The ratfolk gropes at his body, checking for any wounds or changes.

"I think I'm fine. Everything still seems in place. Only things missing are my clothes and gear. Are you thinking of taking out Marrow? I mean, getting in here is one thing, but she's the Smiler leader. Plus she's a necromancer. Leader of the Smilers, a pack of masochistic cannibals has to be serious business, right?"

He shakes and then still his nerves. "I'm Whiskifiss, but I'm sure you know that."

Female Human

Liz hands Whiskifiss her light crossbow to borrow. It is dangerous to go alone, here take this. She also gives him 6 bolts, all she has.

Where is Marrow? We can deal with her I guess, best take out all of the Smilers.

Syvlara's arrows strike at the final Rust Risen and it groans before toppling over, sprawled before Ibuki's feet.

"Etymology? What's that? You got a problem with my name? My mom gave me my name, you know." His whiskers twitch as he stands more upright, naked.

"Thank you kindly, miss. You know my weapon of choice." The ratfolk loads the weapon like a pro. "I've never been here before. Most people that end up here are either crazy, or experiments for the necromancer. I'm guessing that Marrow's in some room you haven't been to before."

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

"No problem, I'm merely curious as to the origins. But perhaps we should focus on other things for now. Is there anything more you can tell us about this installation?"

If allowed, Astra will also now try to do the Heal check on Whiskifiss that we passed over earlier

Whiskifiss shrugs. "I got nothing."

Astra checks over Whiskifiss, who stands proudly and shows off all his rat bits, and finds nothing out of the ordinary from him. He doesn't have any bruising, cuts, diseases, or the like, but he does smell like chemicals.

"oh, you're welcome Astra. It was nothing."

Astra finds nothing useful in the room.

When you're ready, you open the doors to the next room.

This large chamber contains several metal tables adorned with tangles of strange devices sporting metallic, articulated arms, many of which end in blades, needles, saws, or other implements of surgery. The whole area reeks of blood and old guts, and telltale rusty brown stains besmirch the floor and walls. Lighting is provided by several burning skulls sitting here and there throughout the room.

Four naked human bodies lying atop the tables stir slightly. They have greatclubs gripped in their hands and masses of stitches on their shaved heads.

At the far end of the room is a hobgoblin dressed in surgeon's clothing.
She has a dagger in one hand and a wand in the other.

"You've entered the wrong room. But I was running out of experiments, and food. Thank you for adding to my supplies."

Syvlara has an arrow prepared for Marrow.

Enemy turn.

The humanoid creatures move themselves from their tables and moves close to the entrance, keeping you from easily entering the room.

As Marrow begins casting a spell, Syvlara fires a shot at the hobgoblin. It nearly strikes Chakos, then the metal table before stabbing into the drawer behind the Smiler leader. She smiles a natural smile of sharp teeth (unlike the other Smilers). Lightning shoots straight through the doorway, striking Chakos, Syvlara and Liz.

Lightning Bolt: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 4, 2, 1) = 19
Chakos, Syvlara and Liz can make a Reflex DC 15 to halve the damage.

Astra slashes at the strangely walking human, and thick blood seeps from the cut. The creature does not make a noise, nor does it flinch from the attack.

Ibuki sees the red blood, and looks at the creatures again. He starts to cast a spell but doesn't finish it. He realizes the humans aren't actually undead.

Ibuki, Chakos, Liz and Syvlara's turn.

I have refunded Ibuki's action, since the spell won't work on non-undead. And they were labeled "zombies".

Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Aughhh!

Liz casts HASTE on the group

Hate:

The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.

When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.

All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for increased speed. Multiple haste effects don't stack. Haste dispels and counters slow.

So everyone has +1 hit +1 AC/Reflex and can make one extra full attack and has +30 movement

She then pulls back to behind Whiskifiss so she isn't in the line fo fire

Here's my second swing, either on the same one I swung at already if he is still up, or on the one south of me otherwise:

You've probably never encountered anything like these creatures. Heal might give you an educated guess at what Marrow has done to them, though.

Liz casts magic buffing the entire party. Everyone feels faster and sharper.

Chakos slashes at the lobotomite, digging deep with his greataxe. It makes a soft moan, but doesn't flinch from the attack. He swings again and misses as it shambles in place strangely.

Syvlara's second arrow stabs into the hobgoblin's chest. She hisses and stares at it before calming her nerves. A small patch of blood stains her otherwise immaculate clothing.

Astra's second slash strikes the door frame.

The humans seem to be normal, except Marrow has tampered with their brains and pain receptors. They seem to resist pain and damage through sheer will power (or lack of it) and are similarly enslaved to Marrow's whims retaining some of their natural abilities. They also seem to be Smilers, minus the scars and mutilation-gunslinger and rogue types.

After Ibuki acts... If he doesn't act, you can skip him after some hours.

The two nearest Lobotomites swing their greatclubs at Chakos and Astra.

Greatclub at Chakos: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 41d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Greatclub at Astra: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 51d10 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Marrow takes a step south and fires another lightning bolt down the line, blasting her own experimental humanoid.

Lightning Bolt: 6d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 3, 6, 3) = 24
Again, make a Reflex DC 15 to halve the damage.

Realizing those things are not undead, Ibuki changes his course of action and concentrates on Marrow, changing his chant to another tune you heard before.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

I think there is some confusion regarding where the second lightning bolt goes. Chakos, Syvlara and Elizabeth all saved against it, but they are on the top row of us. But GM stated that Marrow moved a step south before blasting the second lightning bolt, which means that it would hit Lob C, Astra, Ibuki and Whiskifiss. The lightning bolt hitting the bottom row (Astra-Ibuki) instead of the top row (Chakos-Syvlara-Elizabeth) is also supported by the fact that GM specifically rolled save for Lob C, which is in row with Astra-Ibuki.

Holding action until clarification. If it hits the Astra-Ibuki-Whiskifiss row, then my save is:

Reflex DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 12 hp dmg

Oh, that's right. Some confusion to the group. The second lightning bolt hits the bottom row (which unfortunately is where Liz moved). So it hits Astra, Ibuki, Whiskifiss, and Lobotomite C. This means Liz is still down, but Chakos is not hit, and Syvlara is also not hit.

Working on a map. Will be up soon.

Female Human (Kellid) Bard (Archaeologist) 7 (HP 47/47 | AC 20 | Fort +2 Ref +5 Will +5 | Initiative +0 | Perception +13)

In that case, Astra pulls back, moving to one square south of Whiskifiss, probably eating an AoO from Lob C in the process. She then casts Cure Moderate Wounds on Elizabeth, pressing her lips to the mage's forehead and whispering arcane words. "Elizabeth, LIVE."

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (6, 2) + 5 = 13

"Everyone, get the hell behind the corner! Make them come to us!" The zombies don't look smart enough to keep from pursuing us... let's pull back and chop them down as they approach, and stay out of Marrow's line of fire.

Well, I was using the Roll20 for all four games, so I was moving things around. Probably easier with editable Google Drawing.

Chakos slashes at the human to his south and chops a chunk of flesh from it. Blood oozes and it collapses, twitching slightly. He turns and chops into the other human experiment like slashing through a tree trunk. His blade stops before shearing through all the way, and the creature sags slightly.
