Ledges and stairs are carved into the stone walls of this wide-open, high-ceilinged natural cavern. Embedded in a fifteen-foot-tall spire of centuries-old bones stands the skeleton of a massive armored warrior. Though its flesh has long since rotted off its frame, the skeleton still stands proud and regal amid the trappings of battle and mounds of gleaming treasure. The skeleton’s battered halfplate and scarred helmet hint at its many battles, and the warlord’s hands are clenched around a massive stone hammer. Beneath the helmet, a thick, round rock has been embedded in one of the skeleton’s otherwise empty eye sockets.
Between you and the ancient warrior stands a half-orc. Though nearly six and a half feet tall, the gangly half-orc can't weigh more than a couple hundred pounds. The dark blond locks on his head suggest Ulfen descent, and the tattoos across his face are intricate and detailed, even in the dim light. With him are a pair of immense black wolves, each the size of a horse, with fangs as large and sharp as knives. The half-orc is searching for something when you enter.
Unfortunately, one of the wolves growls as Whistle Pig approaches.
He turns to you, surprised to have been followed, his voice is hoarse, as if he's been at this all night while you rested. "Nameless deaths yours shall be. Convenient that this is a tomb already."
The hopeknife feels hot in the sheath...

Dungeon Master S |
The half orc barks a command to the wolves to attack while he mixes some concoction and quickly drinks it.
The wolves obey instantly. One gets close enough to bite at Hamilton Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13, but Hamilton's armor wins the contest.
Round 1:

"The only one that's nameless here, boy, is you. And it looks like you've made this mistake and will be keeping it that way."
Vael begins a chant, willing the spirits of nature to aid him. He gets the sense that they're listening...
Summon Nature's Ally I. Bringing another eagle into play. Full round action though.
Doxon Greyforge |
Knowing Ham can handle himself, Doxon comes to Whistle Pig's defense.
Swift: Fervor - cast Divine Favor on himself.
CHARGE!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Ushyle |
Ushyle charges in alongside Ham, trying to place himself so that the other wolf would need to move past him to go on to Vael and Raen. His greataxe is in his hands in a twinkling as he tries to bring the lupine threat down, and he notes with some gratitude that Tyari's ministrations have been successful — it feels god to have his strength back.
greataxe, charge: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12
dmg: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Over-exhilaration is his weakness on this attack, however, and he curses. Ka rolasi!
Dungeon Master S |
Doxon's charge is enough to draw blood, splattering on his halfling friend. Ushyle isn't so lucky, missing with his swing. Meanwhile, Vael's spell develops
Round 1:

Raen: Go
Doxon: Hit
Whistle Pig: Go
Ushyle: Miss
Vael: SNAI
Black: 5
Skreed: (Bomber's Eye through round 4)

Ham's hand moves to Brinya's Love and he looks confused for a moment. The moment quickly passes, however, as the wolf... Warg? Knowledge Nature:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17... Runs up and snaps at him. Ham is quick, and steps aside as the jaws catch nothing but air. There's a ring as Ham draws his blade and slashes at the exposed neck of the beast.
Longsword:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
But the blow is reflexive rather than calculated, and misses.
Ham motions to Ushyle, indicating that he should move to flank if he can.
Dungeon Master S |
Ham knows these are dire wolves. Larger, nastier versions of a typical timber wolf.
Ham's miss draws only anger from the wolf.
Round 1:
Enemy: Drink and fight
Hamilton: Miss
Raen: Go
Doxon: Hit
Whistle Pig: Go
Ushyle: Miss
Vael: SNAI

Whistle Pig |
WP has a flashback from the day of Rodrick's death. Alchemical items and wolf fur. Could this be the murderer?
WP's thoughts are rudely bought back to the present as a HUGE wolf comes charging at him.
Pig is happy that his friends are coming to his aid but he really wishes they would be more careful with their blood splattering.
5ft step to get some space with a quick snap of the wrist launches a bullet in the direction of the wolf's nose.
to hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
damage +2 for size: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
Dungeon Master S |
From just a step away the halfling launches a bullet that strikes the wolf in the skull, cracking it, but not killing the animal.
Round 1:
Enemy: Drink and fight
Hamilton: Miss
Raen: Go
Doxon: Hit
Whistle Pig: Hit
Ushyle: Miss
Vael: SNAI
Black: 12

Raen Varkath |
Raen gazes down the passage, waiting for the scout's return with a report. She is alarmed when instead two dire wolves invade her vision. "Let's see if this works a second time," she mutters, hurrying forward and beginning the arcane incantation.
Move action to get closer, standard to begin full-round cast.
Dungeon Master S |
Raen joins Vael in complex magic as the wolves and the half-orc wreak havoc.
The injured wolf steps forward to go after Whistle Pig:
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9, but the halfling is too nimble.
It's mate steps up and goes after Doxon, pinning him between two dire wolves: Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10, and the dwarf stands solid, unbloodied.
The half orc moves closer, mixing reagents for the fight to come.
Round 2:
Enemy: Fight
Hamilton: Go
Raen: Go
Doxon: Go
Whistle Pig: Go
Ushyle: Go
Vael: Go

Doxon Greyforge |
Unbowed and undaunted, Doxon brings both of his pick down on the dire wolf.
Pick: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Pick,offhand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Dungeon Master S |
Doxon gives it right back. He scores a glancing blow with his first swing, but the second slides off the wolf, the angle being too shallow.
Round 2:
Enemy: Fight
Hamilton: Go
Raen: Go
Doxon: Hit
Whistle Pig: Go
Ushyle: Go
Vael: Go

Hamilton swings again...
Longsword:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage on Hit:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
And cuts the wolf across his flank.
Dungeon Master S |
Hamilton's slice runs deep, and the wolf's wounds are beginning to add up, leaving it seriously injured.

