Hello, players! This here's the discussion thread for what I hope will be a great Iron Gods PbP campaign here on the boards. :)
I've run the first adventure of this AP before, but alas, we made it about 2/3rds of the way through before real life decided to kidnap many of my players.
So, here's a rundown of what my CharGen rules are:
Races: Any Core & Featured, plus Androids and Flaming Crab Games' Trius Vrai, better known as 'Murder Bunnies'.
Classes: The following classes are disallowed: Antipaladin & Vigilante (mainly because I feel the Vigilante is ill-suited to this AP).
Alignment: Any, but Non-Evils preferred.
Starting Gold: Max for your class.
Stat Generation!: Finally, the meat of the process. I'll let you have two options: 4d6 with dropping the lowest, or 20-point buy. You may use 20-point buy if your roll results have less than a 20-point buy.
Traits!: One from the Iron Gods Player's Guide, one other Trait. You may take a 3rd trait in exchange for a Drawback.
XP Track?: None. You'll level up at appropriate points in the campaign's story.
HP on Level-Up?: You'll start with Max HP at 1st level, then take the best of 2 rolls on level-up.
Let's try to have a minimum of skill overlap. I'm looking for about 4 players to join.

For those of you who wish to play 'murder bunnies', I've written up an origin story for them. Here it be:
One such aspirant, a sorcerer of no small power by the name of Tychus Stormheart, passed many of their trials, and was on the verge of being fully accepted into the League. His final trial was thus: create a new weapon that the Technic League can use against those who would seek to stop them.
Now, as powerful as he was, Tychus was a man who was a bit... touched... in the head. He was a mere agent of the League before he developed his sorcerous powers--exposure to a malfunctioning piece of timeworn alien technology at the behest of his Captain tampered with his mind and unlocked a wealth of magical potential in his blood. As such, his way of thinking could never be considered by his peers to be 'entirely rational'.
His choice of weapon was Numeria's rabbits.
After sending his henchmen to gather up enough rabbits for an experiment (much to their confusion and whispered mockery behind his back), he procured a strange device from deep within the Silver Mount that Numeria's capital of Starfall was built around. He then started sticking rabbits into it and seeing what happened to them.
To his surprise and joy, the device he found transformed the rabbits from docile, easily-frightened animals into murderous, bloodthirsty creatures.
Tychus' superiours thought that an army of rabbit soldiers was patently absurd, and laughed at him. To prove the worth of his creations, he demanded that they be allowed to fight against one of the League's gearsmen.
Now, gearsmen are mechanical beings, crafted by the Technic League to enforce their iron will upon the populace. Though they feel no pity, remorse, or fear, they are incapable of truly thinking for themselves or learning. A 'trius vrai', as Tychus called them, is more intelligent.
Their mocking laughter turned to stunned silence as Tychus' rabbit soldier and their gearsman clashed in battle. Though the gearsman was sturdy and well-versed in its use of its weapon, the trius vrai was vicious and cunning enough to use its own weight against it, toppling the great metal beast with a well-placed blow before tearing it apart. Tychus' experiment was a success, and the Council of Captains reluctantly allowed him to become a full-fledged member.
Unfortunately, Tychus' experiment was too successful. The trius vrai, or 'murder bunnies' as their detractors called them, were not only vicious and possessed of a low cunning, but they despised their creator and all those like him. One night, in an unguarded moment, they escaped their bonds and carved a path of blood and chaos out of the Technic League's headquarters and into the night. Tychus was left a humiliated, buffoonish wreck, and the League charged him with finding all of his 'precious creations' and exterminating them, down to the last kit.
The League has taken pains to erase this event from their history, and silences those who claim otherwise with extreme prejudice. As such, very few outside the League are aware of the trius vrai's existence. Those few who make their way into common society are regarded as curiosities, and are frequently mistaken for being as docile and harmless as their mundane counterparts.
Very few who meddle in their affairs live to make the same mistake twice.

Probably a spell caster of some form or another, what kind is up in the air just now. Keep thinking I'd seen something tech related that had caught my eye once with a kineticist so I might look at that if I can find it. Race wise I'm not sure yet. Just to check since you didn't say anything but the Lashunta are not available correct? Assuming not since they weren't mentioned in the initial post.

So, here is my Droge's for submission, I think I got everything. Currently I have her with the technologist feat and ranks in engineering, arcana, and spellcraft, and disable device. She can't handle traps, but she can deal with technology fairly well. Her roll in combat is mainly going to be as a buffer as things proceed but for now her casting can vary a great deal day to day due to her being an amnesiac psychic.
If there is another who wants to deal with technology then I will alter some of her build/background to not deal with tech as much/any.
Also, I didn't add the particular backstory info that we discussed Ironcat since she won't ever know any of it herself.

Would having a married character and a child be too off-putting?
Certainly not. If you want your character to be married and have a family, go right ahead. :)
and just in case we can use alternate Aasimar stuff im rolling them. if not no worries :)
Alternate Heritages are allowed.
Hmmm.... that's less than 20 pt buy
In this case, considering how well the others rolled, I think I'm going to let you roll those stats again.
