Here's a mostly complete for markofbane. I've been working on refining the character's background, to the point where it even seemed to necessitate a gender change... I should be able to finish her tomorrow; I believe there is just equipment and skills left. For first level, I am looking at a rogue. The mention of the spell book is to help make it more plausible if I decide to multiclass as a wizard; if the character doesn't go wizard, the book is just another memory of her past.

As far as how long in Sandpoint, it can be as long as is good for the story. She came here convinced the Dawn Flower has a purpose for her, so it could be days or years. I haven't singled out an individual she would be connected to; probably someone that keeps her close to the rumor mill so she can try to find clues as to what she needs to do for redemption.

I may take another look at bard before Tuesday. It is just hard because I can see this one's personality going so many ways.

Have you decided on how long you have been in Sandpoint? It makes a difference on some of the possible side trek type things I am working on.

Evening Day 1 Total earned XP: 13700

I sent an email to each of you with a players guide I made for my home group. It is just the info on Sandpoint so you may already have it if you own Burnt Offerings, I couldn't remember who said the did and didn't so I just gave it to all of you. I hope it makes Role-playing in Sandpoint a little easier. I am a firm believer that the more the players know the more they can have their characters contribute to the story. If your character would know about a place or NPC feel free to use them in your posts. As I introduce places or people feel free to have your character acquire the knowledge that would be appropriate. Have fun!!

Elven Rogue 3/Ranger (Guide) 1/Wizard (Diviner, Foresight) 1 HPs 39/39 AC 17 FF 13 T 14 CMD 17 Fort +6 Ref +9 Will +4 Init +5 Per +10 (+1 vs. traps, +2 w/familiar)

I'm thinking Eponine would have been in town about half a year. Much longer than that, and she would probably feel like she had to move on to find her calling.

Thanks for the handout Mythril DM. I am finishing up Sunny's character and will post on the new thread tomorrow .

DM, I am out all day due to work. I'll get on the thread tonight!

Waiting on Sunny for end of round 2

No word from him since Friday on either character. Not a good sign...

Evening Day 1 Total earned XP: 13700

Yeah, I hope we didn't lose him already. I will give him time. 1 because this is the secondary game. 2 the map I had got lost and I will have to rebuild it. I wont have time probably until late tomorrow to do that anyway.

Might be a good idea to open up a post in the classifieds that we could use another player, assuming you want to go that way, DM.

Evening Day 1 Total earned XP: 13700

I was trying to avoid and open recruitment but I guess I will have to do that. If Strobus dosn't post today he is out and we will look for one maybe two more characters. If any of you are in another good game and want to suggest a current consistent poster that might be better than an open free for all.

DM, I am quite fond of the posters and the DM in DM Tanner's Red Hand of Doom game. All of them are very regular and tell a good story. I haven't checked to see if any of them wanted to add another game, but they would be good additions.

I would second that. Joana, Sigz and Alexander are all in other games of mine here on the Paizo boards, and from what I've seen I think any of them would fit in great!

Edit: Perhaps one may also be interested in Lucendar's LOF.

Tanner is really good as well, if he wanted to play a character...any of them would be a great addition.

Evening Day 1 Total earned XP: 13700

Sounds good, if you want to post an inquire inviting them to come check us out we could add two more. I think since we only did two rounds before Strobus flaked out on us it would be easiest to just get the new characters made and then start over. This week is going to be pretty heavy for me at school. Two papers, a group presentation, writing and presenting a worship service with another group a grade, Greek vocab quiz and another quiz all due this week. AKK. Anyway I can check in as we get the characters made and get started hopefully by the end of the week or early next.

I posted in our OOC thread, DM and linked to over here. Hopefully a couple of them will be receptive!

Hey, Mythril DM, just realized I know you from an old PbP game, Kill Bargle! I played Zo the rogue. I was thinking she'd be a good fit for Sandpoint, but the build looks very similar to markofbane's rogue (although the personality is quite different and she'd single-class) and I wouldn't want to step on his toes (particularly since my witch is being mean to his character in another game -- Freya's the most obnoxious PC in my stable, I promise; they're not all like her!)

How about a Lore oracle? She's the mousy librarian who zoned out one evening and came to herself an hour later to find a page in her own handwriting portending disaster at the upcoming festival.

I like the Lore Oracle idea, that could be cool. I don't have the APG yet, do you know if any of the online SRD site have the rules info posted on the Oracle? If so I am cool with that. Work her up and shoot me an email. andrew.black@my.lpts.edu with her background as the body and her name as the subject. I will send you back a players guide about Sand Point that you can use to help with in character knowledge.

What AK said. :)

I'll start working on the oracle. If Tanner's not interested in a spot and you want another player, I know a reliable poster who has been wanting to get into a RotRL PbP.

Awesome, Joana, glad you are coming aboard.

Has anyone nicknamed a Lore Oracle, a 'loracle' before? If not, I think I might be a genius, cause I had that thought and that makes me laugh...

I'd like to add two total, you make one, and I'd like to avoid the open call recruitment thread. I'd like people interested in posting regularly and who want to develop the story over rack up XP.

Here's the mechanics on my 'loracle'. She's not equipped yet, and background is under construction.

