"Indeed. Not usually a wand one would choose if expecting battle. From his garb and accoutrements, I suspect that he was a performer. Either a particularly tasteless bard, or a first rate jester. It's difficult to tell, they have so many similarities." Edwin says drolly.

"NOW the question is, what was our would-be performer doing out here in a cemetery, presumably alone, armed improperly for either exploration or battle?" Edwin purses his lips thoughtfully, tapping his chin.

"I hesitate to jump to a conclusion without more data, but this one seems fairly straightforward enough. The answer is, 'He came here neither to explore nor fight, (not expecting beasts), but to entertain.' Nor was he alone." The detective says, warming up. He smirks lightly at his companions.

"Anyone care to hazard a guess as to whom he was entertaining?"

"Perhaps he and some companions were camping over there." She points at the campsite Castiel referred to, "And his companions fled when this one was killed."

In that vein, she goes over to investigate the campsite, looking to determine its age, if there are any tracks, etc. Castiel will aid her.

There's a wineskin, some moldy trail rations, and a glass vial of a green substance that smells like carrots.

"NOw then, we have a boat, a dead dwarf, an abandoned campsite, (Judging by the condition, it WAS left rather hastily), A Manticore's nest,... all that is left is to examine the graveyard itself, and the site where the croc, (possibly this same one which visited us,) attacked the beast!" Edwin's eyes gleam as he turns to their guide.

"'Scuze meh sur, cuuld yew pernt out 'zackly whar deh gater 'et deh Beas'? Ah'd luv teh knew 'zackly how he survived bein et!" The detective asks the swamp-dweller in a passable dialect. He's getting better every time! ;)

With your only boat.....(bedides the one in the stand of trees)......but he said he'd be back......

Larissa and Castiel work to get the hidden boat out of its resting place to see if it is swamp-worthy - and perhaps something is hidden within.

Without rolling,......you see an oar, a back pack, and a rope that stretches over to the water. Taut, like it's being pulled by weight.

The boat looks worthy.

Rholf will test the rope to see if it pulls out of the water.

It does. It feels like it's trapped by seaweed at first. Or, maybe there's a corpse in there.......it's very heavy.

Eventually, he hauls up a big canvas sack. Big enough to contain a body.

Just the right size to contain a human body, in fact.

Something clanky is in there; metal clanking sound.

Once the bag is on land, open it and peer in - or dump it into the boat - we don't want to lose something in the grass here.

"Well! Buried treasure! Or at least sunken treasure. This si our day, isn't it?" He asks with a grin.

When everyone is ready, he pulls the bag open,...

The bag in the boat has a shirt, breeches, shoes, a blood spattered apron, and......a detached human face. Like Leatherhead.

There's blood smeared in the boat too; it's pretty old.
