@ Joanna: The goblin was able to understand enough of common for the spell to work.
Last day of class today, will still have a short 2 page paper to write up but the heavy reading load and long class days end today. I don't have time to update the round this morning...need to finish my reading for today. I hope to update latter today, but it might be tomorrow before I get a chance.

Yes, that made me laugh too! I can't wait to see how Sophy reacts to a goblin popping up in her face ready to kill her, only to have it die before it can hit her because of Wren's magic and Victor's deadly arrow.
Seems like the archer is finally finding his stride :D

Was just to fitting to pass up. ;)
And sorry about not posting the ready action, Mythril. I plumb forgot. That's my bad.
Good roll, by the way! It only took four levels, but maybe, just maybe, Victor is getting the hang of this. *knock on wood*

...as long as you let the DM roll for him. ;)
I'm still trying to figure out a justification for AK to roll all my dice; he has the magic touch with Lady Luck, in the form of the forum dice roller anyway. (Ooh, now I'm thinking of that NPC rogue in Baldur's Gate that you met in the forest who said "Luck, be a lady" in a really sexy voice whenever you sent him to do a rogue-y thing. What was his name? Started with a K, I think.)
EDIT: Coran, with a C. CG Elf fighter-thief. That's probably where Tebati's vulnerability to Kieran came out of left field from, AK. :P

Just waiting for everyone to post an action before finishing round 11. I guess like me everyone is hanging out in the RPG Super Star forums. I am excited for it this year, one of my long time gaming buddies made the top 32 this year! Enjoy the contest, then hurry back :)

Actually, in my case, I've just been swamped with work. I haven't had time to even glance at the Superstar forums. I'm kind of glad my own item didn't win, as it would have been hell trying to get an organization ready for tomorrow.
A quick question before I post Kern's action: I can't remember what the purple triangles indicate. Are those the goblins that are blinded?
Navior |
I've not had a chance to even think about the "Critique My Item" thread. I just took a quick glance at the Superstar Forums and saw that the thread is already over 500 posts. At this point, it'll be ages before they get to my item, if they get to it at all, so I probably won't bother posting for feedback.
Joana |
It's actually moving pretty quickly. Neil Spicer has already worked his way up to page 6, and there's only 10 pages so far; most of the later pages are a lot of judge feedback rather than requests for new critiques so the response to each page goes by a little faster.
That said, the judges will be taking a break from feedback on wonderous items when the round 2 entries are submitted tomorrow, so you probably would have to wait until next week at least. Don't suppose yours is one of the almost-wons from the blog? They get fast-tracked for special feedback.
Mythril DM |
One of the best things about the contest, is the opportunity to get the feedback from the judges, and your peer's. I have found that reading those threads very helpful as a DM, player, and designer. You should put it out and see what they say...it can only make you a better designer. If you don't want to put it out for the masses I am sure we would be glad to give you advice and a critique if you want.

I missed the 21 gold found on the goblins. My bad.
Also, I have all the items we found listed on Victor's profile.
Once we've decided what to keep, I'm guessing we dump all the worthless stuff? I don't see any reason to keep six dogslicers.
@Markofbane: Didn't I give you that money (15gp, 19sp, 17cp) earlier to buy stuff with? I think I did. I just want to make sure so I can erase it. If I keep it on there, I'm gonna keep thinking I've got more money than I have.
Let me know.

That last encounter earned you each another 550 XP, including a small bonus for great role-playing after the fight. I get the sense that the party is tired and worn out and stressed to the max. It is well into the middle of the night and the group has been adventuring a long time with very little break time. Good Job keeping that vibe fresh in play. With this addition of XP your individual totals now equal 7700 only 2300 more to go until level 5.

Definitely a pity. I hate it when someone just disappears. I don't mind if a GM comes up and says they need a hiatus or to drop it. And I really appreciate it when they do come back to say what happened and if they're okay. I had one DM, Patcher, who did that and I really appreciated him coming back just to say he was okay and had just been overwhelmed.

Seeing how you're here, you might have missed Kriger's post in KM. I asked you a question, now PAY ATTENTION WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU, SON! The 1:18 mark. ;) (Ah, the good ol' days.)

I took the liberty of looking up the results of the failed save. -2 to Dex and Cha for one day. That drops his AC to 16.
Ah, darn! I was really hoping he wouldn't do something like that. Can Kern have an epic death moment, where as he's dying, he grabs the goblin dog and then stumbles back and falls off the cliff, dragging the goblin dog with him? ;)

Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update. The semester here is back in full swing this week and with my student, family and internship responsibilities things are hectic. It looks like the best time I am going to have to post to the thread is going to be Monday-Friday mornings. Depending on the day I may be able to hit an evening post or a weekend post, but more than likely that is when you should be looking for me to advance the thread. I expect I will be able to post at least once each of those days, but this is going to be a heavy semester for me so don't be surprised if I miss a day. I have some assignments due tonight and tomorrow already so I probably wont be free to add the next round of combat until tomorrow. See you in the game thread!

Mythril, what would your ruling be on Sophy using mage hand to pick up Eponine's curve blade? If Sophy raised it to eye level, could Eponine grab it out of the air without taking an AoO, or could Sophy summon it to herself and then reach out and put it in Eponine's scabbard so she could draw it normally?
Mythril DM |
I like to reward creative thinking and I think this is a cool attempt to use the spell to help in combat. I will say yes you can do this, but it doesn't pick up the whole sword. Instead you can pick up the hilt and lift one end. You wouldn't be able to fling it per the spell, but that is not what you are going for here. Since you could lift one end up, that would put the point on the ground and the hilt up, I will rule she can grab it as a Move action and not draw an AoO.
Joana |
I checked to see if the curve blade was magic, but I never even thought about it being heavier than 5 lbs. :(
I'll try it next round. The problem's going to be that she has to concentrate to hold the blade up, and the goblin archers go between her and Eponine. If she gets hit again like she has been every round, she'll have to make a concentration check or the blade will be dropped again and her round wasted. Then again, she's just about out of helpful things to do anyway.
Belril Leokas |
Whos talking about dying? None of these chumps can even hit Belril except on a 20 I think, and i'm slowly whittling them down while Kern brains a new one each turn.
If you want to go back across the bridge and leave this thing to me, I understand! :)

Mythril DM wrote:End of Round 4; Begin Round 5Pretty sure it's actually beginning of round four. I've been counting down since Sophy cast entropic shield. The first round was a surprise round and didn't get a number. Round 0, I suppose. :)
You are right, I messed up the counting when we moved to then new page. Sorry about that. This is indeed the top of Round 4[/ooc]

But seeing how my intiative is before Eponine, would it be possible for her attack to be applied toward the goblin dog?
What are you trying to do, Eponine: get in on the Sophy-saving action? She specifically quavered for Victor. Next thing you know, he'll be jealous of you, too. ;P
