a woman with a obsidian blade covering her hand extending back a few inches onto her arm comes into the town and looks around, avoiding gathering too much attention.
*hmph*
she softly chuckles. This ought to be good to watch. her chain shirt is somewhat well fitted, but crude. made for her, but not made the best.

With his armor on and his green coat of arms over it depicting in gold thread embroidery an eight spoked wheel with a lion's face in the center, his backpack and traveling gear on his back over his scabbard with a very large sheathed sword, in front of that is his large shield with the same coat of arms on it.
His armor reaches all the way down to his feet with heavy boots incorporated. His hands are bare with gauntlets on his belt. He has no armor from the neck up.
His hair is dark black and short. His eyes are chocolate light brown. His skin is fair and just short of tan.
He inspects the wares of seasonal vendors and people seem to like him immediately, recognizing his kind demeanor and likeable disposition, as well as recognizing the symbol of his order, those of which being sworn to help and defend the good people they encounter in their travels.
Cale Vatay |
Cale into town for the festival with a slight spring in his step, joyfully anticipating it as he does every year, he enters the town looking at the at the festivities about to be underway, glad that this year he wasn't stuck behind some booth, he pats the box under his arm anticipating releasing the butterflies he had caught just that morning
Eldon Underbough |
The typically grim Halfling makes his way into the village of Sandpoint, holding his reaping tool (scythe) fairly loosely in one hand, using it similar to a walking stick. The male halfling stands tall for his race at about a meter in height (maybe a few centimeters short of that mark), and has brown eyes to match his scraggy shoulder-length brown hair. The halfling seems to have not brought the customary butterflies to the festival. His views did not always align with those of the Desnans of Sandpoint, but he understood that such traditions were important for keeping a tight-knit community, so he had decided to make an appearance nonetheless.
The halfling is dressed in fairly loose, easy fitting clothing with is mostly covered by a suit of armour made from hide, in which he seems fairly comfortable. One might mistake him for a hunter if had any weaponry for such a task. A scythe does not make for good hunting, and the sling at his side, while being the choice weapon for halflings, would not suit that purpose much better.
The halfling openly displays no symbol of worship, and bears no visible tattoos or scars. He is generally fairly quite, sober, though he does seem always to be on alert, though the reason for his alertness is unclear.

Well now, this town has got to be the right one, what do you think Flim
entering town from a completely unexpected direction coming out from the trees near the bridge by Undercliff way a halfling on a pony loaded with what seems to be everything but the kitchen sink.
glancing around he notices the bridge and the road
What?!?! There was a road? the halfling pulls out a half torn map that looks to hand drawn by 5 year old. he examine it a moment then looks around then in a moment of inspiration flips it around.
Hey there it is, Oh well we are here now, whereever here is
he rides across the bridge and soon hears the sounds of the festival.
Hey Flim we found it, or at least a party, if not the festival of tail swallowing
the two make their way through the town following the sounds of the festival.
upon reaching the town square and the multitudes of people of all shapes and sizes. he quickly dismounts and ties the pony to the nearest post.
You stay here Flim I'll bring you a nice apple. OK?
and off the halfling goes grabbing free samples as he goes tasting the local fare.
Finally a smile crosses his face and he finds a couple of empty crates and stakes them up making a make-shift stage. and with the snap of his fingers a guitar materalizes in his hands. and after a few more arcane gestures there is the sound of music eminating about him.
Come one, Come all, come hear the tunes of Fulito Ferrywarden Bard of the River Kingdoms he hollars out in a booming voice amplified by the magic of the spell.
He then begins to play and sing
Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk
Of a day -I-ay-I-ay
I met a little girl and we stopped to talk
On a grand soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
'Cause her hair was black and her eyes were blue
And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl
Down the Salthill Prom with a Sandpoint girl
We were halfway there when the rain came down
On a day -I-ay-I-ay
And she took me up to her flat downtown
On a fine soft day -I-ay-I-ay
And I ask you, friend, what's a fella to do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
So I took her hand and I gave her a twirl
And I lost my heart to a Sandpoint girl
But when I woke up I was all alone
With a broken heart and a ticket home
And I ask you friend, what's a fella to do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
See I've traveled around I've been all over the world
I've never seen nothin' like a Sandpoint girl
And I ask you friend, what's a fella to do
If her hair was black and her eyes were blue
See I've traveled around I've been all over the world
I've never seen nothin' like a Sandpoint girl

