Mythril:

Will do today. I bought big game hunter with one of my normal feats. Theres a connection to Shelalu in my original backstory post, i'd like Belril to have been her apprentice for a time.

I can try forwarding you my copy, AK, but it's in OpenOffice rather than MSWord.

Format is not an issue for me, please go ahead.

Sent. It's a 2.74 MB attachment; took a few seconds to upload on my end.

The northeast corner of this building bears a few scars from the Sandpoint Fire, but fortunately for its owner, Savah Bevaniky (female human), the building escaped signify cant damage. Savah’s shop sells all manner of weapons and armor, including several masterwork items and exotic weapons like a spiked chain, a dozen masterwork shuriken, and a repeating crossbow with a darkwood and ivory stock that bears the name “Vansaya.” She’s not sure what the name means—she bought the weapon from an adventurer on the way to Riddleport a year ago, and the combination of its high price and complexity has ensured its semi-permanent stay in her shop.

I did get a bounce back on it. I just sent it again with your email spelled correctly this time. :) Let me know if you don't get it again. It's coming from my school account @my.lpts.edu if that helps you find it.

Sorry Gang, I wanted to put up a post today, but my daughters big girl bed finally arrived and it became and ordeal to get it put together. I will get something going soon.

Hope it's less trouble than the one we got for our daughter. We sprung for the loft bed with the clubhouse underneath and the tent on top and a slide to get out of bed in the morning. The first time someone sees her room, we're the best parents ever. Only the only way to change the sheets is to physically lift the mattress out of the bed, teeter it on the edge of the railing and dash around under it from side to side messing with the sheets until you then try to slide it back onto the slats, still keeping the sheets smooth, all in a 10x10 bedroom where I'm simultaneously trying not to break the lamp or knock anything off the wall. So not worth it.

Sorry but visualizing that makes me Laugh!! I envision a three stooges kind of event. No not that kind of event for us. We ordered it a month ago, kept geting delays and excuses and then when we finally got it it was missing three bolts to hold it together. I called the store, 7-10 days to get new hardware. I took that to mean another month, since that's how long it took to get the bed in the first place. It went together easy, but it just drove me crazy. But when she climbed into it and gave me a big hug and said "I luv you Daddy" made it all worth it. She will be three in a month, it was so cute to see her trying to help me take the crib down with her own wrench.

Hey Mythril, pretty much what I said about cleaner clothes and, well, weapons. That's pretty much what I was gonna do. I'm slightly on the side of having neither. (Not really good for a FIGHTER to have 0 weapons. Quite pathetic really.) :)

MD:
See, my leaving opened it up for 2 great players! I don't know what your plans are for Brock, but in my CT game, he left Sandpoint and returned to his old villainous ways and will reappear as a bad guy! Just wanted to let you know!

In terms of clean clothes the acolytes at the church could have cleaned them while you were sleeping. AS for weapons lets role-play that out here in the morning.

FYI: Today starts our family vacation time before school starts up again. We are doing a lot of day activities, visiting family, and taking a short trip. I will be continuing with the thread, but my posting may be sporadic over the next two weeks, missing a day here and there depending on what we have planned for the day.

Poor Victor, just can't get a brake with the ladies daddies. He believed your threat, just wasn't scared of you. I wonder if Victor will ever get the chance to see his love again.

Cross posted for convenience- sorry for an unexplained abscence so early in the game.

Everythings ok it was just a very spontaneous two day trip to another town with limited internet access (and sleep). I just got home (5PM here) and have a family dinner to go to at 7PM- once i'm back from that at 11PM or so my games will get updates- and then i'm off to Southampton to visit my friend James (EngineHouse here on the forums) and go to a friends birthday.

I'm not normally this busy. More frequent posting should resume monday.

Mythril DM wrote:

Are you planing on going back to the shrine, or did you want to work your way back to the prison cells?

I think that depends on what the group's priority is right now: finding Ameiko or defeating the quasit (or whatever she is). If we're most concerned with finding Ameiko, we should explore the part of the tunnels we haven't been to yet; if we're most concerned with eliminating the demon, we should return to the shrine and have it out.

