Castiel rattles the handle of the door at the end of the cellblock a few times. “Locked,” he says. “We might get through there via one of these other doors ... or we could try to bash it down, or leave it and come back later.” It appeared to be bolted from the other side, right?
Similarly try the door at I22.
It'll open for you. Sorry....
The door opens. This room is spacious; there's rows of wall shackles. At position x, there's a skeleton still shackled. It is wrapped in a prisoner's robes, and is wrapped in chains that bear weights which are covered with holy symbols of different religions.
Castiel of Fangwood(Male Human (Varisian) Paladin of Iomedae (Undead Scourge) 4)
Knowledge religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Try to figure out why the prisoner would have been so shackled with holy symbols? Castiel will also call the others over to consult on the matter.
Has Larissa heard anything or read anything in the research that might indicate why a prisoner would be shackled with religious symbols. I'm thinking I remember something, but I'm not positive and don't want to speak out of turn if I'm incorrect.
"Interesting," Rholf muses aloud "That one must have been particularly nasty to warrant such treatment."
Rholf prays briefly (casts Detect Magic) before looking around the room in general, then focusing on the chains, symbols, and skeleton itself. Rholf doesn't get more than 10' from the thing
"If I had to guess, I'd say this person either made it a priority to offend against these gods and their followers, or someone figured the symbols would somehow better confine him or her."
General intuition is that this is Father Charlatan, who made his living by selling false miracles and snake oil....
Castiel of Fangwood(Male Human (Varisian) Paladin of Iomedae (Undead Scourge) 4)
"Ah, Father Charlatan, of course," says Castiel as divine inspiration hits him. "I think our research uncovered something about him - one of the six particularly dangerous prisoners detained here at the time of the fire ... beware of ghosts and haunts ..."
Oh DUH... Thanks for whacking me with the 2x4 Mr. DM...
Rholf shakes his head at missing the obvious... "I'd have gotten there... eventually... maybe..." Laughing at himself, Rholf stows his scimitar, draws his mace, then says another prayer to Sarenrae (This time casting Hide from Undead on himself, Larissa, and Alinya) during which he briefly lays a hand on Larissa and Alinya.
"Whatever undead is present will not be aware of your presence. I may be able to end this quickly, but be prepared."
Rholf's intention is to stride over to the skeleton and destroy it with his mace and holy water.
Castiel of Fangwood(Male Human (Varisian) Paladin of Iomedae (Undead Scourge) 4)
Castiel also pulls out a flask of holy water, in case of any spiritual manifestation.
With the spell completed, shield readied, and mace in hand, Rholf moves over to where the remains are (D 24, please), takes careful aim, and attempts to smash the skull with his mace.
Castiel of Fangwood(Male Human (Varisian) Paladin of Iomedae (Undead Scourge) 4)
Castiel flings the flask of holy water at the smoky haunt hovering about the skull. Ranged touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 damage: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
“Ware! A haunt,” he cries. “Miss Brightfoot, Lady Alinya, will one of you be so good as to channel positive energy in this area? Now if you don’t mind.”
Edwin spots it, (but he'll be hard pressed to confess that he thinks Castiel spotted it first!)
He reaches for his own vial of Holy Water, but holds it in reserve. Instead he focuses on watching for the haunt's manifestation, and hopes that he's quick enough to counter it before it fully manifests,...
"Well done, folks!" Rholf's expression brightens quite a bit. "A successful day already. Let us see what other evil we can dispatch today." he says as he walks back to the door.
I22 is a similar chamber; the shackles on the wall are all bare.
at q 21, the green is more individual cell blocks; there's a door at the end of the hall.....
You can hear clanging around in there.
Castiel of Fangwood(Male Human (Varisian) Paladin of Iomedae (Undead Scourge) 4)
Castiel indicates as such to the others, then moves forward, sword drawn, keeping a wary eye on the cells that he passes. When he reaches the door he takes a moment to listen Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18, then tries to open the door.
Grrr, can't seem to open the map from work.?!? (Never had that trouble before) The university doesn't usually restrict things like picture sites, just P2P type things. (?)
Please place Ed where he can see and use his bow & whip if needed, from behind the meat shields! :)
Edwin stands ready, a ghost touch arrow knocked and ready, frowning thoughtfully as the paladin reaches for the door,...

Not sure; I don't think it's blocked from my side.
The party interrupts the proceedings of a gaggle of ghouls, meeping about in the prison's kitchen, strewing stale flour and pots and pans about and just generally being a carnivorous nuisance.
The brown is tables, and the brown along the wall is prep tables with cabinetry above.
The grey is a massive stove, 5 foot tall; the "g"s are ghould who are farting around on top of the stove.
One looks at another as Castiel opens the door; "see? I told you this is where they keep food...."
