You all arrive with trade caravan, in the small town of Belhaim. A minor trading town in north central Taldor. As you all enter the town, you see it's rather late.
Around you, you see a few small shops, the Wise Piper Inn, and a rather large manor on the far end of town.
That is what you right away anyway
Irlana Songmaiden |
As the caravan comes to a stop, Irlana, weary from the trip, hops around to the others and smiles. "Say, how about we head over to the pub for something to drink and eat? I want to see if they have anyone doing music there or if they are like the last stop and all 'oh we're all gloomy here'."
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Daelendross stretches and yawns, and nods to Irlana. "Seems as good if an idea as any other. I, for one, am tired of walking, and can use a rest."
He turns to the massive wolf-like creature at his side.
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
Bazogobergoban snarls at Daelendross, but nods in annoyance.
He growls and shows his fangs, but doesn't move aggressively to anyone.
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"Yeah, so...my...uh...puppy...is hungry. We should definitely get some food."
He grabs a child's wrist as it goes to pet the creature.
"No. He's not a nice puppy. Don't pet! For the love of whatever you believe in, do not pet the puppy!"
Ciaran Maelgwynn |
Ciaran stretches and flexes his muscles after a long journey, then carefully counts the assortment of amulets, wristbands and other paraphernalia adorning his body. "Five... Eleven... Seventeen! All set!"
"I could use some fresh cider; though if the last five taverns are anything to go by, I'll have to settle for the sour grape syrup people call wine in these parts."
He regards his partner's feral companion with a mix of revulsion and curiosity.
"Can you not send your, um, dog to its, um, kennel while we're in town? Did it ever tell you what it is like?"
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"I can. I won't. He won't touch anyone unless I tell him to. Did it ever tell me what what is like?"
I'm guessing with your knowledge planes score you can tell right off what Bazo is
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
The quadruped stops when Daelendross glares at it.
"Stop calling me dog, mortal. The blue weakling can do so. You have not been given permission."
Daelendross really looks pissed now. The eidolon grins.
"I'm not killing, or attacking anyone, and I'm right next to you. I obeyed your every word."
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Daelendross facepalms. I hate you so much.
"Shut up, talking dog, or I swear I will offer rides on you with a saddle through towns and have children petting you for copper pieces after I dress you up in a pink tutu and put bows in your hair!"
Daelendross turns to the others. "Sorry about that. He needs to learn who's boss some days. He will not be out of line anymore. To the inn?"
flykiller RPG Superstar Season 9 Top 32 |
I suppose, if we count it as a CR1 rare outsider that'd be a DC 16 to identify which I can beat on take 10
" Did it ever tell me what what is like?"
"Its home. Whatever layer of the Abyss it comes from. Does it ever get homesick while here on Golarion? Does it miss you while back there?"
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
"Its home. Whatever layer of the Abyss it comes from. Does it ever get homesick while here on Golarion? Does it miss you while back there?"
"Do I miss him? With every attack so far."
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"One more word out of you and I'm making good on the tutu threat!"
A 'harumph' is heard from the eidolon, but it quiets down.
"Hm...I see you've got a keen eye for planars. Yes, he is a demon, but he is bonded to obey my commands. He doesn't tell me much about his layer, but he seems to enjoy his time here. People do not like the drow blooded, even if my father was human. I get attacked, occasionally. I allow Bazgo free reign when it comes to those who have raised hand to me. He enjoys destruction, and doesn't care of whom. Fight evil with controlled evil, I say."
You posted with your core name and not alias, flykiller.
Irlana Songmaiden |
Irlana, having found the back and forth going on amusing until the mention of demons. Having paid the "puppy" little mind during the short trip, she looks the man and bound creature over.
"I hope for your sake and others this binding you speak of is proper and genuine. I fear for the onnocents that could be lost, controlled evil or no. Hopefully you find someone who paints a mural of love on your heart, brightening your soul."
Then, with a wide a goofy grin, she turns towards the nearest tavern. "Come! I thirst for cider!"
GM_IamZero000 |
As you all head for the Wise piper Inn, you notice the tradesman you came in with is arrested.
Upon entering the Tavern, it's small and quaint, several tables scattered about, a small fireplace, a small silvery lizard behind the bar, and a rather tall woman with feathered white wings sitting at a table near the door. Everything seems rather peaceful.
Knowledge nature for the bartender, planes for the Woman if you want more information
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Daelendross thinks back to the first time he summoned the demon Bazogobergoban...
"No. Nobody innocent has ever died to this thing...."
He looks to the demon, which is grinning at that statement. "Well, not since I summoned him, at least. If anything, as long as he is with me, someone else isn't summoning him for some other foul purpose, so even when I'm not turning him against a villain, by omission, summoning him is in of itself an act of good, if you think about it."
Keep telling yourself that, Daelendross. You're no better than the demon.
