Tabitha lets out a slight "Eep" as the gremlins attack. She holds out her dagger and it flies out towards the Gremlin that just lunged out at Jasper.

The dagger zips pass the gremlin and then floats back to Tabitha's hand. "Er... It worked before."

Cade's hammer falls on the gremlin, piercing through its defences with contemptuous ease and crushing it with a *SPLAT*. Both of Viorec's & Tabitha's attacks miss their marks.

Jasper aims a kick at the gremlin's feet, causing it to leap at his leg to stab it...

AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

...and is caught in mid-air before the blow can land, knocking it clean off its feet.

Dejah takes a 5 ft step back, on top of the dead gremlin, calls upon Fortune's Favour and attacks the one that jumped on her back earlier with her pike.

Dejah's pike catches the gremlin squarely in the chest, knocking the wind out of it. Unfortunately, the wound once again heals over only a few seconds after she pulls her pike free.

Damage Reduction 5/cold iron. 2 points shy of confirming the crit.

The gremlin, witnessing the gruesome death of its friend and suddenly realizing it's boxed in, tries to skitter past Dejah & Cade... once again misjudging the reach of Dejah's pike.

Dejah gets an AoO.

...unfortunately, it stumbles before it can get past the changeling, drawing Cade's wrath on it as well.

The gremlin Jasper knocked over gets to its feet and growls. It then winks, disappearing in a *POP*!

Transferring the sling in to his other hand Viorec steps forward as he pulls out the cold Iron dagger at his belt striking at the remaining gremlin that is within sight.

Free action to switch sling to his other hand, move action to pull out his dagger then take a 5 foot step standard action to attack with the dagger.

Viorec's knife sinks into the gremlin's hide... and this time, the wound doesn't heal over. The gremlin squeals in surprise and pain as it feels blood welling up from the wound.

Cade's opportunistic strike misses wildly, but he manages to catch the little nuisance on the backswing. He crushes it against the cavern wall with a *SPLORTCH*, leaving a bloody mess on both the wall and his hammer.

Val looks over the carnage and starts shaking. "Geez--that's... that's awful."

Stepping back around the corner he says Sef, how many were there? Are there more of them or can we consider the job done?


Sef smirks. "Found a few already, did ya? There's at least six of them in there, including their leader."

"They're not too threatening out in the open, but don't let 'em catch you off-guard. They're small, but if they catch you unaware they can REALLY hit where it hurts."

"Good work, everyone." Dejah felt the bruises between her shoulder blades from the Gremlin that had climbed onto her back and tried to stab her with his little sword.

Quietly to Cade she said, "Glad you know how to whack Gremlins, hard. Thanks for not letting them overrun me."

Watching as Jasper made his way back toward the Skulks' encampment, she asked the gunslinger, "Ask Sef what the leader looks like - if there is any distinguishing mark/feature", ensuring her voice was not overly loud and would not carry to the remaining, hidden Gremlins.

Only three so it looks like we got a few more ta clear out. Viorec, He says looking over, I'm sorry I missed it before but ye said ye had some cold iron sling bullets right? I'm pretty handy with a sling do ye mind if I borrow em?

Once he gets an answer one way or the other, he says Alright everyone good to go? Dejah since we two seem to be able to move the quietest and you have the eyes let's scout a few steps ahead of the others. Maybe this time we can catch them by surprise.

Unless there are objections he'll start moving north all sneaky like.

Once she received the answer to her question about the leader and Jasper asked for her to scout ahead with him, the Changeling nodded her head.

If the others in the party give the okay for Jasper and Dejah to scout ahead alittle...

Dejah will quietly follow behind Jasper and very quietly guide/instruct him using her darkvision. She will keep an eye out for Gremlin and trap.

GM Ironcat, what directions are available to us at present to scout ahead? I see Jasper has chosen 'North' via his edit. ;)

Dejah, there are two passages available for scouting: the north path past the room you just cleared, and the northwest passage that appears to be empty.

As Dejah and Jasper creep forward, the changeling notices the gleam of a tripwire from Tabitha's light in the northwest passage. Presumably, it's connected to yet another spike trap the gremlins have set.

The pair catch a glimpse of what appears to be a massive scrap heap in the large cavern beyond.

Viorec offers the sling and the remaining 9 cold iron sling bullets to jasper. Here you go. I can use it but you will probably make better use of the limited ammo.

I assume that Dejah and jasper are sneaking at least a little ahead of us so I imagine my perception stands by itself.

Dejah pointed out the new spike trap to Jasper and she wondered if she should disable it ... but when Jasper moved forward, she noted its location for possible disabling afterwards. The Jinkin Gremlins were their first priority. (When the others draw close enough to Dejah, she will very quietly inform them of the spike trap so they don't accidentally move that way and trigger it.)

Creeping quietly forward, just behind the tall gunslinger, she grabbed hold of Jasper's arm to slow him down until she could take a better/closer look inside the cavern/at the scrap heap to determine if anything was hiding within or another trap was there or something of note was left in the pile.

Peeking into the caverns beyond, Dejah & Jasper notice a small figure crouched against the far wall, beyond the scrap pile. It's yet another gremlin, except this one bears a crown crafted from jagged pieces of metal. A vicious scar is on its belly, running from its ribs to its navel. It's busily sharpening a piece of scrap to a vicious point with its short sword, muttering to itself as it does.

As the duo observe the cavern, a pair of sharp *CLANGING* noises echoes throughout the cavern. Jasper looks up...