DM, the guy I know is definitely good for at least one post a day, more on weekends; we were in a game together that the DM had to quit, and he posted right to the bitter end. The only thing is he's familiar with the AP, although he doesn't have a problem with keeping player knowledge and character knowledge separate. I think he wants to play a fighter. (We were actually both supposed to be in a RotRL game, but it died out before we got started.)

Sounds good, Im not to worried about OCC Knowledge, I have some things I might do to make it different and each time it's told it is a new story. Let him know to check us out if he wants to.

Will do. E-mail with background sent.

Welcome to the group, Joana. I'm looking forward to playing in another PbP with you!

LOL!

I must admit, that is pretty funny. (It's either that or your post. Probably the latter. Either way, good for a laugh!):)

Thanks for giving me a shot Mythril!

I was thinking of running a fighter. Right now it seems you only got the one melee guy. Think I should go ranged or melee? I'll work on both options(Just because it's fun). Let me know what would be more beneficial to the party.

@Lucendar: I checked out your character and unless I just missed it, I think you're short a fighter bonus feat.

Lucendar Edit:
You also have a small typo on your AC.
In case you're wondering, I was checking out how you built him. I was thinking I probably shouldn't copy the other guys fighter.

Lucendar:
My bad. I saw 7 base on your AC and immediately thought "base 7?". Didn't realize you bought banded mail and that's what that was. Sorry about that.

Weclome to the group. I am less worried about class as I am about story, so play the character that you want to play. Shoot me an email with a background in the body and the character name as the subject when you get that worked out. andrew.black@my.lpts.edu Thanks

Got it, sent you back a players guide that I used with my home group. It made it easier for me to tell them places and they looked them up and use the info as IC if it fit there character or made it IC as appropriate. I made a suggestion for how to fit the library into your background and still maintain Sandpoint, let me know what you think.

I was just reading up on the Oracle rules, looks like its going to be a cool character, and I think the House of Blue Stones is a good fit because it is run by a monk who subscribes to Irori who is one of the recommended Deities for "LOracle's".

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

@Gerald: Looks like you've coined a "new" class. ;)

Right up there with Douena's "flappybites". (Navior's Serpent Skull. Excellent thread by the way. Should check it out.)

Cool. Will get it together ASAP.

I, myself, would like to thank Joana for throwing my name out there.
And thanks again Mythril.

Glad you could get in Javell. I owed you for keeping Dragox alive in the Red Hand of Doom game, when you reminded me about his Evasion. Can't wait for you and Joana to be in the game.

DM, is there any way you could consider letting Wren take the feat Cosmopolitan from APG, and delaying Spell Focus Evocation until I hit third level? The feat grants two additional languages known, and makes two Intelligence, Wisdom,or Charisma skills to be treated as class skills. That is sort of what I have been going for with her. I would add Perform Dance, and Perception as the class skills. Not sure about the two languages.

I am cool with the feat but Cosmopolitan indicates a city life, how does that affect your background growing up wandering Varisia?

From the PFSRD: Living in large, exotic cities has put you in touch with many diverse civilizations, cultures, and races.

Thanks Gerald! Looking forward to it, myself!

@DM: Is the APG fighter alternate classes cool to use? Here is the link to it.
Fighter alt classes

If so, will let you know which one I go with in email. Still looking at them.

Sure you can use the APG fighter types. Looking forward to the charter you create. If you know the AP well can I suggest you create a local to Sandpoint.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Not a problem.

Let me study on that, DM. It might not work for Wren, as I had sort of missed the flavor description.

Sent. Don't know if I clarified or not but gonna go with Archer alt class.

Thanks!

I think I have Sophy done. I took the masterwork backpack out of the APG, if that's all right; it helps when you have a 10 Strength and want to be able to carry more than just armor and a weapon. :)

Mythril DM:
I'm justifying Dangerously Curious by saying it might be the academy headmaster's magical belongings she got into, when he took a special interest in her, but I can switch traits if you want; I had a hard time finding a second one to fit. I'm using Reactionary and Improved Initiative to simulate the protection of her haunting spirits, giving her premonitions of danger. At the moment, I'm going to fluff her spells and oracle abilities as something that is happening to her rather than something she is consciously doing; as she levels up, she will most likely grow to "own" her powers, but right now, she feels like the things that happen around her are without her volition. For instance, if she 'casts sanctuary,' she'd probably cower and throw her hands up to protect herself and her haunting spirits would protect her.

Evening Day 1 Total earned XP: 13700

Okay gang, looks like we have a group of characters. Remember I have a lot of school work this week so it might be slow going at first. Check out my profile, i have listed all the PC's backgrounds together there so you can check them out easily. Some of you might know or know of each other. Looks like we are going to have some great role-playing opportunities.

DM, I am not going to change Wren. She'll just have to get better at dancing the old fashioned way--practice! I'm good to go when you are ready.

I am not referring to the class bonus feats. I was referring to the RotRL players guide that gave a free feat to characters from the special list. They are City Born, Country Born, Varisian Tattoo, ect. I opted to allow those feats as possibilities and instead give the two character traits. I hope that helps, sorry if I confused you. If you are entitled to a feat for class or race than do take it, you may choose to spend your slots on one of feats in the players guide but it is not required.