[*song*]
"Oy! get offa me boxes! after tha ope'nin cerramonies is wen tha singin games take place!" an annoyed shopkeep tells you as you start making a ruckus...
Mayor Deverin of Sandpoint |
as if the Mayor Deverin had heard the shopkeep she calls for everyone's attention.
[you all will gradually shuffle toward the square in front of the church]
and standing upon the newly built stage is the mayor
"welcome everyone! are you all ready to start the festival?" she cheerily announces, to a crowd who unanimously agree.
"well, seeing as everyone... including Larz Rovanky has managed to tear themselves away from their work to attend" Scattered laughter ensues and Larz himself turns red "everyone listen to the other three welcoming speeches and have a nice time."
the mayor waves and steps aside to give center stage to Sheriff Belor Hemlock
Sheriff Hemlock of Sandpoint |
Sheriff Hemlock nods and slowly takes the stage, his worn armor shining dully and his mark of office, the sheriff's badge, gleaming
"I hate to ruin all of your fun, but I would like you all to remember to be safe 'round the fire tonight"
the bonfire lit in the evening will be the source of warmth and light for the nights festivities
he pauses and then asks everyone to take a moment of silence for those who lost their lives in the fire that burned the old church to the ground.
he then procedes to announce that "the third speaker, Lonjiku Kaijitsu, has taken ill suddenly, and he will not be attending, so instead Cyrdak Drokkus will speak next"
Death_Keeper |
Cyrdak's speech brings the crowd up into high spirits again as he tells of the building and financing of the new church, (with many raunchy anecdotes and sidestories) and finishes up by announcing that everyone is invited to the production of "The Harpy's Curse" at the Sandpoint Theater tomorrow night
Flint Rustboro |
Flint sticks his thumbs through his belt and listens with interest to the people, taking less amusement from the third one's less wholesome sidebars.
A small group of children round the paladin and goad him into a game of tug of war with them.
He takes the place on one side with all the children on the other. He begins to put up a fight, but let's the children work the knot over to their side in the end.
Pretending to be winded he stands and brushes his armour off.
"You are all very very strong!," he says to them.
With a chorus of yells they run off to play in the rest of the festival and he examines the wares of the vendors.
He passes a cart with individual butterfly's in small cages.
He gives the vendor a gold piece for one and keeps it for the release later.
Cale Vatay |
Cale goes through all the games he lays his eyes on and does better at some than others
he was less than impressive at the weight lifting and other displays of strength
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 he did well on the balance beams though he nearly fell once or twice
got covered in mud trying to tie down the pig which he then cleaned off with a few castings of a cantrip
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 did quite well juggling a variety of objects even mixing it up by throwing in some dancing lights
he threw darts he entertained small children with tiny fireworks made of his magic and generally had a grand old time.
Reda beliss |
reda's scilence and lack of preticipation at the event made her nearly invisible, just another insignificant being amongst the crowd. She watched many events, and eventually decided to participate in one. She plays a game of strength, doing quite well. Yet, people have now noticed her, and keep away from the strange woman wielding a weapon at this holy festival. She sighs and slides back into the crowd, hoping to fade out once again.
Eldon Underbough |
Eldon's generally serious demeanor does not lend itself well to the festival, but he does smile occasionally at the talk of the completion of the new church and at a few of the stories Cyrdak had told, but in general the halfling remains quiet and removed from the crowds, preferring to watch the joy from outside and so experience the same joy himself that their community was strong and full of life. He plays none of the games. He especially notes with some approval the actions of a few of the people who are not residents of Sandpoint. (Flint, and Cale in particular)
Eldon does note with some concern the woman with a blade bared. He wasn't one to speak overmuch, considering he used his reaping tool as both a weapon and a walking stick, but still. It concerned him, self-appointed Warden that he was. He knew it was Hemlock's jurisdiction, but perhaps a mixture of curiosity and danger sense leads him to talk to the woman.
"Hail." he says to Reda, the almost-meter-tall halfling apporaching her from the front, openly and with only a loose grip on the reaping weapon in his hand, non threatening in demeanor. "I am Eldon Underbough. I certainly hope you are enjoying the festival, and have no plans to cause trouble?" After a moment, there's a pointed glance at the bladed arm, then Eldon's eyes return up to meet Reda's.
Fulito_Ferrywarden |
Fulito steps down, You sir, have no appreciation for good song. this will be duely notted in the chronicle I am prepareing for the Pathfinder lodge in Magnimar.
he pulls out his journal and a pen. a little lick of the tip he begins to scribble in the journal your name sir he inquires and glancing toward the name of the shop he jots that down as well.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
when finished with the shopkeeper Fulito dismisses his summoned guitar and heads to the square to hear the speaches and makes some notes in his journal. he deftly doges several of the larger folks of the crowd as he meanders his way toward the front.