...and spots three gremlins clinging to the stalactites on the ceiling, ten feet high. Two of them have looks of sheer astonishment on their faces as they grasp at air, their short swords having fallen to the scrap pile below. The third one is shooting a blistering glare at the two clumsy ones.

The chief looks up as the echoes ring throughout the cavern.

Jasper looks at the stalactites to see if they are trapped somehow. Grinning he waves and says Sef says HI! before he whips a sling around with a cold iron bullet and hurls it at the leaders head.

The sling bullet arcs across the pile and strikes the leader squarely on the cheek, tearing a bloody wound open. The leader shrieks in pain!

With the sounds of battle Viorec moves just past Caedmon to be able to see everyone in the group he raises his head and calls out to his patron for his attention, Cayden Cailean patron of risk takers and lovers of freedom I ask for your favor in our fight. with the call a nearly invisible wave emanates from Viorec passing through each member of the group. With its passing the blood seems to rush to your ears like the cheer's of thousands urging you on before passing away leaving you feeling braver and more certain of your success.

move action for placement on the board, standard action to cast bless giving everyone in the group +1 to attack and and saves vs fear for the next minute.

Cade moves up in front of the rifleman and readies an attack should one of the gremlins move into melee range. "Come meet your end!"

Cade: I believe so.

As Cade charges into the room and starts waving around his hammer, one of the gremlins leaps down from its perch... and promptly gets swatted like a fly. The gremlin's corpse flies into a stalagmite at the other end of the cavern and crashes into it with a meaty *thud*.

The remaining gremlins leap at the massive berserker, trying to knife him.

Cade gets an AoO vs. one of them.

Acrobatics (Stick The Landing): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

They land on their feet with ease and make a beeline for him!

Jasper steps up and kicks one of the creatures legs out from under them, trying to get them off of Cade and keeping them from flanking him. Calling over his shoulder he says Feel free to jump in at any time. He then trails off laughing, clearly he is having fun and you can tell he meant the statement in jest.

Shortly after his miss, a piece of metal thuds soundly in his chest. Pain courses through his body as he looks down and sees where it pierced his armor. He instinctively reaches down and attempts to slow the bleeding.


The gremlin Jasper tries to trip stabs at him as well...

Damage: 1d3 - 4 ⇒ (3) - 4 = -1

1 Nonlethal.

...but it's still not enough to stop Jasper from knocking it flat on its back.

Dejah moved up 5 ft to stand behind Jasper and using her pike (reach weapon) attacked the gremlin who was now prone on its back near Jasper's feet.

Tabitha moves forward slightly with her dagger in hand beside Dejah to see into that part of the cavern. Seeing both Caedmon and Jasper taking care of the gremlins, she is not sure what she can do. So she tries to hit the closest one with her dagger.

I don't think I hit either. They are tiny after all.

"Drat!" As Tabitha exclaims when she sees her dagger fly out to strike, but she doesn't see if it connects or not.

Cade regrips his hammer and attempts to finish the prone Gremlin.

Viorec moves next to Dejah and Tabitha keeping his dagger out and ready to use. As he scans the combat waiting to see the best time to support his comrades.

I will move then hold action until just before the end of the turn to channel healing on the group since Caedmon took a decent hit and I am about useless in this fight. If possible I will pass my cold iron dagger to Tabitha so she can use hand of the apprentice on it but I might need to wait until next turn to do that unless I am allowed to drop it in her square or something. If I can I will let her know before doing it.

Cade's hammer comes down on the prone gremlin and crushes it with ease.

The chieftain grabs another sharp spike and throws it at the berserker...

...but it sails over his shoulder without hitting either him or the gremlin stabbing him. The gremlin keeps up his assault...

Dejah takes a 5 ft step inside the larger cavern, making room for Tabitha and Viorec behind her. Using her pike (reach weapon), she attempts to attack the prone gremlin by Jasper's feet.

Damage, if hits: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Seeing the combat continue within the cavern ahead, Tabitha looks around and sees Viorec has dropped his dagger. She picks it up and takes a few steps ahead of him to launch the dagger at the farthest one.

Move action: Picks up Viorec's Dagger.
Free Action: 5ft step ahead of Viorec into the cavern.
Standard Action: Hand of the Apprentice the dagger at the Leader.

This time, Dejah's pike manages to break the gremlin's skin and draw blood. The wound isn't as deep as she hoped, but it's still seriously injured.

Tabitha's dagger, on the other hand, slices open the chieftain's throat as it leaps from her hand. The boss' eyes widen and it grabs at its throat before pitching backwards onto the cavern floor, twitching twice and then laying still.

Viorec's healing magic radiates from him, fixing Jasper's bruises and some of Cade's spear injury.

Round 3: Cade & Viorec are up!

Tabitha: the chieftain only had 1 HP left. :)

"Time to die little bastard" Inspired by Tabitha and Dejah's successful attacks and reinvigorated by Viorec's healing, Cade raises his hammer one last time.

Raging/Bless/Prone: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15


Cade crushes the gremlin decisively, leaving little more than a red smear on the cavern floor.

Cade, winded and injured, drops his hammer and bends over to catch his breath and calm his anger. Breathing heavily again, "Great job team." He looks around assessing the damage. Smiling at Jasper, he offers his hand. "I didn't know what to think about you when we first met, but you are pretty alright. Your combat skill aided me significantly." He turns to Dejah and checks the wound in his chest. "You alright?"
