Diri Lizzenbettolze |
Diri follows suit, free hand clearly off her weapon, (not really much she can do about her shield hand).
"Any logical argument deserves to be heard even if it is dripping with sarcasm," Diri raises an eyebrow. "How much more lucrative is the other side?"
Diplomacy to Aid: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Valandil Anwamanë |
"diplomacy aid: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6
"I hear a rat in a cage dropping a lot of names but not knowing a lot more about them." notes the wizard.
"Keen ears may learn a lot. What I am curious about though is what your ears may have heard about the head of the serpent."
Dungeon Master S |
Tseka looks... worried about how you're not going for the deal.
She's looking to the shadows like an actor looking to be fed a line.
Valandil Anwamanë |
SM: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
"Where is the real Tseka ?"
Nixkamich Otaktay |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18.
Nixkamich pinches the bridge of his nose, and sighs, before saying, not unkindly:
"Look, we have no quarrel with you, and we actually mean Tseka no harm (unless we have to defend ourselves)."
He then raises his voice.
"Would the real Tseka please step forward...?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20.
Zinkyudo |
Sense Motive, Heroism: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 2 = 16
Zinkyudo listens to the conversation, hearing the same false note as Valandil and Nix. "Who are you looking to there in the shadows?" he asks. "Is that where the real Tseka is?"
Sarsczek |
Sense motive: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 11 + 2 = 27
Noticing the cue, Sarsczek tries to follow her gaze and look for any indications of a hiding or invisible companion.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Tametomo Buruzuai |
"When we say we mean no harm, we do. Please, could you help us in our humble quest?" asks Tametomo, raising his hands to show he really means no harm.
Diplomacy (aid): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Detect Evil on the ratfolk
Dungeon Master S |
Faintly Evil
The ratfolk, seeing the ruse is up, answers your questions, though not the way you were hoping. "DIE PATHFINDER SCUM!"
You can see a Ratfolk hiding behind the right side pillar, and there's a trap door near the base of the stage.
Baddies: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Valandil: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Nix: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Dungeon Master S |
Round 1:
Tametomo: Go
Valandil: Go
Sarsczek: Go
Baddies: TBD
Diri: TBD
Nix: TBD
Zinkkyudo: TBD
Almost a straight!
Sarsczek |
Sarsczek snarls an bestial growl... which might sound menacing if it game from just about anyone other than Sarsczek. He pushes forward, making a beeline to the hidden ratfolk and charges him down, taking a chomp out of him. He holds back a small amount of his full strength though...
Charge 'n' Chomp!: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17 +2 if I got a chance to study him before initiative
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Acid: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Sneak Attack: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 2) + 2 = 10 if he's flat-footed
"Sneaky one here, trapdoor under stage!"
Dungeon Master S |
You did mention "studying carefully" so I'll give it to you (though you may want to call it out directly.) I can't give you the charge though because stairs up are difficult terrain (unless I'm missing an item/feat you have.) Still, it's a hit!
The slayer dashes forward and chomps down on the apparent impostor!
Round 1:
Tametomo: Go
Valandil: Go
Sarsczek: ATK
Baddies: TBD
Diri: TBD
Nix: TBD
Zinkkyudo: TBD
Fake Tseka: 19
Dungeon Master S |
Oops! My bad. That really changes things.
The slayer dashes towards a hidden foe. Unfortunately he can't catch the ratfolk hidden by surprise as she's far too trained to fall for such a simple tactic.
Round 1:
Tametomo: Go
Valandil: Go
Sarsczek: ATK
Baddies: TBD
Diri: TBD
Nix: TBD
Zinkkyudo: TBD
Fake Tseka: 0
Tseka: 0
Sarsczek |
Was I able to study her before combat? I can study 2 people at a time, I just didn't get a chance to post between the perception check and initiative, not sure how much time was between those 2 events.
Dungeon Master S |
Yes, you can have studied both.
Tametomo Buruzuai |
Tametomo frowns and draws his longbow stepping 5 feet before him. He then fires two arrows at the ratfolk up the stairs, shaking his head.
"Evil dwells in her heart. You must die." he simply declares.
+1 Longbow, PBS, RS, DA: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (10) + 8 - 1 = 17 for Arrow: 1d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7

Valandil Anwamanë |
"Alive! We want her alive!
Sensing the battle may be tough, Valandil starts a summons.
Dungeon Master S |
Tametomo shoots twice, with both arrows landing with a wet thunk in the ratfolk's belly. The pained noise that comes out is much lower pitched than the previous voice.
Valandil begins a complex spell for the melee to come.
And boy does it ever...
The ratfolk on the stage weaves her own spell. She releases a cone of fire from her mouth just like a dragon! It hits everyone but Sarsczek (concentration check Val). It burns for DMG: 7d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 3, 2, 5, 3) = 26 REF DC 20 for half.
The ratfolk in the corner stabs with a rapier at the slayer, ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 for a whopping DMG: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 but Sarsczek needs to make a FORT save.
Round 1:
Tametomo: ATK
Valandil: Magic!
Sarsczek: ATK
Baddies: ATK
Diri: Go
Nix: Go
Zinkkyudo: Go
Fake Tseka: 21
Tseka: 0
Tametomo Buruzuai |
Oh, god. I hate playing out of tier...
Ref save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 I'm aliiiive!
Tametomo, already focusing on his target and protected by divine grace, manages to dodge most of the fire.
Valandil Anwamanë |
reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
The pain is indescribable, and Valandil loses his concentration and pretty much consciousness.
on 0 hp, and even on a natural 20 he can't make a DC 38 concentration check.
He staggers out of the line of battle.
Unless anyone can pump a heal into him, Val is out until at least round five. Next round move action to pick up a potion (assuming he is carrying the CSW from the previous find. Round four drinks it. Round five will be able to act. Nasty dragons breath.
Nixkamich Otaktay |
Reflex: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 + 2 = 32.
Nixkamich shakes his head, sadly.
"You have chosen... poorly..."
He then unleashes a flurry of arrows at the fake Tseka.

