As a matter of fact, I will be awarding XP Eradico. I was going to wait until after I post the next group scene tomorrow, but since it is an RP scene, it won't hurt to award it a little early so you guys can get a head start.
Everyone has 400 XP to spend on advances. Decius is also now eligible to take Deathwatch advances.
On another note, I have been playing FFG's Death Angel card game the last few weekends in two player games with my cousin, and on the eleventh game we finally scored a win with sole survivor Sergeant Gideon escaping via the Launch Control card.
Not only is this game a hard one, but our rolls on the previous ten games were absolutely atrocious. Has anyone else played this one, and if so, what is your success rate?

I got Death Angel for myself last Christmas. I've played it solo a couple of dozen times or so and managed to win a few times. Yeah, it seems nigh impossible at times but it's still really fun. Sometimes when I lose a marine before I can even get out of the airlock (so frustrating!) I simply stop the game and start over.
Rook, you won with the green team and Gideon was the last man standing? Unbelievable! The emperor really was with you! I *hate* the green team and sometimes leave their chit out on purpose when randomly choosing squads at the start of the game.
I played with my son and we managed to lose once and then win once. I find it a pretty nifty solo game. Since I also have Space Hulk, the "real thing" is better when I have someone else to play.
The rulebook sucks. Fortunately, there is good help to be found on the FFG forum and there are some very helpful youtube tutorials available.

To say the game is challenging is an understatement, and I'm glad we're not the only ones who think so. It plays really well as a co-op game though, and my cousin and I have been enjoying it a lot. I haven't tried it solo yet, but it lends itself well to that style of play as well, almost like a tactical space marine Solitaire.
My cousin has been catching up on WH40K lore, with the expectation that I'll be running a solo Deathwatch game for him in the near future. I'm leaning toward a campaign in the Canis salient, against the Tau, just to use some different material than what I have been employing in this campaign. I'll keep you guys apprised of how it is proceeding, I may even dip into your wealth of knowledge for some advice or inspiration here and there. It will be weird running a tabletop game again after two years of PbP, so wish me luck.
I should be able to get the advances updated on the wiki character sheets at work tomorrow for those of you who have spent XP already. If you haven't yet, no rush, there will be ample opportunity before the next mission begins.
I have to say, Only War took me by surprise (and many others by how the FFG message boards blew up), but I have to say, I am not one of the naysayers. In fact, being a huge fan of Abnett's Gaunt's Ghost series, I'm really looking forward to it. It will be very hard for me to resist running something along those lines...we'll see what happens though, my dance card is certainly full for the time being. Although, one has to wonder what will become of the Oremor Penal Legions after the events of this campaign!

With the 600 I have saved up I have now 1000 which I will take Astartes Weapon Specialization (Bolt, Bolter) from the Tatical list.
Oh and now that its finished what is the stats of the lancea
Hi Kaltos, the Astartes Weapon Specialization (Bolt, Bolter) was certainly one worth saving for, nice Talent to make your maximum BS penalty -30 at all times. Perfect for a Tactical Marine.
The lancea has also been added to your sheet. It is for the most part the same as any two-handed weapon, similar in many respects to Decius' Ithakan sea lance, with the exception that it is a far heavier, sharper, and shorter stabbing spear. Mac Zi Ven's superior forgecraft has also granted it the Razor Sharp quality.

Rook I just checked the PDF sheet for Hrothgar and noted that 300XP has not yet been spent; do you concur that I have 700XP to spend?
http://sonsofjericho.wikispaces.com/file/view/Brother_Hrothgar.pdf
That is correct, Rad, as far as I can tell you didn't spend some XP somewhere along the way (possibly the bonus XP awarded at the end of Mission to Tantalus).
I know some of you are saving XP, too, but here is the current totals for those of you with XP remaining to be spent (for those who haven't spent XP after this most recent award, it is included in the amount).
Brother Caledonii: 0
Brother Quintus: 0
Brother Syne: 100
Brother Vex: 450
Brother Hrothgar: 700
Brother Decius: 1000
Brother Emeric: 1000

Funny you say this, Rook. I'm not ready to throw my hat in the ring just yet but for some time I've considered running a campaign myself. Two ideas are rumbling around my head:
1. Running a fantasy campaign using WFRP, 2nd edition rules, assuming Rad is not in a position to do so.
2. Run a Total War, Imperial Guard campaign. I thought about Black Crusade but I don't know Chaos fluff enough to be confident with it.
I would need some ramp-up time (aim for a launch sometime this summer) and probably some help from you, Rook, with using the wiki and developing battle-maps.
Anyways, I'll have to see what my logistics look like before fully committing.

I would be absolutely thrilled to play any of those games, Eradico, and would be glad to help out with any logistical points. Two campaigns is plenty for one GM, lol, and I am dying to play in the 40K setting (or even a WFRP one).
Consider my hat TOTALLY in the ring, you'd make a great GM.