I sleep all day, working night shift and most of my posting is at night. Fulito will do more I just want to give other a chance to interact first but he will be playing another song...see next post once composed (need to find his song)
Fulito_Ferrywarden |
after a meal and some time ensureing Flim is tended to...
Well now boy lets go see what else this place has to offer.
Fulito heads toward the festivities catching some other performers and games of chance
as he wanders about grabbing munchie after munchie never to be seen without some piece of food in his hand.
He eventually finds a spot where several people are milling about. but what actaully cathes his eye is a woman with a sword.
now that is interesting indeed, why have a weapon drawn at a festival? will have to ask her should the oppurtunity arrise. in any event it is time to make some coin, as it would seem my pounch is a bit too light.
Fulito pulls his "magical Harmonica" from his pocket and plays a little blues melody
perform harmonica: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 2 = 13
after his song he holds out his hat hoping to earn few coin for his effort.
Fulito_Ferrywarden |
The food isn't out yet... lunch is upcoming
A few of the townspeople applaud and you collect 14 coppers and 3 silver
A child eyes shining offers the short man an apple
[ooc] does not matter, he looks around for anything he can find to eat. snatch here or there from vendors offering samples of what is to come for lunch.
empting the coin into his hand he starts to count when the boy offers the apple.
Well thank you young lad. Flim will be most appreciative of this gift. he says this indicating his pony.
Fulito Ferrywarden, bard of the River Kingdoms, and Chronicler of all i observe. he gives a bow, And what name shall I give to the noble lad that has so generously fed the needy, and appeased the masses with thier generosity.
after a moment Fulito realizes he may have spoken a bit above the poor lad. In short boy, what is your name
Fulito_Ferrywarden |
Hearing the clapping Fulito puts his arm around the boy that gave him an apple.
it would seem you have garnered the favor of an elf. A noble race indeed. you do know that they say, you will never find a friend more loyal than an elf, to befriend and elf is to have a friend for two lifetimes.
giving the boy a silver coin for the apple (taken from his earnings)
he approaches the elf
they also say the noble elf nations are among the most generous of all the lands he says holding his hat out.
Cale Vatay |
"I was talking more of your performance, but what the child did was also admirable, my father was also a performer, and as such I have an ear for such, and you are an admirable performer"
Flint Rustboro |
The man in the very brightly shining armor drops a gold piece in the halfling's hat, as polished and bright as the armor he wears.
"Very good music, I have to say. If you don't mind my asking, are you of those that work magic with your song?"
His voice is deep, but not very much so and sounds kind.
The man is tall for a human and you have the feeling he could strike an imposing figure if he was so inclined. It just so happens, at this moment, he is not inclined to do so and has a soft smile about him the makes him comforting to look towards.
Fulito_Ferrywarden |
You hear that Aeren? we shall be famous. Fulito boasts happy to have at least one admirer of his talents.
looking to the boy have you ever been a party of a mobile band?
he looks to the elf same question to good sir
if not then no matter, you shall today! he adds with excitement not even relly waiting for a reply.
I shall begin and as we move among the crowd encourage others to join in with whatever instrument they can. And you my fine apprentice indicating Aeren, shall take this hat and recive the gifts of the generous patrons of the arts this town has to offer
and with a quick gesture of his hands a fiddle materializes in his hands.
fulito plays a tune leading the others in a makeshift parade to encourage others to join in the fun.
he begins by encouraging the lady with the black sword to join in, she did lok so sour after all.

as I said in discussion I respond at the wrong time
before the mobile band parade if you pleaselooking to the armored fellow.
I must say today is full of surprises. you see youg Aeren, a knight, most noble and majestic has shown his appreciation. to be admired by both elf and knight, my Lilly would be so proud
Fulito takes the gold coin and gives it a flip and into his pouch it goes.
then with another bow.
in case you were not present at my introduction before allow me to present myself. Fulito Ferrywarden, Bard of the River Kingdoms. and Aeren, Sandpoint's finest musical apprentice
fulito would entice the knight to join the parade. allowing the summoning of his fiddle answer the question of using magic

The boy shakes his head in awe...
Then follows the group laughing and clapping
I assume this entourage continues until noon? ApApprox 45mins?
Eldon Underbough |
As is apparently his M.O., Eldon continues to watch and enjoy the festival from outside, enjoying seeing others happy rather than being in and among the crowd himself. He does wish that Bira was here with him for companionship, but it would be unwise to bring her here. Too many people and she tended to become territorial.

actually the fiddle only lasts for a short while so he will swap to his harmonica after the fiddle song is through.
the mobile band continues among the crowds with the boy pan handling for coin. as they go.
Once the fiddle song is done the fiddle vanishes in thin air and with a quick count as Fulito pulls out his harmonica. then suddenly there is accompaniment music seemingly from nowhere and he goes into some Boogie Woogie sounds
