Male Aasimar Oracle(Planar and Possessed) lvl 1 Barbarian(Urban) lvl 1 Total lvl 2

Xeros calls back to Fealix for his thoughts on the trail.

Voice:

Wonder why he wants to talk to me about the trail? I have no survival skills. Hehe

"He was talking to me. Your to funny I forgot to laugh." Fealix walks up to Xeros.
Whisper to Xeros:

"I am rather fond of death to a nation, but that doesn't seem the sort of mood setter the party wants at the moment. I would be content for some silence. Hell knows I don't get much of that these day." Fealix says that looking up as though someone was sitting on his head.

Voice:

You know you'd miss me if I went quiet for too long.

Whispers around Xeros:

"Define long."

Voice:

Hehehehe

Being a possessed Oracle is so much fun

"No I'm sure you won't want to come across and big scary things, I sure I don't either. Just try to keep out of trouble." as memories come back when Andwell 'fell' into a pit when they had gone fishing as youngsters. I mean the pit was miles away from where they had started fishing, and all Andwell had said was, 'I won't be a minute, watch my line'. He never did say what he was doing, just he'd seen something and got a bit lost. Lost in thought Tavrvinda walks on.

Tarvinda smiles as she sees the two friends ahead, under her breath she talks to herself, "There see those two are friends, that's bound to make Fealix feel a bit better." She gives a cheery wave to the two out front. As the trees close in and they move into deeper forest, Tarvinda says to the singing group, "We'd best do as Xeros says and keep it a bit quiet now." She herself seems more alert to the possible dangers, making her sword easily accessible. "He said our sweet voices might attract unwelcome attention."

Neculai with a flourish of the hand and a few mumbled words, points to Xeros.

Whisper to Xeros, DC 25 perception check for those near:
"How are you guys doing up there? Found anything interesting?"

Has anyone seen our wizard around, he hasn't posted in a few days it seems...and this next part is only fun if he's there.

Fealix and Xeros you guys see a clearing coming up ahead. Make me a perception check(just Fealix and Xeros)

Male Tiefling Ranger(Trapper)-1/Cleric-1

Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 24 if a trap.

Xeros gazes upon the clearing trying to locate any traps or ambushes then becomes a little confused as he hears the bards whisper. Then tests to see if he's able to respond back "Maybe, hold on a moment and what did you do that I can hear you?"

Fealix looks at Xeros. "Why are you talking to yourself?"

Voice:

Yeah that's just weird isn't it?

"I agree it is weird."
Voice:

I know you'd never be seen talking to yourself

"Your right that would be embarrassing to look like your talking to yourself."
Voice:

I wonder how you look right now?

"I certainly......"(Pauses for a moment and then frowns angrily)
Voice:

Hehehehe

"I hate you." Fealix shakes his head and puts his attentiveness elsewhere

Perception for DM:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Xeros:
"It's just a little spell. I can talk to people at a distance. Watch."

Neculai now points to Fealix.

Xeros and Fealix:
"Now, I can speak to both of you. Would you kindly tell Xeros that you can hear me, Fealix?"

Great just what he needs...another voice in his head...

The two of you spot 3 orcs gathering in the clearing, one seeming to just pop up there out of nowhere. What do you do with this information?

Male Aasimar Oracle(Planar and Possessed) lvl 1 Barbarian(Urban) lvl 1 Total lvl 2

Fealix flintches at the new voice in his head. "WHAT THE!" Fealix looks around panicked. "When did you get such a manly sounding voice?"

Voice:

Wasn't me, it sounds like the bard. Hehe, I think he's gonna make you crazy.

Fealix glares at the Bard. Suddenly he notices the orcs. He grins and turns to the bard. "Look ser bard! An Audience for you. Go and perform for them!"
Voice:

Now you sound crazy.....not to mention lame. *Yawn* he wont buy it.

Fealix grumbles and draws his weapon and Shield. "Bah! Nevermind. They're just enemies. Orcs no less. Time to put them down." He then casts Coat of stars. AC now 18

Xeros nessles a blunt arrow onto his longbow, whispers to Neculai "There are 3 orcs ahead of us, not sure how hostile they are ,but move up cautiously and tell Andwell to split from you to and have him hide in the tree line moving with us." He looks to Fealix, "At least we can have one suprise for them." Xeros ducks down low and tries to study the orcs to see if he can tell what there movtives are.