Hey, thanks for the encouragement/compliment! I'll need to do a few things first... Like actually buy Total War, make sure logistically I can make faithful commitment to maintaining a game and, well, talk with my commanding officer, Mrs. Eradico about it. :)
So everybody if you haven't read it yet, please hold off from reading Eleventh Hour since I might run it (and let me add that everyone here would be graciously invited to join).
Rook, here is how I'll spend my 1,000 available XP:
Talent, Peer (Adeptus Mechanicus), reduced cost 200 <---thanks, btw!
Deathwatch Advance, Ciphers (Xenos Markings), 200
Ballistic Skill, Simple Advance, 500
Reserve, 100

@Bal--Yeah, Black Crusade looks interesting but like I said, I'm not too steeped in the lore. I've read a lot of Gaunt's Ghosts and other Imperial Guard works so I'm a lot more confident with the fluff.
@Deiros--No prob. You won't have to make a decision for a couple of months at the earliest... And depending on how long FFG takes to release the product maybe even longer!

I actually think you can play a Guardsman game from the Dark Heresy books. You might need to raise the level a little a bit though, but you have three directions Guardsmen can go in, leader, heavy combat or scout/sniper. Then there's the Commissar rank option in the Inquistior's handbook and I could see pskers, tech priests and clerics having their own place in the game as well.
With maybe some altered starting packages for anyone who'd like to play a Ratling or an Ogryn.

I rather wait for the new book on how to play imperial guard related campaign.
Well I would probably like to play the Dark Tusk as I can flesh them out my self, but it is evident they are Nurgle men, but IF I'm forced to choose one it would be the Alpha Legion or the Iron warrios as a second choice.

You do need an understanding Mrs. to run a long-term game, I'm very lucky in that regard, myself. I'll look forward to the possibility for the time being, Eradico and avoid the 11th Hour, while eagerly awaiting Only War.

Advances noted to the wiki sheet, Eradico, since I was using PDF-Filler, don't mind the 'fat' text, I'll repair it when I can save the sheet using the full version of Adobe I at work (at least the new advances are easy to notice this way!).

No Worries Eradico. Was just saying Lol.
If I did play I would be torn with 3 factions. Iron Warriors first and always, Night Lords for a serial killer type theme. Or Word Bearers, and drive you all crazy with zealous sermons Lol.
I am fine with it Retias. Up to Rook if he wants an extra man on the Kill Team though.

Hi Retias, welcome!
Glad to see you are interested in the campaign, and Deathwatch in particular. If you know anything about this group, you know we are a fairly dedicated bunch (our Dark Heresy Campaign, the Oremor Affliction, has been running for over two years now, and the Deathwatch campaign, here, over a year) so we'd expect the same from anyone joining.
Of course, a new player isn't solely my decision, but up to the group as a whole. Eight battle brothers would be a formidable Kill-team, and would require the necessary adjustments in adversaries and obstacles to pose a challenge to, and this would be my biggest reluctance to adding another. That being said, as long as we're under ten players and everyone is happy, I'm OK with whatever the consensus might be.

Hey Bal, I promise you, before I stop GM'ing 40K, I'll get a Black Crusade game, whether one-shot or campaign for you. I'm finishing up the Hand of Corruption right now, and boy is it ever an impressive module.
I guess that is one quick vote for you Retias, Bal even beat me to the punch by a couple minutes.

Lol, was just saying it was okay by me. Your the final judge.
Appreciate that Rook. Have to say I am probably read enough Chaos fluff that its not healthy for my sanity Lol. Would be good to play things from the other side of The Long War.

Sounds great. I need to get my own copy ordered. Rook, I will send you an email later asking for advice w/regard to using wikis, creating battle-maps and such.

Hmm... A lurker wants to jump in and join the fun? Why does that sound familiar to me? ;)
Welcome, Retias! I joined the same way and I have to say the GM and players are top-notch.

Current team make-up:
Catman/Kaltos, Brother Caledonii, Tactical Marine (Storm Warden)
Deiros, Brother Decius, Tactical Marine (Iron Snake)
Eradico, Brother Emeric, Techmarine (Black Templar)
Rad, Brother Hrothgar, Assault Marine (Space Wolf)
Bal, Brother Lyriel Vex, Librarian (Dark Angel)
Lorm, Brother Quintus, Devastator (Ultramarine)
Elipsis, Brother Eli Syne, Apothecary (Dark Angel)
I agree with Rad, play what you want. Another Space Wolf is fine: for Fenris!
Rook has set up an amazing wiki. Check it out:
http://sonsofjericho.wikispaces.com/Battle-Brothers
Edit: And are there specialities you want to keep limited to one?
If you really want to play a particular specialty I'd say go for it but another assault or devastator might fit best.

Ok! HOLD ON a second!
The players here are top notch RPers and I aspire to someday I can be as good, so I expect if you join to do as well as me since I consider my self the ok of the group (considering I'm still dealing with RL crap) I wouldn't have anything against you joining either since I did the same thing.
You better be prepared for heavy RPing, expected of your character and not to take arguments and fights in the RPing as a thing to betray and kill another players since if you read how we are going so far, you would notice that there are some heated arguments between characters beliefs and dogmas but it is usually just that.
In the end it all comes down to Rook and his willingness to alter, modify and change things to give you the chance to join, since it is no easy task for him.

lol couldn't help my self.
I have no problems of you being a newcomer Retias.
Rook might ask you to use the Castle dice roller but paizo dice works as well it's up to rook!
No ominissiah tweaking!!