Sarsczek |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
As Sarsczek is slashed, his Crown of Swords conjures a spectral weapon which immediately strikes back for vengeance! Immediate reaction, summons a spiritual weapon which immediately attacks, and can continue attack on my turns, but cannot be redirected to other foes.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Force Dmg: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Zinkyudo |
Reflex, Heroism: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20 Huzzah for the wand of heroism!
Zinkyudo manages to dodge some of the fiery blast, using the momentum from his dodge to dart across the room where he has a better shot. He lines up on the Tseka impersonator, taking a quick breath and willing himself to a place of inner calm before releasing his arrow.
Move action to get through crowd of PC's, standard to shoot with Perfect Strike (1/3 uses today). Will target the false Tseka if she's still up, the other one if she's not.

Status: 9/22 hp
Dungeon Master S |
The flame knocks Val nearly to death. Nix, however, responds with a holy vengeance. One arrow sneaks in, but it does a LOT of damage. The ratfolk waivers a bit...
Sarsczek's crown bursts into action, but the ratfolk parries the force attack.
Round 1:
Tametomo: ATK
Valandil: Magic!
Sarsczek: ATK

Diri: Go
Nix: ATK
Zinkyudo: Go
Fake Tseka: 45

Diri Lizzenbettolze |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
A quick glance and immediate triage suggest a reasonable chance that another blast like that would be disastrous.
"Scatter and focus on her lest she be able to replicate the results of that last conflagration, Diri offers, moving away from the group and blasting "Tseka's" general vicinity with another burst of fire.
disruptive fireball, CL 6, DC 16: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 4, 5, 2) = 23
Move 15ft away from the group, casts (disruptive) fireball.
Dungeon Master S |
Even if I make that save, it doesn't matter for her.
Diri responds with fire of her own! When the flames vanish, there's nothing left. The corpse, however, is a Tien female, not a ratfolk!
Round 1:
Tametomo: ATK
Valandil: Magic!
Sarsczek: ATK
Baddies: ATK
Diri: BOOM
Nix: ATK
Zinkyudo: Go
Tseka: 0
Dungeon Master S |
You did. I'll give you your round back.
Dungeon Master S |
Retcon. Diri's fireball killed your target before your initiative count came up. The fake one was dead before you fired.
Dungeon Master S |
Good call! Sorry, I was checking on my phone without Wayfinder. Hard to catch.
The Zen archer relaxes consciousness and lets fly, the arrow zipping past Sarsczek and striking the small ratfolk.
Round 2:
Tametomo: Go
Valandil: Go
Sarsczek: Go
Baddies: TBD
Diri: TBD
Nix: TBD
Zinkyudo: TBD
Tseka: 7
Valandil Anwamanë |
Valandil slowly gets the potion of cure moderate wounds out of his pouch.
"Remember, Alive!"
Tametomo Buruzuai |
Archers, unite!
Tametomo grunts and grinds his teeth but stares intently at the ratfolk. "Meet and face your judgment, Tseka!"
Smitin'
He quickly fires blunt arrows to deal non-lethal damage.

Or I could flail wildly...
Sarsczek |
I almost forgot... Spiritual Weapon scales with my BAB... it gets 1 more attack (that is nearly guaranteed to miss).
Spritual Sword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Force: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Dungeon Master S |
Tametomo scores a single hit, the blunt hit knocks her head back a bit. Sarsczek goes crazy, but the ratfolk keeps her defenses up against the natural weapons, but takes a hit from the force sword.
She uses her training and stabs at the slayer ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 and again goes for the vitals ATK: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 and scores another hit DMG: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5. She then bounds away to a better position Acrobatics: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20

Sarsczek |
Yet another sword of force blips into existence once blood is drawn!
Spiritual Sword: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Force: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Diri Lizzenbettolze |
Diri takes a few steps towards the door to cover a possible retreat (and to get Tseka out of channel range), and enacts a bit of immediate triage.
Channeling: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) = 16 To everyone but Tseka and Sarsczek.
Sarsczek |
That's when they attack on my turn. When they appear as a reaction they make a single attack, then on my turn they make full attacks. So if she's still up I'll be making 4 attacks with spiritual weapons, then 1 of my own. Also, do I need to make another fort save from her attack?
Sarsczek |
Crown of swords lets me basically cast spiritual weapon as a reaction to being hit. It has 10 charges per day. Every time I make a sword I spend a charge. Every round I have the sword linger I spend a charge. I picked it up because it was silly to put on Sarsczek, and gives him an answer for incorporeal creatures.
Zinkyudo |
Knowing Sarsczek longs to have someone flank his foes with him, Zinkyudo aims a blunt arrow at Tseka's knee, then runs across the room to stand by her!
Standard action to attack for non-lethal damage, move action to get into flanking position for our claw machine. Now bound up and over the stage and knock her down!
