Charged with a quest from the Ghost of their town founder, the heroes of Kassen must infiltrate a seedy temple dedicated to the living god Razmir in order to find clues to the whereabouts of a pair of amulets that were stolen from The Crypt of the Everflame.

Lector grunts in reply to Kaylee's suggestion, seemingly intent on going through with her plan. However, the detective freezes at the sight of the others assailing Krant, balking at their action.

  • Lorant mocks Krant which further provokes him into a rage.

    Krant slugs Lorant across the face for mocking him right before Lorant trips Krant. This does not go over well with the priests as they look back and forth at one another. One of the priests enters the temple as the other two take a defensive stance in front of the main entrance.

  • Elvar, being quite content with having acquired the mace for himself attacks Kaylee for insinuating a team-up with Lector against him.

    Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 Hit

    Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

  • Lector stands his ground.

    Retcon!:
    I made a small mistake. I calculated Krants last attack as if he was raging. The attack would have successfully hit regardless but should have delt 3 less damage to Kerret. This is corrected in the following "Summary".

    I'll keep my action the same. Does the new priest entering the courtyard look like an aggressor or like he or she is trying to peacefully break up the fight between Krant and the two others?

    I worded that poorly Kaylee. The priest exits the courtyard where you are to enter the temple. There is now one fewer priests watching over you.

    The shock of seeing Krant attacked wears off rather quickly once Elvar attacks Kaylee. Moving in for a flank if possible, Lector swings his sap at the man.

    Kerret concentrates again
    defensive cast: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 vs. DC 17, forgot to add trait bonus last time
    but the stress proves to great for him and he loses his spell. Lose 1 first level spell slot. Still prone, he attempts to scramble back away from Krant, providing a tempting target for the big man.

    I'm fairly certain Krant is prone right now so I don't think he can make an attack of opportunity right now. I could be wrong though, never had two prone characters next to each other.

    I'm pretty sure that he's prone too, which gives him a negative on his attack roll to go with my negative AC, but I don't think its stops him from getting an AoO. I may be about to enter a world of hurt.

    Seeing Elvar hit Kaylee, Lorant rushes up behind him and attacks him with the sap.

    • Vastar casts Bless and calls on the aid of Erastil. A beam of light shines down from the heavens and Swoop the Roc comes shrieking to the earth.

      I'm going to allow the animal companion. There is no celing in the courtyard.

    • Kaylee swings her sap at Elvar. The connecting blow leaves a large bruise across his shoulder. The combined attacks from Lorant and Kaylee are taking their toll on Elvar. He is looking weak.

    • Kerret falls pro9ne loosing the spell.

      Movement to G3 is not possible since you'd have to move through a fence. Will F4 work?

    • Lorant runs to Kaylees aid. The resulting sap blow knocks Elvar unconscious.

    • Lector flanks Krant with Kerret Assuming kerret moves to F4 and lands a blow on Krant. Krant is unhappy.

    • Krant stands up as a full round action and 5 foot steps to G6.

    • Priest 1 and 2 move to the bottom of the steps and each draw Rapiers. They hold their ground for the moment to see how the situation plays out.

    Looks like the mace is available and right next to Lorant.

    Instinctively, I understand my bond with the over-sized bird and send it in to harrass Krant.

    Then I call on Erastil to bind our foe casting Hold Person on Krant: DC15.

    I should be standing next to Elvar already after hitting him with the sap.

    Kaylee reaches down and grabs the morningstar and tosses it to Lorant. "Catch!" she tells him.
    "Krant likes to pick on people smaller than he is, you should show him how it feels to be the small one." she says mostly to herself as she casts enlarge person on Lorant.

    F4 is fine.

    Kerret stands up and takes a step to the north E4 before once more unleashing his inner fire, this time focusing on Krant's flunkies. His firey lash whips out, striking the first, then bouncing to the second and back onto Krant before the spell's potency is exhausted.

    Priest at 9F: 7d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 6, 5, 6, 4, 2, 6) + 7 = 39 fire damage, DC 17 reflex for half

    • Vastar's prayers are answered. A shiny new bird companion swoops from the heavens to Vastar's aid and successfully attacks Krant.

      Vastar then proceeds to cast Hold Person on Krant.

      It does not affect him.

    • Kaylee Passes the Heavy Mace to Lorant and then starts the process of enlarging him.

    Lorant catches the heavy mace from Kaylee and drops his sap. His face changes from the dangerous game they were playing to serious combat. He grips the weapons in two hand and swings it with deadly force at Krant. "Let's see how you like being on the end of a beating!"

    Deeming the operation unsalvageable, Lector decides to fall in line with the others. Spinning around, he swings his club at Krant, only to fumble the sap terribly.

    • Rhomelus almost looses his balance but catches it at the last moment.

    • Krant realizes that Kerret has moved just too far out of his attack range and focuses his rage on the man with the Heavy Mace.

    • Vastar cures Kerrets wounds while The Bird viciously attacks Krant, hitting with every attack.

    • Kaylee gangs up on Krant also, successfully smacking him with her sap.

    • Priest 1 rushes to Krants side and attacks Vastars animal companion.

    Gritting his teeth at his failure to hit Krant and Lorant's subsequent fall, Lector takes a step off to the side, mumbling something under his breath. He then flicks his hand towards Krant with a sharp gesture.

    I move forward and stabilise Kaylee with my sacred touch while talking to the remaining priest.

    "We all know this is Krant's fault. Just tell us where our things are being kept and we'll leave. Nobody needs to die here."

    Swoop is alert and ready to attack if the man makes an aggressive action or goes for his rapier.

    Kerret casts mage hand and brings the priest's rapier into Rhomelus' grasp.

    Listen to my friend, he's trying to help you.

    The Priest drops his rapier as a result of Vastar's magic spell and Kerret swipes it away from him with another. The Priest knows he is unarmed and outnumbered. He puts his arms in the air as a sign of surrender.

    "I'll only tell you on the condition that you let me back into the temple unharmed." the Priest replies.

    Of course, Kerret lies. No reason we can't all walk away from this.

    bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

    Ready action to cast ear-piercing scream if he bolts.


    The Priest slowly makes his way backward, arms still stretched in the air toward the door of the temple.

    Kerret casts his spell, a silent roar, only audible to the retreating priest.

    sonic: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 and dazed for 1 round. DC 16 fort save for half damage and negate dazed condition.


    Priest Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 FAIL!

    The priest recoils back from the spell and falls to the ground unconscious and bleeding out.

    As soon as the Priest drops to the ground a bell sounds over the temple (like church bells). The alarm has been raised..

    I thought I didn't need stabilization checks since Vastor used his Sacred Touch ability.


    It never really came up so I though't I'd ask for it. If thats the case ignore my request.

    Vastar, Rhomelus, can you two get Kaylee and Lorant up and moving? Kerret keeps his voice low, but the urgency strains through as he casts a spell, sheathing himself in shimmering scales of force.

    He stoops and begins going through Krant and the other priest's robes, looking for anything useful.


    "You could have let him tell us where our gear is, first," Lector says firmly, though he complies with Kerret's request. The detective kneels down by Lorant, laying a hand down over his wound. "At any rate, things are about to get really busy."

    i don't have selective channeling. Once they're up we can move into a corner and I'll do some better healing.

    Lorant's eyes bolt open and he frantic looks around before seeing no threats. "Ugh," he groans as he gets to his feet. "You were able to bring them all down? I'm impressed. Now what? We need to find our equipment. And maybe we should search the place. You think there are more coming?"