Raen: Go
Doxon: Hit
Whistle Pig: Go
Ushyle: Go
Vael: Go

Ushyle |
Took the liberty of moving Doxon a five-foot-step.
Ushyle studies the injured wolf for just a heartbeat, tracking its movements and habits with his mind's eye; then times the swing of his axe to take the beast's head from its body.
greataxe, studied target: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 6 + 1 = 15
dmg: 1d12 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 4 + 1 = 15

Whistle Pig |
Whistle Pig deftly dodges the wolf's attack. He ponders using his new slingstaff as a club but know that's not his strength. Pig slips back to get some room to use his sling for it's true purpose: raining death from range. A quick figure eight and a <crack!> sends the bullet to it's target (northern wolf)
bullet to northern wolf: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
The bullet sails high. WP is still getting used to the new release point of the weapon...
Hamilton Renaud |

Vael finishes his summoning chant, and an eagle appears in the air in a burst of feathers!
15ft in the air, 15ft ahead of Vael
The shaman gestures to the blonde half-orc, and the predatory bird charges through the sky, swooping at the enemy with it's sharp talons!
Claw Attack w/Charge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Hoping that the half-orc is occupied for now, Vael looks to his allies. Choosing Hamilton, he focuses on the Spirits of Fortune, and funnels that energy into the militiaman.
Fortune on Hamilton. He has 'Advantage' on a d20 roll next round only.
Dungeon Master S |

Wings of silver! Nerves of Steel!
Raen Varkath |
This mental journey is not as disorienting for Raen the second time around. She returns from her arcane reverie with orders ready on the tip of her tongue.
Once again, the bound elemental bends to the wizard's bark and smashes a basalt fist into the canine's brain. Then the earth made manifest circles the other wolf for a tactical advantage.
Power Slam @ Injured Wolf, Flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 3 = 11
Per Slack, that drops it.
Raen slides past the fallen wolf and readies her crossbow, taking a shot at the remaining wolf.
Bolt @ Black, Into Melee: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 - 4 = 15
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Dungeon Master S |
The map doesn't line up with the actions described above. The black outlined wolf is only nicked, and wouldn't drop due to the attack, nor is the elemental flanking it. I'm jut going to move the elemental to the white wolf, and have Raen's bolt hit the remaining.
The new elemental obeys with nothing more than a grunt that sounds like a landslide. It's thrust breaks the wolf's neck in an instant. Raen then hits the remaining wolf with a lucky hit.
The wolf prefers flesh to earth, and steps forward to again bite at Doxon Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 and again its jaws fail to connect.
From the northeast comes a raucous roar as a flood troll emerges in the room,
These are the lot that kilt my sister?!
The half-orc steps back and hurls a bomb at the eagle pestering him: ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 for DMG: 4d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 3) + 6 = 18 and in a burst of flame and feather the bird is no more.

The elemental continues to execute Raen's orders. This time it smashes down with simultaneous hammerfists (fluff).
Power Slam @ Black: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 1 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 7 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 3 = 12
If that drops it, Raen will issue new orders for the elemental to take on the troll.
The wizard snipes at the half-orc from across the cavern, knowing her shot has little chance of success.
Bolt @ Blonde: 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 2 = 9 yep
Dungeon Master S |
Neither the elemental nor Raen can connect on their follow ups. The half-orc gives a disconcerting laugh as he prepares his next bomb...

Pick, offhand: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

The half-orc steps into a position of advantage with Raen's summoned assistant as the flood troll makes its way in. With a wry smile, he studies it for a moment, looking for an opening in the wolf's hide...
greataxe, flank, studied target: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 27
dmg w/flank and studied target: 1d12 + 4 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + (3, 2) = 13
...and he finds one, but his cut is not deep enough. Solid, but not lethal, he thinks, his smile turning into a scowl. And now there are more...

Vael moves closer to the action, taking stock of the new danger. "Not another. No traps this time either."
Sensing that Whistle Pig's slingstaff could be useful against it, Vael focuses on the Spirits of Fortune, and funnels that energy into the halfling.
Move and Fortune hex on Whistle Pig.
Dungeon Master S |
Hamilton's blade strikes true with the shaman's fortune, dropping the dire wolf into a pool of blood!
Vael continues with his spiritual powers, giving Whistle Pig his Fortune.
The half-orc snarls and hurls a bomb at Ushyle! ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 it slams into Ushyle's chest doing Fire: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 6) + 3 = 15 damage (REF DC 15 or you also catch on fire.)