He shakes out of his daydreaming. "Yeah...um...love. Let's get you that cider."
He heads into bar and looks over at the bartender and the woman.
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
GM_IamZero000 |
You can tell she is some kind of Angel or Archon, but something seems off about her.You notice her hands end in claws, an unusual feature. Despite being young you see she bares much wisdom.
you notice an odd symbol on her forehead but cannot figure out it's meaning.
In addition to dc 15 information you know the following
You can tell she is an eidolon, the odd features and the symbol marking her as one. You also notice a similar symbol on the bartender. you can tell he is her summoner.
You know he is a Kobold, though his silver scales are an oddity. though folded up you weak wings on his.
In addition to prior information
you have heard of rarities known as metallic scaled Kobolds, legends say they are known to be Redeemed, meaning they have once learned and served metallic dragons
Ciaran Maelgwynn |
Oops, sorry about the alias
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Ciaran grins in agreement with Daelendross' statement.
"Indeed, a most peculiar situation. I would suggest standing between those two and making a wish... Had I not known this hollow superstition for what it is.
Still, by the looks of it, apparently the publican has gathered more favor with the planes than you have.", he adds with a wink.
Irlana Songmaiden |
Looking at the kobold, Irlana's eyes get even wider. "Oh, right, yes! Cider please! Looking around the establishment, she raises an eyebrow. "Sir kobold, are you the owner?" Like a child almost, the halfling gives the kobold a bright smile as she asks her questions.
GM_IamZero000 |
The silvery Kobold smiles, Cider for the young Halfing, Water for the young elf. Fetching a small glass bottle of cider, fresh and sweet smelling putting it down in front of Irlana. Walking over to a small chest filled with ice, he pulls out a large flask of water pouring it into a glass and handing it to Daelendross.
he puts together a plate of pastries putting it near the group. I am indeed the owner, and this is on the house. You are the first visitors we have had in quite a while.
Irlana Songmaiden |
Smiling and taking the cider, Irlana looks the place over before looking back. "First in a while? Are the people here not friendly with you?" Taking a big sip of her drink she then reaches for the pastries, nabbing one and quickly devouring it.
GM_IamZero000 |
Me? no, on the contrary most people like me. The trade routes that pass through are only a minor ones and there have been a few issues going on in the area lately, making the routes not worth the travel The silver reptilian begins polishing glasses, humming a tune under his breathe
Ciaran Maelgwynn |
"Hey, could I get some of that cider too?"
Having received his glass, Ciaran holds it in front of his face for a moment, looking around trough it as if it was a stained glass, and his gaze pauses on the winged woman for a moment.
"We haven't encountered any major trouble along the road, in fact our employer seems to have gotten himself into bigger trouble here. What are these local issues?"
Daelendross Phaernemn |
"Considering a kobold is manning the bar speaking to us and not being chased by a mob with pitchforks and torches, I'd say, no, it's probably not that serious."
Daelendross smiles and sips at his drink.
Azruk-Hal |
So that was your caravan the guards are harassing? A figure looms into view from the doorway, casting a considerable shadow inside of the barroom. The over-sized lizard walks into the room without much grandeur, a low thud following his steps.
Here I thought I could hitch a ride out of this hole. I've been stuck here for just a day and I'm already out of things to do. And fight.
GM_IamZero000 |
in an instant the ground begins to shakes and a loud sound in the distance can be heard.
You recognize the sound is less earthquake and more massive landslide.
In addition anyone who steps outside to look notices notices a huge plume of dust rising to the northeast.
A guard bursts into the tavern yelling Witch Tower has fallen! Dozens of Kobolds have been found dead
Azruk-Hal |
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Hey, lunch! He glances at his current company.
I, uh. I, mean, I was joking. *ahem* That sounded like a mudslide. Changing the subject.
GM_IamZero000 |
the Kobold bartender moves from behind the bar over to the winded guardsman, Very good soldier, inform the other guardsman if you haven't already and secure the scene.
Yes sir,,The young guard moves quickly out the door.
As far as i know just an old tower, it seems odd that it would collapse now although Archae has been asking for it to be removed for the last few years now. If you all would be willing to do me the favor of investigating the incident. I could see something be in it for you say 500 gold pieces.
Azruk-Hal |
Eh, still pretty good. I got nothin better to do. Anyone else going?
Even given his immense size, Azruk doesn't move in a way you might call lumbering. He leaves the bar to investigate.
They can come. Or they can choose not. I get the feeling they will though, no need to push.
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Daelendross shrugs, puts his water down and stands up.
"Gold is gold. Let's move, Bazo."
He follows the lizardfolk, thinking nothing of his unusual species, himself being from the Darklands and all.
"So, are you like some giant troglodyte that got his scent gland removed or something? Because you smell considerably less unpleasant than the ones I've encountered."