"Lets wait for the others before you go charging in, okay Fealix."

Xeros:
"Alright. Where do you want me and the others?"

"Andwell, they want you up front in the treeline. There are 3 orcs ahead, although they haven't shown hostile intentions quite yet. Everyone else, I'm waiting for input regarding us."

Tarvinda readies herself for battle, shield and sword at the ready. "Stay behind me, I'll keep you as safe as I can. These creatures are never up to any good, we must be on our guard." Then a pained expression comes across her face as she wonders how Neculai knows this. "Umm, Neculai, Just how come you know about these orcs and you want Andwell to go off on his own to fight them?" She stares at Neculai.

Male Human Bard 2

"Uhhhh..... right. I'm talking to Xeros right now. I can whisper to him, and it sounds like I'm speaking right into his ear. It's one of those little spells I was talking about earlier. And Andwell isn't going to be fighting alone. I assume Xeros and Fealix have a plan for him up there."

Just realized it's 1 target/level. That spoiler for Fealix and Xeros should've just been Fealix, but it's not totally important. I have since reverted back to Xeros."

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

umm. whose got what plan?
Andewll draws his longsword. Then looks to Tarvinda with a worried expression.
If she gestures him to proceed, he will do as asked. If not, he awaits for directions. His eyes express trust in her devotion and experience in looking out for others.

Male Tiefling Ranger(Trapper)-1/Cleric-1

Xeros whispers back to Neculai, "Did you have Andwell hide in the forest so they won't know our true numbers and if your proficient in stealth as well maybe you go with him. Have Tarvinda move up here with me and Fealix. So far the orc's haven't made a move, I just want us to be prepared incase it's a trap. You understand Neculai?" Xeros thinks to himself is he being overly cautious, then he remembers that's the life of a one who deals in traps for a living.

Xeros looks up with a little bit of confidence, "No one is to attack until we agree there a threat, which is why I need Tarvinda up here with us. Then have you and Andwell ready for a sneak attack if needed."

Male Human Bard 2

"Andwell, he wants you and I in the woods, in case things turn ugly, so that we can surround them. Tarvinda, he wants you to move up with him and Fealix. No one is to make a move until it is apparent there is a threat. We are merely a contingency, Andwell. Agreeable?"

Tarvinda nods to Andwell, "You'll be better off hidden in the woods and quite close to us. Just creep slowly up in the trees as Neculai says. Of course if you get a chance to stab one of those nasty orcs, take it." With that Tarvinda moves slowly up to Xeros and Fealix. Keeping to the other side of the pathway she crouches keeping as out of the way as her creaking armor allows. As she approaches Xeros and Fealix she whispers, "What now?"

Oh that reminds me...Battle Rules:
1. You do NOT need to post in initiative order.
2. When you post, post 2 different actions just in case one of them isn't possible.
3. There will be no maps, at least for now, so use your best estimation on movement.
4. I'm not sure if I'll be doing xp or just giving you levels based on accomplishments...still need to figure that out. Your input would be appreciated.

Also just an fyi I have an interview today so I might be less available to post but I'll still keep things running.

Action assumes the orcs are within 30ft, probably running into melee.

As the orcs move into attack, Tarvinda points her sword to the heavens, shouting out "For Iomedae and Kassen." Then with a flourish the sword comes down with lightening speed, twirling and twisting patterns for which there is only one outcome, death.

Sorry guys been busy with stuff. I need initiative rolls out of Tarvinda and Andwell as I couldn't find them. To make up for my lack of posting I'm going to conclude the round with you guys acting at the end of the round but next round(if the battle continues) you'll go in initiative order.

