The party ties up their kobold captives and presses on...
Room B16: The shaft from B15 descends to this empty cave.
Room B17: The ceiling at the center of this cave is twelve feet high. A crude idol stands in the middle of the cave, decorated with grisly strips of dried viscera. A kobold's laughter echoes throughout this portion of the cavern.
We're in initiative, again! You don't know what's up or where the laughter is coming from (because of the echoing cavern).
Ethendril h'Caramore |
Ethendril moves forward cautiously, looking for the source of the laughter.
"Show yourself," he says. "I am sure we can work this out peacefully."

Sensing Harlis' discomfort at this place Daylight stamps a few times shifting uneasily as Harlis holds up his blade. The sword blessed by Iomedae shedding bright light over the chamber he looks around for the cleric to whatever foul deity resides here.
Looking around, and pay attention to what the statue is dedicated to.

Agnes delays. Three sets of bones rise from the ground and these skeletons attack the party:
Ethendril:
Claw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4, Miss!

Ethendril jumps forward after dispatching a skeleton and unleashes an attack at the kobold cleric.
"Now!" he yells to Wayreth, hoping the rogue will attack the cleric from behind.

Hotspur the Unsettled |
Hotspur thinks about what she would do were she not held.
Harlis Underbough |
Being blocked in and unable to see what is happening in the rest of the room properly Harlis urges Daylight to see if the iron shod hooves can dispatch the unholy foe before him.

Assuming the skeleton goes down here, 5' move further in the room .
As Daylight tramples foward into the room with splintering bones this allows Harlis to see Hotspurs plight. "Fight the spell Hotspur! Push your will against you bonds by Iomedae's grace!". The blade of Iomedae dims as he drops it into the room so that a simple vial can be drawn and thrown at the last undead that threatens.

GM Engleaktig |
Harlis' mount destroys a skeleton.
Harlis finishes the other with holy water.
Wayreth hurst the cleric.
Agnes flares the cleric 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 but to no avail.
Hostpur is still held.
The cleric takes a five-foot-step, holds her unholy symbol tightly, and channels: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
Agnes Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19, take 4 HP damage

Wayreth Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12, take 4 HP damage
Uh oh. This fight just got nasty.
Harlis Underbough |
Harlis cries out as Hotspur collapses under the savagery of the evil gods wrath, he grits his teeth and pauses a moment while reaching for his holy symbol. "Nighttail, you should be supporting your allies here." he barks out quickly.
Delaying until just before the kobold cleric, who is hopefully down before Harlis channels healing it and buffing its AC.
Hotspur the Unsettled |
Hotspur had 11 hp max and has taken 13 in this encounter, so counting thru 0 I think that puts her at -1. Let me know if I'm off on that.
Stabilize attempt: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Ethendril h'Caramore |
Ethendril moves to counter the cleric, but the waves of negative energy coursing through his body make it difficult for him to stand, let alone wield his blade effectively.
"Stay behind him, Wayreth!" the paladin calls to the rogue.

Bah! Good grief, I can't hit anything here!
Ethendril nearly doubles over as the negative energy continues coursing through him.

That's enough to start shooting with. Thanks, everybody!
@GM: do I have a clear shot at the evil cleric from where I am?
Harlis Underbough |
Looking around as his companions are struck repeatedly by the power of the evil priest Harlis again calls for Iomedae's supplication for a last time.
Channel Divinity: 1d3 ⇒ 1 Healing, +1 AC, +1 charge rolls.
He then moves up behind the statue to circle to Ethandril, reaching for his scroll of healing. He looks back at his blade laying in the dirt shining light into the room and hopes to get to hold it again in his deities name.
Meanwhile, Daylight attacks the creature causing him injuries.

Hotspur the Unsettled |
Jury Duty tomorrow so, I'm posting my attack now.
Hotspur shoots at the cleric...
ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand that barrel jams again.
Harlis Underbough |
After seeing Daylight smash into the cleric and then the evil priest crumple under the skillful attack from Wayreth Harlis sighs and wipes his brow.
"We are all direly hurt from the assault, but from what Nighttail says our toughest fight is may still ahead. I have no healing available except the scroll I purchased and these three potions. Should we consume them and press onwards or retreat to fight another day?" He looks at Nighttail to also see if she has further input into the developments.
I believe our HP are: Ethentril 5/16, Harlis 7/12, Daylight 3/14, Agnes 1/8, Wayreth 6/9 and Hotspur 3/11 prior to use of the up to 4 CLW items
.Wayreth. |
Wayreth wobbles a little as the cleric goes down.
"Phew...glad that's over. I don't think I would have been able to withstand another one of those channels. Heck, I'm surprised I'm still standing after two of those."
He turns to Nighttail.
"So...that was the cleric, and we still have the chief to deal with, correct? Also, I don't suppose you have any healing abilities, seeing as you were saying earlier that you could probably take on either the priest or the chief one-on-one?"
GM Engleaktig |
There might have been a tiny bit of bravado in her words.
"I've been tied up. I have only as much healing as is in my gear. I think it's best to take the chief now, before he can get organized."
Nighttail will provide 1 CLW for each member of the party who is still injured. Feel free to roll your own. Plus the cleric had three potions of CLW.
Harlis Underbough |
Harlis accepts the potion from Nighttail and thanks her with a nod. He turns to pull his scroll out to cast it upon Daylight to ease his wounds as well. "Thank you Nighttail, blessings upon you. What do you think we will face next? Is there just the chief himself and guards or is there more?" He then turns and fetches his sword from the ground, cleaning it and resummoning light upon it so that it fulls the chamber more fully again.
I assume by each member Daylight doesn't count so using up my scroll to heal my mount
Cure Light Harlis: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cure Light Daylight: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
.Wayreth. |
"Thanks, Nighttail. This will certainly help. And I agree. We should go for the chieftain as soon as possible. If he brings the entire tribe down on us, we won't last long with our limited supplies."
CLW potion: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