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
As soon as they step outside of the bar, Bazogobergoban speaks. "He still smells like an unwashed pile of my crap. And no tutu for me, little boy blue, I was silent in the bar. We're outside, now, the walking gecko is fair game."
Azruk-Hal |
As soon as they step outside of the bar, Bazogobergoban speaks. "He still smells like an unwashed pile of my crap. And no tutu for me, little boy blue, I was silent in the bar. We're outside, now, the walking gecko is fair game."
Ya know what? I'm gonna take that as a compliment. Act- Azruk responds to Dael before being cut off.
He turns to look at the Eidolon and looks quizzically, then smiles widely. A little too
toothy, and starts a deep, quiet laugh.
...
heh heh heh ha ha ha ah ha ha ha! Hoo, that's amazing! I thought you just had a diseased wolf, but it talks! And tells jokes.
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
The eidolon looks to his master. "Is he laughing at me? Can I eat him?" The half-drow shakes his head silently.
"I hate all of you, and I want to kill something soon, damnit. It's been like nine hours since that raccoon. What? He was rummaging in your garbage, that counts as defending your property!"
Ciaran Maelgwynn |
Ciaran sighs heavily as he leaves a half-empty glass on the table. He takes a look at the scaly bartender.
"Why were your kin in the Witch Tower? Is there a kobold diaspora in this town? Aren't you going to check the site out too?"
GM_IamZero000 |
Believe it or not, Not all kobolds are allies we war and fight as much as you humans do. I am now anyway of the silver tribes, to most of my kin I am how you would say a heathen for following one of the metallic dragons, there are no others in this town. Physically i am not the most capable, which is why I have Anya she will check out and man the site for me, however she herself cannot venture very far away from me as we are bound by the soul. He says referring to the silent angelic woman.
As for why they were in there i cannot say, there is Archae, he has been asking for the tower to be removed for quite some time, but i have had to deny him. He might know more of the situation but has not been heard of for a few days now. He looks briefly at the winged woman who has now risen and is walking out the door without a word
Ciaran Maelgwynn |
"Nothing is ever simple, I see. Let us go and see what's left of the tower for ourselves then, maybe there's a clue as to what those kobolds were up to."
Ciaran follows the winged woman out of the bar and joins the rest of the party.
Irlana Songmaiden |
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Jumping at the noise, Irlana was unsure what was going on until she hears people shouting. "W-Witch Tower? You want us to go to a place that sounds like it comes out of an Irrisen horror story?"
Looking out to see if anyone is injured and running away from where the incident happened, her ears to perk up at the mention of gold.
"W-well... I guess maybe we can go and see if anyone is hurt. I know a spell or two that can help if so." Picking up her glaive, she shoulders it though a slight twitch is seen in her hands.
"Shall you lead the way Ciaran?"
GM_IamZero000 |
You all arrive at the scene of the incident A small crowd has gathered around the rubble of the collapsed tower. Only fragments of the first and second floors still stand. Black stone and broken wooden debris lie scattered down the hill's southeastern slope, and a rocky ramp of sorts leads up to the tower's second floor.
Though the tower's ancient iron front door remains in place, all the rubble blocking it from the other side prevents anyone from using it to
enter the tower.
An enormous heap of cracked stone and splintered wood
from the tower lies in a low mound here, tumbled partially
down the hill to the southeast. The mound of rubble forms a
natural ramp that leads up to the now-exposed second floor
of the tower above.
A successful DC 15 Knowledge (engineering) check made while investigating the rubble reveals two things. First of all, the bulk of the tower seems to have crumbled into a sinkhole (although from this vantage point it's impossible to tell how much of the basement survived). Second, the rubble is unstable, and could shift if not
traversed carefully.
Need to get a map set up, i'll have one for tommorow for now it's not that important
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
"I see nothing to kill. This bores me. You should've killed the kobold and taken his money. You make me sick. I am going to take a dump on his floor when we get back. No, I know my body doesn't require it, as I don't really digest the things I consume, and eating has no purpose other than pleasure for me, but I will do so for no other reason than to establish my dominance."
The demon snarls and bears his fangs as he looks around the tower site for something to kill.
Daelendross Phaernemn |
Ignoring his eidolon, Daelendross looks around. "So are we supposed to find a way in, or the cause of the collapse, or just walk back and say 'yep, it fell, where's our money' or what?"
He rolls his eyes at the demon's rant. "I need to get you a hobby or something. Something constructive."
Bazgobergoban, Demonic Eidolon |
"I am a living embodiment of destruction, chaos personified, entropy formed and given shape...and you want me to do something constructive? I hate you SO very much. I would rescue seven children destined to grow up and become paladins if it meant I could bite you only once."
GM_IamZero000 |
The tower has a pathway leading from the second floor further into the tower, the basement may require further examination to get to the root of this problem. Your demon is adorable by the way... Anya speaks ups finally, subtly mocking the other eidolon.
