It would be 1.5k gold for each of us, though, for the lesser Merciful Metamagic Rods, and it would only be up to 3 nonlethal spells per day, which, at first level, might be enough for a single mage's duel, but might not.
Still ... what do you think, GM? Do the monks of the monastery have any of these we could borrow for training practice? :)

4 stones would be needed, since each one has 25% chance of working. So 2500 gp. Maybe at level 4/5?

Just use 2 rods. Or use the rod at the third or fourth spell. Also, the most dangerous thing is your shocking grasp, when you crit and you get two 6s. It's not enough to bring any of you from <1 to the death. And I believe that Mhar can spontaneously cast Cure *** wounds, so no worries.

A Mage dual between Thorrpe and Jezelyn would probably either be a series of his acid splashes vs. her frost rays at range, or he might possibly enlarge himself and move in to whack her with his mace, at which point she would attempt to shocking grasp him. Now, if Shadow was allowed to participate and flank Jez, that would be really tough for her. She's not built for melee. Her heavenly fire ability could heal herself a bit once, but it couldn't hurt Thorrpe or Shadow since they're not evil. :)

I don't think it is dead, poor Spirit is out of juice and it is the 4th of July Weekend. I am sure there are people who have moved on so a roll call is probably needed. Like we had for Day 1, I would prefer to see a Day 2 status report of what we have accomplished or not.

Lol, our own DM reporting in. I don't mind moving forward but you mentioned that we would have 6 training sessions and get some sort of boon from each. What will happen to those? Also, things have gotten a little slow yes, but I am still willing to stick around. I think the problem is we haven't been given enough information about the situation we are in and in the year that we have advanced forward I think we would get something. Otherwise we don't have much to talk about except mock battles.

I was enjoying the training myself but probably should have had time limits for player responses before they are GM controlled since we are such a large group and maybe have no adventuring during training such as the dark hole.

EDIT: Oh, hey, everybody, you've got your specialized crafted-for-you-exclusively armor, now. It's nicely stylized and everything. :D
EDIT 2: This post and especially this post provide details: go to the second post and choose the armor you want; if you're a caster who normally suffers spell-failure, it's just a haramaki armor (+1 AC, no max DEX, no check penalty, no spell failure, 1 lb, full speed); even if you're not proficient with armor, it doesn't matter: no check-penalty means no penalty. Maximum armor I could make for anyone is the +7 variant. Notably, I'd have about 1,776 gold and 5 silver value-worth of stuff to play around with after a year of craftwork (spending about 156 days making the armor for us), with 638 (at maximum, unless everyone wanted +7 armors for some unfathomable reason) of that value is consumed in the armor-making process, netting about 1,138.5 g profit. That's about +81 gold for each of you (presuming 14 active players, mostly equally distributed), and +85 gold and 5 silver for me. :D

Of my funds, I'm planning on putting 100% into our small community. Hence, I don't have any "extra" cash from this. It's not much, but it's a start! Said "excess wealth" goes directly into paying for materials, food, and similar expenses to assist everyone in growing a thriving community. Enjoy!

EDIT Again: It should be noted, that I'm using the absolute minimum under any reasonable request. Presuming that people generally stick with the armors they're proficient with (or that maximize their stat blocks), I went with the most expensive value possible. In other words, I presumed Zayne and Rai got the +7, everyone but the three casters got the +5 (as it's the second-most expensive), and Jez/Ysa/Thorrpe got the haramaki. Actually, upon re-reading it, presuming the +5 is not actually all that reasonable: if you're not going for the medium armor, you're probably going for (at most) the +3. Hm. Instead of adding the gold or saying what you do with it yet, just tell me which of the armors you'd ask for: that'll change our craft time and hence the value that I generate for our community.

In fact, if the community doesn't mind, I'll actually spend 110 of the 165.5 gold on both masterwork tattoo and masterwork armor crafting stuff. Sadly, that only leaves 55.5 invested, but I think you guys would be okay with that?

Also, none of the armor is masterwork: I just don't have the time. Just use the linked stats, though those should be superior to most available armor of any similar defense.

Vem, I'm guessing you want the +4, honestly. It's a +4 max DEX bonus, so you may want the +3 instead to get the +5 max DEX bonus later at the expense of a +1 AC right now, but that's up to you! And honestly, you don't have to plan that far ahead: I should be able to bang a +3 out for you in the future, if you like. Quick Plot:

Player1 kills BBEG, looks for loot: "What I find?"
DM:"**Random Loot**... and a Deck of Many Things."
Player1:"F*** yeah, I draw 3 cards!"

Player1:"Just give me the cards."
Player1 draws 3 cards. Void, Donjon and Ruin. (Not in this order).
DM laughs. A lot. He doesn't stop. I was that DM, and still, after 4 hours, I can't stop laughing.
Player1 still hadn't said a single word.
