Casting Prayer ~ You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a -1 penalty on such rolls.
I believe everyone on the map is in the 40' burst (centered on me).

Saul thinks this thing looks familiar... yes! A catoblepas. A magical beast, rare indeed. Ask any 1 question. The cage is the open wagon.
Caduceus sends up a Prayer to the Inheritor, as the Aspis wither a bit under the spell.

No guts no glory... Does it understand any languages?
Saul looks at the monsterous creature lumbering forward and leaps over, then puts his hand out.
"Sit! Who's a good Catoblepas? You're a good Catoblepas!"
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25
Not maintaining performance, raging song lingers for 2 rounds, all bonuses except fast healing continue.
He whispers back at his allies. "Go for the gold... eyes on the prize."
Sielan |
5 damage, -1 with DR 1/-.
Knowledge (arcana) to identify Catoblepas: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
With the warrior down Sielan does he best to calm down and regain his focus even as an arrow draws blood.
"Alright. I don't think they are giving up. You all keep safe and I'll try to track down the mage."
Calling upon the magical incantation, Sielan's eyes glow with a dim glows as he scans the field for the caster.
Flying up as I move, going up +20 feet into the air.

Also, in case it matters, don't forget to add in the +1 from the Prayer spell to the other character's rolls. My bonus(already included) is a +2 instead because of fate's favored.
With a curt nod, Aelwynd replies to Sielan, "Aye mate! He's all yours."
Then he calls out to the remaining guard, "Alright you! Drop your weapons, and leave us your gold. It's a simple transaction. You're just paying the road tax of Mick the Quick. I promise, you won't be hurt unless you continue to fight."
He strides over to the other guard, ready for any attack as he moves, confidently approaching the flank of the beast that is closing on Nachts. I hope this thing is friendly.

Ariana-Fighter |
Ariana moves up to the fellow in green, and swings with nonlethal intent. This will come back to haunt us I'm sure it will. She speaks a command word and her sword is wreathed in ice.

Catoblepas DC starts at 24. Aelwynd knows that the beast contains a poisonous breath weapon, and can trample like all get out.
Saul tries to sooth the beast, even as his performance lingers on his allies. Unfortunately, the beast doesn't seem to heed his words.
Aelwynd witches to a defensive stance, ready to accept all comers.
Ariana delivers a dolorous blow to the aspis agent, but not enough to bring him down.
Sielan flies up, but the spell caster is nowhere to be found.

Nachts Lemarchand |
Unless I am mistaken, this beast has moved into the area I threaten. Let me know if I am mistaken.
Nachts does not recognize the beast, but recognition does not figure up high in the warpriest's list of priorities. After all, all meat looks alike.

Indeed! Nachts takes the open swing, but doesn't swing hard enough, failing to get through the beast's tough hide. His follow up though is enough and dashes open its side. Still, the beast doesn't seem close to dropping.
In response the beast exhales a noxious cloud of gas that reaches astonishingly far... and high. The gas falls in a wave over Nachts, Caduceus, and Sielan. FORT DC 23 or take 1d6 ⇒ 4 CON DMG!

Sielan takes a deep breath of the gas before he can struggle for some free, fresh air.
"Yeah, but I'm still alive up here and that stink is doing a number on me!"
Seeing Solomon in peril, he casts a quick incantation to free him from the magical bindings.
Immediate action to cast liberating command on Saul. He gets an attempt, as an immediate action, to escape using Escape Artist with a +18 competence bonus.

Nachts continues to fight off the poison, but is STILL not free yet.

Aelwynd Swiftblade |
Since Cad finishes the round and we start at the top of the next, I figured it was ok to post.
Conflicting thoughts rapid dance through Aelwynd's mind upon hearing Sielan's words.
The mage is conjuring powerful magic?!? How interesting! No... That could be bad for the others. I can't let that happen!
Not waiting for the wizard to finish whatever it is he is casting, Aelwynd swiftly calls upon the magic of his blue scarf, extending his reach to ten feet with his weapon. He then dashes forward and thrusts his rapier where Sielan's glaive is pointed...
Since Aelwynd can see where Sielan is pointing, he will move within 5'(like normal) and attack the square. Since I (as the player) don't know where that is, please move Aelwynd to the correct spot. If the wizard becomes visible and then tries to move 5' away, he would still be in reach, but wouldn't likely know that so he might not cast defensively, provoking an attack.

I am having trouble telling if anyone has taken damage beyond stat damage. Lifelink is active (as is Status), so I need to know who has healed (and how much I have taken). It looks as if only Ariana has taken 15 points. If that is the case, she healed 5 and I took five on my turn.
I will also move out of the cloud if it is still there.
Solomon Goodman |
Fixed stat block
Seeing Sielan slowly withering away due to the poison, and worried that his allies may come next he shouts out another battlecry.
"Fight on through hardships to hell... And out the other side victorious!"
He casts a spell and weaves it into his performance twisting the cadence to a steady reliable beat.
Casting flexible fury to replace bestial leaper with fierce fortitude. Everyone who is raging gets +4 to saves vs poison and disease. Also restarting the rage. If sielan fails a save again he gets a saving finale and a firm reprimand.
Dying is highly discouraged until after I finish writing the tale.
Dungeon Master S |
Caduceus sees a few noncombatants hiding, but thus far the only casualties are the agents who tried to respond violently. He hints at a plan for the mage as the others close in on the remaining foe.
Saul quickly switching gears, moves to prevent the poison from REALLY doing damage.
Aelwynd tries his best and hits the invisible mage!

I could have sworn I had a partial wand of see invisibility, but no. So. Nachts will delay until that man get his invisibility purged or there's some indication of the square he is in.
Dungeon Master S |
My bad on the saves. Too many editions floating around. Two of you passed the initial, and are not on the hook. Only Sielan needs to continue.
Solomon Goodman |
I believe Nachts should still have his GM reroll available since that was used on the 2nd save.
Saul gives a short cheer as Aelwynd's blade connects and comes back with blood and he listens for the telltale cursing from an interrupted mage.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
Can Saul tell if the caster was able to hold onto his spell or was interrupted? If it sounds like he's still casting, I'll give a Gallant Inspiration to anyone who feels they need one while attacking him. Having met blade to flesh, Aelwynd cries out, ”HAHA! He’s here my friends!” indicating where his thrust found the wizard. As if on cue, Sielan, who can actually see the wizard, brings his deadly glaive down with a wicked slash right where Aelwynd was pointing.
That should be enough for Nachts to know where to attack
Solomon Goodman |
"Above! A white raven! Their foes are battered, grab the money and run!"
Since I don't think we have a real trap-finder, after this round as long as Saul is in good shape he'll voluntarily trigger the trap, and urge his compatriots to make use of his raging flier power to grab gold and flee.