If we want to defeat the quasit, however, we ought to go deal with it right away before we're forced to use some of our resources elsewhere. We know she can create monsters to send after us; if we just leave her in the shrine, she can continue to harry us via her minions and wear us down before we face her.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

If we're voting; let's kill the quasit. That's what Victor would pick. That thing is a nightmare.

I'd vote for killing the quasit. I would hate to find another foe down here, only to have an invisible quasit follow us and engage us at the same time.

Kern doesn't really have an opinion as he's still sort of figuring out what's going on. I, as a player, however, would vote for going after the quasit first to avoid encountering it later when we're weakened.

Quasit. Though i'm generally happy to follow the group- until Belril at least establishes himself as a 'regular' group member his vote doesn't really matter.

Mythril mentioned upthread ^ that he was on vacation from school for 2 weeks and might be in and out. I assume he might be on the "short trip" mentioned right now. I think school starts up for him again on Monday, so he should be back to the rat race soon. ;)

Yep, we are traveling now and have limited access and time to use the internet. I am trying to keep up at least once a day but it is as it is. We are back home on Sunday the 14th. More regular posting will begin then again. Until then I will do the best I can to keep us going along.

Back home from vacation, but things have been a bit hectic. Sorry for the delay, I will try to get a post up soon. We came home to no power, most of the city has been out since Saturday. The kids first day of school was canceled so we are scrambling a bit. We have power back so I will try to have something up by the end of tonight.

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience, Mythril. I was going to say I hadn't heard about any storms in your part of the country, but I assume it was part of the system that collapsed that stage in Indiana. Hope everything gets back to normal quickly and you didn't lose too much in your refrigerator.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

It was indeed the same storm system that hit the Indiana State fair. Several large trees are down around here. I live in area with lots of trees, a huge wooded park borders the Seminary grounds. We didn't lose too much, our neighbor was able to pack or freezer with ice and save most of our food. Public School was supposed to start Monday, but since many schools still are without power and or phone service it has now been canceled for the second day. Hope we can get them to school Wednesday.

Longsword's can't crit on a 16 even with improved critical or keen?

Hopefully, he accidentally looked at the modified result of 19 instead of the natural roll of 16. I'm pretty sure I've read a thread on the boards that concluded that you could use the withdraw action while frightened and avoid the AoO, but Kern might have had to move through more than one threatened square to run away....

Sovereign Court

He probably could have taken a safe withdraw but I think his choice not to is very much in the spirit of role-playing a frightened character.

Here it is. Just logic applied; no developer input. But if you can cast a spell to get away, which is explicitly mentioned and requires concentration, you ought to be able to tactically withdraw and then run like heck. :)

You could also argue, though, that if he's afraid of the quasit, he would try to avoid an AoO from it but be so distracted by the fear that he would ignore the danger from any other enemy. He's not afraid of the goblin-thing, after all.

Sovereign Court

Yeah i'd seen the thread in question and i'd rule the same way in my games. But I just mean I think it was good role-playing to provoke an AOO.

Had lots of situations like this in 3.5 with turned, intelligent undead fleeing.

The only way I could have avoided the AoO was to jump in the pool, and I decided that Kern had enough self-control to feel that taking an attack from the goblin would be less embarrassing than diving into the pool, so I went with the AoO.

For some reason, whenever I play a heavy-hitting fighter type, I never seem to get to do much heavy hitting. I always end up running in fear, or slowed, or paralyzed, or in various other conditions that make me unable to attack. :)

I really do hope that critical was a mistake though. Otherwise, Kern might not make it through his first fight.

You too, huh?

Sophy took unbreakable heart just because she knew Erylium could do that, but it's only a +4 to save, which wouldn't have helped anyone but Victor. I thought it might be more handy after someone got frightened when it could suppress the effect, but since Sophy herself didn't save, there went that bright idea. At least Belril seems to have actually hurt her, which none of us could manage to do last time around.