Critical Confirmation on Xeros:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage on Xeros:3d12 + 12 ⇒ (7, 11, 4) + 12 = 34

Xeros your arrow flies true and one of the orcs looks very very very badly hit, blood pouring from the wound. Seeing you drop their leader the two remaining orcs growl and advance. One moves to engage Fealix while the other charges Tarvinda. The one on Fealix swings his great axe at him but misses wildly. The charging orc strikes true and Tarvinda is struck for 16 damage. Seeing Tarvinda drop to the ground, bleeding from a large gash across her midsection the anger begins to well up inside of Fealix and he takes aim at the orc in front of him but misses. The bard's attention drifts to the forest for a second, and he could swear he saw something familiar in the woods but passes it off as just seeing things. As Tarvinda drops the bard quickly rushes forward and begins to sing and everyone is inspired by the song(casts inspire courage). Unfortunately Tarvinda is on the ground bleeding. Andwall you observe from the forest though it looks like you might want to try to get into flanking position because now the three orcs are poised to rip Fealix to shreds. The last orc roars and moves to charge Xeros and blood erupts from the young ranger, his head being severed from his body with a well placed blow. The young mans body falls limp on the ground, his head falling next to it with the eyes still open and the mouth ajar. A look of shock seems to be stretched over his dead face.

Wow that was a really really bad round for you guys...sorry Deevor and really sorry Xeros...that sucks. Though Xeros I'm pretty sure you remember to not be to upset...but thats the way the dice roll. I need Xeros and Tarvinda to make will saves. I'm going to be nice and let xeros add +4 to his result since I did just one shot him dead. I also need Tarvinda to make a stabilize check.

Holy crap. If possible, Neculai will move to a position where he can get them all in a 15-foot cone without catching any of his teammates, draw his rapier, and cast: Chord of Shards.

As he sees his companions fall, he leaps into action, still singing. As he reaches a crescendo, his words become physical shards, ripping into his enemies.

Xeros you didn't kill an orc, he's still up just really really pissed off. And you didn't need to try to stablize because well...you'd need like a 30 on a 20 sided dice so yeah your dead sorry about that...well you'll see what happens but I'll say this you won't need to reroll a character just yet.

Attack on Neculai again:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage on Neculai:1d12 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Xeros continues to lay bleeding on the ground. The orc that was attacking Tarvinda will move engage Neculai but will miss wide right. The orc in front of Fealix will try to hack at him once again and will miss wide left. Fealix's blow will strike true and but he seems unphased. Travinda is able to stabilize and won't be bleeding anymore. Andwell moves in to flank with Fealix and but his short sword goes wide. Neculai you are able to see that you will be able to get in position for the shards to go off(I'm being nice here) but it will provoke an attack of opprotunity. Unfortunatly the blow lands true striking the bard for 6 damage. He's able to shake off the pain for a moment and the ability still goes off(again being nice). The shards shoot out and land and the orc with the arrow sticking out drops to the ground.

Round 2 complete.

There thats a little better round. Sorry to the bard but I feel I bent enough rules that he should be okay with the results. I need will saves out of Fealix and Neculai as you two might notice something. If not then something might happen next round I'm not sure. Oh and just a note, I didn't do anything to this encounter I'm running it as stated in the module so if your mad at anyone be made at Paizo :P.

Just a reminder everyone is under the affects of inspire courage so remember your +1 to attack and damage and saves(*cough*will saves*cough*). Also Neculai I'm not sure how to run this but I'm pretty sure you'll need some sort of check to continue inspiring courage after getting it...I want to say concentration but since its not a spell persay I'm not exactly sure. Go ahead and roll what ever you think is appropriate. I'm off to church for a meeting but I'll be back tonight so if everyone's posted we can move on from this deadly battle into some more fun.

Tarvinda you are stable but can't act. Andwell your attack drops the orc in front of Fealix(you had flanking so I added in sneak attack). And Neculai you are able to keep inspiring courage and your spell goes off ones more on the remaining orc and it cries out as its to slow to move out of the way. You also seem to notice something as your damage hits.

Neculai:

These orcs are not real and all your companions are fine. This spell seems to be an illusion of some sort and you have a feeling who might have cast it. You remember your master has a liking to play practical jokes on you. Do you tell the group?

Male Human Bard 2

Neculai suddenly starts laughing. "Well, that was a waste. Xeros, you can get up now. You're not actually hurt. Neither are you, Tarvinda."

