Thanks! I'll hoist a round to the Break-Fast club! Still slow until Gen Con, but I thought I'd get a post in. Looking at the math, we'll finish this in mid august. Next on the docket is The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch. I figure I'm going to start that one as part of GameDay 5 (seeing as this whole campaign started as a gameday game.) Last game day this party made it through 3 scenarios. I think we can do the same this time.

Finally, after much prep, the party steps through, unsure of what to expect. What they find isn't anything they ever would have suspected anyway.

It’s clear that at one point this was a grand theater. The gold railings still gleam despite years of sitting unpolished, and plush red velvet covers the walls and cushioned furniture. The cushions are mostly brown now, covered with mold and dirt. The damp, pervasive scent of moldy fabric and rot fills the air. There are two large balconies on each side of the theater about twenty feet above the orchestra level. The floor slopes down slightly, ending at a theater pit at the base of the stage. The stage itself is empty save a large, comfortable-looking chair in the center, illuminated with an ingenious system of magical lighting and mirrors.

A pair of mean looking kobolds guard the stage. Upon the stage is a powerful looking kobold with a body guard that shocks you - a large blue dragon the size of an elephant!!!

The dragon behind the chieftain stands up and stretches its wings as if about to take flight. The chieftain holds up a single hand before speaking, "Halt were you are! I demand to know where my tribute is!"

In a whisper, so only his companions can hear, Hun says "Auri, this seems right up your alley. I sorta want to tell the cunning little runt what I think of him and his little escapade down here in the sh!te tunnels of Absalom..."

Hun executes a flawless bow, despite never taking his eyes off of the dragon or the kobold "king".

Auri should probably get an AOO on the king as well, due to her reach

Seeing the king not giving up yet, Auri continues to suggest that
"Peaceful commerce is the better way!"

But she is not so foolish as to let up her own attacks first.

Hagnar moves to the end of the balcony, observing the actions below. He can feel Sarerae's holy light building inside him, but he holds it in and waits. (delay - searing light spell ready to fire off if needed!)

Auri hits the king (AoO or otherwise) hard enough to knock him flat, blood pooling from his wounds. The two guards stop in awe.

The chieftain’s fallen body takes on a bluish glow and the sound of electricity arcing grows swiftly from a faint buzz to a loud crackle. Bolts of lightning shoot down from the ceiling, striking Kibizax’s corpse over and over, filling the room with the booming sound of thunder and a palpable aura of static electricity. The fallen reptile’s body is wracked again and again with electrical fire until a glowing dragon made entirely of blue electricity rises from the corpse and takes wing. The dragon circles the room once with a roar then turns into an arc of pure energy, shooting through the ceiling with a final thunderous boom.

Yiddlepool becomes visible on the stage. The kobolds in the stands go silent too.

"I AM CHIEFTAIN YIDDLEPOOL! SURRENDER NOW AND I'LL SPARE YOU DEATH AT MY HANDS!"

Sense Motive DC 17:

she’s trying to pass a hint to you in her wording that your surrender is only for show.

Auri looks on in awe as the dragon spirit leaves the dead kobold.

"Wow.. you don't see that every day."

sense motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13

"As I've been trying to say. We don't want a fight. We want to make a deal..." tries Auri, exasperation in her voice.

Thiera studies the arcane energies. What in the world was that?!

Knowledge(arcana): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

"So what does this surrender entail, exactly?" Because if it involves being eaten, I have other ideas.

Thiera:
It was a minor image illusion.

Even the normally stoic cleric is too awed by the electrical show to notice Yiddlepool until after he has spoken...But he decides to join in the verbal battle anyways.
"We have defeated every layer of you defense and you still ask for our surrender? We should we not kill you now and deal with another, more understanding, representative...?" he calls from the balcony.
