do, Mr. Plugg and Master Scourge pick out several of the Wormwood’s original crew, telling them to be aboard the Man’s Promise within 10 minutes to set sail for Port Peril.

Scourge smiles evilly as he approaches you. You know what he's going to say. You sorry lot have precious little time. Say your good-byes. You're mine now."[/b]