"MASTER JOCYN, YOU CAN COME OUT NOW!" the bard shouts, much to the chagrin of the others around him.

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell, still terrified, starts to search the Orc bodies for valuables and clues.

She breaths a deep breath, ...funny, the same smells of moss ...of mushrooms and fungi that were in the woods... Slowly an eye opens and she looks upwards to the sky and the tree tops. Her normally strong voice wavers, "Neculai, is that you... where are we?" tilting her head to the side, and looking around she sees the familiar surrounding of the fight, minus the orcs...

"By the gods! what happened???"

Male Tiefling Ranger(Trapper)-1/Cleric-1

Xeros slowly blinks his eyes open when he hears Neculai talking to him. He reaches to his head feeling that its still connected to his body. As he raises he mutter's to himself, "Wow that was embarrassing." Then he echoes Tarvinda's sentiments, "Thats what I want to know as well."

Male Human Bard 2

"It was all merely an illusion. Frankly, I'm surprised I didn't realize it earlier. Master Jocyn likes his pranks, and they're very convincing, wouldn't you agree? MASTER JOCYN! COME ON OUT! You who would humiliate those who would be your friends and protectors. Is it so funny that you impede the chosen on their quest to return the everflame. Or would you like to come with us and help, being as we do this to aid and uphold the traditions of Kassen." She picks up her weapon and strides around, brushing through the bushes and brambles that extend into the forest. Her feet stomp and stamp as she looks out to find the practical joker.

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Neculai you hear it first, a very familiar voice in your head. Nice going my student, you passed your first test with flying colors though I was hoping you would have figured it out sooner. Tell Xeros I'm sorry. I'm heading back to town, don't wand to hold you up on your task. You look around but he is no where to be seen. Your best guess is that he's using invisibility to conceal himself.

Then the voice appears in Tarvinda's head and you recognize it as one of the workers at the bar, and someone you've had to confront more than once about alleged items going missing. Little lady be calm it isn't polite for girls to lose their temper. It was just a test and I'm pleased to see you have passed.

With that the air grows silent, the orcs dissolving in a fit of bubbles and there seems to be little evidence of the fight that went on. Not being able to control his temper Fealix rushes off into the forest, wanting to chase after the bard who almost killed his childhood friend.

Fealix will now be leaving us as he has found a much better fit for the character in another game. As I am sure most of you have noticed I have started a recruiting thread looking for a replacement. They will be meeting you soon.

Male Human Bard 2

"Well, I'll seeya when I get back, Master Jocyn. Xeros, Master Jocyn told me to apologize to you for him. He's going back to Kassen, and he'll see us when we get back. On we go, I suppose. It's a shame Fealix can't hold his temper."

Male Halfling Rogue; 2

Andwell's face turns beat red with anger. A rare thing for any Halfling.
What! What! What! A test. No no no. A sick and twisted game prehaps. From a deranged . . deranged . . .mutton faced donkey head!

He stomps around in circles. Outraged.

Not a test. Stupid. Yes. Test, no.

This is my last post guys. Fun playing with you but I want to take Fealix much further than level 7 so I'm moving him. Nothing against any of you, mostly the AP itself for not being long and expansive.

Fealix snarls. "Damn tricks! This town is out to get us. Well I'll have none of it!" Fealix turns to face Xeros. "I am sorry my friend, it has been long overdue for me to depart this miserable town and this act of treachery proves it. You have been a good friend and I wish you well. Good bye." Fealix doesn't even bother saying good bye to the others.

She watches as Fealix runs off into the trees, talking to the voices again. "Now see! its all going insane, I don't know...it's not supposed to be like this." She buries her head in her hands and despite it all starts to sob. Now talking quietly to herself between the tears she starts, "Pull yourself together Tar, you don't want them to see you like this, be strong. After all you've got to look after them, who else can do that eh!"

After what seems like minutes, but in reality is a few seconds later, she rises from the ground, dusts herself down and tries to reestablish her confidence once more. "Is everyone all right, Andwell, Neculai, Xeros? " she says loudly, yet without the conviction she had earlier. "Let's wait here for Fealix to return, let him run around in the woods for a while to calm down. He's sure to be back soon."

Male Human Bard 2
