Running his hands against the blade's edge he causes it to become sharper,Kai then casts a spell, disappearing from sight! He then stteps forwards and strikes!

Kai's reflexes and mind work in harmony as he meets their threat with skill and knowledge. A single invisible blade lashes out and slices the demon, giving off not blood spray, but smoky darkness.
Shadow demons and succubi both resist magic, as well as wounds unless delivered by cold iron (or goodly weapons). They're immune to cold, electricity, and poison. They can shrug off a fair amount of fire and acid. Shadow demons, as Kai quickly determines, are in corporeal.

Shadow Demon's can destroy the light in an area, and they need only touch you to harm you. Strong ones can produce semi real spells that damage, and the possibilities are endless.
Succubi are only weak against good or cold iron weapons. They don't like fish, and they can charm and manipulate people even in the heat of combat!
Lucija brings down powerful magic! Will: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 and with a pop and whimper the shadow demon is no more! The winged woman screeches in rage!
Nym prepares for the succubus to do something tricky, while Katya aims her blast Changing targets and moving Katya so she has line. The water slams into her chest, hurting her and cutting off her rage-scream.
Welcome back, and I empathize, I've had post-op animals. Yes, no problem on the spell casting Varian. The only thing is, your target is gone. I'll give you a do over on the round.
Saul empowers the party. The odds were already good, but now they are so much better. The succubus doesn't seem to care though.

Sorry guys, the weekend got away from me, but I'm back! Let's do this!
Varian continues the magical push to make short work out of the enemy. Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28. Will: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23. The spell blasts right through her immortal resistance, but she withstands the spell with a snarl.
With her pet gone, she tries to bring forth reinforcements before the party closes with her: Summon: 1d100 ⇒ 81. She begins to weave a very complex call.

Saul moves forward and locks eyes with the succubus. "You think you can twist us to your will fiend? Not here, not now, not EVER!"
The last words of his proclamation raise higher and higher in frequency until they are so high that only the Succubus herself can hear them... and the Ear Piercing Scream threatens to overwhelm her.

Naghamadi can't connect as the succubus pulls away at the last moment as Lucija bolsters her teammate.
Nym begins to exude an aura that clearly dampens the succubus's resolve. Saul strikes just then with a spell that only she can hear FORT: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 2 = 9. The spell grabs her completely!

Still cloaked in his powerful magics, Arathorn dashes round the shelves of burnt paper to approach the Succubi from the rear. Before doing so, he calls upon his elven trained magic, casting a sickly black spell on his sword, glad that no others can see it. Using his training to its fullest, he also focuses his aim, his magically infused eyes finding a gap between the unnatural scales on the demon's flesh.

Saul raises his naginata and gives out a victorious shout as his raucous chant comes to an end. "Another fiend sent back from whence she came. I'll never get tired of the look in their eyes when they realize that they are no match for us."
He casts detect magic and begins to follow Kai around, helping where he can.

It takes an hour, but the thorough team of Pathfinders finds a pair of secret doors leading out of this room! During the search you get a good feel for the contents of the archives. They contain numerous writings compiled by Baldimar and his colleagues, as well as his expert contacts. Most of the records concern demonic studies, though some focus on other outsiders. You also find a pair of Lesser Restoration scrolls.

Naghamadi searches along the opposite wall from the rest, finding the passageway at the same time as they do, while Lucija voraciously investigates the texts.

Naghamadi doesn't find anything else new, and Lucija finds all manner of interesting bits that would likely find a good home in the libraries of the Pathfinder Society.

Sighing as it takes them so long to search the place, Arathorn is never the less enlightened by the prospect of so much information to go through, taking his chance in brief invisibility to pocket one or two books for later reading, not much caring of their contents. Examining the northern most exit, carefully hidden within the wooden details of the room, Kai gives it a critical eye before setting about to open it.
"Well, ready my fine folks? We re about to find out Cayden Cailean's dirty little secrets!" he says with glee.

Once found the secret door presents no dangers, only a path down deeper below. It ends in a door that also seems to be neither locked, nor trapped.
With that, the Pathfinder team opens it.
Several sealed casks line the south wall, pressed against a work desk fitted along the room’s curved corner. Within a wide alcove at the far end of the chamber rests a bed with moldering sheets and a hope chest at its foot. Near the bed balances a crooked wardrobe adjacent to simple brown robes dangling from pegs. On another wall hangs a map of the area around Lake Encarthan. Pinned along its perimeter hang dozens of faded papers, diagrams, and notes.

Confidently following Saul through the passageway, Arathorn gives a low whistle as they survey the secret bedroom.
"Interesting place! Not all that enticing to pull your intended partner down into though, reeks a little creepy" he says lightheartedly, though it is a tad forced. "Why Lake Encarthan though?"
Cautiously he strides through the room, his ears pricked for trouble as he approaches the map, intrigued to see the mysteries it stores.

Saul scans the room for magic auras, and then begins to prod at the casks, checking to see if any of them appear to contain more than just dust or well aged alcohol.

"So... Lake Encharthan... I seem to recall it having some significance to the Shining Crusade of an age long past. I wonder, if the map is marking treasure finds or troop movements?"

Nym eventually follows Arathorn, Solomon and the others. He quickly rattles off a cantrip to find magical auras, scanning the room from the doorway, then shrugs. "You're all very magically adept. If a face appears that needs placating, let me know. I have a way with worrrds."

The party gives the room a thorough look. Nothing surprising arises from the investigation. The map seems run of the mill, and the hope chest is full of simple robes and shoes.
After fighting planar foe after planar foe this room seems....plain.
The door deeper into the complex seems similarly unremarkable.

"Fair point," Nym replies to Katya, but in the common tongue. "We should take a look at that other room before we stir up more trouble."
The wizard then backtracks to the main room, positioning himself near the other secret door.

He opens up the second secret door and pops his head in before motioning for Nym and Katya to join.

"Interesting! The last did seem like a bedroom and study, so it may well be the truth. Let us see if this next room reveals anything more to us eh?" Arathron says as he leaves the previous secret room.
Following the Good singer through the next carefully hidden door, the Magus peers over the Half-orc's muscular shoulder for a better look inside the room.

Walking through the next room, the Magus is glad to see that it is a simple stairwell and not a dastardly trap, at least not yet anyway. Nodding to the good Skald and patting his shoulder to let him know he was behind and ready he smiles.
"Sure, let us purge! A good purging always has a grand story behind it!" he says with a laugh.

The party chooses a marching order and heads down stairs.
The remnants of a large laboratory lie in splintered ruin, a bizarre sculpture of strange cogs, split beams, smashed furniture, and dunes of broken glass. Everything is splattered with chemical stains and compounds, and a toxic reek fills the air.
The air is decidedly toxic. Even from the stairs you can tell that it's not breathable for any length of time.
